A RANT ABOUT THE ASPECT OF A CHARACTER THAT I DON'T SEE ANYONE TALK ABOUT AND THAT'S A CRIME

(past) Dream from Rewind. Rewind as in the dsmp fic yes yes.

This is gonna contain some heavy spoilers for Rewind! So yeah, be careful, it's worth figuring out yourself.

Alright, now, his situation is fucking horrifying to be in. I know, I know, he's not the main character and his whole thing lead to horrible abuse in the future, but we're talking about pat Dream here. The one from the timeline where Theo and Toby showed up at the election.

I mean it genuinely. He's stuck in a situation where his whole sense of being is being forcibly and rapidly separated into two horribly exaggerated versions of him, with a tint of his godly ancestors mixed in. And this process cannot be reversed or stopped. He can cling onto grounding himself with his friends all he wants, but it's never going to help him heal completely, only to slow down the process. And he has to choose between these two versions of him, who are him but they're also so painfully not. They're caricatures, exaggerations. One will make him strong and powerful and safe and secure (in a sense) but will force him to hurt his friends and everyone around him. And he doesn't want for that side to win, he has an example of what will happen if he does right at his side, constantly. Theo. But the other side is also not him. Not really. You might think that it's an obvious choice, choose the "good" side, but it's not. Because, sure, then he won't hurt anybody else, but he'll be painfully vulnerable, empathetic, weak (in a way) and sure, he has friends and support now, but world isn't kind. I'm sure there's a reason for why he became cruel in the first place. It's probably not a good one. And he doesn't have an example of what will happen if he chooses this side. The unknown is scary. But either way, what gets me the most is that there's really no good way out of this situation. Either way, he'll be twisted and torn into something inhuman, whatever way that might be. And it already started happening in the story. This information wasn't revealed to him before the tear happened, in the plot, it has already been going on for a bit. And he didn't even notice. Couldn't, probably. That's also scary. So he has to choose, with his fate as well as fate of another person now at his bidding. A person he hurt in the past, but also.. kinda not? From what I remember he starts getting flashbacks from the future too. Which means that it feels like it is all his fault and like he hurt Theo. Which is not entirely accurate either. So with all of these factors playing into it, it's a truly horrifying situation. For everyone involved.

Okay, that's all, just wanted to rant because obviously what Theo and Toby and basically everyone else went through is really fucking bad, I still felt the need to share my thoughts and emphasise.

The rewind au is so silly, so here's some crumbs

When Dream is sent back, he has a full breakdown. Like he is emotionally and mentally unwell while he tries to cope with the fact that everything from the past year and a half of his life just... Stopped existing. Everything is went through was for nothing, all of the trauma he endured and dealt out is just gone. Sapnap and George have to stop him from harming himself during the first few hours of his realization and are the only thing keeping him from a very bad dissociative episode.

Sapnap & George get bits and pieces from the outburst, like Dream accusing them of hating and abandoning them, the prison, and mentions of events and people who have yet to join the server. It's only after they're able to calm him down that they can get a partial explanation (which Dream lies about at first) and get some level of coherent words from Dream.

For the most part, they are among the only people not a part of the time jump to be aware of it. Though they only know what Dream is willing to share, this prompts them to become even closer than in the original timeline. Sapnap specifically would want to avoid any timeline where he and Dream are enemies, and communication becomes a core value for him, which prevents other conflicts from occurring.

Dream, in all of this, is much less interested in becoming close with the rest of the server and comes off as emotionally closed off and cold. He absolutely refuses to overly participate in the server and takes on more of an admin role, making him seem very removed from the players.

One of my favorite c!Wilbur takes that has stuck with me for the two years since I joined this fandom and read my first fanfics back in early January of 2021 is that the buttons in Pogtopia are Wilbur’s chat in the form of Eyes Watching constantly, ceaselessly much like Techno’s Voices Chatter in the same way. I think this was from “Twin of Light” by Alexander_Wesker on AO3 but that fic has been going on for so long that I can’t be bothered to look through the chapters for the exact scene… Although, I have been keeping up with their “The House Always Wins”.

Alright, let's talk Rewind (or my MCYT fics)

i think it's time to finally talk about rewind/remix.

or generally, just my mcyt fics in general.

it's been a while since i updated any of them and trust me, i am very much FILLED WITH GUILT over not updating or continuing them- problem is; i just don't have any motivation in them at the moment. my interest and motivation for them have waned, wilted and withered. the three unfortunate ws that arent wins.

i dont want to say i abandoned them, i hate the thought of abandoning ANY STORY and i like the thought of getting back to them at some point. maybe my motivation will come back, it has in the past and that's a great hope to have.

however i am aware that these stories have been gathering dust and it's possible that motivation will never come back and i hate that.

i know partially why i'm no longer interested? partially- it mainly started with techno's death. it just didn't feel the same anymore now that cc!techno was gone, but if things went differently then maybe i could've continued just as normal. but i'm pretty sure my motivation took a great hit when techno died.

another great hit to my motivation is the whole... thing with cc!dream??? WHICH I WILL NEVER EVEN POKE ABOUT, YOU CANNOT MAKE ME, I WILL IGNORE EVERY ATTEMPT. it felt weird writing about c!dream even though i should REALLY be able to separate the two, cc!s are different from fictional c!s and all that but for some reason i just don't feel too comfy writing him right now.

and since my main series of rewind and remix is MAINLY RELATED TO DREAM- you can see my problem here.

the dream smp is done, over, there is no season 2 and my interest in this fandom is only tethered by the occasional fanfic that i stumble upon and the numerous fanarts that come and go. that interest isn't enough to motivate my writing.

a funny thought though, is that i think i spent a LOT of motivation and kind of burnt myself out in the future back when i was DAILY UPDATING REWIND- like i don't know if you readers remember but i was updating DAILY on rewind. every day, FOR ALMOST A MONTH- something that might never happen again really and i'm still kind of proud of that.

but i'm pretty sure it was very unhealthy of me to do daily updates the way i did- it took A POWER OUTAGE to make me stop doing daily updates and i remember STRESSING OVER NOT UPDATING while the power was out. so yeah, i'm pretty sure i set myself up for failure there XD

but i'm so glad that i was able to at least finish rewind. my very first story that i completed. unfortunately i'm not too confident about finishing the rest of the series (and some other fics).

a friend of mine actually suggested something that i've been thinking about from time to time; i give you guys the outline of what COULD have happened. what i was planning on writing and then completing my works.

it sounds like a good idea but i didn't want to let you guys down in just, giving up like that. but nowadays, it sounds like a better and better alternative than to just wait for my motivation and interest to come back. it's almost been a year already for wishes and family, and remix, i managed to update stream labs a few months ago so that's hopeful but the others...

okay, i'm going to give YOU GUYS the choice here. i'll tell the ao3 readers about it as an important update author's note, but im going to make a poll about this choice soon and i'll even pin it on my tumblr.

it'll last- maybe two weeks? but yeah, it's the least i can do to see what you guys want.

Wanted to talk a little bit about my fic "If I could Do it again"

It takes place before Wilbur is revived but after Tommy dies

Its about bench trio time travelling to Manburg era, so they get different names ( Theseus and Toby, Ranboo stays the same) but if you notice, I have them calling each other by their "real" names at points, this is on purpose! at first its them slipping up, then later on they only call each other their original names during heavily emotional moments

Ponk wasnt supposed to become the main villain, he was only supposed to be there for one chapter, but he somehow became this way

I feel like I cant write Ranboo that well because his dsmp self and irl self are very different, so I have no clue how to write them

There are some moments mentioned that aren't canon, because Ive just been thinking about them and want to include them some how

I wasn't planning to write c!Wilbur out, I just saw a perfect opportunity for it and I did

Honestly, in my main au (which is just what I just believe in in general) c!Dream doesn't became fully irredeemable until after he gets the revival book, something about power corrupting him or him reading it corrupts his brain

I have no clue how to write most of these characters pls help me

Its inspired from a few fics, To Finish A Symphony, Rewind, Breathings Just a Rhythm, and probably other fics I've read and just forgotten that they inspired this.

Its advertised as Bench trio but mostly its been clingy duo, im fixing that in the new chapter i promise

Ive been writing this fic for TWO years, which is just wild to me

What happened to the old timeline (Where Bench trio teleported from, the canon time line basically) is that it was destroyed by the Egg, and when it was getting destroyed Karl opened a time portal and time travelled to the last time period he travelled to, which just happens to be back in the manburg era (because thats where he sent c!tommy, and ranboo and tubbo followed him)

I made the Egg a lott more ctommy centric because I love him hehe/p

I know it might not really look like c!Tommy, but you'll just have to take my word for it. It's him :] Just him after spending a lot of time isolated under c!Dream's thumb.

What I will tell you about the AU, it is cannon divergent during the exile time. And it is very much inspired by some of my favorite dsmp fics/aus. Like you might notice the enchanted table words, that are inspired/taken from a-non-ymouswriter's fic "rewind" on ao3 (which if you know me you know I am not normal about^^) Another fic this au takes a lot of inspo from is lovelucigoosey's "Checkmate" series (which again if you know me, I am not normal about :D) This au still has a lot of thinking needed, but I just wanted to start getting some stuff out there :P More info and art for the au soon! (Helpfully 😅)

The Size Shifting Friend Chapter II (Just a bit of it-)

I can't think of how to continue this, so here is a filler-

I gotta admit, I have no information about dsmp, I have only watched a few Las Nevada's streams and the rest is from google :v. Don't judge me if there are any mistakes!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quackity once again was visiting Slime with Foolish and were headed to his cave, even after a few weeks they still could not believe how much has happened to him. They stumble across Slimes home and proceed to go in.

-Hey Charlie! -Quackity approaches Slime excitedly and waves to him.

-Quackity and Foolish! From Las Nevada's! - Slime welcomes them how he used to address them previously.

-How are you man? Anything new?-Quackity sits beside him.

Slime frowns a bit, and turns back to Quackity.

-Charlie? You alright? -Quackity also expresses a concerned look towards Slime.

-Well...Y'know how a few weeks ago those soldiers and tanks came, right?

Quackity nods.

-I'm just wondering...Who sent them?...

Quackity stops, he didn't think about that, they couldn't have just...come randomly...right?

-We don't have to worry about that now...They are gone, that's all that matters, right?-Foolish speaks up.

-Yea...Yeah you're right. It's nothing to worry about.-Quackity smiles softly, still confused.

-Maybe I should go back and rewind the camera footage, I could probably spot who came near Las Nevadas recently.

Slime nods, he kneels down and puts a hand in front of Quackity and Foolish.

-Want me to help you get back to Las Nevadas?

Quackity gets on, so does Foolish but more hesitantly.

-How are we not sinking in slime right now? -Foolish questions

-It's harder to sink when I have a form taken.

-Huh? -Quackity questions it.

-Well, you know Slimes don't have a form! They are just...pieces of goop.

-Ah! right-Quackity and Foolish shrug but don’t acknowledge it.

Slime tries to not stand up too much, so he doesn’t get spotted and reaches the end of the forest in a few minutes, instead of the usual hour or so walk.

-See you guys tomorrow? –Slime asks as he puts down both of them.

-Of course Charlie. –Quackity waves and starts going back to Las Nevadas.

------------------------------Few hours later-------------------------------

After watching the camera footage, Quackity only spotted a few people, Of course Fundy and Foolish, then he saw…Purpled. Fuck.
