Good afternoon from this side of the world! This is New years anon again and I'm now thinking about a hilarious scenario that I thought about after seeing the Starline x Duo reblog. So sorry for the long post if it ends up being this way when I'm done typing and this has spoilers for the latest arc.

So let's say Starline and Mimic have a fight and they break up out of spite. Starline delays his plans of taking over Eggman's main base at the time resulting in him living, but he's also in his depressed wine mom era. Surge and Kit are tired of his shit and kinda sort of run away which leads to him meeting Clutch.

Now under the assumption that Mimic somehow sees these two goofballs in the restoration, he would either leave temporary to find Starline to confront him or wonder why Surge and Kit are here.

I'm not sure how they would talk to each other if they ended up meeting up, but I know it's about to be a complicated situation.

Ooooo!!! This actually brought back memories to a fanfic I was writing near the end of last summer (I think?) that never got finished or posted.

Basically, Starline and Mimic had both gotten together and broken up all within a somewhat extended version of the Bad Guys events. Things were actually going fine, but Mimic was secretly worried if Starline was using him (which Starline ORIGINALLY was) and therefore didn't believe any of their relationships was genuine leading to the whole Eggnet betrayal once Mimic found Starline's old recording.

After that, Mimic stole the truck and went off the grid. Meanwhile, Starline created Surge & Kit for Project Remaster. Once everything failed, Starline FAKED his death, but he faked it a little too well, causing Surge & Kit to follow into similar events to canon.

Starline goes into hiding while trying to track down his crazy kids. Meanwhile a definitely not over his feeling but will die before admitting it Mimic meets Surge & Kit through Clutch's plan while in the form of Duo and well, let's just say he had A LOT to catch up on.
