JNU and DU Postpone UG First Semester Classes Following CUET-UG Results Delay
In a recent development impacting undergraduate admissions at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Delhi University (DU), both institutions have decided to postpone the commencement of first-semester classes. This decision comes in light of the delayed results of the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate (CUET-UG), which has left thousands of aspiring students awaiting their fate.
CUET-UG Results Delay
The CUET-UG, introduced this year by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, was meant to streamline the undergraduate admission process across central universities. However, technical glitches and procedural delays have led to a setback in the announcement of results. This delay has significantly impacted the timelines for admissions at universities like JNU and DU, where the academic calendar depends heavily on the CUET-UG outcomes.
Impact on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)
JNU, known for its rigorous academic programs and diverse student body, has been forced to postpone the start of first-semester classes for its undergraduate programs. The university administration cited the uncertainty surrounding CUET-UG results as the primary reason for this decision. Students who have applied to various undergraduate courses at JNU are anxiously awaiting clarity on admission procedures and commencement dates.
Delhi University's Response
Similarly, Delhi University, a prestigious institution attracting students from across the country, has faced logistical challenges due to the CUET-UG results delay. The university administration has decided to postpone the beginning of UG first-semester classes until further notice. This move aims to ensure fairness and transparency in the admission process, aligning with the delayed release of CUET-UG scores.
Student Reactions and Concerns
The postponement of classes at JNU and DU has sparked mixed reactions among students and parents. While some appreciate the universities' cautious approach in awaiting CUET-UG results, others express frustration over the prolonged uncertainty. Many aspiring undergraduates had planned their academic year around the expected commencement dates, leading to logistical challenges and emotional stress amid the delay.
Administrative Challenges and Next Steps
Both JNU and DU are actively working with the Ministry of Education and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to expedite the release of CUET-UG results. The universities are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for admitted students once the scores are officially announced. Meanwhile, they continue to communicate updates and guidelines through their official websites and communication channels to keep applicants informed.
Future Outlook
As the higher education sector navigates the complexities of standardized testing and admissions reforms, stakeholders emphasize the need for improved coordination and efficiency in conducting nationwide entrance exams like CUET-UG. The current situation underscores the importance of robust infrastructure and meticulous planning to avoid similar delays in the future, ensuring minimal disruption to academic calendars and student aspirations.
Conclusion
The decision by JNU and DU to postpone UG first-semester classes reflects their commitment to maintaining integrity and fairness in the admissions process amidst challenges posed by the CUET-UG results delay. As students await clarity on their admission status, the universities remain focused on providing timely updates and support. Moving forward, collaboration between educational institutions, government bodies, and testing agencies will be crucial in addressing logistical hurdles and enhancing the efficiency of national-level entrance exams.I hope this article effectively covers the topic regarding the postponement of UG first-semester classes at JNU and DU following the delay in CUET-UG results. If you have any specific points or additional information you'd like to include, please let me know!

142 varsities to join CUET-PG 2023
The exam has witnessed significant increase in the participation this year even as it continued to remain optional for central universities.
At least 142 universities, including 38 central varsities, are participating in the Common University Entrance Test for admissions to postgraduate courses or CUET-PG this year, officials privy to the matter said on Tuesday.
Tumblr media
The number has gone significantly up in comparison to last year when only 66 universities had participated in the exam, the officials added.
The National Test Agency (NTA) initiated the registration process for the second edition of the CUET-PG late on Monday night and will continue till April 19. The agency is yet to announce the examination dates.
The exam has witnessed significant increase in the participation this year even as it continued to remain optional for central universities, unlike the CUET exam for undergraduate admissions or CUET-UG which is mandatory in nature. In fact, some prominent central universities that had not participated last year, including Delhi University (DU) and Jamia Millia Islamia, will also consider CUET-PG for admissions to many of their postgraduate programmes.
Meanwhile, University Grants Commission (UGC) chairperson M Jagadesh Kumar said that since the schedule for both CUET-UG and CUET-PG was announced well in advance this year, universities got enough time to adopt it. “It helped Universities to have a clear picture of when they can conduct the admission process. Universities have understood that CUET is planned well this time, and the academic calendar can return to the pre-COVID situation if they adopt it. In the coming years, we will see even more universities participating in CUET, making it a sizable national entrance test,” he said.
Among the other central universities that have adopted CUET-PG this year, are Jamia Millia Islamia, Mizoram University, Assam University, Visva-Bharati University, and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, among others. Read More..

Career Aspects of BBA
Tumblr media
In the last few years, the BBA course or the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) has gained a lot of recognition and popularity both from the industry and the youth. This degree is fast emerging as the first choice of youth for undergraduate education because they see it as a good choice rather than B.Tech from IIT which is very difficult to get admission into. BBA course provides a student with professional knowledge, skills and designation that industry and business organizations value.
This means a student can launch his or her career after BBA with confidence and options for multiple opportunities. And if you happen to pursue a BBA from a top business school or management college like IIM or MMIM (MM Institute of Management under MM(DU), Mullana); you are also sure of getting handpicked by a top organization during the campus placement drive. Companies that come to MM(DU) campus to recruit BBA students include big names Just Dial, LIDO Learning, ICICI Bank, Vivo Mobile, V-Konnect Associates, Bharti Aitel, IDFC First Bank, DCB Bank, GreenThumb, HDFC Asset Management Company, Jugnoo, MMDU Hospital, eClerx Service Ltd, EduKyu, Hanu Software etc.
Why has BBA become so popular?
The main reason for BBA’s popularity is that this is an industry-specific and job-oriented course. The strategic curriculum covers a wide range of core business functions, including leadership, strategy, operations, accounting and marketing. So if you have enrolled on a BBA course, you can get a good job in a top company by age 21. Also, one big advantage of going ahead with this course is that BBA course fees are much lesser than B.Tech or other professional undergraduate courses. Generally, in India, Bachelor's in Business Administration (BBA) is offered as a 3-year UG program and BBA graduates are in high demand.
Career Opportunities
BBA students will never see or face any dearth of job opportunities. You will start getting job offers even if you are still in the final year of your BBA. You can choose to work as a Finance Manager, Business Researcher, Business Analysts, Consultants, Business Development Manager, etc. in top companies in India and worldwide. Most Management Colleges offer BBA courses with specializations. MIM students can choose BBA with specialization in Marketing, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, Banking and Financial Services, Human Capital Management and Business Analytics. And if you cannot imagine the kind of jobs MMIM students get offered during their placement drive, let us tell you in detail –
1.     BBA graduates of MMIM are working as Human Resource Managers, Research and Development Managers, Information Systems Managers, and Marketing Manager at top business organizations and service companies in India
2.     The work profile of Digital Marketing Manager, Entertainment Manager, etc. are also offered to students of MMIM depending on your creative and analytical skills.
3.     Students of MMIM who have done their BBA with specializations are now working in insurance, retail, media marketing, social media management and marketing, manufacturing, business administration, investment banking, stock market, hospital administration, quality control, advertising, public relations, and sectors as well.
4.     Even though International Business is not a specialization that gets offered at BBA, students from the best management colleges also get offered work profiles in international business, and to work for multinational companies and manage their business upon completing their BBA course.
Popular Jobs that you can get after pursuing a BBA degree -
·       You can work as a business analyst required to spend his/her time gathering data that is related to the problems arising within a company
·       You can work as an account manager who is responsible for all the clients and management of business relationships of the company
·       You can work as a financial analyst who looks after the finances and focuses on how to strengthen the company financially
·       You can work as a sales manager who focuses on increasing the market and sales of the company and its products and services
·       You can work as a marketing manager who is responsible for marketing, branding, and promotion of the company, its products and services and also includes Public Relations

To get such plum jobs, you must choose to pursue a BBA course from one of the reputed management colleges in India. Top business colleges follow an interactive learning pedagogy that includes industry experts' guest lectures, workshops, and training sessions.

What about BBA course fees?
BBA is costly when you compare it with B.Com or regular graduation programs that are not industry-oriented or do not offer employment opportunities. But when you pursue BBA from MMIM, you need not worry about BBA course fees. First of all, MM(DU) being an A++ NAAC-rated university falls in the top 2% universities of in India that have this coveted rating from NAAC. Secondly, MM(DU) charges reasonable fees for its course and also offers scholarships to brilliant and needy students.
