NSFW Alphabet with Druig the Eternal
Warnings: Exactly as the title states, 18+ minors do not interact. Mentions of overstimulation, assumed unprotected sex, fingering, oral (giving and receiving), praise, degradation, CNC, cream pies, edging, teasing, semi-public sex, choking, gender neutral reader? (Tell me if that’s wrong), not proofread and written when I had been awake for 35 hours straight.
Word count: 2K
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Druig has known he has more time than most on this world since the dawn of the earth, and he uses that fact to his advantage when taking care of you after sex. Even after you’ve finished, he never just pulls away to end things. Druig always fucks you through and through your orgasms, his slender digits still scissoring slowly inside of you as the wave of euphoria you just experienced fully passes. He will wordlessly make his way into your mind and repeat over and over again how good you did and how beautiful you look. Letting those soft praises play on loop as he steps away only for a moment to grab a warm cloth to clean you up, then tossing the fabric aside and tucking you into his side as he holds you close until you drift to sleep.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Druig doesn’t care much for one part of himself over another, but when it comes to you your eyes are his favorite part about you. He loves turning them gold when he encapsulates you with his powers, he loves the way your eyes flutter back into your head as he pleases you so intently, he loves how you will look directly at him as if he’s the most interesting man in the world.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Knowing that Eternals cannot produce children is something Druig used to both of your advantages, because while he still can cum, there’s no chance of getting you pregnant when he does so. So obviously Druig loves to stuff his cum as deep inside of you as possible, in the most primal ways he can think of, always adding in a few more thrusts for good measure to make sure you’re nice and full of his essence <3
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
After you and Druig established consensual non-consent his favorite thing to do is sneak into your mind when you’re sleeping and make you start dreaming about him inside of you, so that when you wake up it’s the first thing on your mind and you immediately pounce on him, and what do you know, somehow he’s always ready to go.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Druig is older than some fossils, and he has more knowledge than any well versed historian could ever dream of. So yes, I think it’s safe to say he’s well-versed in pleasing you.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
As much as Druig loves to use his powers in the bedroom his favorite position is when he’s sitting up and you’re on his lap riding him like no tomorrow. Your hands placed firmly on his board shoulders to help steady yourself as you bounce up and down his length, your forehead resting on top of his head as you focus on not finishing too soon while soft whines escape your lips. Your chest right in his face where he has full view of his second favorite part of you. Druig loves when you’re fucking yourself on him and he gets to watch how much you truly enjoy it more than anything else.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
As much as Druig shows his softer side for you, that soft side isn’t around much in the bedroom. In the moment Druig’s main focus is your pleasure, and there’s nothing goofy about that. He won’t crack a joke until you’re throughly fucked out and can’t even understand his words.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
He’s no animal, but he always keeps things realistic. The carpet matched the drapes, and he keeps himself fairly well groomed down there because it’s what works best for both of you.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
No matter if it’s a quickie or if it’s an all night long marathon, Druig is always deeply intimate and in the moment with you. Soft, dirty words whispered in your ear to edge you on. Always touching you in more than one place at a time to keep you guessing and begging for more.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Jacking off has never been something Druig felt the need or urge to do, but most frequently his hand falls upon himself when his mouth is busy pleasuring you. He can’t contain himself when he hears your beautiful moans and tastes your sweet juices on his lips. Druig will have his nose buried in your essence and moan into your heat as he gives his throbbing member a few swift tugs, holding himself off from doing anything more until you’ve finished first.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
It’s somewhat controversial but as mentioned earlier, consensual non-consent (CNC) is one of yours and Druig’s favorite actives in bed. It’s so relaxing to just let him take over your entire mind and when you come back around you’re completely fucked out. It’s great for Druig too to make you make of mess of yourself for him before diving into you himself.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
There’s a lot of places Druig likes to do the deed with you. A beautiful waterfall hidden in the Amazon forest, tucked away in the garden of his followers making, even on the rainforest floor because he loves how primal it feels to literally fuck you into the ground. But his favorite place of all to fuck you is on top of the alter stand in his humble house of worship. Laying your back against the cold flat wood while your arms are wrapped around his neck he’ll imagine that all of his disciples are with you two in the house of worship witnessing the way he is thrusting in and out of you. Because your moans are the highest prayer of all.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Druig is so completely and utterly obsessed with you that just about anything you do can and will get him going. You’ll be tending to a garden and he’ll tell you how pretty you look on your knees, or it will be extra humid out and you’ll be putting your hair up in a ponytail and next thing you know he’s pulling your hair back and flattening his palm against your neck, telling you your heart is starting to race.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Age play is a no for Druig. He never wants to feel older than you, wiser than you, or above you in any way. He wants to be your equal, and doesn’t like to be reminded of all the years he’s endured on this earth before he met you.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
As pretty as you look with his cock stuffed down your throat, Druig prefers to be the one pleasing you instead of you pleasing him. He would spend days on end if you’d let him with his tongue prodding expertly at your entrance and his nose pushing up against your clit.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
A little bit of everything is always the right way to go in Druig’s opinion. He’ll almost always start off slow and sensual, and work in those high energy moments where you’re babbling and screaming his name as he roughly jack rabbits into you sending you over the edge.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Druig would never turn down a quickie, especially if presented with the chance. Most of your quickies happen when he loses his resolve and just needs to have your right then and there, and there’s nothing more satisfying than simply being able to take you whenever and wherever he wants.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
There’s two kinds of risky situations Druig will put you in. One is when you two have the quickies and he’s fucking you in an open garden or in his house of worship with the door unlocked, and he loves knowing any one of his followers could spot you two at any given moment. The other risky situation Druig likes to put you in is around the Eternals when he will get a little too handsy under the table or even under a shared blanket during movie night, you’re more of risk than he is in these situations because you’re the one who always makes a sound.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Never forget this man is a celestial, a god essentially. There’s no such thing as needing a break for him or running out of energy in the bedroom. Druig aims to please and please and please you until you can’t take anymore, only when you’re satiated, so is he.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Technological advancements weren’t always Druig’s favorite part of evolution, but as soon as he learned what good can come from adding a cheeky little vibrator into the mix, it became his new best friend.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
As an eternal Druig does have duties and responsibilities to attend to, and it’s always when he’s about to go off on a mission or busy himself with something else entirely when he really leans into teasing and taunting you. Mostly going inside of your head, telling you exactly what to do, and how you’re going to do it without him ever being there. But hell never let you finish yourself off without him there, but he’ll tease and edge you for hours if he can. He’s unfair but the reward is so worth it.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
He’s definitely not overly loud or vocal in bed aside from giving demands and or praises, maybe a little grunting or whining if he’s close and ready to finish. But overall he’s pretty quiet so he can tune into the sounds you’re making.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Druig loves to make you cum as many times as possible, especially if he’s going down on you he’ll make sure to double down on his actions immediately after you’ve finished to build up another twice as intense orgasm.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
He is handcrafted, not a flaw or an inch missing anywhere on that man. He’s surely not too large to the point where you’re in pain every time, and by no means small in any way shape or form. His girth is slightly larger than average, always a right squeeze of a delicious one. His length will hit your cervix when he’s holding tightly onto your hips and slamming into you repeatedly, other times when he’s not as rough he’s got a bit a curve that brushed against your g spot in just the right place to have you seeing starts every time.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Druig had a past with people who are now lost to history, but he never felt for them the way he feels for you. Therefore Druig is always yearning for you, willing to take you whenever you ask, and to do whatever you need.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
To circle back to the beginning, Druig will always make sure you’ve fallen asleep first afterwards in case you need a glass of water or something to that effect. Once you’re snoring softly in his embrace, he pulls your impossibly closer and allows sleep to take him as well.

a special invitation—
Hi, everyone!
I would like to invite you to my first ever Tumblr sleepover. To celebrate my 2000-follower milestone, I decided that I needed to do something special and something good. In all honesty, I only started writing fanfiction on Tumblr because I wanted to be a part of a writing community. I wanted to share my craft and at first, it was quite hard. I never expected to get past 500 followers, let alone reach 2,000! It wouldn’t have happened without you, so thank you.
I really want you guys to know me more in this event. I feel like you all think of my as a grey blob writing fics and complaining her life away. I also want to learn more about you guys, too—your interests and everything else. That’s why, for this event, you will have to bring something (or a few things) to really participate. Here’s what you can bring:
Author asks: ask me anything and everything about me; except personal identifiers. I will be answering them honestly.
FMK, never have I ever, would you rathers
Any request for a blurb or a headcanon. It doesn’t matter if it’s smut, angst, or fluff; I will be opening my request box for all my characters—yes, that includes Harry Styles. (Make sure to take note of my guidelines, though.)
Ask / give me recs! Fic recs, book recs, song recs—anything.
Rant, vent, share us something about you! Crushes, how your day was, how your week was. Tell us something you’d like to share.
Submit memes/videos and other forms of media you’d like to share. (I won’t be posting offensive ones.)
Keep your eyes peeled for announcements, drops, and releases! (Sneak peeks, discontinued work, and fun gifts.)
The event will be held from February 19th-25th. There will be no specific time frame to cater people living in different timezones. I really hope to see you guys flood my request box and for us to get to know each other more. Please, please, please come!
See you there! Love you.

“Stop.” He grabbed you by the wrist and pulled you in closer by your hips. “I remember exactly what happened. I was about to apologize for it.”
THE SCREAM I SCRUMPT
listen… I know there were a lot of other bigger parts but I love the small details. I love lovey Druig.
old foes, new flames (no one knows me like you do)

summary: You and Druig were childhood friends, never one without the other, but that all ended when he got a girlfriend and things changed. Eventually it was too much to be hear him and at the first opportunity you had, you left town. Years later, an invitation to Wanda's wedding brought you back and nothing was the same.
warnings: while this story doesn't have any outright explicit content there are mentions of drinking, smoking, and sexual innuendos. minors please do not interact. angsty, stubborn idiots, fluffy ending.
an: I went a little out of my comfort zone with this one, I really hope you enjoy it. feedback is much appreciated :)
m a s t e r l i s t
Going back to the place you grew up wasn't something you ever wanted to do again. But when Wanda, one of your childhood best friends called and asked you to be the maid of honor in her wedding. How could you say ‘no’?
It was a super last minute thing. She hasn't been with the guy very long at all. But when Pietro said he didn't have any concerns you decided against calling in a welfare check.
"So she didn't tell you who he is?" Yelena asked.
"No, She did. I just forgot his name and I'm too stubborn to ask." You laughed out, "All I remember is that she met him a few months ago at her college graduation party and that he's super hot."
You and Yelena were roommates freshman year and the rest was history. It was a rare occasion you were apart. So when Wanda said you could bring a plus one, well, Yelena was the obvious choice. It’s not like you were dating anyone and could bring them, not that you would want to bring anyone you were dating back to that place anyways. She wasn't excited about the four hour train ride but you were. Not having to drive and having the opportunity to move around, even just to stretch, was preferable.
“So,” She asked you, with an hour of the ride left, "do you think he's going to be there? I remember you said he was her friend growing up too."
"I didn't ask. She only told me that it's in a few days and that she already has my dress picked out." The neighborhood you grew up in didn't have a lot of kids your age, just you and three others. Wanda, her twin brother Pietro, and a quiet boy named Druig. You and him had a different connection than you did with the twins, for a long time you thought the two of you were inseparable. But as you got older he became more independent of the group, you tried to be happy for him and not take it personally but it was hard.
You even took it well when he announced he had a girlfriend. That was until she made a joke about you following Druig around like a lost puppy. Looking back on it it was naive of you to hope he’d defend you somehow, but it felt like a punch to the gut when he not only laughed but agreed with her.
After that the only time you spoke was when you were insulting each other. For a short while Wanda and Pietro felt like they had to pick a side but that was the last thing you wanted, Druig too. Thankfully there were only a few occasions where all of your paths crossed, but when they did you made sure to avoid him completely. There was no way you were going to be the reason things got too weird.
“Well if he is and he says anything out of line,” she cracked her knuckles, “I’ll handle it.”
You laughed under your breath, knowing how truthful her threat was, “Let’s just hope he’s forgotten I exist.”
The scenery started to get all too familiar and all your mind could focus on was the last time you were here. You left a few days after graduation with no thoughts of returning, if it was anyone else but Wanda asking you to come back the idea wouldn’t have even been entertained.
Her and Pietro were the ones to drive you to the train station and it was obvious they were very against the whole thing, but thankfully they let you go without a fuss. Pietro had let it slip that he had invited Druig, in hopes of reconciliation or something, but you knew he wouldn’t. Not after what you had said to him the night before.
~~
“Who’s there?” You woke up to the sound of rocks being thrown at your bedroom window.
There wasn’t an answer but you heard the leaves from the tree being rustled. Whoever it was had definitely done this before.
“Wanda? Pietro? Please tell me it’s one of you just trying to scare me.”
“Afraid not.”
You’d recognize that voice anywhere. “What are you doing Druig? Shouldn’t you be climbing out of someone else’s window and not into mine?”
He had finally made his way up the tree and onto the branch that had grown perfectly level with the window. The last time he did that felt like a lifetime ago, there was no reason for him to be doing that now. You didn’t want him there. Unfortunately for you he was climbing in before the words “you need to leave” could finish coming out of your mouth.
Druig looked around, “Everything still looks the same.”
“Not everyone changes their whole personalities overnight.”
He picked up a picture frame you had hanging on the wall. It was from your thirteenth birthday, in it you were with Wanda, Pietro and Druig at the top of a ferris wheel. You weren’t angry enough at him to rip him out of the photo though, but you were upset enough to put a sticky note over his face. “My mom still has this photo on the mantel, I’ve begged her for years to take it down.”
“How a saint like Ajak could raise a devil like you is something I’ll never understand.” Did he practically break into your bedroom just to be a dick? “Why are you here, Druig?”
“I heard from a little bird that you were flying the nest, never to return.” He put the photo back where he found it and walked over to your bed, sitting on the edge of it. “I wanted to say goodbye.”
Out of habit, you followed him across the room and sat beside him. You told yourself it was so you didn’t have to talk as loud, not wanting your parents to wake up, but deep down you knew it was muscle memory. “Usually that obligation is to the people who actually like the person that’s leaving.”
You noticed his eyes were glossed over, and you were close enough to him that you could smell the beer on his breath. Did he really have the nerve to show up in your room after all that had happened, while intoxicated, to talk about you leaving?
“Yeah, well..” Druig was usually so quick witted, you couldn’t put your finger on it (nor did you care to) but something was off about him, “it just took me by surprise. I never thought any of us would leave this place.”
He didn’t say it in a rude way, but something about him saying it at all made part of your brain short circuit. “You don’t know me Druig, not anymore. You treat me like shit for three years and show up here in the middle of the night for what? To make a pointless comment about a photograph and act sad that I’m leaving? You’re the reason I’m leaving! I can’t stand to be in this zip code wondering if I’m going to run into you, who you’ll be with, and what taunts you and your friends will throw my way.
“I have a long list of reasons why I want to leave and never come back, and since I’m too tired to tell you the rest of them just know that they all begin with you.” Somehow you had managed to get that all out without raising your voice or shedding a single tear and yet it didn’t make you feel better. You were so in your feelings that you missed the switch flip in Druig’s mind.
“I just came by to tell you that you’ll be back, you’re not special enough to leave this place for good. And when you do, I’ll be waiting to tell you ‘I told you so’.” His tone was cold and unforgiving, more than ever before.
He stood up and walked back to your window, but just before he climbed out he called your name. “Hey Yn..”
You snapped back, “What, Druig?”
“I’ll see you soon.”
~~
It was midafternoon when you arrived at your parents house and it was already too much. Your mom wanted to show you all of the renovations before your bags ever touched the ground. Your dad wanted to show you the new pattern he mowed into the lawn, like you didn’t see it walking up to the front door.
“Mom, dad, I love you both so much and I can’t wait to see everything but give us like an hour to put our bags down and I don’t know, breathe?” You pleaded, hoping your parents would take into consideration the eight hour train ride you and Yelena just endured.
“Oh of course,” your dad agreed.
The two of you took that as the perfect time to walk up the stairs to your old bedroom, you had almost got to the top when your mom called for you. “Yn, I forgot to tell you. There’s a surprise waiting for you in your room.”
“Okay?” You replied, and then whispered to Yelena, “I’m scared, either she threw everything away and it’s unrecognizable or it’s a new pillow or something.”
“ME first!” Yelena barged past you, throwing the door nearly off its hinges before letting out a sound somewhere between a cat being murdered and a burglar alarm. You watched in slow motion as she flung her bag towards the window where a human shaped object fell out of it.
“What the fuck was that!?” You shouted at her as you both ran to the open window. There was a man laying on the lawn sprawled on his side.
“Oh look,” Yelena nudged your elbow with hers, “your dad’s lawn looks great!”
“I knew I liked you!” You could hear your dad yell from the front porch. “Druig, son? Is that you? Why are you laying on the lawn? You’re going to mess up the pattern.”
“Druig?” You asked in a panic to no one in particular. “Oh my god, Yelena! You killed Druig!”
The look on her face was blank, like she was wondering if she should care. “No, it was self defense. He deserved it.”
“Murder is murder Yelena!”
“Honey, we don't have the right insurance to cover up a murder.” Your mom chimed in from the doorway.
“Nope,” you heard a groan, “Still alive. A little less high than I was five minutes ago, but alive.”
“What are you doing down there?” You yelled to him, grateful he was alive but suddenly pissed off that he was there to begin with.
“So you’re like this because of your parents, not in spite of them.” Yelena said, the puzzle pieces finally clicking into place.
You ignored her and ran down the stairs and out the front door. As much as you wanted to make sure he was okay, you also wanted him gone as soon as he could stand. There was no way you were giving your parents yet, apparently, another chance of letting him in the house.
He started to sit up as you made your way out of the front door, so you asked him again, “What are you doing here, Druig?”
He took another minute to get up and wipe himself free of a few leaves and branches he took down with him. You couldn’t help but notice how his hair was longer, something you always told him he could pull off. How dare he take your advice when you weren’t around to gloat about it? And were those… Did he get tattoos?
Yelena nudged you again to get your attention, dragging you away from thoughts you shouldn’t have been having, just in time for Druig to walk up to you both. “I wanted to be the first to welcome you home…to be the one to remind you that I told you so.” He smirked, “Look who’s back.”
“Leave.” You demanded. “Leave now and leave me alone. I’m here until Wanda says ‘I do’ and then I’m going back home where I don’t have to see you ever again.”
Durig’s eyes never left yours and the smirk had grown to a full on grin. “Oh this is perfect. She didn’t tell you?” Then he looked at Yelena and laughed, “She didn’t tell her!”
You crossed your arms in annoyance, “Who didn’t tell me what?”
“Wanda. She didn’t tell you who she’s marrying?” You shook your head in confusion, waiting for him to say he was the groom even though you knew that wasn’t the case. “She’s getting married to my best friend, Bucky. So can you guess what that makes me?”
You tried your best to hold it in but a slew of “fucks” fell out of your mouth. You heard your mother shouting from inside that you could put a sailor to shame but you didn’t care. Of course Wanda was so vague with the details, she knew you’d politely decline the maid of honor (and maybe the invitation all together) position if you knew the truth. “The best man.”
“The BEST best man, actually. I beat Pietro in a race for it.”
“You’re mistaking me for someone who cares.” All the years of therapy didn’t do a damn thing. Well, you didn’t punch him so maybe it helped a little. “I’m going to call Wanda and talk to her about this. You’re welcome to walk in traffic, or don’t, I don’t really care. Just.. leave, please.”
You didn’t walk far, Druig didn’t show any sign of leaving and as much as you wanted her to, you couldn’t let Yelena hurt him again. Or threaten to hurt him again, because she would and the next time wouldn’t be an accident.
Wanda sent you to voicemail three times, so either she was super busy or she knew that you knew, so you texted her instead.
Yn: Hey! I’m back. When are we meeting up? I want to meet your future husband and hear all about how you met and how grossly in love you are! We can talk about all you need me to do, who is all in the wedding party. More specifically the best man. Do I know him?
She responded almost instantly.
Wanda: Oh good, I’m so glad you made it safe! I can swing by in an hour if that works for you?
Yn: That works. Are you going to avoid my questions then too?
Wanda: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Yn: When did Druig get tattoos?
Wanda: I’ll be there in 5
You put your phone back in your pocket and walked back down the walkway where Yelena was obviously running out of patience. There was a part of you that wanted to ask her to go inside so you could talk to him in private, he was always less of a dick head when others weren’t around, while the other part of you wasn’t in a hurry to be alone with him at all. “Wanda said she’s going to be here in five minutes, is there a reason you’re still here or do you get off on being somewhere you’re not wanted?”
He glanced back in your direction, his eyes locked with yours. “She might not want me here,” he pointed at Yelena and then to you, “but you do. You can tell yourself whatever lie you want, Yn, but you’ve never been able to lie to me.”
Before you got a chance to tell him where he could shove the finger he was pointing at you, Wanda had pulled into the driveway. She walked up to Yelena before ever meeting your eyes, she made sure she positioned herself perfectly when she gave Yelena a hug and asked her how the trip was, her back facing you.
“Yeah, yeah. You two missed each other, I love that for you both.” You were getting slightly impatient. Between waking up early, traveling, not getting a chance to relax, Druig and Wanda stalling, you felt like you were going to explode. “Can someone who isn’t Druig please fill in the gaps for me?”
Wanda turned to give you a look of sympathy, then spoke to Druig. “Bucky’s home, he’s waiting for you.”
“He’ll be fine,” he began to walk away, but turned to give you one last look, “I had a promise to fulfill.”
Thankfully Wanda had jumped right in and explained everything, from how she met Bucky to the Druig of it all. Apparently Druig introduced them and it was love at first sight, you ignored the voice in your head telling you that this was his plan all along. That he knew short of a funeral, the only way you’d come back was Wanda getting married. You would be giving him way too much credit if you actually entertained that thought.
“I’m sorry,” Wanda said, pulling you out of your thoughts, “you said once that he was tolerable now and I just kind of assumed it wouldn’t be an issue.”
“Yeah, because I live in a different time zone, not because he’s a tolerable person!” You pouted. “Look, I’m sorry. I’m here for your big day not to make you feel bad. The wedding is in what, three days? I can handle being around him for three days, but only because it’s you.”
“I’m glad you feel that way because,” she hesitated for a moment and then braced for impact, “he’s going to be helping you set everything up in the backyard, Bucky put Druig’s name down to accept everything as it gets dropped off just in case you got delayed arriving.”
“That’s, that’s fair.” You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. “So what can I do for you now that I’m here?”
Wanda smiled and hugged you, excited that you weren’t upset with her. Not like you ever could be. “I just need you to come over at some point tomorrow to try on the dress and I’ll give you the itinerary for Friday and Saturday then. Friday is pretty much just you and Druig setting everything up and then Saturday I basically just need you at my side.”
It could have been worse, all you really had to get through was Friday, and Yelena being there would give you a distraction. You would only have to be around him for a minimal amount of time the day of the wedding if you played your cards right. At least that’s what you thought.
“Yelena,” Wanda said in a hopeful tone, “you can help Yn on Friday if you want but if you don’t feel like being a human buffer, my brother is driving to the city to pick up a few cases of wine and I’m sure he would enjoy your company.”
She knew what she was doing. She knew Pietro and Yelena had some weird unspoken thing. You were on Facetime with Wanda one night and she was with her brother, Yelena had gotten home and popped in to say hi to Wanda and then gave her full focus to Pietro. You ended up giving her his number before they completely hijacked the call.
They texted all the time but never talked about meeting in person. To your knowledge she didn’t tell him she was coming to the wedding, and you suspected Wanda had kept it a secret too. Yelena was never the serious relationship type, but you had a feeling if anyone could change that it was Pietro.
She looked at you, silently asking if you’d mind. Of course you did, but you weren’t going to hold her (or anyone) back because of your personal issues with someone. “Go and hang out with Pietro, I’ll be fine.”
“You sure? Because,” she paused, “I texted him when we got here and we already have potential plans. I was waiting to see what your schedule looked like before we made anything official.”
“Tomorrow too?”
“He wanted to show me around but since you’re free most of the day I was just going to push that to Friday.”
You thought about it for a moment, going over your options. The selfish part of you wanted to see if you could just be the third wheel for the day, but since you didn’t really make plans outside of helping with the wedding you decided it wasn’t fair to do that. You got to see Yelena everyday, if she was comfortable going off gallivanting with Pietro then you weren’t going to get in the middle of it. Maybe they’d be the next ones to have a last minute wedding. “No, you go and have fun! It’ll probably take my mom half the day to show me all the changes to the house, I can entertain myself after that.”
“Well that sounds depressing.” Wanda chimed in.
You laughed and rolled your eyes at her, “Do you really think I have the attention span for that? No, I’m going to walk around and be nostalgic. See where I end up. Nothing super dramatic.”
“Oh good, we wouldn’t want that.” It was her turn to roll her eyes at you. “If you want, you’re more than welcome to run errands with me.”
“No offense, but I’d rather spend the day with Druig. I don’t even like running my own errands.” You all couldn’t help but laugh at that.
After that Wanda had gotten a call from Bucky, something about the cake. She excused herself, reminding you that her offer still stood, and you and Yelena went back in the house.
~~
The next morning Yelena woke you up, letting you know that she was leaving. “Are you sure you don’t mind?”
You sat up to check the time, 8:07, there was no point trying to go back to sleep. “Yeah I don’t care, I”m going to get ready and head out soon too. Text me if Pietro gets weird, I’ll call you and fake an emergency or something.”
She knew you meant it, and you knew you wouldn’t have to do it.
Over the next hour you ate breakfast with your parents and indulged them when they asked if they could show you everything finally. Again. When the tour was over you quickly got ready and rushed out the door before they found a way to keep you inside all day.
It wasn’t that you didn’t want to spend time with them, you did. It was just that you knew they wanted you to move back home and you didn’t want to give them the chance to bring it up. It was easy for them to let you go the first time, they were under the impression you’d come back when you decided you weren’t going for your bachelor’s degree. That was three years ago and their “subtlety” of convincing you to come back was getting more and more obvious.
But of course when you dodge one bullet another one comes flying, or however that saying goes. Druig was in your parents driveway. Scratch that, Druig and his motorcycle were in your parents driveway. “Finally, I’ve been waiting for you for 20 minutes.”
“Did I wake up in a reality where I asked?”
He swung one leg over the bike and put on his helmet, offering you an extra one. “I heard you don’t have any plans today.”
Damn Wanda. She told him on purpose.
Your curiosity got the better of you, “And you made some for us?”
“No, but you can accompany me to mine.” Was a smirk permanently plastered on his face? It infuriated you to no end. Unfortunately, for no one but you, it also made him super attractive.
“Fuck you.”
“You weren’t on my to do list today but I can add you to it if you want.” Did he really just say that?
“Excus-” The sound of his bike roaring to life cut you off. You couldn’t make out what he said after that, but he extended his arm and offered you the helmet again.
Both of you were a bit surprised when you took it. You had never been on a motorcycle before so when Druig grabbed your hands and put them around his waist you flinched away from him. “Do you want to fall off?”
Obviously not. “Fine. But just know-”
“That what? Being this close to me drives you crazy?” He grabbed your hands and put him around his waist again, holding them a little tighter than he did before. “You’ll get over it.”
He revved his bike, probably so he didn’t have to hear yet another response to another one of his slick comments, and began to drive through the neighborhood. You had no idea where he was taking you and was slightly too afraid to open your eyes to guess.
For the first time since you found out it was him who fell out of your window you started to wonder why you were entertaining Druig and his antics. Was it for Wanda’s sake? Could therapy be working more than you thought? Maybe the distance had allowed you to outgrow him enough for it to not hurt anymore. Two things you decided that you knew for sure was that time and distance made you forget the feelings you had for him, and having to hold onto him for dear life solidified that they were back.
After what felt like an eternity, you felt the bike turn right and slow down. Only when it was no longer moving and had gone silent did you feel safe enough to open your eyes.
“You don’t gotta stop holding me,” he put a hand on your thigh and gently squeezed it a couple of times, “but you gotta let go of me long enough for us both to get off.”
Feelings be damned, his cocky attitude brought you back to reality. You let go of him and got your feet on the ground as quickly as you could. “You wish. So, where are we?”
If you took a moment to look around before you asked, it would have been obvious. “When did they close it down?”
“Last year.” The movie theater was your favorite place to be growing up. Not just because of the movies you saw there, but because of the easily accessible roof that you and everyone your age would hang out on after your respectable movies were over. Before things got weird between you two, you and Druig were attached at the hip and the roof was your favorite spot to hang out. After things got weird, you stopped going as much and eventually not at all. You never knew if he continued to go or not. “But they never took down the ladder.”
He gestured for you to go first but you stood there frozen. “Why are we doing this? Why did you bring me here?”
“Can we both just cut the act for a bit? I’m not used to it anymore.” His tone was laced with exhaustion.
As much as you related to his words, old habits do die hard. “Then take me home, wouldn’t want you getting used to being around me.”
He pointed from you to the ladder again, “Climb the damn ladder, Yn.”
You complied, convincing yourself you were only doing so out of pure curiosity.
When you got to the top you realized why Druig wanted you up there so badly. There was a huge blanket spread out with nice outdoor furniture set up around a cooler and a picnic basket. A lot of thought seemed to go into what was obviously a last minute thing, but you wondered why it was a thing at all. Why would he want to spend more time together than necessary?
“Take a seat,” he put his hand on the small of your back, encouraging you to once again take the lead, “it took Pietro way too long to get these up here.”
You took a seat on one of the chairs while Druig took the one across from you, but not before almost taking the one beside you. “You would make him do all the work.”
“That’s not what I said.” He began to take out food from the picnic basket, attentively placing what looked to be sandwiches, chips, and sweets out on the table. Your favorites. “You have a habit of taking everything I say the wrong way.”
“I do not.”
He grabbed two drinks out of the cooler, handing you one and keeping the other for himself. “Okay, not always. But to be fair he offered to do most of the heavy lifting, something about getting a workout in before meeting up with that scary friend of yours. And I made the food.”
“I can’t wait to tell Yelena you think she’s scary. “ You said before you took a bite of your sandwich.
“Oh I’m sure she knows, someone doesn’t get to be that terrifying by accident.”
Conversation stayed light for the rest of the time you ate, from what you majored in to the auto repair shop he opened a few years ago. It felt nice to just talk to him again without any hostility, like it used to when things were normal. Being in a secluded environment was the key, you doubted it would be that easy at the wedding while being around so many people who were secretly waiting to see which one of you take things too far first.
Then Druig had to go and ruin it. “So can we talk about it now?”
“Talk about what?”
His eyes came close but they wouldn’t quite meet yours. “About how we went from being inseparable to me having to beg Wanda for updates on your life.”
If Druig was right about anything, it was you taking what he had to say the wrong way. “Are you fucking serious? You don’t remember?”
“What? No I meant-”
You stood up and walked towards the ladder, “I don’t care, I really don’t. I’m leaving. Unfortunately I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Stop.” He grabbed you by the wrist and pulled you in closer by your hips. “I remember exactly what happened. I was about to apologize for it.”
The way the light hit his blue eyes had you hypnotized. “I'm listening.”
“If either of us was a lost puppy it was me. I didn’t realize it at first, not until I found out you were leaving. I showed up at the twins house to tell them my revelation, begging them to tell me what I could do to make things right.” His train of thought was all over the place but so was your concentration. His left hand was still on your hip while his right had traveled its way up to your cheek. “Wanda told me your plans, Pietro said I should show up and tell you everything. It felt selfish to tell you something so heavy after finding out how excited you were to leave, I always thought things would just somehow go back to normal in college or something..
“So I drank my feelings and showed up at your house. I said something that hurt your feelings, again, and you snapped and I said some fucked up shit. I went to tell you that I loved you and ended up doing the exact opposite.”
If he said anything after that your brain didn’t register it. You only had water but it felt like you drank a whole bottle of wine. Before you knew it your hands were pulling his face closer to yours, closing the small amount of distance there was between you.
His lips on yours felt foreign, yet welcoming. More than.
The way one of his hands comfortably held your jaw while the other was tangled in your hair sent a fire through you that you had never felt before. When his tongue swiped over your lips you knew you were a goner, he swallowed the soft moan that escaped your lips. Druig had made you feel a lot of things over the years but in that moment he made you feel at home.
“Stop,” you put your hand on his chest and pushed away, forcing space between you. “This can’t happen.”
You didn’t stay to hear him out, but that didn’t stop him from following you down the ladder and begging to understand what just happened.
“Yn, talk to me! What the fuck happened up there?” You both walked past his bike and down the sidewalk. There wasn’t anywhere you were walking to exactly, you just wanted to get as far away from the moment as you could. “Did I do something you didn’t want me to?”
There was something in his voice that made you stop. “No, really no. But this,” you gestured between the two of you, “can’t happen. I’m only here for two more days and-”
“Then stay.”
“It’s not that simple, Druig.”
“Why not?” He pleaded with you, asking a question you didn’t even know the answer to.
“Look, I promise to act normal tomorrow and for the wedding, I won’t tell anyone, Wanda will have the wedding she deserves and me and Yelena will go back home and you’ll never hear from me again!”
He scoffed and you swore you could feel him roll his eyes, “Can you stop being so dramatic?”
You ignored him the rest of the way back to your parents house. Eventually he stopped trying to get your attention, the only indication of his being behind you was the sound of gravel crunching beneath his boots.
Instead of paying him any mind you brainstormed of non life threatening illnesses you could quickly expose yourself to so you had a perfectly reasonable excuse to be a horrible friend to Wanda and miss her and Bucky’s wedding. The answer was none.
After what felt like hours and many blisters later, you and Druig eventually made it back to your childhood home. Much to your surprise though, a familiar car was in the driveway. “Pietro?”
Before you got halfway up the driveway a blur of silver hair came out of nowhere and picked you up into a tight bear hug, almost tackling you to the ground. “Yn, I’ve missed you so much! How did your date with Druig go? I didn’t think I’d get to see you until later.”
“My what?” You pulled yourself out of his grasp. “Is that what he told you it was?”
“No?” He admitted, obviously confused. “I just figured you both decided to stop being stubborn and were ready to admit your feelings for eachother.”
“I did.” Druig said proudly, “I think it’s physically impossible for her to stop being stubborn though, probably would combust or something.”
“That sounds more thrilling than being here right now.”
“Told you.”
Before you could get another smart ass word in, Yelena had finally come outside. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing,” you lied, “I was too afraid to get back on Druig’s bike so we walked back. He was just saying goodbye.” You walked into the house and went straight to your room, ignoring the worried questions of your parents. You got to your window in time to see the guys back out of your driveway, probably on their way to Druig’s bike.
You were worried Yelena would have a hundred questions about what had happened, but that was silly. She knew how to work through your issues when you couldn’t. When Yelena found you in your room she came with the only thing that could stand a chance at putting you in a better mood (no matter the season), hot chocolate.
“You don’t have to talk about it,” she reminded you, handing you one of the mugs she held, “but Pietro filled me in on some things that have happened since you left. He said he’ll come back later if you want.”
“Yes,” you grumbled, “but not if he wants to talk about him.”
“I’ll let him know.”
While you waited for Pietro, and dinner, you listened to Yelena as she told you about her day. As she spoke about all that Pietro had shown her, you noticed how much she really liked him. You had never heard someone talk so highly of Pietro. Hell, you have never heard Yelena talk highly of anyone, ever. She didn’t outright say it, and you didn’t dare bring it up, but you could tell it was going to be really hard for her to leave.
As much as you hated to admit it, so obviously you planned to take it to the grave, you were going to too.
It was that one thought that you let slip through the cracks that caused a mental avalanche. Flashes of you afternoon with Druig, all of the hurtful things he said and did when you were younger, him following you home, remembering you still have two more days with him, thoughts of what things could be like if you stayed…
Yelena never noticed how zoned out you got, but Pietro did.
He stood in the doorway, taking both of you off guard. “You’ve both been so lost in your own worlds, neither of you noticed me standing here for five minutes.”
“You’re an adult,” you stood up to take the boxes of pizza out of his hands, “you could have said something.”
“I figured one of you would have noticed the smell of pizza.”
Yelena opened the first box and looked disgusted, “Because this isn’t pizza. It’s buffalo chicken on pizza dough.”
“Ah but you said pizza dough, so you admit by default it's a pizza.” He replied to her in the flirtiest manner you had ever seen. He was absolutely smitten with her as well.
“You better have gotten something we like too.” You added for no other reason than to remind them you were still there.
The rest of the night flew by too quickly. After dinner the three of you went to the backyard, it was too nice not to enjoy it. The apartment you shared with Yelena didn’t have a yard of any kind, but at least it had a decent sized patio balcony. But even then your neighbors got really weird if you and, or Yelena were out there too late. Not weird like leaving passive aggressive notes on your front door or anything, you almost wished they did, but instead they would lean over the wall that separated you and would insert themselves in the middle of whatever you were doing.
That wasn’t something you weren’t used to though. Even though the distance between your childhood home and the neighbors was pretty spacious, that didn’t stop your friends from just showing up in your backyard. It didn’t matter if you were home or not, it never bothered you.
It only bothered you when it stopped.
“I miss this place.” You whispered. You didn’t even realize you said it outloud until Pietro asked you to repeat yourself.
“I said there’s too much space.”
“That’s not what you said.” He accused, the gears clearly turning in his head. “What would it take to get you back here?”
You didn’t quite know what the right answer was, so you just said the only thing you knew for sure. “If Yelena isn’t a stone’s throw away from me then I might die. Do you want me to die, Pietro?”
“If that’s the case,” Yelena quickly added, “our lease is up soon. I wouldn’t mind moving here with you, I like it here.”
“You like a guy here, that’s not the same thing.”
“Don’t pretend that that’s not the same reason why you do and don’t want to move back.”
“Yele-”
“No,” she cut you off, “someone had to say it to you. Pietro said you liked him and I didn’t believe him until yesterday and again today. The way you talked about him I truly believed you hated him, but the way you look at him.. The way he looks at you! The way you talk to each other, even. Your parents even see it! He took you on a date, he quite literally told you he loves you! What’s holding you back?”
“It just feels like another set up!” You blurted out. “I feel like the second I admit how I feel, Druig and his friends are going to all come out of nowhere like we’re on an episode of Punk’d or something.”
“You couldn’t,” Pietro laughed out so hard he had to fight to catch his breath, “ahh, you’re hilarious.”
That didn’t do anything but annoy you. “Can you stop laughing at me and find your words?”
“I’m sorry,” he took a deep breath and wiped the tears from his eyes, “it’s just that you couldn’t be more wrong. Druig hasn’t hung out with that crown since we graduated, he only hangs out with me, Wanda, Bucky, and the guys at the shop. And your parents sometimes.”
“My parents?” They never mentioned him.
“We all do, we basically grew up in your backyard. They’ve always been like second parents to us. One more thing,” he moved from his seat to sit directly in front of you, “if he ever sets you up to look or feel stupid again, I’ll knock his teeth out.”
“Only if you beat me to it.” Yelena stood up, ready to defend your honor then and there.
Pietro stood again from his seat, sizing her up. “Is that a challenge?”
“Ew stop flirting in front of me,” you stood up too and told them you’d be leaving, “I got to go to Wanda’s to try on my dress. I’ll think about what you said on the way there, you two have fun and if I don’t see either of you before your mini road trip, please be safe!”
When you got to Wanda’s house it was slightly after 9pm and thankfully it was just her and Bucky. He seemed really nice, you understood almost immediately how Wanda had fallen in love so quickly. There was something about the way they were just so genuine with each other, you had never seen Wanda so happy with someone. You were so distracted by them that you almost forgot why you were there, the dress.
It was a floor length lavender dress with a short flutter sleeve, thankfully it wasn’t anything crazy. Somehow Wanda did indeed get the perfect fit. You hung it back in her closet for Saturday and went back into the living room so spend more time with the happy couple.
Throughout the night Bucky kept mentioning how he wished there was more time to get to know you better and how Wanda was so excited you were there. Neither one of them mentioned Druig. There was no way they didn’t know what happened earlier, and you’d be surprised if Pietro didn’t call Wanda the moment you left. Whatever they wanted to talk about, they weren’t going to initiate it. At least, not out right.
“You’ve never been so quiet.” Wanda stated. “Do you want to talk about something?”
“I can step out if you need some privacy.” Bucky added.
“No,” you told the both of them, “when I’m done processing I’ll let you know.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
~~
When you got to Wanda’s the next day neither her or Bucky were there like you hoped they’d be. It was just going to be you and Druig, who was already in the backyard, and you desperately wished Yelena would have taken pity on you and not go with Pietro. But you swore to her at least ten times the night before that she was fine and you could handle it.
You were wrong.
The tension could have been cut with a knife. You both tried to stay away from each other if you could, but when you couldn’t things were tense. It was obvious that he wanted to say something, he only spoke to you when it was necessary though.
After he would put a table in its designated spot you would go behind him and place the chairs. Since it was a small backyard wedding, the couple decided against the traditional seating for the ceremony and just have everyone sit at their designated table instead. Their backyard was big enough so no matter what it wouldn’t be too crowded.
When he was done you expected him to start the next project, but when you went to grab more chairs he was already bringing more your way. “You don’t have to help me.”
“But I want to.” You wanted to tell him that he can’t always get what he wants but you opted to just let him do what he wanted.
When that was done two men started to bring back the pieces to the arch and put it together. The flowers were going to be delivered the next morning, so once you knew it was correctly assembled you snuck inside for a moment to yourself before the next project.
All of the silence gave you time to actually think and process all that had come to light, and the longer you thought about it and really thought about what Pietro had said you knew you had to make a decision.
There was no real point in going back home other than to get your things, the lease would be up in just over a month. You and Yelena were going to renew it when you got back but you had no obligation to do that. There was no doubt that your parents would let the both of you stay with them until you found a house close by. That was if Yelena didn’t move in with Pietro, which you would absolutely love and support.
You and Yelena had talked about it some when you got back the night before, she told you that she didn’t expect to want to stay but she did. Admitting that you felt the same way was like admitting defeat at the end of the night you both agreed to think about it and talk about it again after the wedding.
If someone were to have told you the week before that you’d be back in your hometown, hanging out with Druig, thinking about moving back - you would have suggested they seek professional help. You never would have guessed that you’d be standing in the middle of Wanda and her future husband’s kitchen thinking about what to do about the Druig of it all.
“Hey,” he walked into the kitchen as if your thoughts of him summoned him there, “we just have to hang the lights around the trees and the arch. Did you want to take a break and order lunch?”
“Yeah that’s fine, get me whatever you’re getting. I’ve got cash.”
“Pizza good? And don’t worry about it, it’s a ‘thank you’ from the happy couple for all our hard work.” He pulled out his phone and put in the order. The two of you weren’t standing too close, but it felt like he was the center of gravity and was trying to pull you in. When he was done and walked out of the kitchen to the living room you followed, your younger self would have been disgusted.
Everything became too much at once, so many decisions were unofficially made at once and the only one you didn’t have a solution to was less than five feet away from you. Even though you knew how he felt and what he wanted, you didn’t know how to say out loud that you felt the same. It wasn’t even something you admitted out loud to your therapist.
“I’ve decided I’m moving back.” You tried to stop yourself, you really did, but the awkward silence was getting out of hand.
He looked at you like you had three heads, “What? When?”
You knew what he really wanted to ask. “Probably in a month. I haven’t told anyone yet, I just decided about 15 minutes ago honestly.”
“Is Yelena moving too? Aren’t you two a packaged deal?” He leaned back in his seat, probably didn’t want to seem too eager or show how excited he was about your decision.
“Yes, well, kind of. She wants to move here too but I think her plans include Pietro more than they do me, which I’m totally fine with.” And you were, you wouldn’t have ever entertained the thought of moving anywhere if your best friend wasn’t going with you. Her having someone that makes her happy was more than worth it.
He smirked at your answer. “So Wanda and Bucky are getting married, Yelena and Pietro are going to be in a honeymoon phase of their own.. Where does that leave us?”
You knew he was going to bring it up eventually, you just hoped he would have waited until you unpacked your belongings first. “Why would there be an ‘us’?”
“We could be friends, we could be more, or we can just go back to ignoring each other. I just want to know so I can respect your boundaries.” He almost sounded sad, it surprised you how much it made your heart ache.
That made you want to talk out everything then and there, but fate had other plans. The doorbell rang and Druig stood up to go get the food. After he got back and you were done eating you had no idea how to bring up the subject again. You convinced yourself that it was fine, that talking it over with Wanda and Yelena first would help you sort your thoughts.
The rest of the decorating went pretty quickly, some of the things had to be done the next day so you volunteered to get up early and do those since you’d be spending the night at Wanda’s anyway.
Since the guest list was so small, Wanda and Bucky decided to pick one friend each to be their maid of honor and best man. Neither of them wanted to do anything crazy for their bachelor/ bachelorette parties either. Bucky and Druig were going to spend the night at Pietro’s doing whatever Bucky decided he wanted to do, and you and Yelena were staying with Wanda to have a spa/ movie night.
It was there, while the three of you were applying your mud masks, that you told them your decision. “So unless Druig opened his mouth and told you before I got to, I’m-”
“Finally dating Druig?!” Wanda interrupted, a little too excited.
“Ugh you too?” You threw yourself backwards on her living room floor. “No, I wanted to be the first to tell you and Yelena and I are moving back here next month.”
“WHAT?” She jumped from her stop on the couch and onto you. “This is the best wedding present ever! I can’t believe you’re coming back.”
“You’re crushing me, get off.” You laughed half seriously.
She got off of you and went to hug Yelena, “I’m so excited for us to spend more time together.”
“Me too.” Yelena smiled. You once worried about the possibility of them not getting along, so you were overjoyed that they had a bond separate from you.
The later it got and the more wine you drank, you felt more comfortable talking about the subject everyone (even your parents) wanted you to talk about: Druig.
“Are you going to date him?”
“Are you going to take it slow?”
“Is he a good kisser?”
“Does this mean we can do couples vacations now?”
“I bet you two are going to be the couple that is just obsessed with each other, but in a cute way.”
“Can you two let me decide my feelings first before you plan my wedding?” You didn’t even blame them for their questions and comments, there was a part of you that wanted to fully let loose and talk about how you’ve had a crush on him for as long as you could remember, but there was also a part of you that didn’t want to celebrate too soon.
“Decide??” Wanda emphasized dramatically, “Are you going to look at me in my face and pretend you’re not in love with him?”
Yelena was right behind her. “And he’s even told me he’s in love with you, too. So why aren’t you two together yet?”
“Because…”
“OH! I have an idea!” Wanda yelled and ran to her bedroom. When she came back she had your phone in her hand with Druig’s contact information open. “Call him and tell him how you feel.”
“No, this night is supposed to be about you. You call Bucky and gush to him about how much you love him.” She rolled her eyes at your comment and looked for Yelena to back her up.
To your surprise she actually backed you up. Well, technically. “No, Pietro sent a voice memo earlier and they’re all very drunk. A text might work though.”
“Or, and really hear me when I say this,” you suggested after finishing off another bottle, “I could just wait until after the wedding. That way you and Bucky can have your day and I can procrastinate this a little longer.”
“Ugh, fine. I’ve just been waiting for this since high school, seeing two of my best friends happy. Not pretending they hate each other anymore. I’m just so happy for you.” Wanda was drunk but you knew she meant every word she said.
For years she was in the middle of you and his hostility, even though you did everything you could so that she didn’t have to. You never badmouthed him to her, or even Pietro, but you knew they weren’t unaware it was happening. They knew it was something they couldn’t fix, but at the end of the day you were their friend and seeing you hurt, hurt them.
“No Wands, I’m happy for you.” With that, the three of you called it a night. The morning would be there before you knew it.
~~
You woke up before anyone else and decided it was your job as maid of honor to make sure Wanda was taken care of until it was officially Bucky’s duty. There was no way you would be able to do that without caffeine so you pulled out your phone and ordered coffee and breakfast for the three of you before the flowers were scheduled to be delivered.
Yelena was the next to wake up. The two of you sat on the porch and talked about your plans for the move before Wanda woke up.
“So were you thinking about moving in with Pietro?” You got straight to the point, just like she had with you.
She looked at you in disbelief. “We just made things official, I need at least a year to get used to being so close to him before I think about that. You know how I am. Besides, I’m not ready for us to not be roommates yet. That’s too much change at once.”
You jokingly threw your head back and laughed, “Oh thank god, I feel the same way! About wanting to still be roommates and too much change. I feel like I’m going to make a mistake somehow.”
“Me too. But this feels like a step in a positive direction.” She put her hand in yours. “We’ve outgrown our apartment.”
“Yes, so naturally the next move is my parents house. I love that for us.” You said sarcastically.
That snapped her back to reality. “We’re looking for a place the minute we get on the train. I love your parents but I can’t be a recluse there, I need that time to myself or I’ll go insane.”
“Oh you don’t have to tell me twice, I fell asleep looking at places last night.”
The front door opened and a sleepy Wanda walked out, “Did anyone make coffee?”
“No,” you laughed at how well you knew her, “but in one minute a delivery driver will be here with some.”
She sat on the other side of you and rested her head on your shoulder, “You’re the best.”
Just like you predicted, a car had pulled up and a delivery boy stepped out with your breakfast. You nudged Wanda’s head with the shoulder she was leaning on so you could get up, “I know.”
From there the morning got unexpectedly chaotic. The flowers got delivered thirty minutes late and the person who was supposed to help you arrange them had apparently called out, so you spent longer than planned getting them all in their proper arrangements on each table and around the arch.
Time wise everything seemed to work itself out in the end. Wanda and Yelena were showered by the time you were done, but only just, meaning you would have been waiting for your turn anyways. To your surprise there was just enough hot water left for you to get through the shower, it only got cold at the very end.
When you stepped out of the bathroom you were faced with a new set of problems. Wanda’s blow dryer broke when she was almost done, leaving you and Yelena with wet hair and the risk of frizz.
“Let me make a call, y’all just start on make up.” You excused yourself and called the first person you thought of. “Druig?”
“Good afternoon, sunshine. I didn’t expect to hear from you so soon.”
You got so distracted with his flirting you almost forgot why you called. “I need a favor, are you busy?”
“I could never be too busy for you.”
You knew he could tell you were smiling by the sound of your voice. “Can you go over to my house and get my hair dryer? Wanda’s broke?”
“I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”
You thanked him and walked back to the guest bedroom to find more appropriate clothes. The last thing you needed was for him to see you in a towel, he would have found a way to bring it up the rest of the day.
When you went to check on Wanda and Yelena things finally seemed to be going smoothly. Yelena had never worn much makeup so she finished up pretty quickly. Wanda’s makeup style always depended on the occasion, and for her wedding she went for more of a non-makeup look. Her foundation was light and dewy while her eyes had a natural look to them. You had just got done helping her apply a set of very subtle eyelashes when you heard a knock at the door. “Be right back, y’all figure out what you’re doing with your hair.”
The walk to Wanda’s front door felt like it took ages to get to and once you got there you had to work up the courage to open it, but eventually you found it. “Hey, thank you again. I owe you one.”
“It’s no big deal.” He handed you the blow dryer and you ran it to the girls before joining him back on the porch. “Shouldn’t you be joining them?”
“They can wait.” You purposely stood a little too close to him, but not close enough for his gravity to pull you in again. Not fully at least. “I need to tell you something.”
It took all of his restraint not to close the gap between you. “You can tell me anything.”
“I’m sorry about the other day, I was feeling a lot of things at once and I reacted badly.”
That wasn’t what he was expecting you to say but he appreciated it all the same. “No, that was my bad, I threw too much at you at once.”
“No, it was beautiful, really.” You reassured him, “I’ve got to go, but meet me here after the ceremony, okay? There’s something else we need to talk about.”
He agreed, but before he left you both took a half step forward. You leaned your head in quicker than he did and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He smiled his signature half smile and walked back to his bike, “That just told me all I needed to know, darling. I’ll see you soon.”
You smiled and went back inside before Wanda and Yelena got curious, the last thing you needed was to get thrown off schedule right as you had caught up.
When you walked back in, Wanda was curling her hair while Yelena was almost done blow drying hers. They were so caught up in the excitement that they never questioned who had dropped the blow dryer off and why you took a few minutes to come back in, not that you had a problem with that at all.
You had just finished your hair and make up when the caterers arrived, thankfully all you had to do was unlock the door. There was still an hour before the ceremony was scheduled to begin and even though Wanda’s dress wasn’t anything super extravagant, it had probably about one hundred buttons in the back and it took you a little longer than you anticipated. Yelena had taken pity on you and helped you out, giving you just enough time to get dressed before guests and the guys arrived.
“Alright, Pietro texted they should be here in two minutes. I’m going to make sure Bucky stays out back. You,” you pointed to Wanda, “stay away from the kitchen windows, I won’t have him sneaking a peek.”
“Aye, aye captain.” Her smile was so wide, she was barely able to contain her excitement.
Everything after that was a blur.
The guys ended up arriving before the guests. You supervised Druig and Bucky while they showed everyone to their seats and Pietro joined Yelena in making sure Wanda didn’t get impatient. At least that’s the reason he gave, you were sure he selfishly (yet understandably) wanted to be close to Yelena. Druig tried doing the same with you a few times but you kept finding opportunities to slip away before he got too close, not for any reason other than to watch him get worked up.
When it was time for Wanda to walk down the aisle everyone was in their designated seats, leaving you, Druig, Bucky and his other best friend Steve at the altar. You didn’t get a chance to talk to Steve much but according to Bucky they were basically brothers and he couldn’t imagine anyone else officiating his and Wanda’s wedding.
The vows were short and sweet but they still managed to leave everyone in tears, they had nothing but love and fondness for each other and everyone felt it. When Wanda talked about falling in love with Bucky, you felt a pair of eyes on you. You tried to keep your attention on her, but Druig’s orbit had pulled you in again. In what felt like no time at all, Steve had declared them Mr. and Mrs. Barnes and instructed them to kiss.
You and Druig followed their lead as they walked back up the aisle and into the house. The plan was for the wedding party to get their food and drinks and join everyone else back outside, Wanda wanted to wait to take pictures during the golden hour before sunset. It had always been her favorite time of day so you weren’t surprised.
“Hey,” you pulled her to the living room, “is it okay if me and Druig step out front for a few minutes?”
She practically shoved you out of the door. “Finally! I don’t care, as long as you're back for pictures.”
When it was just you and him again you felt nervous, like you weren’t in the same situation with him just hours before.
“So,” he started, “what did you want to talk about?”
He stood so close you almost forgot what you wanted to say.
“Us.” It came out as a whisper.
“Oh so there is an ‘us’?” He brought his face closer to yours, his voice lower than it was before, “Do tell me sweetheart, does this mean you won’t run away after I kiss you?”
“I guess there’s only one way to find out.”
He didn’t take the bait, which you were secretly thankful for. If he did, you two probably would have missed the rest of the party, and even if Wanda and Bucky would have understood you would have never forgiven yourself. “We can save that for later, we only have about ten minutes before we need to get back.”
You tried to suppress a laugh and failed, “You’re such an ass, you just want to hear me talk.”
“I do love hearing your voice.” He admitted.
“Stop flirting!” You gently pushed him back so you could focus better, “I know this is technically new, we haven’t even had a proper conversation about us yet but I’ve known how I’ve felt about you for my whole life. I hate that we spent so many years at each other’s necks and I’m sorry the only way for me to cope was leaving. I know moving back won’t make up for the years I was gone, but I’m hoping we can make up for lost time now.”
He took a moment to let your words sink in. You didn’t know it then, but he had half expected you to tell him you just wanted to be friends (which he would have been more than okay with). So when you all but told him you love him, he wasn’t sure if he was dreaming or not.
“When do you move back?”
You weren’t expecting him to ask that, but answered him anyway. “We have about a month to get all of our things out, so I guess it depends on how fast we pack. Why?”
He grabbed your hands and pulled you into his chest, “Me and Pietro were talking about flying out to help you and Yelena pack, wanted to see if that would be okay with you first.”
“What?” You smiled at him, “Can’t go a few weeks without me?”
“I just got you back, I’ll go mad missing you.” You wanted to kick yourself for thinking his feelings weren’t genuine.
“Would you judge me for feeling the same?”
“Never.” He leaned in to seal the deal with a kiss, and you would have let him if Pietro hadn’t barreled through the door.
“I know you two are having a moment and I hate to be the one to kill it, I really do, but we can’t wait anymore.”
“Right behind you.” You and Druig walked behind him, hand in hand, to the back yard.
The rest of the night was perfect. You got to witness one of your best friends marry the love of her life, and as an added bonus you got to watch the beginning of Yelena and Pietro’s love story.
Your parents were over the moon when you told them about you moving back, but that was nothing compared to the news about you and Druig. As it so happened, they had been planning your wedding with him since you were kids. Yelena took one for the team and asked them about temporary living arrangements.
Druig took the opportunity to talk to you alone one last time before the night had to end. “You’re not going to get on that train and never talk to me again are you?”
He was mostly kidding but you could tell a part of him meant it. “Not this time, you can get up early and take the journey with me just to make sure if you want.”
“Don’t tempt me.” He held you close, anyone who paid attention would have thought you were swaying with the music. “I’m really glad this weekend turned out the way it did.”
“I am too.” You knew then that you were finally whole again. Everyone you had ever loved were going to be in the same place. The same place that broke your heart and it was put back together again. It felt like the universe gave you a second chance to have the life you always wanted and nothing, not even yourself, was going to get in the way of it happening.

I think where I've landed on my Wanda Maximoff journey is that if she had done what Druig did, I honestly would have liked her more. (This is in reference to the common fan argument that liking Druig and not Wanda is unfair because they did the same thing.) Like, if Wanda, with the same backstory she already had, with all the same prior MCU appearances, started off Wandavision maintaining a community of people she kidnapped with mind control, and she was focused on keeping their lives peaceful and isolated, and they spent most of their time not being directly controlled by her, etc., I would have been able to get on board with that. I know that, because I was fairly on board with her for the first couple of episodes of the show, and that was after years of disliking the character (for both fair and unfair reasons).
The thing I hated wasn't the kidnapping itself; it was the fact that she kidnapped them with the purpose of using them as dolls in the background of her domestic fantasy and completely disregarding their well-being whenever it didn't factor into her game. It was the fact that it felt no different from what she did in Age of Ultron, when she set the Hulk on a civilian town of black people and largely disregarded the danger she was causing them. I gravitate toward characters who care about people ("people" as a general term, not "people" as in their particular friends) and I never felt that there was more evidence that Wanda did care about people than that she didn't.
Sorry, I just had to analyze this again, because usually I love female characters who start cults. It's actually kind of my jam. (Cults are bad in real life; I'm talking about in fiction.)

Puppy Dog
Summary: You’ve been in love with Druig since you came to Earth but he wants nothing to do with you. Maybe you can still be friends or maybe not.
Content Warning: Near death experiences, arguing, unrequited love, (Druig is an asshole in this)
Word Count: 6.5 K
When you first saw Druig you knew you’d want to know everything about him. He was gorgeous and before he even had the chance to speak you knew he’d be your reckoning. It wasn't long before you all had a routine on the charming little planet of Earth. The people, the food, the music, all of it was beautiful and filled you with such a sense of wonder and joy. If the stoic telepath had any love for the ball of rock he didn't show it; he merely watched from behind pillars and listened to chatter from the outskirts of gatherings.
Of course he wasn't too serious. On some occasions you would catch him joking with the stable boys or mingling with the women washing their clothes by the river; something that made you more jealous than you would like to admit. But it was refreshing to see him smile.
Your power is the ability to manipulate thermal energy, to put it simply it means that you could freeze a person to death while they were standing in a bonfire or keep an entire family warm during snowstorm (something you had to do couple times). You thought that everyone had incredible gifts but it had always been Druig that amazed you. Even though his power wasn’t flashy or grand, it was captivating nonetheless. The ability to control minds is impressive if not intimidating, there are moments where you wondered what he’d do if he could use them on you. That’s not to say that you’re scared of him, but you couldn’t deny that the hairs on the back of your neck stood whenever you watched him in battle. He was dangerous and scary and occasionally rude, yet here you letting him take up most of your daydreams.
You’d destroy the Sun just to have Druig look at you the same way he did at Makkari. The two of them have been on and off for forever but you never felt animosity towards her. In fact, you were almost happy that she was able to make him smile; for whenever you’d try to strike up conversation with him it was the complete opposite. There was something that he just didn’t like about you and even though you’d do anything for him to just be content with your presence, you didn’t see that happening anytime soon.
And you would have to be okay with that.
—————————-
607 B.C.
The Sun had just begun setting over the desert horizon when Phastos had sent you over to the local blacksmiths with some molds as well as some prints that they could use for farming. He was always sending you into town with new ideas that would help the community progress and you didn’t mind it; meeting with the people of Earth and learning along with them was one of your favorite things about being an Eternal. A warm and comforting breeze swept through the small Southwest Asian village and you could hear the faint noise of men laughing. As you neared the house you began to sense the people within the building. You could feel three heat signatures: a large man that was probably in his mid-thirties, a younger man in his twenties, and...Druig.
Your palms grew sweaty at the thought of talking to him. Of course the two of you had conversed before but it seemed like he wanted nothing to do with you. When the Eternals first began their mission on Earth you had tried befriending him (perhaps a little too hard); and maybe it was the fact that you we’re always surprising him. Whether it be with small gifts or even just your presence, you remember him being less than happy to see you. But the question remained: what did you do? For the longest time you had lead yourself to believe that it was because you weren’t gorgeous or that you were gross or some other superficial thing that someone like Druig would think up.
—————————-
Two hours earlier (Flashback)
"I just don't get it. I've literally tried everything just to get somewhat of a bond with him and he hates my guts!" You and Sprite were both laying on her bed in the Domo after fighting off Deviants in North America. You were positioned near the top and she was spread along the bottom, both looking at the intricate details that decorated the ceiling. "I bring him gifts, he gives them back. I compliment him after a battle, he ignores me. What do I have to do to get him to not completely detest me?" You groaned.
Sprite turned her head to glance up at you , clearly not thinking too hard with a slight smile on her face. "It sounds like you like him"
You sprung up at the accusation. "What! I can't like someone who looks at me like a bug under their show, Sprite. And news flash: Druig's an asshole. Plus if I did like him, I would never do that to Makkari even if they’re not “technically” dating; she’s too good a friend and far too kind for anything along that nature to happen. But doesn’t mean that I want Druig to absolutely hate me!”
She giggled at your antics before laying back down, looking at the ceiling. "Well if you want an honest answer why don’t you just ask him?"
You rolled your eyes at the thought of talking to Druig. “I can’t just go up to him and ask. He’ll say something snarky or just flat out ignore me like he always does.”
Sprite raised an eyebrow at you. “Y/N if you want an answer I don’t know who better to go to. Get some balls and ask the guy!”
“What if it’s something terrible?...”
“Ask.”
“...Or something that I can’t fix...”
“Ask!”
“...what if he absolutely hates my guts and want nothing to do with me for all of eternity!” You flopped back onto your back with a sigh of frustration
“Y/N,” She said sitting up. “you can ask and finally know or you could wait another thousand years. But in the end it’s up to you. I’m not going to tell you what to do but I hate seeing you this way”.
—————————-
Pushing open the blacksmith's door you removed your hood and made your way over to the workbench.
"Ah, Y/N! What does Phastos gift us with this time?" The head blacksmith, Andreas, asked. His face had pink hue due to the heat inside the shop and his long curly black beard was peppered with white ash. He was wearing a while linen cloth with a blood red robe thrown on top. The sleeves and edges of the robe were frayed, worn from the years of wear. His working apron was sitting on the chair across the room where Druig and Omar (Andreas’s apprentice) were sitting.
"Farming tools! From what I understood — and you know how Phastos is — there should be some things here for land managing and some other stuff for better irrigation, but it's hard to tell since I’m not to familiar on how to read prints all that well; if you have trouble with these molds I'll just pry Phastos from his workstation and bring him down here."
You set down the molds and blueprints then took off your cloak. Underneath you wore a fine emerald green garment that cuffed around your ankles and wrists. It was decorated with beautiful gold beads. The one-piece was a gift from a noble family in the last village you visited.
"We were just about to eat." Omar said as he uncovered a large bowl on the back table. "Eleni brought us stew a few minutes ago. You’re invited to join us if you'd lik —."
“I’m sure she’s busy enough as it is," Druig interrupted, a false sense of innocence in his voice. "No sense in wasting time here with us when she could be doing much more productive things. Isn’t that right Y/N?"
“Well what are you up to, eh? I’m sure I could help.” You spoke back with a weak attempt of staying cheerful. Even if he hated your guts you were going to try your best to be pleasant even though you felt your heart squeeze every time he glared at you.
“I’m not sure you could, I doubt you’d be any good at it” He quipped.
“I bet I can manage. Plus I don’t see you digging a well or saving a village,” You spoke with a bit of edge. “You know, productive things?”
He motioned to the various sketches and designs on the table in front of him.“Actually I’ve been helping these two with some new armor improvements. You’re more than welcome to stay,” He sneered. “but as you said you’re not too familiar on how to read prints”.
You felt your face heat up as embarrassment swept over you. "You know what? It’s fine. I just ate anyways," You said turning to Omar. "so thank you for the offer, but perhaps we can meet up another time, hm?”
Before Omar could even reply you started making your way back to the workbench to retrieve your cloak and headed out the door.
———————————-
As you laid in bed you thought of how much it stung to have the one person you had heart-eyes for hate you with such a passion. He had no right to be so rude and crass with you, especially when all you’ve wanted since you’ve known him was companionship.
knock-knock
“Come in!” You beckoned to the visitor.
The door to your room opened as Makkari made her way into your space. She was in her lounge clothes and greeted you with a soft smile.
“Hey what’s up?” You questioned. It wasn’t like you and Makkari didn’t get along, you just didn’t hangout often.
“I was just wondering how you were feeling. I saw you kind of stomp in and figured you might want a friend”.
You weren’t exactly sure what to sign. Of course you didn’t wanna lie to her, but how do you tell your friend that you’ve been in love with her on-again-off-again boyfriend for over a millennium?
“I got into a little argument with someone down in the village, nothing major.” You felt a little guilty for not telling her the whole story, but it was still technically true, right?
“Let me guess it was Druig, again?” She rolled her eyes at the thought of him.
You eyes widened when she signed his name. “How’d you know?”
“He’s the only person who makes you this upset; it makes sense since he’s also the only person who seems to fight with you.” She put her hand on your shoulder before sitting down next to you on your bed.
“Um yeah he kind of told me to buzz off earli— why does he hate me?” You asked exasperated.
Stunned by the switch of conversation Makkari took a deep breath. “I don’t know if he hates you. Maybe you should ask him” She shrugged .
“Yeah that’s what Sprite said.” You signed.
“Two against one. Just get it over with Y/N! It might make you feel better once you receive, I don’t know... closure? Maybe if you both just air out what needs to be said, you can get along”
“I know, I just thought putting it off would be okay,” You cringed at the thought of earlier as confrontation. “but it’s creating more of an issue.” You pouted.
She gave a shoulder a squeeze before leaving your room and shutting the door.
“Thanks, Makkari”
—————————-
You sat in the kitchen. You had eaten hours ago and only the evidence of the curry that you made earlier was a dirty bowl in the sink. Just as you were about to call it a night you heard the faint noise of footsteps. As you looked up from the table you saw exactly who you were dreading, Druig.
He looked as glorious as the first time you saw him. He was glossy from the sweat and grime of working with the blacksmiths. He wore a beige cloth draped across his waist with a loose robe sitting low on his shoulders. There was something about how he walked and a sort of glare that danced along his eyes that conveyed he was irritated and if you hadn’t been sitting there for hours on end maybe you would’ve waited to have this conversation, but you couldn’t back down now.
“You’re still up I see” Your voice was rough from not talking for awhile. Looking up you waited for his response.
Nothing.
“So how did the rest of the night go with Andreas and Omar? Any progress with the new armor?” You asked as he grabbed a clay mug from the cabinet. You we’re pressing and you knew it. Whenever he’d ignore you, you’d usually just drop it. But not tonight. Tonight you were going to get him to open up whatever thoughts he was having about you whether he liked it or not.
“Druig...” Nothing, again. He reached into the pantry and fetched a jar of tea, but you weren’t going to let him get away. “Hey! I’m talking to you.” You huffed. At this point you were getting impatient.
As he turned to take the mug and tea back to his room you decided to do something you’ve never intentionally done before: touch him.
Placing a firm grip on his shoulder, you stopped him in his tracks. “I don’t know why you think you can treat me like shit but I’m stopping it,” You paused, unsure of how he was feeling. “now.”
He turned his head back towards the hand on his shoulder. Glancing from the shoulder to your eyes, you felt yourself recoil at the connection. Never in your life had he been this close, this...intimate. You could see his thoughts turning behind his eyes but you couldn’t tell what exactly he was feeling. His glare was now hardest on you, his mouth controlling into a disgusted snarl.
Shifting his stance he placed both the mug and jar in the crook of his left arm and used his right to remove you from his shoulder. “You want to know why, Y/N?” He tilted his head as he questioned you, irritation evident on his face. “It’s because you” He dug his finger into your chest. “follow me around like a puppy dog, giving me gifts and compliments just hoping— wishing— for a lick of attention. You don’t think I notice it? Well I do. I’m obviously not into you Y/N and you’re going to have to get over it. Just cause Makkari and I aren’t a thing right now doesn’t mean I wanna settle for someone like you. So leave. Me. Alone”.
He brought himself back up from his looming stance over you before taking a deep breath and turning back towards his room.
You stood there frozen for awhile. The feeling of utter dread and rejection flooded through you and before you knew it tears started to prick out of the corners of your eyes. Fearing that someone would see you at your weakest you ran to your room where you would undoubtedly cry yourself to sleep.
—————————-
You had thought long and hard about what Druig had said last night. Currently, you were in your room. You we’re wearing a soft loose tank top (or the equivalent of this time) with an earthy floor length cotton skirt. The sunlight of the early morning trickled it’s way through your windows and onto the bed where you were laying.
‘Just cause Makkari and I aren’t a thing right now doesn’t mean I wanna settle for someone like you’. You winced at the fresh memory. Even though you were indisputably in love with Druig, you valued your friendship with Makkari too much to move in on her ex right after a break up. Even though they would routinely break up and get back together just about every other year, you’d wait until they were both sure on how they felt before even thinking of pursuing the telepath. Of course you would love to not have to go after anyone’s ex, but as everyone in the group knows by now: it comes with the price of being an immortal being in a mortal world.
The sound of your stomach growling took you from your thoughts as you made your way to the kitchen (otherwise known the crime scene where your heart was massacred last night). As you entered the kitchen you were met with a bed-headed Kingo. He was eating a piece of toasted bread glazed with butter made from some of the bakers of the last village we were in.
“Morning,” You said softly. “looks like you slept pretty well”.
“Not even close.” He said with a groan. Stretching his arms over his head he tried to shake himself awake. “Our royal couple had another fight last night”
“Oh really? Usually Sersi stops by my place after her and Ikaris have their little arguments” You said as you tore a piece of bread from the loaf.
“No, no. I’m talking about Makkari and Druig. She came by my room last night talking about how ‘she’s tired of this whole back and forth thing’ and ‘he thinks that she’s just going to wait and eternity for him’ . Just a whole bunch of angsty couple stuff, you know the deal” He said as he took another bite.
“Not really” You half-chuckled. Maybe that was the reason why Druig was such in a poor mood you thought. You internally cringed and actually felt guilty for cornering him last night.
“But I don’t blame her. How long have they been dating? And how many times have they broken up?” He asked.
“Too many for me to count”
“I care about her too, Y/N. And...I don’t know...it just frustrates me when all she’s telling about is how terrible their relationship is.”
“Well we don’t know how they act all the time” You said. “Of course she’s only going to tell you the bad things about their relationship when she’s venting to you. I don’t think it’s good for you — for us— to get involved in whatever’s going on between them. If they don’t work out then they don’t work out, but we should leave that decision for them, it’s not our place.”
It was almost comedic how you, Kingo, and Sprite worked. You watched him pine over Makkari, Sprite after Ikaris, and in turn they watched you. It was like you all bonded over the fact they you’d never be with the one person in the world that you wanted. It was almost comforting. Almost.
He ran his hand down his face. “You’re right”
“I always am” You joked.
———————————-
Leaving the people who had touched your heart in such a special way was always something that was bittersweet; knowing that you’d never see them again was depressing, but you took refuge in the thought that you were going to help new people \who you’d learn to love.
It had been a pretty easy week despite the interaction with Druig. Most of your downtime was spent helping the locals or learning about their cultural traditions. It’s times like these that made you love your mission. The people of Earth were so special to you and you were happy to watch them grow. Unfortunately, the peace couldn’t last for forever.
Today you were woken up by the sound of screams coming from the town. Quickly dressing yourself and running to the commotion, you were met with your fellow Etrernals who we’re doing the same. “What’s the plan, Ajak?” Gilgamesh asked.
Ajak joined up to your left.“Sprite, Kingo, Druig, and Phastos are working defense. Get as many people to the top that hill.” Looking out to where she had pointed, you noticed that it was just a bit south of the town. “It’ll be easier to fight off Deviants if they’re the ones who have to come up to us.”
Once given their commands, the four split off to round up civilians. You tried to fight the urge to watch as Druig left and even though he couldn’t read your mind, you hope that he knew you were rooting for him. One fight couldn’t erase the unfathomable love you carried in your heart for him.
“Thea, Ikaris, and I are on offense. We’ll clear them out the best we can. There’s going to be some stragglers that we won’t be able to get in time, so Y/N, Makkari, and Sersi clear-out all the deviants on and around the hill; we don’t need them slowing down the other group”
With your commands given, you and your group started running.
———————————-
Atop the hill you and your group had managed to kill a small amount of the deviants present, this was a larger number of them than anticipated but it was nothing that you couldn’t handle. Sweat was dripping down your forehead and your fingers were covered in grime. This was just one of the key principles that you and your fellow Eternals knew: war was dirty.
It was probably twenty minutes since you had last seen the others when you had noticed a small blob coming from the village. Shielding your eyes from the sun you were able to see that it was the defense group with a sizable amount of people among them. Judging the distance, you could guess they were probably a little less than half a mile away. As they continued their pilgrimage to the hill you could make out a 5-9 deviants coming from the village towards the group. You were dowsed in the feeling of fear as you looked from the group to the deviants and back to the group. They weren’t going to be able to defend themselves and the humans without casualties.
Glancing back to Makkari and Sersi, you decided to take it upon yourself to attempt to meet the group halfway in order to alleviate the pressure of deviants on them.
“Sersi I’m going to need you to cover for me, okay?” You said as you dodged a deviants attack.
“I’m on it!” Was all you needed for you to dart across the field to where the group was, and with the downhill slope on your side you were able to get to them in a relatively short time.
“Y/N we need more cover, take the backend of the group with Kingo and Druig while we keep pushing forward”
Using your powers to create a pathway of ice, you skated to the back of the pack where the two Eternals were fighting. Slowly but surely the group progressed further up the hill. “Well what do we owe your presence?” Kingo joked over the commotion.
“To the fact that you’re getting your ass kicked” You yelled with a cocky grin.
You, Kingo, and Druig had fought side-by-side countless time before — just as you had with all the other Eternals — and you found yourselves getting into a familiar groove. First Kingo would blast the deviants in order to distract them while you froze their limbs to the ground. Once frozen in place Druig would be able to cut of their heads with his long sword. Even though you were getting the job done, you felt like there was something different about your dynamic.
Usually there was a sense of fluidity to your fighting pattern. The three of you would almost move in a waltz: blast, freeze, chop, blast, freeze, chop. But Druig (of course it was Druig) was somewhat stiffer than before. You noticed there was hesitation in his movements and it ended up slowing you and Kingo down in the process.
“Hey could you two speed it up? Not really feeling the drag happening right now” Kingo shouted as he blasted another deviant.
“Talk to Y/N! Maybe if she had her head out of the clouds her shots wouldn’t be such shit” Druig snapped.
You were taken aback by the utter disrespect happening, especially on the battlefield. Druig was always rude to you but never in serious moments like these. Fighting together meant that you had to fully trust your teammates and you began to feel yourself sinking further into your insecurities (something you probably shouldn’t be doing in the middle of a fight).
“My shots are just fine, just do your job” You bit back as you froze a deviant to the field.
“Don’t worry Kingo,” Druig continued. “you’ll probably just have to pick up her slack as usual since Ms. Puppy-dog is having another off day” .
Your heart twisted at the reference to your earlier confrontation. Looking out at Kingo you noticed his face had turned sour. “What’s your issue, dude?”
“Nothing” Druig huffed as he swung his sword once more.
“Clearing it’s something since you can’t shut your mouth for a mission” Kingo pressed. You knew he was angry on your behalf, especially since you two were fairly close. You found comfort in the sentiment but it seemed to be taking your collective attention away from the fight.
“It’s fine Kingo, let’s just focus.” You were grasping at straws to keep the peace. As they continued to bicker you felt them grow slower and slower against the attacking deviants.
“No, Y/N. It’s not fine.” Said Kingo. “I’m so tired of him running his mouth and nobody says anything.”
Druig scoffed. “Oh really? You don’t think I know what this is really about? You don’t give a shit how I treat Y/N. No, this is about Makkari.”
“Druig that’s enough” You warned.
Kingo was gradually getting closer to Druig, his eyes filled with more rage than you had ever seen the jokester have.
“That’s where you’re wrong, Druig. I don’t need an ulterior motive to say you’re an asshole.” Kingo said. His figure standing a few inches taller than the telepath.
Turning your attention from them, you noticed that as the argument progressed, your small trio had fallen behind the main group. Looking up ahead you looked to Phastos that was witnessing the bicker. “What’s going on? We have people to save up here!”
Deciding to take matters into your own hands you placed yourself between the two men and gave commands. “Kingo make up our lost ground and blast any deviant coming up behind the main group. Druig, I still need you and that sword so we’re going to continue down here.”
Kingo’s eyes shifted between you and the man in front of him.
“Please” You begged.
With a sigh he turned away from the two of you and started running up the hill.
Getting your mindset back into the fight you started attacking any deviant you could get your hands on with Druig in tow. It was harder now without Kingo but you were making do.
“You and Kingo are perfect for each other” You heard behind you. Druigs voice was serious and was full of resentment.
“I’m not doing this now” You said as you continued the fight.
“I bet you two just sit up all night waiting for Makkari and I to break up, eh? Make it a little club or something? You got Sprite in there too? ‘Cause we all know she’s ready to pounce on Ikar—”
His sentence was cut off by your fist hitting his cheek. “I don’t know what the fuck you think you are, but you are not going to speak about anyone that way” You said. Your blood was pumping more than it had been during the whole fight.
Stunned by your strike, Druig brought his hand to his lip that had split on contact. “You know what,” He shoved you back a few steps “I’m so tired of your shit. I’m tired of you sitting here acting like an innocent lamb. But that’s not true is it? No. Not with you constantly throwing yourself at me. And now you’re telling Kingo to talk shit about me to Makkari?”
“Me?” You said getting incredulously. “I didn’t tell Kingo to do anything. And just cause your girlfriend is starting to realize how much of an asshole you are, doesn’t mean you can treat me like trash”.
Druig let out a laugh before meeting his fist with your left cheek —ultimately knocking the wind out of you. You looked up to see Druig towering over you, his shadow blocking out the sun.
“Don’t you ever talk abo—” Druig’s sentence stopped abruptly. A look of utter horror and shock struck his face as he looked down to his chest.
Lodged just above his stomach was a claw. A deviants to be exact.
He had been impaled.
Suddenly the world had come to a halt. The indescribable sense of rage had left your body and had been replaced with the purest feeling of panic and terror. It had happened almost instantaneously: you’re body ignited and you were no longer a mere instrument of heat — you were on fire. Within a split second you had discovered your newfound power and burned the towering deviant to the ground; reducing it’s body to ash. Everything happened so fast that you still had time to reach out and catch Druig before he fell to the dirt.
“Druig? Druig.” You said as you slapped the side of his face.
His eyes were searching around as if he couldn’t make out exactly what was happening.
“Wh...what’s going on? Y/N, my chest...” His words were drowsy and he motioned to his ribs. “my chest...i-it hurts...”
You looked down to where the deviants claw was still embedded. You wanted to wait until Ajax could heal him before you even thought about removing it, but there was so much blood escaping around it.
Tears began to run down your face as you began to think of the worst. “Druig this is going to hurt but you’re going to be okay.” You used the tip of your finger like a welding gun to seal the gaps around the claw where the blood was escaping. You tried to ignore his grunts and screams but seeing him in pain like this only made you cry harder.
Unbeknownst to you, the defense group was having trouble of its own.
The other Eternals were having trouble with the increasing number of deviants trying to get to the humans. Even with the addition of Kingo, Makkari, and Sersi it wasn’t enough to hold back the blood-thirsty predators, and if they didn’t do something quick people were going to die.
“Where’s Druig and Y/N?” Yelled Sersi.
“They’re further down the hill” Kingo replied bitterly, recalling the argument from earlier.
Sprite huffed. “Well we need their help. Call them up here!
Looking down to where you two were located Phastos couldn’t quite make out what was going on, “Y/N we need you two up here!”
You were too preoccupied to care about what was happening uphill. The only thing on your mind was saving Druigs life and you were going to do that.
“Druig!” Sprite shouted in an attempt to get your collective attention.
As the fighting progressed more and more deviants pounced on the group, now outnumbering the Eternals greatly.
“Y/N!” Sersi begged.
“I can’t!” You cried glancing back down to the telepath, your mind frantic and overwhelmed.
You didn’t know what to do. Do you leave him here to die or go up to help your teammates? There was too much going on and you were frozen in place. You placed your hands over your ears to concentrate on your options. How could you get him up the hill? Was he too injured for you to move him? Where would you put him while you finished the battle? With all of these questions running through your head you didn’t notice how the world began to gradually quiet.
Your attention was taken by the sound of flesh tearing.
Looking up you saw that Thea, Gilgamesh, and Ajak had made it to the scene and were helping the rest of the group kill of the remaining deviants. They all worked like a fine oiled machine and finished off what was left of the predators.
As amazing as they were, you turned back towards the man on the ground.
“Druig” You said sternly. “Druig I need you to stay awake, okay? Can you do that for me?” You pleaded.
You looked for any sign that he understood what you but were met with none.
“Druig. Please please please, stay awake.” You said as you grasped his hand. “I’m sorry for all of that earlier, okay? When you wake up we’ll sort this out — and you’ll wake up — but please. We need you to stay awake, Ajak is going to be here soon. Just stay awake.” You sobbed.
You heard the sound of footsteps approach and saw your teammates had made it down the hill; each and everyone of them were converted in blood and dirt from the battle. If you hadn’t seen what had just happened you would’ve assumed they took a bath in blood.
Once in sight Ajak rushed to Druig’s side. Her face was full of worry and she was careful not to move him as she assessed his injury. The entire group was quiet as you all feared for the worst.
“He’s going to be okay”
————————————-
You stood naked in front of the shower. You mind blank as your processed what had happened not even an hour earlier. Looking at your shaking hands you felt sick at the crimson red that stained them. You were covered in his blood and it shook you to the core just how close you were to having him die in your arms. Is this how you were going to live? On the edge of life and death?
You didn’t want that for yourself. You knew that much.
————————————-
After getting cleaned up you made your way back to the main room to fetch your armor that hadn’t made it to the wash yet. Turning the last corner you were met with a surprise: your team waiting for you.
“I think we need to talk, Y/N” Ajak said firmly as she motioned for you to join the rest of them.
The feeling of anxiety once again was present in your mind as you made your way to the circle.
“You are an Eternal, correct?” She asked.
“Y...yes?” You weren’t sure exactly where this was going.
“Then why aren’t you acting like it?”
“Wha—”
“Your job is to protect life on this planet no matter the cost. I know that. Druig knows that. Everybody in this circle knows that. So why don’t you?”
You were growing frustrated at her accusations. “What was I supposed to do? Let him die? What would happen if that was you, Ajak? Or anyone else here?” You questioned.
“Then I would expect you to do what’s best for the mission. You can’t let personal feelings get in the way of that. I love you all as if we were family but I will not compromise the job for anyone. We needed you out there. I heard that Sersi, Sprite, and Phastos called for help and you weren’t there! I know it’s hard but that is our reality. This is no time to be selfish; our mission comes before the individual and you need to figure that out.” Disappointment was evident in her voice as she looked you down. “Am I clear?”
“Yes.” You spat.
———————————-
As the sun set over the desert horizon you were almost finished packing.
A couple pairs of clothes along with enough jewelry to pay lodgings and food was all you really needed for your journey. The thought of bringing more sentimental items flashed in your mind but you feared that it would make you turn back. Make you come back home to the war, and the loss, and the bullshit you just couldn’t deal with.
You sighed. Maybe running away is the cowardly thing to do but you knew Ajak was right; you had lost sight of the mission and you couldn’t go through the agony of watching your friends die one by one. It was just easier to cut them off; severing the relationships you had with them sounded a lot better than submitting yourself to the heartbreak of death. Now the important question was: did you even want to say goodbye? If you did you weren’t sure if you could actually leave. If Ikaris even got word of you trying to leave he’d report back to Ajak and that wasn’t something that you really wanted to face.
But you remembered that there was one person who couldn’t tell a soul.
———————————-
Druig was lain out on a cot with a wool blanket draped over him. His chocolate hair was messy and his lips were cracked but to you he looked ethereal. He wasn’t awake of course — his condition would probably last a few days as Ajak had stated — but that didn’t stop you from saying goodbye.
You took a deep breath as you approached his sleeping figure. “I’m leaving. For good.”
You seated yourself on the side of his bed. “I know you probably don’t want me here but...I don’t have anyone else to talk to that won’t tell the others.”
You felt tears start pooling around your eyes as you continued. “You were right. Everyone was picking up my slack today and I just figured it’d be better if I took off, you know? Avoid facing a situation like this again. The whole thing today and last night...it just made me think. I can’t watch my friend die, Druig. How is everyone just okay with that? How am I wrong for valuing your life in such a way? I tried doing what’s best for the mission, it’s hard — so —hard to accept that because...”
Biting your tongue you debated your next words. “...because I’m in love with you. I’m in love with you and I couldn’t just let you go. Not even after how you treated me. And I’ve fought so fucking hard to keep myself together as I’ve watched you love someone else all-the-while you act disgusted by my existence. But despite all the signs telling me not to, I’ve loved you since we arrived on Earth. And I should have told you, and maybe —just maybe — that would’ve saved us all this shit,” You said motioning towards his injury.
“but you know what? Now I know.” You face grew into a scowl as you thought back through the thousands of years of insults and rejection. “I know that I didn’t deserve how you treated me. You actually made me believe that I was wicked for wanting you to like me — to treat me like a person — how crazy is that?” You half-joked.
“I’m not evil, or selfish, or any other name you’ve slapped on me because...because I deserve love. I want someone to love me just as passionately as I did you, and I want to make connections with people who I won’t have to leave after a week, and I want a life filled with friends that won’t abandon me for some stupid fucking mission!” You cried.
“And guess what, Druig?” You stood up, and wiped the tears from your eyes with your sleeve.
“I’m going to find it”
—————————-

request: Ok ik Druig and Ikarus don’t get on so, Ikaris killing the reader (druig’s closest friend who’s human maybe platonic too?) to show Druig that humans are essentially worthless and shouldn’t get attached cause they’ll die in the end and the angst and pain from Druig 🥺 “how…how could y-you”

warnings?: major character death, angst, not proofread
“What the hell did you do?”
Druig looked at the scene before him. Blood painted the floor, a chill was in the air. Everything was wrong. He looked at your body on the floor, dropping to his knees. When he reached out to touch you, your skin was already starting to turn cold.
“What needed to be done,” Ikaris said, watching as Druig collected you in his arms, cradling your body close to his chest. “You cannot be having feelings for humans. That is not our mission.”
“Part of our mission was not to interfere,” Druig said, trying to not choke on his tears. “How could you do this?”
You had been Druig’s closest friend, aside from Makkari. Since coming to kill the Deviants who were harming your town, he had found himself enjoying your company. Druig had never bothered developing any sort of relationship with a human before, but you had been so easy to be around. You were a curious person, wanting to hear about the places beyond your town, what he had seen, what he had done. And he had wanted to know what it was like to be human, to know that your days were numbered but to continue on anyways.
“You should have expected this, Druig. You know that all humans die in the end.”
“Don’t you dare act like you’re so high and mighty just because all you care about is yourself.”
“I care about the mission. As should you.”
“Get out!” Druig shouted, his anger blinding him.
Ikaris left him alone, leaving Druig with you in the small home. With his fellow Eternal gone, he let himself finally begin to cry, tears streaking down his face. You were gone, and he hadn’t been there to protect you. What kind of friend was he? How could he have not foreseen this happening? Ikaris had always had a darker side to him. Druig should have known better.
He should have known better.
Maybe you would still be alive if he hadn’t been so blind fully trusting.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, reaching up, shutting your eyes for you. “I’m so sorry. I should have been better. I should have known better. I promise you, Y/N, I will never let anything like this happen again. I swear it.”
And so began his disillusionment of the grand mission he and his Eternals had been sent on.

Easy target
One shot
(Other planet’s) Eternal!Reader x closeted bi!Druig
Warning: man on man oral action, threesomeish, unprotected sex, a little domxsub act, but nothing serious where Druig is the sub, chocking
Note: I know not everyone is into these kind of things, so really only get into reading if you know it won’t trigger you. Oh and don’t forget to be 18 or over!
Since you had no job anymore after Arishem was no longer a problem you spent all your nights in clubs. You and Makkari laughed so hard the first time you went, watching the faces Druig made. He was never to any club or pub or anything like that and that was writen on his face when he walked into the crowded place.
One months later he grabs your hand in the minute you walk in and takes you to the dance floor. You know lot of eyes are on the two of you, but you just let the feeling drive you. You are on autopilot whenever you are on the dance floor, that’s why you two kissed sometimes. Friendly, lust filled kissing, dancing so close to eachother you could feel even the littlest flinch down there.
He excuses himself and you find an another dance partner, singing, sweating in the crowd. You look over to the restroom, but there is always a line at the ladies. Eventually you give in and walk trowards the men’s as there is noone, as always.
You walk in to a scene you are not prepared for. Druig is kissing with a random guy from the dance floor. His eyes are wide open as he looks at you, as yours to be fair. “Go tell everyone…”
“I don’t want to tell anyone…”
“It is on your face!” He looks mad.
“Thusands of years and you still can’t read people’s face…” you shake your head, as you had a vicious smile on your face, but it had nothing to do with rumors.
“Go!” His eyes are turning gold and the guy starts to walk.
“Wait, do I remember right,
you tried to hit on me too?” You ask stoping him with your palm on his chest.
“Yeah, why?” He answers and finally his legs stop as Druig no longer demands on him leaving. You kiss him locking eyes with Druig.
“What are you doing?” He looks totally confused.
“Can’t we have a little fun? Or he is only yours?” you bit your lip.
“You fancy this… right?” His eyes are fulled with lust as you push the guy in his way.
“I would watch his dick in your mouth…” now you stand inches away from both of them, looking into his eyes. “Trust me, it will be our dirty little secret!” You kiss him. “Our secret plesure, noone needs to know about!” You bit his lip.
You think he has doubts, but then he kisses him and starts to unbutton the nameless’s jeans. You bit your lip, as he gets on his knees and gets the dick out of the pants. You swallow hard as he licks his lips before letting the head slide into his mouth. You know it wasn’t his first time, and that makes it even more hotter. You grab his hand and guide it to your wetness.
“You really fancy this…” he mumbles stoping with sucking for a moment as you nod. “No underwear huh?” He winks at you, and continues to work on that hard cock. You grab it, so now you dictate the speed he goes up and down on it.
“I’m going to…”
“Don’t” his eyes are gold again. “Do we need him anymore?” He turns in your way.
“No, he was just the appetizer, I want you to fuck me, finally!”
“Go, and forget anything that happend here!” And he walks out, just like that. “Where were we?”
“At the part you are about to fuck me!” You grab him by his hip and kiss him like there is not hundred if not thusands of people out there.
“Little needy woman!” He trails his finger between your legs. “How moist you are…” he bits your lip. “Did you like him or…?”
“Nah, only when he was in your mouth, that got me interested!” You let your tounge go after his, while you are about to get his member out. You push him on one of the toilets, he sits down from the sudden move. “No underwear huh?” You get on your knees and suck him as hard and fast as you can. He can’t take his eyes off of you, even when his moans are louder then the music. “You fancy this, don’t ya?” You lick the top of it, what sends a shiver down his spin.
“Yeah, I do!” He answers and you get up to sit on him. “Let me entertain you!”
“No, you do what I say!” You have your vicious look back, and you see on his face he is down for it. So you sit on him. “Did you understand?”
“Yes, ma’am!” He moans into your lips as he slides into you.
You move up and down, when he moves up. “Did I told you, you can move?” You run your finger over his throt before grabing it.
“No ma’am!” He shivers.
“Good boy!” You kiss him, with the smile on your face again.
“Can I touch you, ma’am?” You nod, and he grabs your hip with one hand, and runs the other under your dress to you back. Someone walks in looks at you, but you can’t even turn to see him. “Get out, you haven’t seen anything!” He snaps out of his role and his eyes turn to gold as he tells the man to leave. “Can I kiss you, ma’am?” And he snaps back just like that.
“Yes!” You smile at him, and he kisses you.
You still move on him, maybe even faster than before.
“Can I…?” He can’t finish as his moan is stronger.
“If you move fast to make me too!” You kiss his neck and let him take the lead. He moves fast and bounces into your body so hard, you cum even before him. “Fuck, Druig!” You scream.
“Oh God, Y/N!” He groans into your mouth as he lets his seeds all over your clenching walls.
You kiss him as you stand up, feeling the dripping on your legs. You have your vicious smile in again. “We can go home, and you can show me how you do if we swich roles!” He grabs your hand and walks out fast not carrying who sees you two leave the restroom together. You make eye contect with Sersi, she lifts her brows and you pull your shoulder. Yeah, everyone knew this will happen sooner or later. At the same moment both of you bump into Eros.
“Did you two just…?”
“Sorry, I have more important businesses, than to talk to you about what happend there!”
Druig passes by him, and you giggle under your nose. “Little needy boy!” While you almost fell on your face as he pulls you so fast walking out of the club. “Really, really needy…” you chuckle.
“I want to see how those pretty lips can beg me to fuck you even harder!” He turns back and kisses you hursh this time. God, you are facing real fun.

Bad Night
Pairing: Druig x Reader
Word count: 1.6k
amazing gif by @luke-skywalker
Summary: You come to Druig with a question. He’s curious. You guys find some answers. Not the ones you intended though.
NSFW!! smut okayyy
‘Oh fuck, Druig’
‘Druigggg’
“Druig!”
He hears your voice calling out to him breathily in his dream, and then clearer in reality.
He groans, lifting only his upper body from the bed in a stretch; and he has to hide his smile when he catches your eyes lingering on his shirtless form.
Even if he had caught you ogling a bit, you still had the upper hand. He was the one half hard just from fucking dreaming about your voice.
“Y/N, what could of possibly made it necessary for you to wake me up this early?” He drawls, glancing out his bedroom window and noticing the sky was still dark. “Or is it late?” He questions, eyes studying your face.
It was dim in his room, a candle lit on his nightstand. You must have lit it before you woke him. He felt drunk on the sight of you. You looked stunning in the candlelight. Your hair was a bit messy, and you were clad in nothing but a short silk night gown. Which surprised him, because you didn’t afford yourself many luxuries. Though you deserved them.
Now, despite how tired he was; he was intrigued.
What had brought you to his room, clearly straight from your own slumber.
“I needed to ask you something” your quiet voice answers, eyes meeting his. The two of you hold eye contact as he sits up against the pillows, your eyes drifting downwards for a moment when the sheet falls to gather around his waist.
When you break eye contact he takes the chance to study your frame as well, and fuck, he could do it all day. If perfection took form, it’d be you he thinks.
The way your pretty fingers reached to grab the strap of your night gown when it slipped down your smooth arm.
The air catches in his throat as his gaze travels down the nape of your neck. And his semi hard cock twitches against the sheets when he sees the swell of your breasts, rising and falling with each breathe you took. Nipples hard, pressed tightly against the thin fabric.
He closes his eyes and clears his throat before opening them again. This time to look at your face.
Your arms were now crossed over your body and fear ran through Druig, certain that you’d caught him.
Instead you give him a small smile, brushing your hands over your forearms.
“Why do you keep it so cold in here, Druig?” You ask with a fake pout and he can’t help but to sigh in relief.
“Do you want to get under the covers?” He offers, and you jump at the invitation.
Obviously after 7,000 years of companionship the two of you, and all of you, were extremely close. But why had you come to see him tonight? Why were you so eager to join him, literally in bed?
“I had a bad night, I was waiting for you to invite me for a cuddle” you giggle, making yourself comfortable beside him.
Druig grins as he looks at you, both of you now propped on your sides to face each other. He feels a twinge of guilt for his filthy thoughts, you just wanted to spend quality time with a good friend.
“So, tell me about your night? What was so bad love?” He asks and the nickname catches you off-guard. You body heats up, and not just from being under the blanket now.
“I don’t know, I just couldn’t sleep. I felt restless. And you…you always make me feel calm; at peace” you shrug and Druig is stunned into momentary silence at your sweet confession.
You are my peace. He wants to say back.
“I’m glad you came…” he trails off, hand reaching to push a few stray strands of hair out of your face. He lets his fingers graze over your cheeks, and the skin there feels like he lit a fire under his touch.
“Druig...” his name falls from your lips in a whisper, just like his dream.
“My beautiful, beautiful y/n. Will you let me have you?” He asks in a voice so heavy with want it sends a red hot pleasure straight to your core.
“Take me, I’m yours” you hum. And then he’s kissing you.
His lips press against yours gently at first, the first taste of him is intoxicating.
You wrap your arms around his neck and pull him to you. His hands gripping your waist as he does the same.
Druig feels his blood boil when you moan against his mouth as your bodies meet. The feeling of you clinging to him, and the soft, sweet touch of your lips on his…it was almost overwhelming.
But in the same instant he wants more.
He pushes you down, so you’re flat on on his bed. His blue eyes raking down your squirming form. You looked flawless splayed out on his mattress. And a feeling of unease washes over him.
“Are you sure this is what you want? That I’m what you want?” He asks. His voice steady, but expression saying everything.
“Druig, you’re all I’ve ever wanted…” you admit, He’s back on you in seconds, leaving wet kisses down the column of your throat.
You let your hands tangle in his dark hair as he nips at the peaks of your breasts. He takes one in his hand, kneading. Mouth still leaving playful bites across your skin. He pulls down the top of your night gown, and you shimmy the rest of the way out of it.
“You’re perfect…” he pulls away to admire you for moment and before you can thank him, his mouth is wrapped around your nipple. You gasp as his tongue swirls around the sensitive bud. His fingers coming up to tweak the other one.
“I love your tits” he growls, switching and giving the other breast the same attention with his tongue.
If Druig’s cock wasn’t fully hard before, it was now.
His fingers dance down your front, tracing over your hips.
Then lower;
Your eyes flutter shut when his knuckle brushes over your sensitive clit. A soft sigh leaving your lips.
He rubs up and and down your thighs. Tongue leaving a wet trail down down your abdomen until he’s face to face with your dripping pussy.
“All this for me, Y/N?” He asks with a smirk, but inside he felt incredulous.
He runs a finger down your folds till he finds your entrance. He looks up you through his lashes for permission.
“Yes, Druig” you beg, sitting up on your elbows. You were panting already and he had barely touched you.
You can feel his slender fingers begin to push into you tentatively and your mouth parts into a small ‘o’ as you watch him.
“So wet, I wanna taste it” he whispers against your mound before he’s lapping at your clit like it’s his job. You fall back into the bed, back arching as he works your pussy.
He’s messy and attentive, paying attention to the things that made you moan the loudest. His fingers speed up inside you, and his mouth focuses on your clit.
Your legs tighten around his head as your orgasm approaches, but he wasn’t stopping until his face was soaked with your juices. He grabs your legs, placing them over his shoulders before he starts licking you again.
Your whimpers echoed through his otherwise quiet room as he devoured you. His fingers return to your pussy, curling them upwards each time they pushed into you.
“Dru… I’m gonna cum!” You warm and he hums against you before sucking on your clit.
Your toes curl as the pleasure crests in your belly, body shaking in ecstasy.
And he licks you clean as you come down, savoring the taste of you.
“Please, Druig; I want to feel all of you” you tell him when he comes up to kiss you. He presses his forehead to yours with a nod.
“I’d do anything you ask Y/N” he says, kicking off his sleep shorts.
He lines up with your entrance, and you both hold you both hold your breath.
He pushes in, just the tip and the moans are already spilling out of you. Druig feels his dick get impossibly harder at the sound of you. He pulls back out, slapping his cock against your clit and then slipping just the head back inside of you.
Your body shudders in pleasure at his actions.
Enough teasing he thinks, he feels like he could explode just looking at you.
He eases in, pressing himself fully into you and your legs wrap around his waist.
“So fucking deep…” you murmur, eyes rolling back at the feel of his thick cock inside of you. Druig’s brow is damp with sweat as he concentrates on fucking you.
He watches you below him, face contorted in pure rapture. Because of him. He thrusts even harder at the thought. You wanted him.
Druig sets an unsparing pace, fucking you like it was the last thing he’d ever do. Fuck, he’d be fine if it was.
Your moans turn to screams as he rams into you over and over. You feel your second climax creeping up and your pussy clenches around him.
His hips stutter, fist slamming into the mattress at the sensation.
“Fuck, I’m not gonna last if you keep that up” he warns and you pull his head down to your mouth so can whisper in his ear.
“So don’t, cum inside me Druig…”
And fuck he wishes it wasn’t over so soon, but as soon as he hears your filthy suggestion his orgasm is ripping through him. His load paints your walls; triggering your own release.
“Wait! I never asked you my question!”

The Lost Eternal
Druig X Reader
Summary: You and Druig were always the eternal couple that stayed in the shadows, but your love for each other was brighter than no other. However when you fall ill with Mad Wr’ry your team members' prior opinions about you and your true love lead to all your memories being taken from your mind, worst of all your true love being taken from your head. Being banished back to earth as an immortal unaware of your powers, would you ever be able to find your true love again?
This imagine is loosely connected to the song ‘Centuries’ by Fall Out Boy, play it while you read!
Warnings: Angst, female identifying reader, use of y/n, slight implications of smut, fighting depicted, written and proofread on a train, satisfying end?, etc.
Word Count: 4.0K
The year was 5000 BC, you were just created by the celestial Arishem and onboard the Domo traveling to a planet that would eventually be known as earth. You were one of ten individuals known as Eternals. Meeting your fellow immortals was a strange feeling, but one of them brought on a different kind of strange feeling. When you talked to him you no longer felt cool, calm, and collected. There was this buzzing, fluttery feeling in your stomach and an ever-present smile on your face. His icy blue eyes kept yours encapsulated and you wished to talk to him forever. His name was Druig.
That flying feeling you got when you talked to him never really went away, even after you two got together officially. But maybe that was because you continued to sneak around and never formally told the other Eternals about the two of you, besides, they all had their reasonable suspicions after a few thousand years or so. Anyways, you didn’t want to take the spotlight off of Sersi and Ikaris.
Living as an Eternal was one thing, but getting to live on forever with someone you considered to be your soulmate, that was a privilege like no other. The year was now 1521 CE, and you all were closing in on the last of the deviants, ridding them from the earth for good. Right as you were about to strike a deviant with the strong glow emitting from your palms, everything went black.
“Y/n?” Sersi asked, seeing a deviant lay dead in front of you as you seemingly stared off into nothing. You gave no response, so Sersi inched closer and gently placed her hand on your shoulder. Bad idea. You immediately flipped around and knocked Sersi back with so much force she collided with a nearby tree, your eyes were no longer their natural color, rather a pale milky white. Ikaris flew over to Sersi and gently checked to see if she was okay, then turned to you wondering what the hell was your problem. He barely had a moment to react before you were brutally attacking him as well, yellow beams shot from his eyes in self defense but that only knocked you back temporarily. Standing back up you went to charge him again, he shot back at you but this time you held up your hands and absorbed his powers.
Your hands turning gold with all the energy going into you, before the color started to spread to your arms, your chest, and then your whole body was glowing a beautiful gold. Ikaris stopped pouring his energy into you as you started to scream out, the rest of the eternals quickly came around hearing your cries. They all halted at the sight of you, unsure what to do. But not Druig, with no hesitation in his steps he ran towards to help, even if he had no idea what was happening to you. As he came within a few yards of you, BOOM! Waves of bright gold exploded from you, knocking over everyone around you. You collapsed on the ground beneath you, looking tired and drained. As soon as he regain his footing Druig ran over to you, falling at your side trying to make sure you were still alive. You were were still breathing, but Druig couldn’t wake you up. Ajak stood up and walked over to his side. “I’m so sorry, let’s bring her to the temple nearby.” she said, silently asking everyone to follow.
“I’m afraid y/n has Mad Wr’ry.” Ajak said solemnly, removing her hands from your head after Druig set you down on the stone table.
“What?! I thought that was an ancient myth” Sprite voiced.
“Sadly not.” Ajak responded.
“Well she attacked me and Sersi, so we need to rid her of whatever this is fast.” Ikaris said with a scoff, earning a few eye rolls.
“What is the cure for this Ajak?” Sersi asked.
“Unfortunately there is only one cure for Mad Wr’ry, and it’s to erase all of her memories since the weight of all the ones she's collected thus far has become too much for her mind to handle.” Ajak explained.
“No, you can’t just erase everything she’s ever experienced, y/n isn’t her without her hundreds of years of memories.” Druig protested, maybe he was being selfish because he didn’t want all his years with you to be wiped away, besides that he also knew how much you loved seeing the world and how it evolved over the years.
Ajak gave Druig a look of pity, everyone knew about your thing that’s been going with him since the dawn of time, but it was rarely acknowledged unlike Ajak’s clear favorite couple that was Sersi and Ikaris. Your love for one another always remained unacknowledged because everyone else thought that you were too good of heart, too pure of intention to be with Druig. He was seen as a bad influence, someone who didn’t like to follow his leader, he saw life on this planet as his own and no one else’s.
So there you lay, comatose on the table as the rest of your fellow Eternals conversed unaware that you were able to hear them arguing about your future. Of course you wanted to keep your memories and just deal with the Mad Wr’ry, even if that meant struggling for the rest of time.
But with prior opinions about you and Druig, the rest of the Eternals decided it was best for you to start clean and have your memories wiped.
“So it’s settled then?” Ikaris asked.
“No, no it’s not! You can’t take her memories from her, I won’t let you!” Druig said, going from arguing to pleading. His eyes flicking gold thinking of the possibility he could just make everyone forget this, but he knew the Mad Wr’ry would show up again.
“I know it’s hard, but it’s what’s best for her.” Markkari signed with a sad face.
Tears started to well up in Druig’s icy blue eyes, a rare sight no other Eternal had ever seen. It almost made Ajak rethink her decision for a moment, but she knew what she had to do.
Druig slowly stepped up to your sleeping form and sat beside you. He learned down and embraced you one last time, and you could feel him all around you. You felt like a little girl as you banged on the walls of your inner psyche trying to wake up and beg him to take you away and not let the others do this to you. But when you heard Druig’s smooth voice talking to your inside your head, you knew it was over.
He worked his way into your head and said the things he was too scared to say aloud in front of his other Eternals, and most of the time too afraid to even say aloud to you.
“My beautiful, beautiful y/n. I don’t know if you can even hear me right now but I have to tell you this. You’ve loved me since the dawn of time and absolutely nothing is comparable to that. You have backed me up through my good actions and my bad over thousands of years. I never said it enough but I love you more than anything, you mean the world to me y/n; you always will.”
You were silently sobbing in your head and you felt the presence of his voice leave your mind. You didn’t want to go, and even if you had to you just wanted to give him one last kiss.
“Goodbye my love, remember me for centuries. I will never forget you.” Druig said aloud, sealing his love away with a searing kiss to your forehead.
“And goodbye to all of you. I can’t stand to watch whatever you're about to do to her, so this is goodbye.”
And with that Druig stopped the war waging below him and and bellowed his anger by controlling the few hundred people and leading them into the forest, to lead his own colony where he’d never have to see his fellow Eternals or have to know what ever happened to you.
Ikaris went to stop Druig from this new reign of terror but Ajak stopped him.
“We took away his first and only love, you of all people are one of the few who might even be able to begin to understand what Druig just went through. Let him go.”
Ajak was as happy about Druig’s choice as any other Eternal, but she understood what she had taken away from him.
“With all due respect Ajak, we can’t just let him go and use his powers on mere mortals. It’s not right. What would Arishem have to say about this?”
“It’s not right at all, but I will speak with Arishem when I return to the Domo with y/n. From now on this is none of your concern. You all should say your goodbyes to y/n now.”
Everyone’s shared glances of sadness and grief, one by one approaching you and saying their goodbyes. Once everyone was done Ajak stood right outside of the temple and carried you in her arms as she called forth the Domo and brought you up into it.
Flying far, far away, Druig saw the Domo pass him overhead and fell to his knees. He cried out in agony, knowing his one true love was gone. The rest of the former soldiers he took control of felt his pain and followed in his actions, each one of them also falling to their knees and crying out.
The screams were heard from miles away, the Eternals who were left at the temple heard the cries and all chose to ignore it. Bitterly knowing exactly what they were hearing. They missed you too.
—
Accepting that you were really gone was out of the question for Druig. So to avoid facing the reality that you no longer walked on this green earth, he busied himself with creating a colony. All the soldiers he took from the war, men and women alike, had built a town in the middle of the amazon. Controlling their minds constantly, helping them to build what he considered to be a perfect world, a perfect town, and what the rest of the world should look like.
When Ajak made it onto the Domo with you, she set you down and went to speak with Arishem.
“Ajak, why have you returned to the Domo?” Arishem prompted.
“I’m afraid Y/n has fallen ill with Mad Wr’ry, and we all decided it would be best if I brought her back to the ship and have her healed.” Ajak explained.
“You wish for her memories to be erased?” he asked, eyes flicking with debate.
“Yes, and forgive me for asking this Arishem but. . . well you see y/n had something very special with Druig. I feel their connection was like no other I’ve seen between Eternals before. I know you don’t condone these superficial beings committing to relationships but-”
“Silence!” the celestial boomed, muting his creation. “For asking, she will now keep absolutely no memories and only know that she is immortal. She will believe she is powerless and live on in the mortal world since her mind clearly can’t handle thousands of years of heroism. Tell no one of this, or else.” Ajak was stunned at Arishem’s orders but wasn’t one to disobey him quite yet. So she brought you back to earth and placed you in areas she knew you’d live on in safely as an immortal. She’d visit you every decade or so for a few hundred years, helping you adjust to immortality and stay under the watching eye of ever-evolving towns and governments. However, no matter where she helped you move; she made sure to keep you far far away from Druig.
Speaking of Druig, Ajak knew she had to say something to him. A few months after you were wiped clean and had settled into a new life under the impression you had no powers and were simply cursed with immortality, Ajak let you be on your own for awhile and decided to pay Druig a visit.
“Here to break my heart again?” Druig asked, sensing Ajak’s presence as she walked into the sanctuary.
“Afraid so. . .” she replied with a slight chuckle, making Druig turn around to face her, fearing the news he was about to hear.
“The Mad Wr’ry was worse than we thought, it may take a thousand centuries before she is like new again. Even after she is cured, Arishem isn’t sure he wants her back on earth right away. He wants her to stay on the Domo to study her, and keep her safe.” Ajak said, every word falling from her mouth less truthful than the last. But she knew she couldn’t tell Druig what really happened with you, because she knew he’d go searching for you. So she had to kill his spirit, diminish his belief that he could find you again.
—
The year was now 2024, you had recently moved to a new town in the Spring in order to continue to stay under the radar. You had studied this town for a few months before you made the move, and it seemed like the perfect place to hide as an immortal for the next 7 decades or so. The population was said to be less than 1,000 people, and everyone was spaced out with at least two miles between every house. There was only one large grocery store that had everything one might need. But in short, no one there knew anyone. It was a great place to just disappear.
There were also some intriguing rumors surrounding a nearby forest that lead you down a rabbit hole of articles when researching the town. The rural area was somewhat close to the amazon rainforest, where legends of a centuries old cult was thought to be.
“The cult is believed to have been formed sometime in the 1500s, the members never seen recruiting others and keeping their own hand-built town exclusively to the new generations born from previous members. Unknown to have any chaotic or harmful practices, the people of the cult only worship a rumordly immortal god who gives them everything they need to survive in exchange for seemingly nothing. With no official name for this cult, historians often refer to this clan as “the perfect town” or “the eternal village” due to its appearance coming across and what so many think society should look like, and the fact that these people have lived on for generations in the same place somewhere deep in the amazon forest.
Many have tried to join or even just visit this cult over the years but every historian and brave soul comes back with a wiped memory and lack of desire to ever go back. More recent technology has shown us videos of people walking right into the little town and a townsperson coming up to them, holding a conversation for maybe two minutes at most before the visitor willingly turns around and leaves out of nowhere. We may never know the truth, but the eternal village will live on forever.”
One article read, immensely furthering your interest in this cult believed to be so close to your new home. You also wondered, if it was acceptable, interesting even, for some immortal god to be out there leading generations worth of people, why were you still in hiding as an immortal? You closed you laptop and left your desk, not wanting to spiral asking yourself that question again.
Summer was soon approaching in your new rural borough, and that meant your supply of basic necessities was running low. Time for a trip to the only grocery store in town, a trip that would prove to change the course of your life. Because it just so happened that was the same store Druig made his supply runs to as well. Call it a coincidence, or maybe you could call what was about to happen fate.
There you were, meandering down the soup aisle trying to decide what flavor would be the least disgusting after eating it for 3 months. You felt the presence of someone else in the aisle with you, but that was of little to no concern considering no one knew anyone around here. . . right?
But then he saw you, dropping the item in his hand he stared at you in disbelief, not truly believing it was really you. His eyes scanned your form for what felt like hours, mentally slapping himself thinking this was another illusion of his. But you could feel his ever-present stare on you and after a while you let your eyes meet his, and that’s when he knew it was you.
“Y/n.” he said softly, almost as if he was afraid to speak too loud and wake himself from this dream.
“Yes?” You asked, looking at the unknown man with encapsulating blue eyes staring back at you. But he didn’t stare for much longer. He left his basket of things and ran over to embrace you. After all these years, he thought you were long gone.
After maybe a minute or two passed of him hugging you, you gently said, “I’m sorry, but do I know you?” Your memories may have been gone, but you were still this nice person with a kind heart of gold. Unable to be rude or push back on the people whom you didn’t know or made you uncomfortable.
At this time Druig was a total stranger to you, but when he pulled away and his eyes bored into yours you didn’t even resist when he said “come with me” as he grabbed your hand and pulled you out of the store.
His hand in yours felt right, like you had done this countless times before. Was this deja vu?
He brought you in his car and sat you down in the passenger seat, saying nothing for the drive.
The drive felt endless, no words were spoken either. But the energy wasn’t off, it was actually the most comfortable you’d felt in a long, long time.
Pulling into what looked like the middle of nowhere, Druig exited the car and helped you out of the passenger seat, once again taking your hand and leading you to god knows where.
You started to realize you were walking through what seemed like a small civilization, people all dressed similarly started to watch you as you walked by. Was the the cult you had read about? Then you were led into what looked like a small house of worship. He sat you down on a bench and embraced both your hands as you met your eyes once again.
“You’re immortal.” Druig stated plainly, like it wasn’t something you’d been hiding for years. You choked on nothing but air and quickly denied his statement, but he only laughed.
“There’s no need to lie to me, love.” Usually you’d be put-off by any man that referred to you so endearingly so soon, but that deja vu feeling you’d heard of came back once again.
“When did you come back?” He asked, one of his hands shifting to rest on your knee. He always had to be touching you somewhere, maybe now more than ever to reassure himself that you were here with him.
“Come back?” You questioned, there was no coming back for you, only being born.
“Oh my dear y/n, do you even know who you are?” He asked sweetly.
“I was born in 1521, told by someone else cursed with immortality that I was bound to walk this earth until it crumbled. She never told me why this happened to me, but she helped me navigate it. Although I haven’t seen her for quite a few centuries now, the last time I saw her she told me I was ready to go about my immortality on my own.” You poured out, a wave of relief gently washing over your heart as it felt good to be able to tell someone else your secret.
“Did Ajak tell you about your powers?” Druig pressed, wondering if you’d been living on as an all powerful eternal or just a standard immortal.
“How did you know her name was Ajak?”
“Because she is the lead Eternal, we’re a group of all powerful beings that were sent here to earth 7,000 years ago to protect humans from these things called the deviants. You Included.”
You sat back in shock, not even fully understanding what was being said to you.
“Here, can I show you?” Druig asked cautiously, his eyes flicking a familiar gold. You nodded, trusting him like you’d known him for your whole life.
Next thing you knew your mind felt like it was floating and surrounded by Druig’s voice, it felt relaxing, like you knew this feeling, missed it, craved it.
You could no longer see Druig in front of you, instead you were seeing the world through what looked like his eyes. There was the creation, and even though you had no memory of it you saw yourself there. He showed you battles with deviants and you saw yourself fighting alongside other people, seemingly other Eternals. You did recognize Ajak, fighting and healing. Then you saw yourself, looking braver than ever, even comparable to a god— you were a god.
You saw the aftermath of the battle, catching yourself staring at Druig from time to time. Then you saw yourself with him, in his arms, cuddled into him, and even under him. You suddenly realized why you felt so comfortable around him, because he was your first love, your only love, your immortal love. Then you saw yourself lying unconscious on a stone table, the rest of the Eternals around you debating what to do about your disease. You heard Druig fighting for you, watching him kiss you one last time.
And that was it, you just watched your whole life as an eternal through your lover's eyes. In disbelief that Ajak never told you about your abilities, you clenched your fists and a gold-ish glow started to emit from them. Seeing what you were doing you calmed down, never knowing you had the ability to do that before.
“There’s my little firecracker, god I missed you so—“ you cut Druig off before he could finish his sentence and nearly knocked him over with a lung crushing hug. The memories of you and him had all come rushing back to you, your eyes welling up thinking about all those years you missed.
“I can’t believe I didn’t remember, you’re as handsome as the day I left you.” You said pulling back and running your hands over his cheeks. Taking in the feeling of his skin, the weight of his hands on your hips, the feeling of pure love running through your veins. He stared back at you with nothing but love and admiration, smiling, so immensely happy, that he had you back in his arms.
He started to kiss all over your face starting from your forehead moving his way down. “I see..” *kiss* “that you’ve..” *kiss* “listened to me..” *kiss* “after all these years…” and as he sealed one more kiss below your ear making your heart drop to your toes, he whispered: “you remembered me for centuries” he said with a sly smirk, the memory of his last words rushing back to you as you smiled and pulled him in for a kiss. It wouldn’t make up for the thousands of years lost, but with this newfound time to be with each other you’d work every night and day to make up for time lost.

"I can make you both humans"
Her voice rang in your hears like an echo who would never dissipate. You barely had time mourn Ikarus (who you hated anyways) that the best news of your life entered your ears.
Everything you had ever dreamed about, everything you wanted your life to be - could happen.
"You're serious?" Your eyes lit up, any pain or problem that you had suddenly fading away.
"Yes." Sirse looked down to her hand, "I still have power from the celestial." She looked back up to you and then to Sprite. "I think enough to make you both human"
Sprite suddenly turned quiet, but the hope in her eyes was flagrant.
"You can go first, Sprite." You turned to her but she gulped and shook her head.
"You deserve it more than I do, Y/n. Go first and if she has more left, I'll go."
"Sprite-"
"Please. Think of it as my gift for trying to hurt you." She looked down to her feet.
"Alright." You straightened your back and took a step closer to Sirse. "Mark my words, there is going to be enough for you too."
You gave her your hand, she took it in her palm placing her other one on top of yours. She closed her eyes and you kept her stare on her in wonder.
The more she was focusing on you the more you felt yourself change.
And like magic you became human.
~
"I cant beleive you look my age" Druig’s voice brought you back from your thoughts, making you tare your eyes away from your image in the mirror.
"You know that we’ve always been the same age?" You raised an eyebrow, turning around so you could face him.
"You know you’ve always looked younger, it’s weird seeing you grow." He took a second to look at you again and to compose himself. "You look good." He pointed out.
"Nah that’s just the dress." You looked down and ran your hands along the white fabric.
"You look good in anything Y/n/n." You met his eyes and you swore you saw tears collect at the rim.
"Awww, don’t tell me you’re crying." You chuckled, pouting in aw as you opened your arms, closing him into a hug.
"M’not." He mumbled into your shoulder. "Just got something in my eye."
"Yeah sure." You rolled your eyes and heard him sniff, making you want to cry for yourself. Suddenly the hug became a little tighter. "Druig your going to crumple the dress"
"Sorry." He pulled away and scanned your figure again.
"It’s ok." You chuckled lightly as you looked down to your skirt, it still looked perfect. "Can I ask you something?" You squeezed Druig’s arm.
"Of course."
"Will you give me away?"
For a second you weren’t sure of his reply. He held your hand, looking at you as if he was assessing something. You stayed like this for a good 30 seconds, realising that his eyes were getting glossier and he was just trying to stay calm at your question.
"Yeah." He talked out but his voice was all shaky. "Of course I will." He quickly wiped his eyes, and you wanted to hug him again but-
"Y/n!" Wanda burst into the room accompanied by Thena. "How have you never introduced me to her!?" She turned to Thena who gave a small smile as well.
"Well I guess I never got the opportunity" You eyes Druig who was trying to recompose himself.
"Gosh Y/n, you look beautiful." Thena’s face brightened up, and your heart warmed at the sight.
"Thank you."
"You know what this reminds me of?" Thena approached you and placed a hand on the rim of your sleeve. "The dress that one Italian princess wore when she got married in Venice." You bit your lip - she saw right through you. "The same sleeves, same skirt, same cut" she turned to Druig who seemed to be pulling the memory out.
"I mean we attended so many weddings-"
"The one where you got mad at the groom and mind controlled him?"
"Oh! I remember. Yeah it does look alike."
"I did find the sketches in a museum and I did ask for it to be the main inspiration." You look down at the dress. "You caught me."
"I knew you had loved that wedding." Thena walked closer to you, placing a hand on your arm. "I remember you talking about it non stop."
"Wasn’t it the one where she got all depressed after because she knew she would never get a wedding or something." Druig wondered at loud and your heart did a little flip in your rib cage.
"Yeah." You toyed with your hands. "Look at me now."
"The most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen." Thena wipe the tear you didn’t even know had fallen.
"Y/n! Don’t ruin my make up!" Wanda grabbed something from the vanity on the other side of the room and fixed the little mascara that had gone loose.
"Sorry."
"Alright now c’mon!" Druig stretched his arm out so you could hang on to it.
"Peter is waiting for you."
