How to make Tim & Damian friends? Through animals. Obviously. Also Damian should've gotten a horse waaaaay before there was a cow. He's a 10 year old aristocratic child. Which likes animals. OF. COURSE. HE. IS. GETTING. A. HORSE.

Damian is a horse girl. No, I will not elaborate.

(It's a sport. Dignified. With animals. Which you get to train. Actually the better you train them, the more successful you are. OF COURSE he would be into it. Come on.)

(horse riding training in Mongolia was actually used as a reward/present for him from Thalia. Still training. Technically. But you all know how it went.)

What if Tim got a horse from his parents for a late random-rich-folks present? Like a car, but he was too young so... He names her Queenie Buttercup.

What would Tim do with a horse? Well, he researches. Alright. His parents bought him a place in the best stable in the city, but it's so obviously corrupt. Also incompetent. Tim' s gotta take care of that. Obviously. Also some horses are horribly mistreated by their owners. Or sold to the slaughterhouse. He manipulates, blackmails, bribes these people off. And.... he somehow ended up with a full stable some day, without even realizing it or planning it one bit???.

Also he lets all the poor kids in (he hired some people to supervise dw) to the horsies. Obviously. They help around. Get to ride? There is one pair of twins from Crime Alley (most of the kids are from there...) taking care of this one old horse in particular. They're making him the most beautiful looking food, braid his mane, decorate him with frills...

There is a quiet red haired boy, with black eyeliner, heavily tattooed. He always helps the younger kids and is the best at shushing any spooked horse.

There is a great competition who can decorate their saddle the prettiest. Some adults even try to cheat...

There's also one reeeealy ambitious kid. He wants to compete for real. He showed up, determined, fists balled up, at Tim's front door one day. He said that he discovered some of Janet & Jack artifacts were in fact very convincing fakes like this one tile, from example. Supposedly from Hadrian's grave. But it was identified on the basis of three papers, all of which cite in a critical junction a paper which, under closer examination, is clearly just pretending to answer the question of the origin, in fact it was written with the specific person in mind from the very beginning, isn't it strange that....... etc etc. But he won't tell anybody, no siree. He'll spare Tims' family the embarrassment. But only if he gets to ride Queenie Buttercup. And if he's good, get the chance to compete.

(He has a mother who supports him very much. And a stepfather who loves him. And two no no-nonsense older sisters (one is veterinarian, Tim hires her immediately. Pays her VERY handsomely. She always sees through his bullshit and doesn't care about his money or power or status, her brother and animals come first. Damian is Very Impressed and demands to be made aware every time she does something so he can watch or even assist.) who do whatever they can to help him realize his dream. Actually his whole block loves him. When he competes the whole Crime Alley keeps their fingers crossed for him to win. He gets a big celebration when he comes home after winning his first big trophy.)

There's also a girl from Tim's class really into horses. She's overly formal and does karate in her free time. Tim never noticed her before, but now they're besties. They trade statistics and have regular fights about what's the most likely breed to do XYZ.

Damian of course wants the piece of that fairytale dream stable as soon as he finds out (so maybe the stables are not on the manor grounds idk). Also after realizing how many animals Tim has rescued he starts to respect him.

How he found out?

Tim obviously doesn't advertise that he's got a whole stable and is literally changing lives of a bunch of kids. No one cares about his stuff, obviously. He would bore them to tears when talking about it, just like with any other of his hobbies. Also it's normal and totally what anyone would do. Besides, doesn't every upper class family have stables? It's, like, a requirement when you're filthy rich. Like having a yacht.

Also that could make Tim, who always wants to do everything by himself, the most experienced in terms of normal farm adjacent/ manual labor. Like, the Bats are city boys through and through. Jason maybe did idk some construction work when he needed money, but he wouldn't get the chance to actually muck about with horse manure probably ever. So it would be HILARIOUS. He could casually bring it up? His casual knowledge of this kind of work. Everyone would think it was a joke and something he researched, so in poor taste even to pretend to actually have experience with this hardship and act all knowledgeable. Jason would scoff at the silver spoon Tim has been fed with since birth, so what can he possibly know. And he just goes...

"Oh yeah, I run a stable actually. Yes I do the clean ups with everyone. Obviously. So that's why I know about that. Anyway so what are we watching?" And they're just SHOCKED.

Or alternatively

Tim is of course the owner of like, 6 cats. Actually there was just one stable cat at the beginning but she had kittens so... yeah it's 6 now. Yeah we take care of them. They're cute. And he just casually brings it up to Damian?

Tim: "I totally get making so many pictures of your pet. I have, like, five thousand pictures of my cats. I sometimes stalk them, even. To get better shots. And they look so adorable in each of them!"

Damian: "You. Have cats. As in. Multiple."

Tim: "Oh I've never told you, sorry, completely forgot haha. Do you wanna see the pi- *grabs his phone*?

Damian: "That. Was. The. Stupidest. Question. I've. Ever. Heard. OF COURSE I WANT TO SEE. SHOW ME NOW OR PERISH.

Damian, some time later: And just as I was looking at Ismat Hasna...

Tim: Woohoo stop. I don't know what you're talking about. None of my horses are named like that?

Damian, completely seriously: Well obviously. If she was originally named like that, it would mean you have some common sense and I wouldn't have to rename her. But, alas. You named the most majestic horse on this plane of existence QUEENIE. BUTTERCUP. So. She needed an intervention from someone more sensible than you. Obviously.

Tim:

Damian: You're welcome, by the way. I already corrected her paperwork.

And they just bond and start being friendly towards each other and Dick is soooo proud, Bruce has no idea what/how (he suspects blackmail or witchcraft), Jason and Tim team up to support Crime Alley kiddos in pursuit of their hobbies. Jason got literal tears in his eyes when he saw, in real time, some harmless contact with animals and getting a chance to take care of something slowly, slowly breaks the circle of violence these kids were stuck in.

His next charity project is some martial arts centre, an indoor basketball court, paying some good trainers to just believe in those kids. It works wonders.

Idk just some thoughts I would be very glad if someone made it into a proper story or even help me develop the concept fuller... just tag me!!

MALEK'S OUTFIT IS DONE!

(also dw I was super close to having it finished anyway so finishing it didn't strain my eyes much)

I'm sooooo proud of this one~ Especially the Prosthetic and rapier(his favorite sword— he has many)

He's trained to be able to wield his rapier with both his left arm and with his prosthetic, so that he can fight even if he doesn't have said prosthetic. The prosthetic does make things a bit easier for him, though.

MORE YAPPING ABOUT THE PROSTHETIC UNDER THE CUT!! bc damn I yap enough about his daily routine in this post already

But the basic gist is: this is only his BATTLE prosthetic, so only uses it in battle. He has other prosthetics for other uses since he's a prince who can afford that. HE NEVER WEARS THEM TO BED!

Also I tried to strike a balance in the design between 'soldier/knight' and 'prince who needs to at least look presentable'

I really like that fact that, Malek, in appearance, resembles Malleus a LOT. But his expressions look a lot closer to Irina's.

Autistic man with an extremely rigid routine

If you've ever seen those videos from the fake, satirical news program 'The Onion' and their series about 'Autistic reporter Michael Falk'... Malek would also be enchanted by the rigid routine of prisons.

Malek just lives out this fantasy by living like a soldier.

Also! From what I can gleam in-game, it seems like Malleus, Lilia and Sebek, being 'nocturnal fae' are actually nocturnal, and awake at night rather than in the day. Malleus states in his New year's card's lines that waking up in the morning is difficult for him, and he is also known to go on a lot of walks at night, during which he never appears tired.

He gets up at 17:00/5PM— around two hours before most of his family— has breakfast after getting dressed and making his bed, and is never finished after 17:45. Then from 17:45-18:00 he stretches, after which he trains until 20:00/8PM. Then he goes to sit with his family while they eat breakfast, taking something small for himself too, though always leaves at 20:30, even if they're not all done. Then he dedicates his time until 00:00/Midnight with miscellaneous tasks, such as helping other soldiers train. If there's no one to help, he checks to make sure the weapon storage isn't missing anything, and that everything inside is organized. He does keep this part of his day less rigid, knowing that something might pop up in regards to his other duties as a prince, which are— to his chagrin— never possible to predict.

Then he has lunch with his family at 00:00, leaving at 01:00 instead, to have more time with them. If something comes up that would make the family not have lunch at that time, Malek still does. He always brings something small with him, like an apple, to make sure he can always eat SOME kind of lunch at his usual time, even if it isn't very filling. Otherwise everything just feels wrong.

Then he goes on patrol for an hour. Though since this is not usually very serious, more like a walk, or to break up any arguments he comes across, sometimes his sister Maleah joins him for part of this walk, and they just talk a bit. Or more like she talks at him. He responds when asked for his opinion on something, though isn't very social outside of that. Partly due to not liking to do things he considers useless, but also due to often not knowing what to say that isn't going into a tirade about military organization, historic military practices, or the history of sword-making, or swordsmanship in general.

Maleah knows this very well, and doesn't mind him not responding a lot, being very well aware he's still paying attention.

Then from 02:00 until around 06:00/6AM, he alots the time to any social events he'd been invited to— seeing it as his duty as a prince to show up. Or if no such invitations have been sent his way, he spends it with his family members. Most often he ends up spending that time with Maleah, the two just relaxing in her drawing room (Malek would have had a drawing room too, if he'd wanted it, but he declined, wanting his personal chambers to be used for sleeping only), Malek maybe taking the time to do maintenance on one of his swords or one of his sets of armor.

If Maleah is busy rehearsing for a show, or one of his other family members finds him first, he spends time with someone else. Most often either one of his uncles— Sebek and Silver— or his youngest siblings Malissa and Malindt. Malissa often comes to ask him to play, since he never says no unless he already has plans. She often uses the opportunity to make him do something 'silly' none of their other siblings want to do, since she never even has convince Malek to give it his all and put a lot of effort into it.

Then from 05:00-06:30 he trains. Then he stretches until 07:00, after which he goes to bed.

PROSTHETIC STUFF!

This is specifically his battle prosthetic— it being made of metal makes it heavier. He is VERY strong due to training every single day- routine is very important to him— but the arm is still too heavy to be very comfortable in more day-to-day use. So he only uses this prosthetic when he's going to be dueling against someone, or for training to be able to use it in battle

It's attached to his right arm with a strap that's under the sleeve, hence why you can't see it in this image— and those strips wrap around his torso, too, to keep it securely in place. These straps do get very uncomfortable, though, which is another part in why he limits his use of this specific prosthetic.

After that, he uses magic to move it around. So in that sense, it COULD be more manouverable than a non-magic prosthetic would be, allowing him more ease of movement in his fingers— but since this prosthetic's fingers only needs to be able to grip securely onto a sword, that wasn't included in the design, and so the fingers are quite stiff. But the magic is very useful in allowing him to easily move the upper and lower parts of it— the extra help is needed since his real arm ends around his chest, so it's not long enough to be easily able to move a heavy metal arm, nor would the movements of an entire arm be something it'd be used to and have muscle memory for.

These straps do get very uncomfortable, though, which is another part in why he limits his use of this specific prosthetic.

He has other prosthetics, which he can afford due to being a prince— most people can only afford one, if even that. He has one specifically for writing, and one for doing tasks requiring finer motor skills— such as, for example, tying knots. Those do have more finely tuned control of the fingers.

And he always takes off his prosthetics before bed, and often when he's just spending time with family, too.

General Headcanons

He's not the strongest or most impressive of boys, nevers and evers alike make fun of him for being weak physically and not bring the smartest of the bunch. What he lacks in a lot of things he makes up for in his devotion, despite being a never, he cherishes those he cares for and doesn't dare waver against his undying loyalty. So, if you show him that you're loyal, you understand his boundires and don't push them, he couldn't ask for anything more. Hort just wants someone who loves him for who he is.

Hort is very caring and won't be afraid to help you if you're down or acting strange, in private that is, in public it'd be a string of almost coded phrases and attempts to get you alone so you wouldn't be embarrassed of him calling out your behaviour.

I wouldn't say he's extremely protective, but he's definetly up there, and can become overbearing if you don't sit him down and express your boundaries. Hort wants you safe, and in a school like this? Safety is the last priority of the staff, somebody has to step up to get you safe and it may as well be him.

Appreciates if you at least comfort him or even try to stop the bullying that happens regularly to him, or even the manipulation provided by Sophie. In return his loyalty is tenfold.

He likes matching pyjamas, cute little animal patterns that you wear in each other's company.

Never Headcanons

If you're a never like him, many factors can benefit or dampen the process of knowing him. Especially if you somehow befriend Sophie, the small crush he has on her is just that in this, a small crush. It ends faster than it begins, and he realises your beauty and personality is something Sophie couldn't compete with.

Even if you may be too thin or too big, with scraggly and unwashed hair, pimples and rough skin, that's beauty for him. It gets you far for a never and hey, even if you're insecure, the school for evil and it's inhabitants will grade you good on it. Conventially attractive people are beauty in a different way, in that they're unusual, and a never with those features, as seen by Sophie, is still something he finds pretty.

Now onto your personality, for a never, this could go two ways, maybe you're nicer and shy, or even confident yet respectful, either way, they're traits unlike a never. While this places a target on your back and could cause some tension with teachers and students alike, it places an unfamiliar comfort when it comes to Hort and his love for you.

While he still wishes to be seen as someone capable of bad, and understands he can't always be the one to protect his significant other, he appreciates the kindness you extend to him. Hort hasn't known much kindness, and even a shy glance as you hold your hand out for him to hold, or a confident and outgoing grab as you smile at him, makes a far larger impact that you could ever realise. Especially since you're a never, he can't fathom that someone set out for cruelness and evil could still find it in themselves to love him, it proves to Hort your love couldn't be fake, and any seeds of doubt are dispelled by the adoration you show whether veiled or outright.

If you're harsh and the typical never, he adores your villainy and although he wants to become a villain himself, he can settle for a henchman if its under you, only you however. Hort doesn't mind if you're a little cruel to him, he's completely use to it, there are definetly lines that if you cross he's not staying with you, manipulating his love and devotion is a deal breaker. Especially if everything with Sophie happened before you were together, he doesn't want to go back to being used.

That said, you being 'cruel' is sometimes a plus, it makes you familiar and him relate to you more, which is always great when it comes to a relationship. Being a never doesn't always mean lack of love, your love isn't all cruelty, yelling and hitting, it lacks those at all later on when you or him confess.

Whether you're completely capable as a never or need help, he's always ready to assist if you need it. Struggling with homework? He took some notes! While the handwriting is barely understandable and messy, he will read them for you and even add some things onto your own studies he forgot for his. If you don't at all need nor want help, or even excel in studies compared to him, he's still there for when you somehow miss a lesson or maybe weren't paying full attention on a bad day. Hort even asks for help himself from time to time, while not outright, you can tell from how he's been placing lower these past few days, and you won't allow a fail no matter how cruel of a never you are.

If you were born a guy the chances of you being in the same dorm as him increases, and even if you aren't in the same dorm, you can still visit without eyebrows being raised, you may get put in the doom room if you aren't supposed to be out, however. If you were born a girl, you won't have a chance of dorming with him and will need to be sneakier when visiting each other so people don't think anything weird, and so you don't get put in the doom room.

When it comes to being between, neither girl or boy / both, you won't be treated well in the school for evil. In the handbook, it's explicitly stated that before, and after for the School for Evil, Agatha, both schools were very traditional and separated students based on sex.

Hort would be very lovely to you, helping in any way he could to lessen bullying or separation, and the last statements stay the same based on your biological sex. Which is unfortunate, but you can't exactly break a system with two teenagers, one a guy who has cute pyjamas.

Ever Headcanons

Now for an ever reader, things play out differently. Let's say you are a conventially attractive ever, beauty and grace your defining features, he may think you blend into the crowd. To him, all evers are self absorbed and fake, their kindness isn't unlimited, nor is it true, as when a never is in the room, or just a regular person that may not look the most rich and extravagant, the true colours start shining. That doesn't mean he believes them to be ugly or denies that fact, only in a jealous stupor or when aggrivated by one does that happen.

I can see this going two ways, either you catch his eye despite wearing the same uniform, being attractive and having the same sickly sweet attitude as everybody else, or, you notice him.

If you don't notice him, then perhaps your kindness is what allows you two to meet. Whether befriending the 'evil' Ever, Agatha, and meeting Sophie through her and therefore meeting Hort, who'd already had his beady eyes upon you. You could've defended him from a group of ignorantly loud and aggravating bullies, especially if they're Evers, his once smaller crush turns into respect. While he may not show it completely, and to an outsider he seems creepy with his affections, you understand him. If you don't? You know how Nevers act, they're strange and not like an Ever, so it's hard to judge what you have limited knowledge on. Given your already stated kindness, it's hard to imagine you'd be too judging.

If you're instead a very rude or just unusual Ever, being anti social in a harsh or awkward fashion, then it's your appearance that gets him aware of you fully, he notices you, of course. But, besides a few glances admiring your beauty, or gawking at your lack thereof, Hort doesn't try to know your name nor speak to you. He's busy getting bullied and used by a certain blonde never.

Your meeting is either coincidence or founded by you speaking to him first, if you're cruel, he is shocked at how outward you are. Most Evers are passive aggressive, his interest is piqued, and if you wanted him to leave you alone or you believed him to be weird, the chances of that happening have been lowered to zero.

If you're a shy and awkward type, Hort is drawn in by your cuteness for lack of a better term, how you try to seem confident because you don't want to fail or be bullied, he sees himself in you somewhat. His attempt to know you comes off as rude and overall strange, depending on your reaction, this could speed up the process or slow it. If you continue to try and be nice and respectful, he may just keep up this dance of insults, but if you fight back, Hort realises you aren't exactly the most different after all, and attempts a new approach.

No matter boy or girl, or either, in which case shouldn't be an issue since the school for good seems to be much more progressive, you won't ever share a dorm with him, which sucks, and you'll need to be more sneaky with your dates as to not be made fun of.

I don't know at what point reality bleeds into fiction, and fiction bleeds into reality. I suspect not a lot of us do. More importantly, I have no idea what the consequences of that overlap are, and the whole artist from art theory. Like, if trans people get joy from the Harry Potter franchise, where JKR is a transphobic piece of shit, should they give up their joy for no fault of theirs or continue to indirectly support her? As a trans guy, I still find comfort in what the fandom created. Why is everything so messy-

Anyway fandoms, they're all so strange, aren't they? Whole communities with defined roles that also evolve and overlap, fade out and emerge. But physically they don't exist. Or do they? Are fandoms the people/the fans, or the source material, or the fanon material, or the canon creators, or the canon cast/crew/publishers? Which fans are representative and which aren't of the fandom as a whole? Is it about numbers or is it weighed against the intended message of the show and its impact and other factors?

Yeah it's fucking great to be visible and be normalized. But people veered right off from normalizing and visibility to "esthetic goals" and fetishizing. This include internalized fetishism and neuroableism.

Suddenly it's not about living a healthy life, and showing people we exist. Suddenly it's all about what flavor ND of the day you are, and treating being ND and the symptoms like more of a fashion statement, and an esthetic than an inevitable part of being a human being who's ND. Which of course, through making it a fashion trendy thing, all the bad things have to be hidden, and only the marketable and wholesome behaviors gets greenlit, gotta thank the algorithm for that as well as ignorant people. With a big preference being any behavior that benefits others.

The fetishizing, and internalized neuroableism also fucks me up because it goes from being about actual ND people showing our real day to day lives, good and bad, as being just as acceptable as those of NTs, and instead becomes something people try to copy because it looks "fun".

I know fake claiming is really fucking frowned on, but what else should it be called when all of the sudden an ND condition goes trending on social media, and suddenly everyone and their dog has a cool and trendy version of it. Hey this condition is super rare, and some experts aren't even sure it exists in the way we talk about it today? A few months later the next thing comes along, and the very people claiming an ND disorder move on to the next thing.

DW, pre-teen-teen Bethica and Jacques who have shown no signs of any of the conditions and symptoms needed to be diagnosed have now become experts on this topic. Fuck mental health experts, Bethica and Jacques's tiktok history and skimreading wikipedia is much more valid than 10+ years of research in the mental health field. These kids will now educate you about this while doing fancy tiktok dances, and making a complete mockery of the actual condition. I’ve been working on redesigns for a while now, and here’s the first batch! Rather than doing them in a specific order, I had people on insta drop characters into an ask box and went down the line! This wound up being a really, really fun practice! Going with a chibi-ish style helped a lot in trying to just get the base idea down and worry about tiny details later on. Explanations/notes under the cut!

Edit: Changed Kork’s uniform to a deep navy blue as opposed to the original green after being informed of the ill origins of that green. Also changed Kyoko’s hair slightly

Korekiyo - Cut hair shorter, emblem replaces armband, shirt no longer hanging out; tucked in.

Chihiro - Hair pin from Junko, Ibuki dyed her tipes, new ribbon from Taka

Mikan - Kokichi cut her hair (for her, dw), leggings for coverage, longer sleeves, non-slip shoes. (for reference, i asked my mom just to make sure... and mikan's outfit does not at all suit a nurse, so i gave her more coverage while still keeping the fit there in a certain fashion)

Ibuki - Pigtails!!, they actually wear (part of) the school uniform, dyed their romper, white and black hair like hers would not go well as the black would quickly bleed into such small streaks of white. So i had their bangs and two sections in the front white with pink and blue streaks, while the rest of her hair is black with pink and blue streaks. Her horns are completely fake and are just attached to a headband.

Mondo - Emblem on the right jacket breast, overall just simplified certain things and gave him longer hair.

Kyoko - Butchered CUT her hair, pants for their own comfort, bracelet is smaller in actuality, it was a gift from Taka shortly after she was taken in by the Ishimarus (it's a whole thing), they got sneakers because their boots wound up not working as something to wear for long periods of time.

Hajime - Scar from surgery is there, just not shown due to simplified style (and not at all because i forgot), pride flag button, Usami keychain from Chiaki.

Chiaki - She's chubbier now :), gave her HP's uniform top and ribbon, hair color brightened to be a bit more pink, shorts under her skirt, tries to eat things she shouldn't.

Hina - Heterochromia (she's afraid of straight people), barrette is now heart shaped, swim club leader, she's got a bra because... her back would hurt hello?, i'm sorry- her shoes were tacky imo so I changed them

Sonia - Glittery bow, emblem on left arm--student council, 'dress' based on beta design, boots act as Kaz defense

Nekomaru - Uniform sleeves always rip, baggier pants because... reasons.

Makoto - His hair almost makes sense!, bro is falling constantly, ONE jacket, no doubling up... bland, but not too bland

Taka - Public Morals Committee chairperson, student council president, debate club leader, taller collar, more gold accents, NO arm band--it's replaced with the eye shown next to him, got matching boots from Junko after their original boots were ruined by bullies

Celeste - Her and Taka do one another's eyebrows, hair is curly--drills still fake, beta fit is superior, bunny from Hifumi (they're actually close, an attempt to give her more humanization was made), monster high esc shoes (she wears her canon shoes to most events, but the monster high esc shoes mix tennis shoes and heels for ease of movement and comfort)

Gundham - Oldest Ishimaru sibling, leader of the animal raising committee, partially blind, less layers

Mahiru - Still has her camera, it was just excluded here to focus on her design, romper with flowy shorts, matching bracelets with Hiyoko

Regarding the Hopes Peak emblem; I thought it may be interesting to change up the way uniforms are implemented into it... In that, there are basic uniform options, but students are relatively allowed to wear what they wish provided it followed guidelines (example being Miu's uh.. garters?? I think that's what they are? they wouldn't be allowed), and had the Hopes Peak insignia somewhere on the outfit. Following that, while the insignia can be somewhat customized in that students could change the white to be a different color, but students who lead clubs, committees, student council, etc., have the black part replaced.

(Note: assuming Nidai doesn't directly manage any teams at HP, he does not have an insignia implying such; subject to change.)

An interesting little fun fact here... well, to me... some of these actually called back to the beta designs! Mainly, with Sonia and Celeste! Admittedly a few characters got little to no changes, mostly because I just found that their designs already fit pretty well. Others, such as Taka, Makoto, or Mahiru, took the basic idea of their outfits and spruced them up. I'm not entirely sure when I originally implemented the Amy Rose rings on Taka's sleeves, but I felt it added a bit more of a dynamic pallet to his design. Or like, Makoto, a mix of simplification and sprucing up... I've never enjoyed the excessive layers he's got (lookin at you, gundham), wearing his school jacket over his hoodie always seemed... strange to me. So I figured with the change to HP dress code (considering these students don't even wear the uniform in school modes or anything), it allowed for him to just wear the hoodie with a HP insignia embroidered onto it. He's also got bandages given his canonically clumsy nature. Mahiru is someone else whose design I like but I wanted to change up somewhat, so I changed her dress to a romper with a flared bottom and a flannel pattern.

I have a question for you (sorry if that makes you uncomfortable, but that wasn't my intention) but why are different alters skilled in so different stuff? I don't know how to explain, for example why an alter could be so skilled at one thing (like cooking for example) and the other(s) aren't? Sorry if I seem inconsiderate, I want to understand

unfortunately though i'm honestly not the best person to ask on this as i am less educated on the actual neurology of DID (i've read about it before but ironically have a hard time sticking it to memory)

what i can tell you is that alters can vary in stuff like skills, allergies, etc, because alters have been scientifically proven to have neurological differences from each other. in layman's terms, using the brain differently between alters. but if you want more detail on that you'll have to research elsewhere (i encourage medical/scientific sources)

additionally, sometimes alters differ based on sincerely held beliefs about those things? this is kind of "taboo" to talk about i feel like since people can get the wrong idea that this means those things can just be turned off or they're fake. but this is not the case. ie. an alter being unable to walk because they sincerely believe they can't, even though they technically still have physical access to usage of their legs, they can't because they fully believe they cannot. this can also apply to things like different skillsets depending on the person/alter

like with all things brain these two things can overlap or the line between them can blur and it's not good to assume anything of anyone in that regard. but yeah there is basis for the phenomenon. again i'd really recommend other sources than just me though i am not an expert on this specific thing

I've always liked the idea of Mafuyu and Nene meeting I think I can find a parallel in there somewhere. Maybe Nene deciding to continue following her dreams even after giving up on them and Mafuyu being inspired by that in a way.

Anyway. Romance time

I think they'd meet through Emu or rui or even just a chance moment of meeting after after a show

Nene is terrified of Mafuyu in the beginning. Like avoiding her levels of horrified

She can clock her fake persona from a mile away and she is NOT messing with it at all

Which sucks for Mafuyu because she takes an interest in Nene from the start and seeing her avoid Mafuyu makes her feel...weird.

Mafuyu tries her best to be SUPER friendly to Nene in order to try and make her feel more comfortable but Nene is not having it yk

It takes some help from Emu but Nene eventually warms up to Mafuyu (probably after seeing her true self) who is happy she's finally able to talk to her without her running away

After they become friends Mafuyu pines hopelessly after Nene and she doesn't realize it for the longest time. The rest of niigo have to deal with Mafuyu's bullshit because she never shuts up about how Nene recommended her a new game or a play to watch or about how she got mafuyu this teddy bear-

(they're all happy for her even if Ena complains about how often she talks about Nene)

Mizuki is the one who brings up the idea of Mafuyu liking Nene and Mafuyu bluescreens for a second before falling into a small crisis (niigo help her out dw)

After Mafuyu comes to terms with her feelings she starts the arduous task of asking Nene out on a date which requires getting through one slightly protective star (tsukasa just tells Mafuyu to treat her right and doesn't give her a hard time after that)

Nene confesses first. she blurts it out randomly in one of their outings when shes about to head home and does that thing where she runs off and doesn't wait for an answer.

Mafuyu and Nene both have crises that night

Anyway to wrap this part up they talk they kiss yada yada yuri

Okay now onto the actual relationship

I mentioned it before but Nene does crane games and wins Mafuyu lots of prizes. This is theoretically post Goodbye My Persona so she takes it to kanade's house and displays them in her.. room (does she have a room? Idek)

They're not big on pda I think, Nene finds it embarrassing and Mafuyu is neutral to it, but they hold hands in a lot because its comforting to mafuyu

I hc Mafuyu to have sensory issues that she never actually knew about or acknowledge so whenever she experiences sensory overload she shuts down and she doesn't know why. Nene introduces her to the term and gets her some noise cancelling headphones (that match with hers :3)

Neither of them are good at initiating affection all the time even if they want to, but they eventually find subtle signs that the other wants a hug or a kiss or smth like that

On the subject of kissing. I don't think they kiss toooo much (they're both too embarrassed to ask) and when they do they pull away and they're all shy and flustered and shit

Mafunene honakana double dates real.

Emu gets a lot friendlier with Mafuyu after she starts dating Nene, they see each other a lot more often and Emu is super glad that Mafuyu and Nene seem happy with each other

Tsukasa and rui are so proud of their little gamer... Tsukasa starts crying happy tears when Nene tells him the news and rui almost throws a party but Nene shuts him down really quick
