regarding Lavinia and George,,, I think it was apparent that a lot of the fandom disliked the ship when it was initially introduced in DSS, (I personally was not one of those people, I loved the ship, even if they're broken up I still think they have a compelling dynamic) why do you think so many people didn't ship it?

++ will Lavinia appear in the MUA series and will she interact with the main trio??

This is SO interesting, I did not know this (I don’t tend to go looking at fandom stuff unless people bring it to me - I think it’s nice for you all to be creating without looking over your shoulders wondering if I approve).

I think George and Lavinia are a really left-field ship for sure - but I remember realising that they’d never met and then imagining them interacting and I just knew they’d both be delighted by each other. They’re both so angry - George is furious about the world order, and Lavinia’s just FURIOUS, and I thought they would just vibe immediately. Plus, they’re both ADHD - George is AuDHD and Lavinia is ADHD - and I think there’s a neurodivergent click that happens particularly when two (complimentary) ADHD people are in the same room.

So that’s my reason for the ship! As to why people maybe didn’t like it - I think it might be because of what shipping is, compared to what human relationships are. Shipping in fandom usually is a for-life situation - you ship a couple because you think they should end up together. And I don’t think that’s George and Lavinia! I imagine their relationship as brief and tempestuous and enjoyable, but not at all for life. They both really like and love each other but they don’t particularly want to be romantically together by the time Ministry rolls around.

(I won’t spoil it in case you haven’t read BITB, but they both appear in that book, and I hope I show that they’re both happy with their lives and still in touch!)

Since there has been a lot of Dan and Reiki posts recently, I am curious about what kind of things you think they were doing during Masters and Fury?

honestly? therapy mostly. I mean that post-fusion in general actually. yk sometimes I think a lot about how dan and reiki were there to see gan gan galaxy off with the rest of the group when they first left during masters. I think about that frequently.

The wbba-mandated dark nebula kid support group hc is still one that holds very firm in my head and I very much believe that it was beneficial for dan and reiki. Yk what else I think about? Dan and reiki have been at the dark nebula the longest compared to some of the other recruits (obviously sans Ryuga and probably Reiji) since their first appearance was early on in fusion while everyone else joined way later. You ever think about that? I think about that a lot. Can you tell I think about that a lot? Can you tell I think a lot about how much the dark nebula probably really fucked them up and how their main episode after their first appearance showed how desperate they were for doji’s approval and were willing to do like anything in order to win back his favor and prove their worth? Cuz I think about that a lot. And I definitely also think a lot about how much their conflict stems from the fact that the team battle dynamic that they have is clearly dysfunctional for them because despite how similar they are, they are so fundamentally different to the degree that having them control one bey is just setting themselves up for failure bc of how much their differences clash with each other but they don’t really get the opportunity to acknowledge that because they’re always seen as a team because they’re twins.

A lot of what I imagine them doing post-fusion is kinda working through all that, both their need for approval and validation from a higher figure but also acknowledging more of their individuality. That’s part of the reason why I draw them with different hairstyles. One reason is bc it’s more fun for me and I HATE drawing their canonical shaggy boy band cut, another is bc it makes it easier for other people to tell them apart, but the main reason is because I like it as a show of them becoming their own separate people and being able to individualize themselves more.

I also do like to think about their potential friendship dynamics with other characters. One that I’ve thought abt a little bit is I think they’d both be good friends with Tobio, and by extension they hang out with dss a lot, which I can only imagine would be the most chaotic matchup of people and they are probably banned from a lot of public spaces, but it’s a lot of fun. Tsubasa also I like to think of as one of their more voice of reason friends. The main reason they even hang around each other is bc of the whole support group thing but they enjoy Tsubasa’s company a lot and he checks up on them and introduces them to new people and I think that’s fun. Hyoma is one of the people I could see Tsubasa introducing them to which is also an extremely silly dynamic, and Hyoma then introduces them to Axyl, which is how gemios trio happens. They mean a lot to me, obviously <3 gemios trio is also how the idea of the twins and their beef/also extremely silly friendship with zhouxing came to be. I just think they’re funny I like them a lot. (I also. haven’t talked abt this ever. but the idea of crackshipping zhouxing and reiki has crossed my mind more than once. for reasons I think are obvious. but it’s very silly and I love them.)

In general I just enjoy pairing the twins up with a bunch of different characters, either together or individually, I like giving them friends and more character interactions because I think it’s fun and they deserve the world. But yeah that’s most of what their post-fusion shenanigans are in my head, individualizing themselves, exploring different hobbies and means of self-expression, unlearning their dark nebula trauma, and making friends and hanging out and being silly because they deserve it <3

DSS Trio !! i think i've drawn them on the same canvas before but nothing really shippy i guess. Sometimes i think about them and im like "heeho they r silly" and then i dont do anything,, </3 I'd also like to draw some Helios stuff at some point :o

Again, another one I have not heard of. Teru for me, at least in my canon, is more someone who goes off on his own and for Tobio, I do prefer DSS Trio (Tetsuya, Ryutaro, Tobio). I think they can be friends but in terms of pursuing a romantic relationship, I don't think there is much.

What would have made you like it?

As with all of these asks, I need convincing through more content like art or writing lol.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Not really sure, I'm sure they can get along as just friends at least. That's better than some other ships out there.

DSS trio headcanons but most of them are neurodivergent

- ryutaro will infodump about onmyōdō and its history to tetsuya and tobio whenever they take a rest from traveling. neither of them have a single clue what ryutaro's talking about but listen intently anyway

- ryutaro likes organizing things and is strict about keeping his stuff in the right spots. he strikes me as someone who liked lining all his belongings up for fun as a kid

- his fan is his biggest comfort object. he stims with it a lot by opening and closing it or just fidgeting with it in general. he likes the fwoop sounds hehe. he keeps plenty of spares in case they break (or he rips them apart for Dramatic Effect)

- ryutaro Does Not like big cities. the atmosphere’s too loud and cluttered it makes him uncomfortable. he only goes to them for tournaments and tell fortunes for people (which is unfortunately his two main sources of income so he has to go regularly).

- tetsuya with undiagnosed adhd but he doesn't even realize it. tobio gives him some adderall and it's the calmest he's ever been

- tetsuya has really bad RSD. pair that with his past abandonment issues and disinclination to friendships in general, tetsuya struggles a shit ton with communicating his feelings. he was wary of his partnership with tobio for a while, and ever since the Helios incident he constantly worries of being left alone if he fails again

- on a more lighthearted note, tetsuya stims by bouncing/tapping his feet a lot. he loves jumping around, too, and will bounce in place when excited/nervous. tobio gets him some stim toys and he's immediately enraptured lmao (i like to imagine him playing with a crab-shaped stress toy or those popper thingies ueueuue).

- tobio is the most knowledgable about neurodivergency and is the only one with a diagnosis (he's dyslexic in my book teehee). he helped the other two figure out their own shit and stuff

- unlike ryutaro and tetsuya tobio does not have any sort of system when it comes to organizing. he just throws his shit everywhere and calls it a day. ryutaro fumes at him for it ("ORGANIZE YOUR STUFF YOU HEATHEN")

- tobio and tetsuya often compete for ryutaro’s attention (you can see this as romantic or platonic they just think he’s pretty Lmao). meanwhile ryutaro desperately pretends he doesn’t know them when talking to customers (he means well they’re just not the most reputable people to hang out with)

-  unfortunately for him, tobio knows the most about cities and navigation  (ryutaro just divines his next destination, no guide just instinct, and  you cannot tell me tetsuya knows how to read a map), so he's the one  the other two rely on when they have to travel through big cities. they  help him make out hard-to-read words and he guides them all through the  busy streets

- tetsuya has, on more than one occasion, snuck into those fancy seafood restaurants and released all the crustaceans onto the street (”BE FREE MY CRABBY BRETHREN”)

- this has resulted in him being banned from most public restaurants

tetsuya (mfb) — ONE OF MY FAVS ACTUALLY ‼️ it's just good to have a break inbetween things and he does it quite well.

honestly he's one of the evilest mfb characters out there but he's just so chaotic but that's a story for another time.

i also like how in the seasons after fusion, hell even in shogun, his name got dropped once or twice again like aw this reminds me of the crabby guy. very good

ryutaro (mfb) — if it weren't for reiji's introduction later on he honestly would've been my fav, along w hyouma. HES JUST SOOOO GENDER

and i love his vibes and character sm idk how to explain it but all this traditional fortune telling stuff ? so good i love stuff like that so much

also when i first watched metal fight i thought the characters would constantly be relevant and waited and waited and waited for him to appear on screen again for me to then in the end get one (1) more frame in fury 💀

tobio (mfb) — one my my brother's favourite characters and gradually got one of mine as well. he's. so sick. like no honestly.

like . how did they just introduce someone who. basically knows everything about beyblading techniques and then let him appear in like three episodes and dip what the heeellll

i have so much respect for him and his knowledge about mathematics and everything like if we took out the plot armour he would absolutely be one of the strongest bladers like honestly

I love RyuTeru since I was a child (11 years old) I'm glad to find another artist who likes it, Could you give me your Headcanons? I'd like to see what you think about them.

Pardon my language but holy fuck I thought I'd never find anyone else that likes it as much as me 😭. had to do a double take when I read the ask I legit thought I was hallucinating - anyway! I rmbr having posted some hcs about them before but I'm too lazy to dig it up so I'll dump it here

(bonus tobio and tetsuya crumbs i like to think the 4 of them as a happy friend group):

They are both early birds, but sometimes they sleep in on weekends. 

Teru drinks coffee and Ryutaro drinks tea. Ryutaro dislikes the strong, bitter taste of coffee even when there's a shitload of creamer in it (once Ryutaro made Tobio drink tea and he added soda in it).

Teru enjoys spoiling his loved ones.. Ryutaro often tells him to not spoil him too much. I like to think when they form a family in the future Teru is the parent that drags the entire (reluctant)  family out for shopping.

Whenever Teru falls sick, Ryutaro would use aromatherapy to ail his symptoms such as fragrant incense and essential oils.

Whenever Ryutaro falls sick Teru makes him soup. Granted it's canned soup but it's the thought that counts (i hc teru being an awful cook more lr8)

Teru is absolutely the one that gives really cheesy nicknames and it makes Ryutaro cringe to high heaven. But he tolerates it because he likes seeing Teru smile :) 

Teru is extremely soft (literally). He takes damn good care of himself I just know his hair is soft. Bedtime cuddles are also soft. I can imagine his sleeping robes are super comfy.. Ryutaro has to compete with everyone else for hugs :(

Teru has a sweet tooth and enjoys cafe hopping. Fluffy pancakes with LOTS of maple syrup, ice cream waffles, sundaes etc. The things he orders are enough to give Ryutaro a heart attack, so he just sticks to drinks. Give him a break, his entire diet is just rice and grilled fish. 

Among the dss trio I'd feel like Ryutaro is the least petty but he can be extremely petty when it comes down to it. Whenever he's mad at Tobio and Tetsuya he'd let Teru be in charge of dinner. No one has the heart to say no when they see Teru's eyes light up in joy as he brainstorms recipes to try out.

Both of them are really good at makeup and self care. They do each other's makeup and hair. They also spend an ungodly amount of time in the bathroom. You want to hang out with these two? Waiting time is 2 hours.

Teru is the one to initiate dates and plans them. Their first couple of dates are the usual restaurant/mall/movie dates. But when Teru learns of Ryutaro's dislike of crowds they move their dates to more outdoorsy locations, like parks.  

Ryutaro can be dense. He doesn't pick up on flirting or pick up lines. I feel like the same goes with jokes they fly by over his head and you need to explain the joke to him, which instantly makes it unfunny and awkward.

Tobio and Tetsuya are the perpetual unfortunate third wheelers. They get it, they're single. Can Ryuteru stop holding hands and looking at each other?? They didn't sign up for this.

I can imagine Ryuteru travelling together after battle bladers for a while before bumping into Tobio and Tetsuya randomly. Tobio thinks they're just besties,, until he sees them holding hands and his brain explodes. Mostly from the fact that he can't believe this fortune telling weirdo got on with someone. Someone so pretty in fact??

Tetsuya is usually in his world most of the time and at first he doesn't realise he's third wheeling. But after he catches on he'd be sick of their bs after a while.

Teru would be super sweet to the two,, he'd be very patient with tetsuya and listen to him rambling about his crab friends.. The crabs like Teru as well :) 

I am so deep into delulu that I gave them a fankid. he doesn't have a name actually I just call him blue baby because he's just a mini ryutaro. absolutely nothing goes on in that pea sized brain but his parents still love him anyway <3 if you want I can make a separate post about adult ryuteru and their spawn because this one is rly long alr.

man it’s been a hot minute since I’ve watched either fusion or sol blaze so idk how many thoughts I have abt them but man I miss them too </3

Tobio is my favorite out of the three he is the most specialest boy ever and I think that’s very important. I like how he is legitimately actually really cool and awesome in between also being silly and lame and short tempered it’s a wonderful balance he strikes. ACTUALLY AS A WHOLE I think with the trio, I love that all three of them have both sides of being kind of insane in their own respective ways while also being able to be kind of sensible in other ways. Tetsuya is obviously the least normal out of the three but I like to think that in between his silliness he is occasionally kind of more closed of and reserved (in his own kind of Tetsuya ways) and he can get caught off guard by the other two if the moment is right. Ryutaro I think I have the least amount of thoughts for just bc I love the other two a lot and again just haven’t watched anything with him in a hot minute but I will say that his whole thing with the dark nebula was really intense and I think that’s such an interesting side of his character to explore. Cuz like, he was one of the first and also one of the most vocal to go against the dark nebula after figuring out what was going on there and it is legitimately really harrowing to watch his desperation trying to save himself from his fate. Again it’s really interesting to explore that especially with a character who is very silly with his whole magic fortune telling schtick otherwise. I like the idea of the trio healing from their experiences together and just the different ways they go about it and like man I miss them </3

out of the three i haven't thought much of him so far and i think i've only drawn him once. his character design is so neat though i love him for that. i like his vibs and I LOVE HIS SPECIAL MOVEEE it's so unique. i do like to see him with tobio and tetsuya

i love his design, it's a little funny. funny guy. i have a few headcanons stored somewhere about him, and that's probably the reason why he's my favorite out of the three. I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN HE WAS IN DESTROYER DOME BUT SO SAD WHEN HE GOT FLOPPED FUCKINGNGGGG HE HAD THE SPECIAL FLASHY SHOW UP AND EVERYTHING.

i dont think about teru very often but he is so epic i love him and his outfit. i think his character is very neat. also i think it was lazagna or someone else who said he got a therapy dog when he was in the hospital but i love that idea

Ryutaro: I like him, he's a little (alot) weird but his role in fusion is really cool!! Now that I think about it I would have loved to see more of how the nebula kids all interacted that would have been really cool, like how did they act among(us) them, especially towards Yu or Tsubasa or Ryuga? much to think about- He would have been perfect in Fury,, maybe to fill the role of Dynamis idk, his character could have had another sort of crisis with the concept of fate and destiny and the world ending, fun stuffs! Also his battling style and special move are really cool I appreciate it a lot, I think it's his personality that's not really appealing to me :/ but he's a cool character none the less!

the oily sea weed: I don't... like him

he gives me the creeps, he did when I was a kid too , like he was the character we joked about a lot because how weird he was but i didn't like seeing him come into a scene :/ Idk now his character gets very old, I do like the crab walk but him saying crab puns at every line is annoying to me :')

Tobiooo: I like him, didn't like his introduction episode as a kid, probably because I wasn't a big fan of Kyoya so an episode with just him was kinda boring, but also because I hate (still do) the fram of Tobio doing that thing with the lollipop. It's totally subjective but it's important in how I view the character :')) But other than that I really like his battling style and his bey is really pretty!! it's also a bit weird that he's the only fusion character we see at the end of fury when the world is ending ? where are the others??
