Pictured: Loop being extremely normal as they lay in their shallow (homemade) grave as they meditate on existence and also if they have annoyed the Researcher enough THIS time for her to murder them and bury them alive.

And there is the required reverse image of Odile arriving - she's had a LONG day (i.e. previous loop), and due to this it will take ten minutes before she even acknowledges the shallow grave Loop is laying in, as she was distracted complaining about what Siffrin just did to annoy her.

I'd say there's context for all of that, because like...there IS context? Here's the link to the series of fics that HAS that context even! But also...even with context...can't say that it's going to make any of this less weird.
Mostly Odile is looping because due to Loop's wish the universe got rewritten to make Siffrin's repression and emotional issues (the ones bad enough to get him stuck in a time loop in the game) 'someone else's' problem...or at least that's Loop's best theory atm!
Regardless, context or not, I'm quite happy with how the pics came out, and figured I might as well post them here too.

I had a mildly cursed thought so naturally I thought I'd share it. We never really get much detail about erotica in Ankh-Morpork but it definitely exists. We know there are romance novels, after all, so there are definitely scandalous bodice-rippers out there, if the Ankh-Morpork citizenry still have it in them to be scandalised. Which means it's basically guaranteed that there's golem erotica.
Think about it. Big strong clay man...never shows emotion...endless stamina...his one function is to serve... There are 100% people in Ankh-Morpork sighing and squealing over erotic golem content.

I've been following @druidposting's DR2 playthrough on discord and we just had a really good discussion about DR's Closing Arguments. Specifically the way the murderer is depicted as grey and featureless, which until now I found a bit annoying.
In Danganronpa it's repeatedly the case that we don't have the full picture until the talking actually stops- which always goes beyond the end of the trial. We generally vote first and come to understand what the murderer's actual motive was, sometimes filling in important pieces of the timeline in the process, afterwards.
But none of that matters for the killing game because characters' emotions aren't directly relevant to who was the 'blackened'- the only thing that matters to Monokuma- so it comes out afterwards and does nothing to change their execution. It doesn't matter how sympathetic they are (basically everyone) or whether other people share responsibility for the situation (eg. Hanamura, Pekoyama, Momota) or whether they intended to murder at all (Nanami). They objectively pulled the trigger and nothing else matters. Nothing about them as a person matters.
The Closing Argument mechanic might illustrate that problem- literally. They're a dramatic, conclusive summary of the entire case... constructed before the vote even happens, before we know if we're actually right, and they're missing something really important:

The actual perpetrator.
We quite literally don't even begin to see the real person behind the crime, any real exploration of their mental state, anything besides the cold, hard facts of the murder that are necessary to convict them, until the comic finishes and the protagonist makes their final accusation- replacing the grey figure with their real appearance in a shot that's often intensely emotional.
And these comics lack crucial parts of the case's timeline and sometimes important parts of the very scenes they depict that we only find out about afterwards. And those are what we know; characters may die with some pieces of the truth and prevent us from ever learning them. These aren't objective depictions of the murder, they're the protagonist's subjective attempt to connect the facts they have. A join-the-dots portrait of someone with missing dots and no colour.
Even characters' expressions may not match how they truly feel, with the grey placeholder potentially looking way more confident and sinister than they were in reality. Pasting Falter's commentary here since they put it well.

For obvious reasons this could especially be a problem for characters that die before the trial- the ones we never get a post-vote testimony from. DR1 chapter 4 really highlighted that in the way Asahina's huge misinterpretation of Oogami's feelings took up a lot of the post-trial discussion, only for Monokuma to reveal Oogami's real suicide note and recontextualise everything.
It might really be a problem for how Komaeda's depicted in DR2 chapter 5. While he isn't greyed out, we get panel after panel where he's either level-headed or maniacally evil, and even the depictions of his self-torture and death don't humanise him:

But we know that his real feelings were more complicated than that. We have his actual corpse to compare the last page to.
He died afraid.

If we approach the comic as Hinata's mental image of him instead of reality, he died without anyone truly understanding him. He was alarming, very hard to relate to, actively fought against people doing so, ensured even the killer didn't watch him die, and the survivors couldn't begin to understand his motive until a chapter later. The Closing Argument reflects that.
Early in DR1 Togami calls out the rest of his class for judging others by their own standards. However, he, too, is doing this, maybe more so than many other characters; his inability to view other people through anything but the cold, brutal logic of the killing game bites him in the ass in chapter 4. In DR2 chapter 2 voting without a good understanding of Pekoyama's motive or Kuzuryuu's involvement nearly got everyone killed. Komaeda's a walking embodiment of the problems with flattening people into caricatures and not empathising with them, suffered from people doing that back to him, and his case- the Closing Argument for which turned everyone else into grey placeholders- was impossible to solve with objective facts. It was only survivable because the survivors cooperated and one person tried to analyse things the way he would.
The games have always been a critique of the justice system and Japanese society and push us to care about others as individuals, not reduce them to- and judge their right to exist by- something they've done or their net impact on society. There are always consequences when someone neglects to do that, and the above might be yet another way the games explore that theme.

once again thinking about how satosugu was used in death.
suguru, someone that turned into a curse user to ensure sorcerers wouldn’t die for a foolish reason, having his body used by a curse user to ensure sorcerers would kill each other in a death game.
satoru, someone that believed in the youth and endless times gambled with his own life to protect them, having his body used by a student in the hopes of overcoming this wretched thing walking freely.
how said student was the one to ultimately defeat suguru because he was willing to die for his friends. how yuta didn’t care about any foolish lie the sorcerers (aka suguru and kento) told themselves and fully accepted that dying for love was the right thing to do.

right, okay so as a celebration or something for the sudden explosion of popularity i find myself in, here's this

and now, i shall go in-depth about each phase i trekked and waded through like a heron in dolphin-infested waters. Phase 1: I had just begun Wings of Fire. I was small, innocent, horrorless (that I knew of at the time anyway but that's a whole other can of worms), and still had some good whimsy left in me in spite of It All. I had a simple style that had the charm of a young creature attempting to draw cool dragons. I also had no idea what digital art was. I was simply a sketcher, a traditional artist with a love for the pencil. I was a real good egg of a wee critter.
Phase 2: Still somewhat in the beginnings, and my art style developing rapidly. I took inspiration from as many artists as I could get my eyes on (specifically XTheDragonRebornX, the goat imo). Though not quite as innocent as I used to be, I was still chill and had now learned about digital art, but I had never once considered doing it myself (not yet anyway).
Phase 3: Gosh, this phase destroyed me. Well, rather, I destroyed myself. I'm not going to slander my younger self; I was in a delicate stage of my life and thus so was my art style as well. I had gotten into youtube channels like Inquisitormaster and whatnot, and I got. way too involved in it, to put it extremely lightly anyway. At this point in my journey I had also garnered the desire to begin digital art and post on DeviantArt (classic, classic). And thus, I began absorbing all the wrong tactics from all the wrong sources and trying to become a person that I was not, and it got me onto a path I don't think I was ever supposed to go down in the first place. Or maybe I was. I dunno, but the whole ordeal was quite ridiculous, quite ridiculous indeed. I dug a grave for the magic I saw and created in life I never should have, I'm afraid. It's hard to perceive by just looking at the style I had back then, but I was, in fact, quite dead inside from that choice.
Phase 4: After staring at the gravestone of my childhood silliness for a good long while, I finally realized the error of my ways and dug up those old bones of whimsy. I was finally learning how to adopt aspects of art styles that I didn't just think other people would like, but that I liked, as well. Though I didn't realize it then, I was taking a huge step into progress, and I commend my older self for that. I took inspiration from artists uhhh that one fish person and whatnot. I took on softer features, finding them to be more relaxing to draw than the sharper edges I had wielded in my previous art.
Phase 5: And here folks is where we can see where Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles infiltrated my life, and my sense of whimsy had returned fully at last. At this point, I decided to take a more cozy approach to how I drew, having the desire to draw like I was illustrating a bedtime story (it was in need of much work, but I improved I promise). I also knew much, much more about Wings of Fire and its faults, and though I was much less knowledgeable about how to go about it and some of the actual good things about it, I was much more level-headed than I was previously. And thus, I had the thought: "okay. I like Wings of Fire (in spite of its many imperfections), and I like ninja turtles (which has peak writing and storytelling and is just spectaculous in general). So, what if, perchance, mayhaps, I combined the two?" And thus, my Rise of the Wings of Fire (or whatever I'm gonna call it, I'm still mondering about the name) began.
Phase 6: After a long, grueling, harrowing journey of self-discovery and stupid decisions and all that jazz, we now see the art style I have now: semi-realistic with more expression than the live action Lion King would ever care to incorporate. Along with incorporating aspects of other styles that I like, I also decided to start including more animalistic traits to my Creatures (ie: blue whale eyes for SeaWings, porcupine/tenrec quills for IceWings, etc etc), which, in my opinion, greatly improved my art style, along with the fact that I began playing around with other digital brushes and filters (random noise my love). I'm still developing and learning, but overall, I'm quite satisfied with where I am.
And there you have it folks. If you've made it this far without getting bored, congrats!! you now know a little bit more about me than you probably ever cared to, which is fine by me. I may have paved this road but my man it was your choice to walk on it.
