I have a lot of headcanons on how the Constant works, and one of them is that every time someone is revived, they return to the exact state they were in when they entered the Constant. That's why a lot of time can pass but most of the survivors seemingly don't change that much. The kids are the most extreme examples of this happening.
#my art#silk and petals#the pigs were being rude about webber again. he was minding his own business while wendy was getting gold from the pig king#*incredibly* technically. abby started the fight. wendy just told her to start swinging which shouldn't count as instigating in her opinion#wendy dst#webber dst#dont starve together

the ultimate pig headcanon post
never thought you'd see a headcnaon about the pigs in dst? well, now you have one!
under the cut, the journey begins..
pigs started out as just swamp pigs, being hairier, the largest of the regular pigmen, more fierce individuals. the curse of werepigism also started with them. many moved to the swamp, where their population would soon decline as the gnaw overtook their health. swamp pigs are advanced despite this, wearing the most clothing not unlike the hamlet pigs (as seen in their sprites) as well as.... developing jewelry that halts werepigism in its tracks on the full moon.
meanwhile, other swamp pigs went on to become wildbores, wildbores being the shortest of the constant's pigs. they kept the tusks and fur from the swamp pigs. they are solitary and unlike the other pigs, do not form established societies of their own.
other swamp pigs went on to become the standard pigmen in the constant that we all know. they are averaging a height beween 5'7'' to 6' feet tall. they form societies and are largely social creatures.
finally, are the hamlet pigs. they are the largest of the pigs, getting to a whopping 7 feet on average. they, as we all know, have their own advanced society and customs. all hamlet pigs had werepigism bred out of them....except wilba.
IMPORTANT PIGGIES:
pig king: part of a line of those who came from swamp pig society to truck it out on their own. he is known by the hamlet pigs as he is, as wilba calls him, the trader king. has no relationship to wilba. hat contains werepig-preventing jewelry.
nightmare werepig: a pig who wandered too far and learned too much. was on the verge of becoming noticed by Them and becoming a "survivor," but his nightmare-soaked brain made him perfect to be an adversary instead.
queen malfalfa: ruler of the hamlet islands. nothing much to say about her.
wilba's father: a swamp pig ruler from a distant society. is where wilba's werepigism is from, and gave her the necklace to prevent it too.
wilba: has werepigims purely due to being mixed race (mixed rep this is why we love her)
okay this ended up not being very long like i thought but yeah hope you enjoyed

days in the constant- wilba
i am playing singleplayer dont starve rog as wilba. lets see how long i survive
days 1-9
i found stuff for a science machine on day one and was able to craft a bit. spawn had clockworks so i grabbed gears and a spear and hightailed it out of there.
i found a couple pigs and knocked their houses down, saving the material for later. i found a seemingly nice place for base in between big king and beefalo. theres a lot on the other side of the map, though that are important, like rocks. the touchstone is right by my base though
i have to remember full moons last multiple days in DS. im used to them only lasting one day like in DST. anyways, i set up a pig farm and just reaped some werepigs. all with wilbas cute dialog about her curse...she is so adorbale, i love her so much, she is my daughter, end tweet

DST Base - I'm proud
I think it's time to show off my base in my current main game with Wigfrid… It's unusual for me when I play this character - built base partly in the Antlion desert and partly in the swamp, but Oasis being so close to the edge of the desert… Oh, I coudn't do it other way. Let me show you around ;)
First main part. Where my character is standing, in the future there will be my kitchen for probably 4 pots - for now I have a future fight with shadow chess pieces to win the heart of Ancient Fuelweave - but I don't feel like carrying their pieces for now. In the future there will also be a 4th cage for this sea bird, which resembles a puffin. Starting from the left… the road to the wormhole that leads to the Pig King (but it is not displayed in the preview), my first fig tree (I am planning more, maybe I will do it in the summer). The way to the pig village and, by the way, to the underground, where I have a mushroom farm. I plan to completely cover it with palm trees. The banana farm was supposed to be moved, but I think it will stay here because it looks nice. I definitely plan on replanting the Moon Trees somewhere. I just don't know where yet. A border of reeds and an unfinished border of monkey tails around the unfinished moon sticks farm (purely decorative, but they saved my life 1-2 times in the winter). Below the farm the Cloakroom where I keep various hats and threads, an unfinished bridge to an unfinished corner of magic. A plant-meat farm, sticks farm and a drying room - all sufficient for my needs. A slightly cluttered main part with two bonfires, a lake and "temporary" chests for what I bring from my trips. I am happy with the avenue of leafy trees (lit by fireflies at night) and my marble farm.
We go right. Golden Pig City - it was supposed to be bigger, but it turns out that so many werepigs satisfy my needs, so I think I'll just fence it for them and decorate it… On the left - a gobbler farm (and some berries, but when it comes to bananas, I rather give the berries to the pig for manure ), behind it is a grassgecko farm and a weed farm X'D (I don't need to grow vegetables since I have a mushroom farm, so it's overgrown with weeds, lol) A little below - my Majestic Bisons, and much below - Honey Meadow (also completely sufficient for my needs). On the lower right you have the temporary Las Palmas (the palm trees will be transferred to the road through the swamp), where the road that will lead to the Volt Goats ends temporarily.
Volt Goat farm - and on the left a failed experiment to create a second herd. I'm currently considering what else to keep there… a summer koalefant?
In the place where my character is now, an Antlion spawns, so I plant trees there, and also nearby, so that by destroying them at spawning, she might wake up the Ents… But for now, the trees are stubbornly petrifying :/ Going down there is my forest to fight the Bearger, but in the future it will be a garbage dump (i.e. meaty plants to eat unnecessary things). At the bottom left there are large spider nests, but I rarely visit them lately. Bottom right - McTusk, also unvisited for at least 3 winters…
And finally, my warehouses - also unfinished, some things are lying on the ground, but overall I am proud of them. Above the warehouse - the failed experiment "Ent Forest" - but it turned out that even non-aggressive ents destroy wooden fences, so I have to think of something else to do there. Any ideas? Coming back to the warehouses, I have a nice skin system for crates and beautiful wooden plaques, see for yourself:
I have monster chests for monster drops, bone chests for those from neutral mobs, white chests for everything else, and one gingerbread chest - for loot from gingerbread men. They look lovely.
And the last part: my Armory. Also not finished yet, but it looks great. On the left you can see a Vault for loot from the underground, but I don't know what it's for at the moment (there are definitely chests there for individual amulets). Above this on the shore is a beach where I plan to store shells when I want to move them from Crabby Hermit Island. I also have a square of marble where I don't know what I will build, and on the far left - Molecatraz. For the time being, the number of prisoners remains unchanged because I turn all the moles I catch alive into Guacamole. Oh yes, and winter Koalefant - I need to decorate his place a little... maybe berry bush and flowers? I'll see.
Of the things I plan to build:
exhibition of Christmas trees with baubles;
Rabbit Village (probably somewhere next to merms and spiders);
Reading Corner (I have a new skin for the wood fence) - but here I need skins for furniture from underground - I will store unused Wigfrid songs there and put a cookbook there;
Altars for individual bosses - I saw it from some YouTuber and I really like this idea.

“The Friend Of My Enemy...Is My Friend” - A DST Fanzine Fanfic
Now Available on Ao3!
Fandom: Don’t Starve Description: Wurt unlearns some prejudice regarding the tribe of scale-less living in the Constant, and makes some new friends along the way. Rating: Gen. Characters: Wurt (Don’t Starve), Webber (Don’t Starve), Wendy (Don’t Starve), Abigail (Don’t Starve), Wickerbottom (Don’t Starve) Pairings: n/a Author’s Notes: This was my part of the Don’t Starve Together fanzine, this effort was a labor of love for the Don’t Starve community and its creators. I thoroughly enjoyed doing this piece on a character which, until recently, I had overlooked. Wurt is now probably among my favorites in the cast, and it was really through writing this that I came to love and appreciate her as a character. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Wurt was small, but she would grow. She was young, but would age. She was different, and…
She clutched the object in her claws. A series of papyrus pages with words and illustrations on them bound together with pigskin and string. The object was her fascination, something she had never seen in her marsh village. The scale-less left the object behind when they were chased out of merm territory.
At first she told herself she was on a mission to return it. Drop the object outside their village and sneak home; she’d never have to face them. The scale-less couldn’t be trusted. That’s what she was told since she could remember. Afterall, scale-less allied themselves with pigfolk. By trading with the pig “king”, they had placed their kind in direct opposition with mermfolk. Wurt knew this, the scale-less just destroyed when they came into the swamp. It was for this reason, she set out to have as little contact as she completed her mission.
The object slipped in her claws and she was snapped from her daydream to catch it. The midafternoon sun above barely touched the evergreen forest floor where she was standing. She looked around to catch her bearings, all traces of swamp had been left behind hours ago. How far was the scale-less village? At least there was some semblance of a path; she could only hope it led closer to them.
Walking allows for time to let the mind wander - which is why she felt another idea pushing through her brain. Perhaps scale-less had more paged objects, and maybe she could trade to get more. If she established a trade with the scale-less, maybe more merms could as well. Then the scale-less wouldn’t need to rely on pigs ever again. Wurt could be the first merm to reach out to the scale-less and usher in a new era for mermkind. It was ambitious, but she felt the responsibility of all her young years on her shoulders.
Shaken again from her daydreams, she heard movement come from the bushes. She stiffened, placing the object safely on the ground next to her and adopting a defensive stance. “Stay back, florp!” she was woefully aware of how defenceless she really was all alone in the forest.
The movement stalled slightly before some… thing popped up to face Wurt. They floated above the forest floor, completely transparent and unblinking. The apparition bore no difference to the specters that occasionally wandered into merm territory - except the flower atop its left side.
Wurt felt the green drain from her face. An angry ghost was likely to rampage and destroy anything in its path. On the other hand, a neutral ghost was like a stalker, following just close enough waiting for a chance to strike. It was an ultimate darned if you do situation. She shook her head, no she couldn’t back down now. She was going to save mermkind; she had to be brave. “You...nice?” her voice faltered, but she managed to stay standing.
The apparition blinked and twisted around to get a closer look, brushing their ghostly tail against her side. Shivers rose from the spot and she had to push herself to keep standing. “Hey! Stop that.”
They stopped, surprised and cocked a ghostly head in confusion.
“You understand me?”
A nod.
“You know where scale-less is, glort?”
They cocked their head again. Looking Wurt up and down before focusing on the object at her feet. She noticed and rushed to grab the object tightly against her chest.
“No, this not yours!” She growled “This belongs to scale-less. Me going to return it myself!”
Once again the ghost looked confused. They maintained eye contact with Wurt for a brief moment before turning back toward the bush.
“What is it, Abigail?” a voice called before pushing out from the bush. A scale-less girl brushed leaves from her shirt. She was pale with round expressionless eyes and long yellow hair tied in symmetrical pigtails. The flower pinned on the right side of her head matched the spector’s. She regarded the ghost briefly before turning attention to Wurt. “Oh. A merm.”
Wurt could feel her heart pounding against the object and tried to readjust her posture to appear confident once again. She opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted by-
“-Wendy! Don’t run too far ahead!” from the bushes came another figure, covered in a thin layer of fur and eight blinking eyes. They were a spiderfolk but apparently someone forgot to tell them that they had to walk on eight legs, not two. Like the first scale-less, they almost immediately noticed Wurt, who was beginning to think meeting scale-less was a bad idea.
“Oh you’re a merm!” They spoke in an excitable manner and waved one of their spider arms in greeting. “Are you friendly? My name’s Webber, and this is Wendy,” they pointed to the other scale-less “and this is Abigail” they pointed to the ghost.
“What are you doing away from your swamp?” the other scale-less, Wendy, questioned.
“Wendy!” Webber reprimanded. “Be nice, she could be lost.”
“Am...not lost flurt.” Wurt’s voice shook more than she cared to admit. She breathed, here goes nothing. “Me looking for scale-less village. Wanted to know-” she paused and held out the object for the scale-less to see. “-Wanted to know if they had more of these.”
Wendy and Webber shared a look before Webber broke into a big, fangy, grin. “Oh that’s one of Miss Wickerbottom’s books.”
“Book?”
“She writes them herself.” they further explained.
“How did you find it?” Wendy asked.
“Was in swamp. Scale-less left it when village chased them away.”
Wendy and Webber exchanged a glance and Wurt’s heart dropped. Had she said something to provoke them? If so, it was all too clear who would win this fight. Merms fight best in groups, and Wurt was far from home.
Webber was the first to make a move, pulling Wurt’s arm further into the evergreens. “Come with us.” Their voice sounded almost too cheery if killing her was the objective.
Despite the growing feeling of dread, Wurt obediently followed at the spider kid’s insistence. Wendy took a spot behind, with the ghost following alongside. Wurt kept pace between the scale-less, but kept her eyes elsewhere. At the first sign of trouble, she had to try and escape. They had her boxed in. The path wound further into the forest, bushes and underbrush lined the sides of the path.
“So,” Webber’s excitable voice broke the silence that had hushed over the group. “I don’t think we actually caught your name. What is it?” The spider was walking backwards now to face Wurt.
Wurt looked away, keeping her gaze off their multiple eyes. Her nerves were fraying by the second, and with it her bravery ebbed away. She wasn’t sure if she was visibly shaking, though she felt like she might be.
“Hey, are you okay?” Webber lowered his voice.
“Fear is an unnecessary reaction.” Wendy’s tone was flat.
Wurt continued to stay silent. The piney forest floor was soon ending into a grassy path. The world was cast in an orange glow as dark was soon approaching. Away from the trees, Wurt felt less claustrophobic, but not completely safe.
“Hey,” Webber pulled Wurt’s arm, the concerned look on their face was top acting. “Are you okay?”
Wurt didn’t respond, she couldn’t. Her chest was tight and it locked up her voice. She was positive she was visibly shaking now, and close to tears.
“Children, is that you?” a separate voice called. “Get back to camp before it gets dark!”
The voice provided just enough distraction that Wurt took no time sprinting away from her kidnappers. She charged back into the evergreens. Her thoughts raced as she desperately tried to remember the way back to the swamp. Dusk was giving way to night and the forest floor looked darker than ever. The shadows expanded and through her petrified mind Wurt remembered what the elders had said about going out at night. She remembered the stories of a shadowy night lady that had scared her so much she still occasionally had nightmares. Looking up, she could see the last of the sun’s light wane into the night sky.
Now she could feel something; she was no longer alone. Tears blurred her vision, she continued running; her swamp was still so far away. She heard whispers from the shadows, and now she felt something grab her. It pulled her foot, and Wurt collapsed onto the pine needles, the book sliding into the bushes. She whipped around and caught the creature’s eyes. Pale white against the blackest black. The eyes illuminated some of its face. Sharp teeth aligned into a malicious grin opened and Wurt could feel the creature’s claws against her stomach. She let out a shriek; the creature’s mouth opened wider and its claws dug harder. She closed her eyes; she didn’t want to die.
Then the creature’s weight was gone. Its claws lifted from her belly and she could no longer see its evil smile. There was light, a torch.
“That’s her Miss Wickerbottom!” Webber’s loud voice proclaimed.
Wurt could see the two scale-less that held her captive earlier had come back with a third, older woman. Her gray hair was tied tightly in a bun on top of her head. She had sharp features, wrinkled some with age and dark beady eyes. The torch in her grasp was extended towards Wurt and she was intently watching her. “Oh dear.” She breathed.
“Stay back.” Wurt warned hoarsely. The older woman had bent down to her level. Webber and Wendy following suit. Every muscle in her small body ached and her throat felt like she had been eating spikes, yet she still tried to look somewhat threatening. “Keep away from… me, florp.” It hurt to speak.
“I’m just going to make a fire, dear.” the woman responded calmly. She set down the torch in her hand and pushed the kids away with the other. She worked quickly and soon the forest was illuminated by a small campfire.
Wurt pushed herself to sit up. The spots where the creature's claws dug into stung. She tried to not look at it. Instead she kept her eyes on the three scale-less (and one ghost) who were keeping their eyes on her. The suspense was eating at her, no one was saying anything to her, just watching.
“What you...waiting for?” she hissed. “Scale-less want to hurt, just do it, glorp.”
“We don’t want to-” Webber started but was shushed by the elder scale-less.
“You are a long away from home, little one.” she said softly.
Wurt fought back more tears. Her muscles tensed. She was cornered, hurt, and not in any shape to fight back.
The older scale-less moved a little closer. “What brought you out of the swamp?”
“She found one of your books.” Wendy said flatly.
A smile. “Did you now? I wonder which one it was.” She continued moving closer to Wurt.
“No...no closer.” Wurt struggled to get the words out.
She complied. “Are you scared, little merm? I promise we aren’t going to hurt you.”
Wurt stayed silent, still very aware of her trembling. She curled in on herself and shut her eyes. It would be useless trying to run now, she was once again outnumbered, except this time she wasn’t even sure she could stand on her own. Something brushed up on her toes, and she flinched. Looking down, she saw there was another book at her feet. It looked similar to the first book, bound in pigskin, but the print etched into the cover made different shapes. She hesitated, but slowly picked it up flipping through the papyrus pages and revealed several pictures of little birds. A small smile crept up her face.
“I had a feeling you might like that one.” The elder scale-less was smiling with satisfaction.
She blinked. “Me called Wurt.” she said softly; her voice still hurt.
“And it is a pleasure to meet you, Wurt.” She moved a bit closer to Wurt. “You can call me Wickerbottom.”
“Wick...Wicker-lady?” Wurt struggled on the syllables. “That a...funny name, florp.”
A smile. “I suppose it is.” She situated herself next to the merm child. “Now, are you quite alright Wurt? That was quite a scare you gave us.”
Wurt blinked confused. “Me...scared you?”
“You ran into the forest by yourself.” Wendy interjected.
“We were afraid you were going to be eaten by Charlie!” Webber cried.
“Alone in the woods at night is no place for a little one like yourself. Especially without a light.” Wickerbottom spoke with a calm, concerned voice.
“So, you really not going to hurt me?” Wurt asked.
“Goodness no.” She spoke as though the mere suggestion were outlandish.
“But...scale-less and merms?” Her thoughts spun.
Wickerbottom placed a hand on Wurt’s knee. “I know we’ve had our differences, but we really are here to help you Wurt.”
She trembled, tears pooling in her eyes and she flung herself onto the elder scale-less. Wickerbottom pulled her into a hug and she didn’t even fight; just sobbed harder into her chest. Then she felt someone else embrace her. Soft fuzzy arms held tight grasp on the merm child. Then another embrace joined the pile. Wurt opened her eyes, all three scale-less (and one ghost) were clinging tightly to her comfortingly.
She smiled and let herself sink back into the hug. It felt right. She was Wurt, she was going to bring about peace between mermkind and the scale-less village. Though the beginnings were rocky, she felt assured that she had the ability to make the friend of her enemy… her friend too.

MCYT in Don't Starve Together!
(I love this game so much, let me have my moment)
Wilbur has at least a stack of grass, twigs, flint, logs, and other practical resources. He's making a plan for winter, has a decent base set up near pigking by day 12, but has somehow forgotten about food. Luckily, Niki didn't
Tubbo is scary good at the game, and already has a base set up next to the giant bee hive. They decide to jump in and out of a wormhole over and over, though, and died to shadow creatures. They found a touchstone, respawned, and then somehow befriend the Bee Queen??? She helped them fight shadows, somehow, so now Tubbo has access to nighmare fuel and is unstoppable.
Tommy spends the entire first day trying to kill a bird with his spear. He dies to darkness and follows Wilbur around as a ghost. Eventually Wilbur revives him with a tell tale heart, and Tommy immediately goes back to picking fights with small mobs like rabbits, frogs, and spiders. Once the war starts (because it's them, of course there's a war) he focuses more on gathering resources and food, and sets up a bunch of rabit traps.
Techno is playing the long game, he sets up a quick base at oasis and starts looking for bosses to kill. Somehow he takes down Crab King by himself on day 3 and goes back to his base. This is when he realizes he can grow potatoes in this game too, and fills the entire oasis desert with advanced farm plots and begins his empire. He finished before the first winter. This actually works as a survival strategy too, because he uses bundling wraps to keep stacks and stacks of potatoes fresh through the winter
Dream tries to speed run fuelweaver after seeing that the current record is over 2 hours, but quickly realizes that this game is very different from minecraft. He kills a beefolo to make himself feel better, and no one hears from him for a few weeks. Sapnap and George are a little worried, but then he uploads "Ancient Fuelweaver solo kill on day 14" and they're even more worried because H O W is that P O S S I B L E
Sapnap is just there to have fun, he messes around for a bit picking flowers and killing spiders, and eventually decides to burn down Wilbur's base as a prank. This ends up prompting a war between the two, so now they're both trying to build the biggest, best base they can to one up the other. Its not going well for either of them until they get allies.
George, who actually knows how to build, decides to help Sapnap in his war. He spends a few days gathering rocks and logs, but Tommy ends up stealing it all. It's basically another Dream SMP war at this point as George hammers down Tommy's work as retaliation, and uses the resources for him and Sapnap
Niki makes a butterfly garden, and a community farm in the deciduous forest. There's a berry area, mushroom planters, beefolo pen, pine tree section, and about 30 farm plots. Theres also a small croc pot area with a bird cage, some bundles she borrowed from techno, and a couple ice boxes. Needless to say, neither her now her allies go hungry
Eret spends most of her time in the caves, and made her base down there. She has a massive storage area, with most items in the game in abundance. Everything is lit up with mushlights. She spends a lot of time grinding or fighting, so if someone needs something rare, like a moonstone staff, or something tedious to get, like a few stacks of web, they usually ask Eret. She's also good at group fighting, so sometimes she, Techno, Dream, and Bad will go on ruins runs together or kill toadstool
BadBoyHalo felt bad when he killed the rabits, but it was worth it because he fed every pig in the village and now has an army of freinds. His main pass time is using a pitchfork to make pictures on the map. He pretty much ignores needing food and light, so Skeppy is constantly saving his life. Bad is also strangely talented when it comes to spelunking, and has gone to the ruins with Techno and Dream
Skeppy based near dragonfly, and kills her every time she respawns, giving him the biggest gem collection in the game. He's also got a nice crocpot area and a pig farm, so he doesn't really worry about food
JSchlatt is on the Nighmare Throne, no one knows how, he just is. I know its not possible to do adventure mode in DST, but he heard there was a throne and his lust for power made it possible

In our new dst world we have the most insane generation. like all the poiunts of interest like pig king, dragonfly, oasis, reed trap, lunar alter, and mactusk camp are like. Right fucking here . And in the caves too like the sinkhole closest to our base is two screens away from the ancient guardians arena + the tentacle pilar that leads to the atrium is the closest one to our cave entrance. Um whatelse. Oh yeah triple Moose spawner at the entrance of the oasis. And the loot stash always spawns in the birch biome across from our base! Idk but its a lot and really insane and crazy mb if we play tomorrow i will stream bc its so fucking crazy like its the craziest luckiest seed ever EVER like you just dont understand how good it is
#p#dst#dont starve together#THISPROBABLY DIESNT MAKE SENSE to anhkne who doesnt play past the first winter but

Challenge - random 1000 days
I decided to change something a bit and stop playing according to the usual patterns - and challenged myself in DST. In general, in the solo version, I play the game quite statically - I focus on building the base slowly, I start hitting the bosses very late. Even when I play my favourite Wigfrid, I don't kill the first boss (Deerclops) until the end of winter, and I even don't touch Klaus. I decided to try to change it and challenged myself - before 1000 days to beat everyone. To make it even more difficult and interesting - I did not turn off any annoyances that I usually turn off (e.g. self-ignition in summer) and decided to let the game decide which character I will play.
But the game was against me XD I got Wendy twice (who is my second favourite character after Wigfrid and I play her often) and Wormwood (also played a lot). But finally it pick Wickerbottom, which I used to play long time ago, and only in DS. I rubbed my hands and thought to myself: it will be fun. What do I know about this lady? That she has all tier 1 inventions unlocked at the start, a nice plus. Backpack on the first day right after getting the grass. That she cannot heal sanity while sleeping 'cause she is suffering from insomia. Great. Mushroom farms will be in use again, I like mushroom farms. Something about stale or raw food (little trouble, I rarely eat raw foods). And that she produces and reads books. I haven't had a chance to check this option, so there will be an opportunity at last.
And we set off. At the beginning, quite nice and large (unlike my previous games) meadow with basic raw materials, mid-day wormhole, so jump into - and it turns out that on the first day I found the Pig Village with the Pig King. Great. Good location, potential base location, but we keep looking. Near the Village of Pigs there is a swamp where I find Chester (on the second day!). It looks to be getting better and better. We spend the next days exploring and getting to know the world, I like the settlement between two pig villages connected by a stone road (in the savannah biome, but whatever, I can transformed it). By the way, the second pig village, near a small swamp, has a disturbingly many human skeletons around it...
Yes. I play in an unmodified world - but I wouldn't let go of mods. And yes, I use achievment mod that make characters leveling up. I am a fan of jRPGs and I love leveling up characters, buying skills and gaining achievements.
The beginning of the seventh day is funny, 'cause it's just at the moment of crossing the Wormhole. And look how lucky I was to jump into it and not run any further!
It has thrown me quite a distance from home, but I am starting to explore the stone biome to discover that here is big spider city and this biom adjoins the desert with an oasis! The second potential place for a base (or summer base) - although personally I do not like sandstorms, even with the better goggles. Just one little problem... My lovely oasis is adjacent to the stone city of hounds.
So after a week of game-in-time, I look like this:
I was supposed to make a screen at the beginning so that there would be a summary after seven days - and believe me, I looked better a moment earlier. But all morning and a half day I had to fight those toothy bastards and managed to destroy two lairs for now - they broke two armor and my helmet.
Anyway, so far the game looks promising.
Here is the state of the map for the middle of the eighth day. I am considering the base in one of the places with X, but first I will look for other strategic places, such as Dragonfly hideout.
Advantages of the first X - proximity to Pig Village with a lot of berries, proximity to a Wormhole leading to a large swamp with a lot, really a lot of Merms, spiders and reeds (and I don't lose hope for a reed trap), as well as the close Wormhole to the desert with an oasis.
Advantages of the second X - proximity to the King of Pigs, potentially to Klaus, Wormhole leading straight to the Rose Gate. And possible something nice there where I wasn't yet.
Advantages of X in an oasis - well, it is an oasis, it has a wormhole close to the second pig village, but I haven't discovered enough to know if it's actually a good place.
I wonder how long I can last in this game :)
