Esta grabación de 1943 de la tradicional canción de cuna ladina "Durme, Durme" fue cantada por Miriam Baruch, una abuela judía que vivía en Sofía, Bulgaria. La grabación se realizó solo unas semanas antes de que ella y toda la comunidad judía fueran expulsadas a las provincias. Un fragmento de esta grabación se utilizó en una película de propaganda de la década de 1970 titulada "Eshelonite" (Los Transportes), producida por el Ministerio de Cultura del gobierno búlgaro para afirmar que el Partido Comunista salvó a los judíos búlgaros durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. El hijo menor de Miriam, un comunista comprometido y partisano durante la guerra, permaneció en Bulgaria después del conflicto y convenció a su amigo, el director de cine Chaim Oliver, para incluir la voz grabada de su madre en la película.

Biografía: Miriam Baruch (ca. 1870–1951) nunca aprendió a leer ni escribir, pero podía hablar al menos tres idiomas: ladino, búlgaro y turco. Se le describe como una mujer con una memoria notable y "una dulce voz para cantar". Su hijo menor, Fidel, pidió prestado un grabador de alambre y grabó a su madre cantando algunas de sus canciones ladinas favoritas en la primavera de 1943.

so back when germany won the world cup in 2014, a 22-year-old erik durm became a fixture of self-insert “football images” where the reader, otherwise known as y/n (short for your name), had a romance (of a sort) with durm. his prominence in tumblr and wattpad-esque imagine stories surpassed his prominence on the pitch, and his relationship with “y/n” spanned many years on this website so it was a reference to that lol

Cuatro canciones sefardíes para canto y guitarra (1965)

🇪🇸 La obra Cuatro canciones sefardíes fue compuesta por Roberto Plá en 1965 y está destinada a canto y guitarra. Esta partitura, de 8 páginas y dimensiones de aproximadamente 32 cm, contiene cuatro canciones tradicionales sefardíes: Tres hijas tiene el buen Rey, Durme, durme, No paséis por la mi sala, y El Rey por muncha madruga. El manuscrito incluye tanto borradores autógrafos como el manuscrito final de Plá, con la letra y notación musical por separado, conservado en su colección personal. Una copia de esta partitura se encuentra en la Sala Barbieri de la Sede de Recoletos de la Biblioteca Nacional de España, donada por Plá en 2002. La obra está catalogada como música manuscrita y refleja un esfuerzo por preservar el patrimonio musical sefardí mediante la transcripción y el arreglo musical para guitarra.

This sheet music, with 8 pages and dimensions of approximately 32 cm, contains four traditional Sephardic songs: Three Daughters Has the Good King, Sleep, Sleep, Do Not Pass Through My Room, and The King Rises Early. The manuscript includes autograph drafts as well as Plá’s final manuscript, with lyrics and musical notation separated, preserved in his personal collection. A copy of this score is available in the Barbieri Hall at the Recoletos Headquarters of the National Library of Spain, donated by Plá in 2002. This piece is catalogued as manuscript music and exemplifies the effort to preserve Sephardic musical heritage through transcription and musical arrangement for guitar.
