Hey I’m rewatching atla what kind of benders do you think the batfam characterss would be?
Oh man it's been such a fun night for asks ♡♡
Bruce -> Water bender. The power to heal, the power to fuck you up, and the most adaptable and curiously overpowered of the elements.
Dick -> Fire (or air really). Hello I'm biased because cool Shaolin style and he's my favourite. But for me it's the moments with Iroh and Jeong Jeong that show another side of the firebending philosophy that he slots into. But he'd fit well into air.
Jay -> Air bender or water... I do lean more to air. Wait what no. He's a Kyoshi type. Ugh. I still see him as air a wee bit. For the principles.
Tim -> Fire bender (cop out but a) the industrial thing and fuck around and find out attitude is very real)
Steph -> Water bender, for lots of reasons, chiefly that she's underestimated, unexpectedly all or nothing (mercurial as water is). Also I think she'd really enjoy splashing people. And healing, that's another reason.
Cass -> Earth bender. The Toph sensing thing is an obvious one but also there's something about the "bluntness". She could also be air.
Dami -> Air bender, so much of Legends of Korra's handling of air can fit neatly into what I think about his development
Duke -> I was gonna say fire but that seems so obvious... Probably earth (it's determination for me, the fact that it held out for centuries, the building something aspect mayhaps). Maybe he's divergent.

entirely self indulgent ask, but what elemental bending would you assign batfam?
This is a very quick and vibes-based answer:
Water: Cass, Damian
Fire: Jason, Helena
Earth: Bruce, Barbara, Stephanie, Duke
Air: Dick, Tim
However the real answer is that nearly all (if not all) of them would be elite chi-blocking non-benders like Ty Lee and the Equalist fighters.

if the batboys were in the atla universe, do you think they'd be benders and which kind? i feel like dick would be air, jason earth(?), tim water, steph earth, cass air, damian fire, duke (weirdly i think) fire, and bruce i think would be a nonbender.
Tumblr media
I saw someone on TikTok saying Tim as a water bender who could also blood bend and now I can't get that out of my head. Tim would be scarily initiative about water bending

WORD VOMIT RE: Jet's attitude towards his decisions.
another reason i wanna kiss whoever wrote and directed jet's episode is the fact in the cartoon, jet was absolutely hyped about blowing up the dam and knew deep down it was bad because he shielded the gaang from it even if he was upfront with the freedom fighters and confirming with the duke that innocents would die but thats the price --- but still later smiling and saying theyre going to have a great victory over the fire nation after sokka is taken away.
in the liveaction, the cockiness jet has is when he's amused the gaang thinks they're slick for trying to sneak in, when he's helping them sneak in because he thinks its amusing and a helping hand, and the face of a threat: when the fire benders are found waiting for him in the forest to kill him for spying on them and hes ready to fight them back. Then, he's smiling at the camp when he's announcing who they are and what their goal is: freedom and protecting their home because no one else has their back.
Outside of this, Jet is very somber and expresses a lot of stress. For example, when he stops Katara from making herself known too early when Sai is talking to the spy then when Katara confronts him. What really stood out to me was when Katara walked up and Smellerbee was exchanging a look with him. They both looked really stressed and uncomfortable before she even came around the corner, but then especially. The look Smellerbee gave to Jet really said a thousand words, like they've been having a lot of discussions about involving her in their mission and an almost 'I told you so.' (sidenote: they did a wonderful job with nonverbals). Jet immediately puts his foot down about it not being the time then also not denying what he was doing when confronted. When he explains why he’s doing it, even as he smiles a little when saying they know how to take out the trash, its spoken with so much ire because he’s doing what he feels he needs to — and it hurts its your own people that let you down. He smiles because he’s in pain and overall feeling of ‘This is what happens when these people think they could get away with it. They have us to reckon with.’
What was significant to me was the lack of ego. This was someone who had full understanding that what he was doing wasn't something to boast about, but a building frustration tying with "IF NOT US, WHO?" What Katara didn't understand was the difference between herself and Jet, what defines being 'the good guy.' Jet was someone so acutely aware of his lack of privileges and the fear that drives the 'hard decisions' for the sake of collective. Hard decisions that put the very people you're trying to protect at risk because they were in the wrong place and the wrong time, but more would be at risk if they didn't act immediately. It's ugly, messy, imperfect -- and Jet is aware. He is not excited about any of this. Instead, he's pissed he feels he has no other choice because no adult after his parents did anything to help him. So it's all up to him, to him. ((cartoon implied these attitudes but I still spent years trying to get it through jet anti’s heads ))
And assassinating a KING and almost effortlessly succeeding is ... quite something. Impulsive, but pretty impressive. Sad, too, that it would be so easy. Everything Jet had to say about Bumi in this universe was true. Bumi lost his nerve, he was surrounded in privilege, he wasn't doing anything to really stop the corruption, and he fell into despair. Sure, Aang got through to him. Sure, Sai changed his ways and drew away from his treason with risk following. Sure. But we know what's going to inevitably happen, unless they decide to change it: Bumi happily lets Omashu get overtaken by the Fire Nation and orders all his guards to "do nothing" without any explanation. We better see Jet in Season 2 talk about his perspective here because the changes they did have me buzzing with theories. He would be livid and seemingly 100% right about King Bumi. ((Unfortunately, he is also destined to die before finding out about Bumi's plans to take Omashu back the day of the solar eclipse, but it doesn't matter because Jet would not have forgiven him for that terror.))
Anyway, they did a great job humanizing him while making him a foil to her. In the original, Jet was Sokka's foil, but I think it works so well to make him Katara's -- as they both become the most vocal and impulsive social justice activists. So seeing them fight and discuss what it meant to be a 'traitor' and 'unforgivable' was fascinating. They were actually able to have two separate discussions on the matter -- one where Katara confronted Jet to call him a traitor and when Jet confronted Katara to call her one in return.
I love how in the original, Sokka was able to prove he is a good leader in his own way by showing empathy for all and not willing to risk innocent lives ever, which gets Aang and Katara's respect after so much ridicule and comparisons. In contrast, I also love how they decided to go an alternate route because with Jet's impact on Katara that had such a lasting impression, this change did their dynamic justice. It sets up season 2 very well in how they'll engage with each other again.
I also love how Katara is able to reflect on Jet with criticism, but also understanding and a moment of gratitude. It feels a lot better than his simple flattery followed with manipulating her for her powers, and audiences feeling unsure how much of his flirting was genuine. Mind you, helps her story and establishes trust issues around being used (factors into her other plotlines), but it's such a disservice to Jet in return. I'm a big advocate of 'you don't have to completely demonize and ruin a character for the sake of uplifting another, the other should be able to stand on their own.'

i watched a bunch of videos on how bad the netflix adaption of atla is and anyway here's my ygo atla au thoughts
i guess yugi making the avatar is the easiest solution he is extremely aang-like (aang's kuzon speech and saying to zuko "do you think we could've been friends" is a stand out moment) and actually you know what his play tactics of evade and weave work well with aang's airbending (i was going to point to a specific fight with zuko but actually i'm watching the first episode it's every fight with zuko) so okay airbender it is
(i also like the idea of maybe pulling in some season 0 ideas of this alternate side of him that takes revenge and it's possible maybe he finds relief in his avatar state maybe he's so used to being powerless that feeling that powerful feels good and it scares him)
anzu is also a really good katara stand in ("DON'T YELL AT HIM") ultimate he asked for no pickles energy i actually think she'd do better as an airbender it would match her fairy deck and i think it'd be cute for yugi and anzu to grow up together in the air temple maybe he took her with her when he ran away it kinda muddies the whole "last airbender" thing and i like the idea of the yugi gaang representing all four elements so i'll stick with waterbender for her
honda is easy he's an earthbender look at him i do like regular guy honda and generally try to keep him un-magical in magical settings but that boy is an earthbender signed up with the earth kingdom army to fight firebenders and probably has a good reason for leaving and joining up with the gaang
katsuya firebender we all saw it coming i think it might be interesting to make him "mixed" and that also lets me do other things with serenity so maybe he's from an occupied earth kingdom town he definitely struggles to control his firebending he just gets too excited and isn't patient (much like aang when he learns firebending) and much like his arc in the show he gets stronger and more in control
seto kaiba is a zuko-esque figure to me, motivated by all the wrong things, pushing him to take extreme and harmful actions, even though deep down he is a good person, but actually you know who i love not giving magical powers to in a magical world? seto kaiba babyyyyyyy he has to scrap and create and bring himself up in a world where people have inherent magic abilities and that's just so him isn't it? i think it's possible he's a non-bender from another nation (i'm thinking earth kingdom? put your own thoughts in the replies) much like the mechanist from the northern air temple he was pulled and adopted by gozaburo for his technological mind and to create war machines, giving a position but no power, but seto kaiba is anti-war so he bounces the fuck out of there i guess that makes him not a villain and just like part of the gaang? maybe? idk i don't actually have like A Plot for this
yugi being the avatar sets up yami/atem as a roku mentor figure which i actually like
mai is just jun that's the character
make ryou a spirit i don't know which just do it
duke in a fire nation circus non-bender probably also an assassin sent to kill yugi it's okay tho they become friends
uuuuuh who else there's like 12 whole characters in yugioh i don't see any characters as a stand in for ozai except maybe alexander from capsule monsters??? is that a weird pull??? yeah i watched capsule monsters and not the final season of the show fight me nerds
pegasus.... definitely a sell out to the fire nation i don't know if i want him to be fire nation i kinda like the idea of him being like i see the way the wind blows maybe it's his quest to find the avatar and track down yugi that would put him in a better antagonistic role and have a reason for them to keep running into him
mokuba earth bending prodigy probably why seto had to get him out of there i guess that makes him the toph of this au??? unclear will reexamine
zigfried fire nation shill has a beach episode with seto who spends the whole time trying to drown him in the ocean
uuuuh got nothing for the ishtars sorry feel free to reply

The Batfam as benders:

What benders would the batfam be??
So, here we go with another one of my au thingies for my own au thingie. This time its Atla Themed! (Avatar: The last Airbender for those who don't know)
So when picking a time period of when this would happen, I thought about this quite a bit, I think it would be a couple of avatar cycles after Korra. Technology has progressed to the point where Bruce still does his dark Knight routine.
Okay, here we goooooo!
Alfred: He was a special operative in the Fire Nations army. He is a Fire Bender, and also knows chi blocking. After he retired from the army he was employed by the late Waynes as a butler and bodyguard where they lived in Republic City.
Bruce: Bruce is actually a Non-bender, although this does not mean he is less of a fighter against any bender. He's traveled all over the world and nations learning different styles of fighting. After returning back to his home in Republic City he started going out at knight as a masked vigilante based off of a bat spirit. He uses all the fighting techniques he learned while traveling as well as chi blocking, and technology.
Barbara: She's like Asami in the way that she is very tech savvy. Although she is an Earth Bender, who can use the subskill of Metal Bending. She moved to republic city with her father when he got a job on the police force there. They moved from a village on the edge of the Earth Kingdom, close to the Northern Water Tribe.
Dick: He is an Air Bender and is actually the person who taught Duck the subskill of Flight. His parents were Non-Bending Air Nomads and found their place in Haly's Traveling Circus. The circus was attacked while in Republic City, and not long after Dick was taken under Bruces wing and later adopted. He never got his arrow tattoos.
Jason: Before he died, he was sure that he was a Non-Bender, so he was trained in chi blocking. He was killed and was brought back by the healing waters of Lazarus, brought back as an Earth Bender with use of the subskill Lava Bending. His biological mother was and Earth Bender like him, and his father is from Fire Bender descent. There's the reason he can Lava Bend.
Cass: She is a Water Bender and uses a technique to use water to muffle her footsteps. She was trained in the subskill of Blood Bending while with the League. After joining Bruce, she was taught how to incorporate chi blocking into her fighting style instead of killing people. Her mother, Lady Shiva, is an Air Bender, and this allows her to bend the clouds (yes, they are made of water but also made of air. Only really talented benders or those that have Air Bending ancestry are able to do so. I'll explain more later if ya'll want.) and use them to shroud her presence.
Steph: She is a Non-Bender, this was something her father Cluemaster was not happy about. She took to the streets to fight him and learned chi blocking on her own, and later learned under Barbara and Bruce.
Duke: The Avatar of this time, born in the Earth kingdom. He is able to bend all four elements and also utilizes the subskills of flight and Spiritual projection from Airbending.
Tim: He is a Fire Bender, one of the few things he gets from his father. Along with his intelligence he also uses the subskill Lightning Bending, which he uses through his bo staff when fighting with it. he also learned chi blocking. As a result of his mothers Water Bending heritage he is able to make cold flames that people can walk through.
Trace: They are a Water Bender, from their mother's side of their family. Janet Drake wasn't a Water Bender like Jack Drake was a Fire Bender though. She discovered her ability for the subskill of healing after a nasty fight with a Non-Bender called the Joker landed some really bad hits on the people involved. They are able to heat their water to unbearable degrees because of their fathers Fire Bending. They are also trained in chi blocking
Damian: He is a Fire Bender, from his mother as Bruce is a Non-Bender. While raised in the League he was taught chi blocking as well as Lightning Bending. He was forced to try and learn the subskills of Lava Bending and Metal Bending. He was unable to Lava Bend but showed an ability for Metal Bending. He hasn't been able to hone his Metal Bending as of late, and is reluctantly learning more about Lightning Bending from Tim.

ALTA Live Actions Episode 2 Review/Analysis
⚠️SPOILERS⚠️
I think the second episode was good. I like the added details that weren’t included in the cartoon.
First we have Aang, Katara and Sokka at the Southern Air Temple. The three of them were talking about going to Kyoshi island. After Aang runs off, Katara and Sokka have a little argument about going home. Katara wants to help fight and save the world while Sokka wants to protect his village.
One thing the live action ATLA added was the scene where Aang covers Monk Gyatso with the stones and just kind of gives him a farewell. One thing that wasn’t added that should have been was the scene where the three of them walk into the Avatar room.
The gang arrives at Kyoshi Island and the Kyoshi warriors take them down like in the cartoon. After being caught they are brought to Suki’s mother. I like how the live action ATLA introduces Suki’s mother and gives her a “I don’t really trust these kids” kind of vibe. And of course Sokka’s sexism was toned down which is a good thing because the things he said in the cartoon would not be okay to say today. So instead of Suki teaching Sokka to respect women, she taught him how to be a better warrior.
Now we cut to the Fire Nation. Zuko and Iroh are at some port in the Fire Nation where they ask Commander Zhao to “look for the migration patterns of a certain sea animal” and Commander Ziao obviously found out what was really going on, and took a ship to Kyoshi Island.
The scene where Aang and Kyoshi were taking was really cool. Kyoshi was kind of cruel though. In the cartoon she was stern but kept the fact that Aang was a kid in mind. Not in the live action.
So the Fire Nation and the Kyoshi Warriors duke it out and Kyoshi who is really Aang saves everyone. Suki’s mother then goes to say that Aang has given the village hope again.
The Gang starts to head north and Zuko was upset about not catching the Avatar. Commander Zhao sends out a note to Fire Lord Ozai saying that he has found the Avatar.
Some bonus scenes that I really enjoyed
I like Katara’s moments with Aang. Aang may not be hunting for elephant koi, but he’s still being a kid.
The details of the water bending scroll and Katara’s connection to her grandmother. Gran-Gran knew this whole time that Katara was a water bender and gave the scroll to her before setting off.
Suki and Sokka fall in love almost immediately. I wished to have seen some more development between them first. Maybe kissing is book 2?
Overall I give this episode an 8/10

one vague ATLA idea I have in mind for AU stuff is less specific but more of a broad AU spectrum and the general point is that instead of Team Avatar being a fairly small central group, they pick up people as they go along so that the folk who join them in the Zuko Friendship Arc and flee at the begining of the Southern Raiders stick around since their introduction; Haru, maybe a few members of Jet's crew, perhaps Jee from Zuko's crew following the end of Book Water, Chit Sang after the boiling rock, maybe even Iroh throughout Book One as a more extreme AU where Aang accidentally incapacitates Zuko and takes him hostage early on and Iroh and Zuko's crew go 'oh nooooo you have captured us and we're with you now I guess' while Iroh low key attempts to provide Aang perspective on the Fire Nation for dealing with them and some basics on Firebending philosophy, but anyway who else do you think would be interesting to see in this kind of AU joining up with Aang and his mission to free the world
Answering this TEN DAYS LATER OOPS
Personally I haven't thought about anyone else joining the gaang outside of Zuko joining the gaang early plots. First, I wouldn't include any of the adults. While yeah, there's something wrong with their world in the fact that actual teenagers have to save it from a century of war, if we actually stuck one of the adults into the group dynamics, they would alter the story and themes in a way I don't find satisfying. Too many of their own motivations and personal hang ups. Iroh works for Zuko because Zuko doesn't really have friends or any other social support, but even so to get to the core of Zuko, we have to separate Iroh's direct influence on him.
So for the other kids: NGL I think Haru as a character is boring. he's dry wheat toast. He exists only as a vessel for katara's hero complex. Teo could be a lot of fun; him and Aang play off each other really well, and it would give us more non-bender rep.
Jet I could not see willingly giving up his leadership role and joining the gaang. He might butt heads with Sokka first, but eventually he would piss off "everyone works together and does their fair share" katara, "I don't respect any form of authority" toph, and even "we're all friends and equals here" aang when he won't give any slack to the reigns-- metaphorically but also possibly literally. Similarly, I don't think smellerbee or longshot would willingly leave jet.
I love The Duke and Toph's relationship. I would have thought of anyone in the gaang for him to latch onto he would have gone with Aang or Sokka, but him looking up to and becoming really good friends with Toph is just really good. And him and Pipsqueak are more non bender rep too!
Suki joining the gaang earlier than canon would be great, especially if she brought a couple other kyoshi warriors along with and we got to see more of their dynamic as a group! Plus more sukka, and Sokka in the kw outfit.
Yue. Alright I apparently lied above, Yue is definitely one that I've thought about joining the gaang. In AUs where Yue lives, her getting out of the North and coming into her own as a person who can assert her expertise and authority is a big deal for her. Might also add some fascinating conflict: did she leave with Arnook's blessing or did she see an opportunity and leap??
Thousands of words have been devoted to the "zuko joins the gaang early" tag, but here's mine:
Zuko knows Azula. He knows not to trust when she puts her hands up and claims defeat. It's an old, old trick, not even a clever one, and they both know it. When her smile falls on uncle, Zuko doesn't even think twice. He's burned before. He knows how. Sinks into that familiar pain like an embrace from an old friend.
Iroh is horrified when Zuko drops like a stone (sick with guilt that he has to see this again, again, it never seems to end). Zuko stays down. His nephew never stays down. He begs the gaang for help, pleads for a mercy he knows neither of them have yet earned. They hesitate, but Toph also insists; Mushi, Iroh, whoever he is, he was kind to her. Whatever his nephew did, the other kids are alive and whole enough to bitch about him, so it couldn't have been so bad as to deserve a slow, painful death.
Katara pulls back his clothes, revealing the burns, the deep purple-black bruises from his fight with the earthbender soldiers, his starvation and exhaustion. It's abundantly clear to everyone that Zuko needs more help than they can give just standing around in an abandoned desert town, and the kids are exhausted. Iroh asks one more favor, a big one: watch over his nephew and keep him out of trouble while Iroh tracks down some old friends who will help find someplace safe for them to hide.
It's only supposed to be temporary, but now the gaang have to deal with wrangling a cranky, ornery firebender who's ass much a threat to himself as he is to them.

can you tell us more about those atla ocs in that one art you made?
Omg! ya! They are actually for the avatar rpg! The setting is during the Hundred Years War, so roughly a couple years after Aang disappeared.
original post
Tumblr media
Navi ^ is the youngest (13) is an airbender that escaped the firenation's attack on the air nomads, and is living in hiding, not knowing what has become of the air nomads other than they probably have been wiped out? She is apprentice to the cabbage man in the earth kingdom, and covers her tattoos to blend in. She belongs to my friend who doesn't have a tumblr
Tumblr media
Ji Chuhua is an earthbender but more importantly, she works as a matchmaker/fortuneteller for the upper class in Ba Sing Se. She lives/is kept up in a nice house with a tea shop that she seldom leaves, only to go to nobles houses or parties (not often). After getting a vision about an air bender in danger, she makes the tough choice to leave her home and ensure this air bender (navi) is safe as she feels she can't say anything out of fear of the fire nation soldiers finding her. She is enjoying her freedom (though cries about the new living situation aka camping) more than she thought. She is a talented earth bender, but hasn't really practised openly until now. She is between her duty (return to her role) and her freedom (travel, be her own person, live for herself). She is my character and is in her mid 30's
Tumblr media
Fenfang Wheat is an ex firenation general turned earth kingdom farmer after he realized the atrocities the fire nation was committing agains the rest of the world. With the fake name, Fenfang Wheat, and his life behind him, he went into hiding.... but not for long. His path collided with Chuhua and Navi when their fates intertwined in his village. Just as Chuhua found Navi, the girl in her dreams, fire nation soldiers began interogating/attacking the village on a hint that an air nomad was living there. Fenfang helped defend the two women, only to give himself away as a fire bender, and chaos ensued with the three getting away. Chuhua was ready to defend Navi with the little earth bending she knew, ready to duke it out with Fenfang before he explained he was trying to help. After proving his loyalties were no longer with the fire nation, he joined the two. He belongs to @haijynks and he's in his earlthy 40's!
Together the 3 of them have formed a pseudo family, often pretending Navi is their child as they travel through the earth kingdom, unsure of where to turn.
The three of them are extremely funny and so fun to play, we've only had 1 game but so much nonsense ensued, with people assuming Chuhua is older than she is (and she is then offended), Navi asking questions only a 13 year old would ask, and Fenfang ready with some sage advice
Tumblr media Tumblr media
chuhua distracting firenation guards while fenfang sneaks out a prisoner and navi airbends herself out of a chimney

I wanna do more art of these knuckleheads but dunno what!

17, 20, and 22 for arjibi and dogmark 👉👈
17: Who would your OC main in Super Smash Bros?
Arjbi: Arji wouldn't have a main, he'd just pick whoever looked like fun to bop around the screen while everyone else is duking it out. He is usually the first to get KO'd, but that's fine because he prefers to watch (and he's the only person who ever wants to play on stage randomizer with items on)
Dogmark: idk anything about the current roster, but probably Fire Emblem Sword Boy Du Jour? In melee/brawl he would be a Marth main though. Never played at any sort of competitive level, but he was still pretty good at it. Currently has a hard time holding game controllers on account of his claws and paw beans, especially the teeny tiny buttons on the switch
20: What role would your OC play in a heist story?
Arjibi: He's the infiltrator! He's got Alter Self, Subtle Spell, 20 Charisma, and proficiency in acrobatics. You won't even know he's there. He's in your vents. He's talked past all the guards. He hates stealing, but he loves to be included in group activities.
Dogmark: Getaway driver. He's too nervous to actually be part of the operation, but he's got a lead foot and he's a pretty solid driver. Plus, if they still end up getting caught, he can definitely outrun the cops on foot in dog form.
22: What type of Avatar The Last Airbender-type bender (or non-bender) would your OC be? Any bending specialties?
Arjibi: Firebender, but incorporates more than a few airbending techniques. He has a really flashy, showy style that's built more for performance than for any sort of combat. Think like... circus acrobats, but with fire.
Dogmark: Supposed non-bender for most of his life, but in reality just never had the opportunity to discover and hone his bending abilities. By the time he learned he was actually a bender the whole time, he'd aged out of most of the available training programs. Unsure what element though! Water maybe?

If only for the interest of fairness totally would be sweet if Zuko and his water bender bf got a scene like the cave dance with aang and katara.
Sokka gets ahold of an old tsungi horn from the Western Air Temple and maybe Haru or The Duke teaches him how to play, and Aang teaches them a Fire Nation dance and Zuko and his bf suddenly move like they were born to dance these old steps.

There aren't a lot of reincarnating klance fic to choose from so i will make some ideals myself (•́⌄•́๑)૭✧
In this world there are four type of people with four abilities.
The first one is the ability to bend elements or cast spell ,they are called sorcerer each person can bend one element.(only the worthy one can bend more than one and one with the most ability is water bender : not only can they bend water they can also bend clouds, ice, blood, spirits and healing )
The second one is the ability to transfer mana to their weapons.the are called warrior
The third one is ones that dont have any abilities
The last one is the saint who can heal people can heal messages from god.
This is Lance Deangelo Mcclain second life, he is the duke's youngest son with the power to bend water, in his previous he was Keith's (Solomon Kogane) rival. Keith is the result of an affair between Krolia Holloway kogane and a villager name ken. Keith was a lone wolf, who was scared by nearly everyone because of his power : the ability to control fire and transfer his mana into his weapons. To be honest lance was the only student beside Lotor Damon Daizara to ever talked to keith.
He would alway try to compete with keith, never leaving him alone, they even ended up loving the same girl who is a commonar that was chosen to be the saint althought she hasn't have any power yet but with a kind heart . He later found out that ....(oc's name) have three other suitors as well. Heartbreak lance stand down and met another man name Ryan Fletcher kinkade (his new best friend) but both got killed by none other than keith, who was control by someone (but lance didn't know this). So in this life he decided that his and ryan's dead was all because of keith so he quits being his rival and avoid him. He meet ryan again and finds out he also remember his past life (and his feelings for lance).
Keith is quit sock that mcclain stopped talking to him, inviting him to some stupid competitions, and avoid him. It was peaceful at first but soon he got lonely because mcclain was one of the only peoples who doesn't treated him like shit when talking to him. True mcclain is..well was his rival but lance respected him, treated him like his equal, he never insult keith other than his hair and doesn't talk about keith's father infront of him. He invited lance to competitions himself but got rejected because lance was hanging out with his other friend Tsuyoshi Aurelie Garrett , Darrell Stoker Katie Holt and the new transfer student name ryan fletcher kinkade or just making excuses to avoid keith. There a rumor that lance and kinkade( like what kind of last name is kinkade ? ) is dating because of their interactions toward eachother (come on!!! ryance ? What kind of ship name is that ? Klance is so much better ). Another rumor that a commonar girl have been chosen to be the saint, who is studying at this school like keith (so ? Like he care about some stupid saint. His main priority now is how to make lance notice him again, like thing used to or maybe be his friend and how manly children would they have)
He thought that lance would never even look at him again and he will die in loneliness but one night he found LANCE IN HIS BED DRUNK AND HALF NAKED(IS GOD TRYING TO TELL HIM SOMTHING....? OR IS THIS WHAT SHIRO MEAN BY PATIENCE YIELDS FOCUS..?) and should he go for it ?

One of my on-going project snippets. Avatar!Steve
“Why is Danny’s place still frozen?” Steve demanded as soon as he saw Duke.
“Our water-benders are trying, but there is a limit to their ability,” Duke replied.
Steve’s clarity was being disrupted by his worry over Danny, so he snapped, “Limit? It’s ice! They’re water-benders!”
Duke often revered to Steve with the respect gained by his rank, in both military and as Avatar, as well as the respect he was born with as a McGarrett. But in that moment, he was an older Hawaiian native who gave a strict gaze as he reminded Steve of where they lived. “You have traveled far and seen many other places. Maybe it has escaped your memory that out of all the benders that live or visit our small islands, water is arguably the one with most restrictions and rules. Only a limited few water-bending masters exist here who are experienced with colder temperatures and ice or snow manipulation.”
Steve closed his eyes for a moment to collect himself before he opened them again and apologized. “Sorry, Duke. It’s...it’s Danny, y’know?”
“I do. And I know that there’s no one else on this island who knows those ice bending restrictions better than him. Given how much flack he got in the early months of him being here. So I understand your concern...but these ice structures were created by Danny himself. They’re fortified with the strength that will take the Hawaiian August sun hours to melt. We can’t get inside yet.”
“Yeah, well...I’m here now. Let me work.” It was nearly a threat but it most certainly was a warning. Duke called off the benders and let Steve try.
Steve has begun his water bending training but it was with the basics. Learning to alter the water’s temperature to make it freeze or unfreeze wasn’t anywhere near the curriculum. Didn’t mean he didn’t try. Except he was too angry because he didn’t want to be worried.
So he stopped trying to water-bend the ice away and instead unleashed his fury with his fire-bending until he saw some of the ice give way before earth-bending a stalagmite to shatter it’s way through.
I started thinking about world building rules and them being applied to different fandom. Implementing the Avatar bending to H50, and it made me think. Being surrounded by so much water, water benders are pretty dangerous. They always have a weapon, and if they’re mastered it enough the humidity in the air, even if there isn’t an obvious body of water, they still have access to it( never mind potential gangs and criminal organization potentially having Blood Benders).
Then I was thinking, how much of the average tourist would a)not know a fuck shit about the proper water temperature a place, it’s plant life, and animal life need to remain stable? And b)would be assholes to try and make their own waves or bigger waves or retaliate against anyone or to show off?
Beaches in an Avatar AU would have STRICT rules in place. Lifeguards might need to be specially trained to like a military level to secure the peace, ensure the safety of native plant and animal life.
Water benders, no matter the profession or life style they lead/live, if they’re in Hawaii they are limited to just water bending. Healing, yes...but when it comes to temperature control...there are like...two official water bending MASTERS who know how to turn water into snow or ice. And it’s become a thing where it’s just been like that for so long that no one really questions it unless they’re not from there.
I made Danny a Water-Bender and with how winters are on the east coast, and because I personally headcanon Danny to just have a more affinity to colder climates, to him ice and snow are second nature. And because he came from a big city where younger water benders as young as 7-8 year olds make their first bit of chump change by offering to snow-bend the drive ways of little old ladies or get more allowance if they wake up and defrost their parent’s car...when Danny first came to Hawaii as he followed Grace, seen as an outsider with the element that may have the most restrictions, particularly in his specialty. It was hard but Danny learned to ‘control’ himself..aka adjust his mannerism. (He’s always in control. Just...things that were normal for him are a big deal on the island, but he has never been out of control of his element. Danny is also a Blood Bender and that’s why but it’s not knowledge anyone knows and he’s terrified of anyone learning)
Steve has seen plenty of Danny’s power, potential, and most importantly his control. It’s why Steve chose Danny to be his Water bending master instead of the native Hawaiian born they wanted to assign him. There are also a lot of deeper feelings involved, so Steve hearing that Danny elsa fortressed himself means something is very wrong!
but on like a lighter note, when they need something from Kamekona, Danny has bribed him with water-bending him x-lbs of shaved ice.
