i have been thinking about this taz class swap all fuckin day so here’s some shit i was Thinking About instead of taking my notes in lecture today

magnus takes up magic after raven’s roost; instead of taking up fighting he turns his focus towards magic as a possible alternative/different way of accomplishing the same thing and gets into adventuring that way )also that lets him have pretty much the same backstory which is cool)

i looked at wizard traditions/schools/whatever and the unearthed arcana’s school of invention seems thematically appropriate and also grants “reckless casting” at second level which is when you cast a spell you havent prepared which sounds like magnus “rushes in” burnsides to me

merle would probably be a protection fighter as well, and then at higher levels i’d give him the scout specialization, which allows him to retain sort of nature based abilities, kind of? although they’d closer to ranger in practice but WHATEVER

i think it could be interesting to say his family still follows pan, but he abandoned it to go adventuring and whatnot and then became a fighter, although im at loathe to say Thats That wrt to his narrative because it is an arc about faith so it would b interesting to rework that so it remains in the narrative even tho i dont have any specific ideas lmao

this one definitely doesn’t make sense with current backstory but taako as a light domain cleric... we love some dumb thematic bullshit. or actually city domain, which is a new unearthed arcana one, partly because it incorporates electronics which would fit with taz since as we all know, it’s not REALLY high fantasy in the way traditional dnd is, and also partly because it would give taako vehicle proficiency which is so incredibly funny to me lmao

taako’s memory of WHEN he started following his god and why exactly are more than a little fuzzy, especially since its seems out of character for him to lean on anyone, even a god, for help, but he appreciates the company, sort of, even if it’s sometimes one way conversation

The actual first chapter of my Balance fic, To You, 100 Years From Now, is live! Technically I posted the new update at basically 12 midnight last night, and the prologue's been up forever, but I figured I'd wait till morning to actually share it here! It's a Taakitz Kimi no Na Wa (Your Name) AU where canon mostly works out, but I add a few things here and there and they also swap bodies a bunch while Taako's in the Stolen Century and Kravitz is in the span of time after the IPRE make the grand relics but before,,, everything else.

Official Description:

One day, Kravtiz wakes knowing that everything is wrong. The world feels too solid, too alive.

He realizes very quickly that this is not his body, his life, his name. He learns of a group, the IPRE. Learns that whoever this is has a sister who loves him very much, and that they cheat death every year trying to save the worlds they live on.

One day, Taako wakes up like he's floating. He learns that he's not him, that some goddess wants him to help the dead pass on in some other world. He's used to other worlds. He's way too fine with this. He still thinks he's dreaming until the next day, when he sees words on his notebook in handwriting that is completely foreign to him: "Who are you?"

Anyway I've never actually written a fic and stuck to it this hard, but since it's following canon more than most of my other ideas, and since I know that angst is coming (and if you know both stories and know this follows TAZ canon pretty specifically you probably know where this is going).

Also writing Taako's speech patterns is hard and coming up with titles is hard, this is not the first one I had posted (first name was To Every World, Just Once or something dumb like that but I realized that sticking to them swapping once a cycle and only 100 times, so like once a year, would be,, inconvenient).

Anyway, have my first real attempt at fic writing!

Good idea, Mouse. Robbie is the Lonely Alchemist. So, Robbie’s Grand Relic WAS going to be a ladle staff thing, but in light of recent events, is now The Venemum Throne(thanks tfw discord), which is Robbies throne, (and its BASICALLY a spoon, i guess, not really), and its on wheels so that he never has to walk if he doesn’t want to. Its got built in cupholders too ofc.

He probably isn’t cut out to manage the BOB, and he’s far less professional than Lucretia. Hes usually high. He put a fantasy seven eleven on the moonbase. 

He felt sad about how upset everyone was about the grand relic situation, and really, all he wanted was to make his friends happier. His initial thought process had been that his friends would stop regretting it, and he would be so stoned that he wouldnt really be completely anyway. 

Then he saw what it did to the captain, avi, and he knew he had to fix this shit. So he hired more competent people to build a moonbase, and he hired magnus to feed fisher ducks and other carvings, and davenport to man the cannons, and Lup and barry as regulators.

Dumb TAZ Swap AU

Alright so I thought about this right before I went to sleep a few weeks ago, and I’m finally gonna share the dumbest, most terrible swap au ive ever seen.

IPRE is made up of:

- Ren

- Carey

- Killian

- Kravitz

- Johann

- Avi

- Robbie (hes the director)

This is the foundation of my swap au, so you guys should all ask me questions about it(classes, bird roles, what the OG ipre do, or anything else you might want to ask), then shoot me an ask or respond to this post, or whatever, because i want to talk about it!

For your taz swap, does the ipre have their own bird titles? (Maybe they are different animals)

They are slightly altered seeing as how they don’t necessarily fit into the orginal roles, but this is what I’ve got:

Ren: The Robbed Journal Keeper(this is ABSOLUTELY a Robbie pun, because Pringles stole her journals)

Kravitz: The Peacemaker(but if you have a better idea pls share because idfk)

Johann: The Lover(Johavi is very good and I like it a lot)

Robbie: The Lonely Alchemist (hes the director, he drank voidfish slime in hopes of it making good materials for dank potions)

Avi: The Wordless One (He was the captain of whatever the fuck I decide to call the starblaster because i wanna take a crack at this ship naming)

Carey: The Lost(again, not 100% sure on this name, but she’s the red robe in wave echo cave. I’m modifying sepulchral thief thing, but its like liches for rogues)

Killian: The Protector(also undead and searching for Carey)
