“Ain't you ever heard of 'southern hospitality'?” click, metal to his temple. “'Jus kiddin'. It does beg the question, though: why haven't you tried runnin' for your life yet? Ain't you heard of a wanted man on the prowl?”

Eyes traced the flow of his whiskey; recalled the slide, flames trailing its descent. Steadying his gaze, Boothill brought his attention back to the hat in question, his fingertips tracing the brim of his offered treasure, near relieved the stranger had refused. Impulse control wasn't one of the cowboy's powerhouses, the slightest glimmer inspiring a half-thought-out escapade, 'n that design? Sure, it didn't sparkle or shine, but boy if it wasn't a sight. In a motion fueled by clicks and clatter, Boothill climbed over the bartop, spied eagerly the spirits hidden from view, the fancy stuff the barkeep usually kept below 'em, nestled in that 'lil nook.

“Guy was one of them corporate shirtbags. Fudged up more lives than you or I can count, was on the path of fudgin' up some more. He considered himself a whistleblower, tryin' to make himself out to be some sorta' selfless acehole, but he only did it to save his own skin in a scheme he concocted. He sold off a lotta' land to a bunch'a no good people, even though there were plenty of good folk keepin' an eye on it. They wanted to build some free-housing, put up some shelters for the needy... 'n the duckstick sells it to a money-hungry millionaire who's wantin' to make himself a billionaire,” bottles clinked as uncareful hands waded through them, some smashing to the floor, pieces dancing around the glossy tiles. “Once he got backlash for it, he opted to blame his 'peers,' the ones that shine his boots 'n serve him breakfast on a silverplate. Folks who're just tryin' to make themselves a livin', forced to be treated worse than dirt.”

With a wheeze of laughter and a holler of victory, a cork was popped.

“Y'see, he's just one in a long line of aceholes I plan on puttin' in the ground. If it weren't for my shirty mornin', he would've gotten off better. Not alive, but he would'a gotten a few less holes in his skull. What's gonna' leak out, bits of his 'good nature'? He ain't ever had none of that.”

Dropping his head back, Boothill emptied the contents of the drink, down to the last sip. Down his throat, wetting his cogs, the fragility of his framework -- not as fragile as it could be, mind you. The sum Boothill accumulated wasn't a pretty one, 'n after going through all of that he got taken out by an open wire? He'd come back outta' spite.

“So, after all'a that... you plan on ratting me out? Maybe start a shoot-out, see if you can get the big, bad wanted man. I'll warn ya: it won't be as easy as you're thinkin'.”

The surgeon sat in silence, a statue amid the tumultuous remnants of the aftermath as if unfazed by the current destruction happening around him as he sipped from his chilled glass. The bar was a shadow of its former self, a husk abandoned by patrons fleeing from the chaos he had wrought. Smoke curled lazily in the air, twisting and fading into the dim light that filtered through the broken windows. Law’s eyes, sharp and calculating, traced the path of the smoke with an almost clinical interest. His gaze was a golden shimmer in the gloom, reflecting the cool, detached nature of a man who had long since become a spectator in the balance of life and death. The air hung heavy with the remnants of gunpowder and iron, scents that had long ceased to faze him. His gaze, cold and calculating, swept over the scene.

The target lay slumped against the bar, barely clinging to consciousness, fingers twitching against the pristine surface. The work was clean, precise—almost admirable in its brutality. The bartender had fled, and most patrons had followed suit, leaving the bar eerily quiet, save for the synthetic hum that now punctuated the silence.

Law’s attention shifted to the source of the hum. mechanical footsteps echoed through the room, Sharp golden gaze followed him with a silent intensity. He was a predator, watching another predator with the detached curiosity of one who had long since forsaken the notion of kinship or camaraderie. There was no sense of animosity or interest in revenge; instead, there was a cold, almost academic curiosity about the cyborg’s approach. Golden hues absorbed every detail of the presence with an almost scientific scrutiny. how he settled on the cyborg perched nonchalantly on a stool, an air of casual lethality about him. Law's expression remained unreadable, his body a study in controlled tension, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice.

 Law's hand instinctively moved to the brim of his hat once the cyborg had spoken up, his fingers brushing the soft fabric. His eyes, however, remained locked on , watching for any sign of deception or threat. He knew better than to underestimate ANYONE. Law’s fingers brushed against the hilt of Kikoku, his cursed blade, the motion almost instinctual. He remained silent, his gaze unwavering and intense, dissecting the scene with the precision of a scalpel. He leaned back slightly, the movement calculated to appear nonchalant, but every muscle in his body was poised, ready. With a slow, deliberate movement, he tipped his hat back slightly, revealing more of his intense gaze. 

❝                                 Interesting proposition . . .               ❞    he said, his voice low and even.   

❝                                 But I'd prefer to keep my hat . . .               ❞  

 He raised his glass to his lips, taking a long, slow sip of his whiskey, savoring the taste of the liquor as it burned down his throat. His gaze remained fixed on the cyborg, unblinking. Law set his glass back down on the table with a soft thud, his eyes never leaving the figure before him.

Hau hau! Today is Finland's Independence Day. It's a really nice day. We have been filming in advance in Lahti for the Christmas calendar. Today the air is so cold that it could not have been photographed. I got to wear a picture of my beautiful Finnish national costume. Am I not beautiful in the picture? We also have a tradition that when the festivities of the castle begin we get to put on great clothes and eat top delicacies like duck sticks and reindeer. Today I get my national costume on in the evening again and the boys something else great. Hau hau! Tänään vietetään Suomen itsenäisyyspäivää. Se on tosi kiva päivä. Me ollaan oltu kuvaamassa etukäteen Lahdessa joulukalenteriin. Tänään on niin kova pakkanen, että olisin palellut kuvauksissa. Sain pukea kuvaan kauniin Suomen kansallispukuni. Enkö ole hienona kuvassa? Meillä on myös perinne, että kun linnan juhlat alkaa saamme ennen sitä pukea hienot vaatteet päällemme ja syötäväksi huippuherkkuja kuten ankka tikkuja ja poroa.
