New Bloom Festival — Echoes of the Past — Listening to Echoes of the Past Pt. 2

In Part 2, we are going to the Mayor's Residence in Florawish with Du Yubai to ask for some information.

When you arrive there, Du Yubai is near the entrance to the Mayor's Residence, by the fountain.

Du Yubai wants to go in and speak with Mayor Grace, so head on in. When speaking with Mayor Grace, choose the dialogue option "Explain Du Yubai's intentions."

The Mayor is able to pinpoint a few people that were named Mark about 800 years ago in Florawish that have descendants alive today. The first person we start with is Monaco, the one who maintains Lilina Street.

You'll find Monaco sweeping in front of the Kingdom Guards' Office on Lilina Street.

When you talk to Monaco, you'll learn a bit about the past of Florawish.

Monaco will eventually tell you that his ancestor Mark isn't the one that you're looking for, but before you go, it's time to get a group photo. Make sure that the orange box shows up around Monaco and Du Yubai.

Your snapshots go to your New Bloom Album. You can go check them out there.

After taking your group picture, go ahead and show it to Du Yubai. It's then time to go meet up at Ray and Wing's to meet the next person on the list.

fun fact: apparently the echoes of the past limited time quest in Infinity Nikki involving Du Yubai is altered depending on main story progression!

when i initially played it prior to the game data loss I suffered earlier this week, it was after Giovanni was discovered as the Prophet, so he wasn't present during my first time playing that quest.

But because I'm now playing this while chapter 1 is still going on for me technically, Giovanni is still present and he actually helps us locate one of the 3 people we visit in this quest! XD

New Bloom Festival — Echoes of the Past — Listening to Echoes of the Past Pt. 1

The first event listed under New Bloom Festival is Echoes of the Past. Completing this quest will open another quest under New Horizons Day — Leisurely Encounters, as well as complete an activity for Day 2 Strings of Time.

First Nikki must board the White Jade that is docked in Florawish, go up the steps past Qiao He, and to the upper decks in order to start a cutscene with Captain Hiya. She is looking for Du Yubai.

After the cutscene, you can leave the White Jade and head to the Pony Pastures that are down south of the Swan Gazebo.

When you find Du Yubai, she'll be surrounded by Esselings. Go ahead and defeat the Esselings in order to talk to Du Yubai.

She'll need your help with getting some Pony Curls. Find some Noble Ponies nearby and groom them for Pony Curls. When you're done with this, head back over to where you last talked to Du Yubai. Be sure to approach Noble Ponies slowly, or else they will run away.

Once Du Yubai has the Pony Curls that she needs to repair her pipa, Momo will want to take a picture of her tuning it. Go ahead and take a picture, making sure that the orange box appears around your subject. Once you show her the picture you took, you'll be able to go to your New Bloom Album to see that it's been added to your adventures!

Du Yubai will want to meet you at the Mayor's Residence, next. Part 2 will start there.
