no cause fifteen healed and ruby helped him heal even more and then her dream came true, she found her bio mum and her dad as well, and the doctor realised ruby couldn't stay. wouldn't be able to, because she had a better life back home. she had to leave him, ecdn though they became a family. and fifteen was alone again. he couldn't say i love you to her not because he can't say it- he's been speaking his love out loud all this time- but because if he said i love you too his facade would have broken down. he would have shown how much it pains him to see her leave. and he wanted ruby to leave without feeling guilty. because he loves her.

that ppl genuinely got absolutely over the top bonkers pissed off at 13 not having christmas specials is just Weird on many levels. Like, who gives a damn? A bunch of the specials were mediocre actively because of the xmas gimmicks weirdly shoehorned in, and a couple of them weren't even like, christmas related other than the fact they aired on the 25th and could have been aired on any other winter date with no issue at all. And honestly, i had to look up the list of xmas specials and a couple of them are just so not notable that nobody (including myself) remembers they exist despite having watched them.

That people continued to be put out about the lack of xmas cheer when the only leads we had confirmed at the time were A) an alien; obviously not a Christian and B) the muslim woman she travels with, without really bothering to even think about asking the question 'would either of these women celebrate this holiday?' is actually just telling.

Okay FINALLY was able to watch the doctor who 60th anniversary special #3 and I’m literally sobbing this is the most healing thing I’ve ever experienced

okay okay OKAY thoughts about the special under the cut

first of all the immediate love I felt for fifteen in the giggle was only multiplied and enforced here. ncuti just brings so much energy and charisma and fun to the role. but also I legit teared up when he saved ruby at the end. his acting chops were on full display! the singing moments, the gloves, dancing at the club, MAVITY aaahhhhh it was great.

second ruby is so sweet!! I love her and her family, the whole foster kid story is beautiful and relatable. and she’s fun.

third the goblins were a great dw villain, especially for xmas. they were silly but awesome and I really enjoyed them. that song? 10/10 banger no notes.

fourth who was the neighbor lady at the end??!! she is definitely gonna make a reappearance. I like the set up for the upcoming season(s).

finally I’m just really excited for this new era and spring 2024 cannot come soon enough!!
