Soap gets Ghost a blanket with little ghosts on it right before Halloween as a pisstake, and he's positive that Ghost just tosses it in a corner somewhere and leaves it.

Until they start touching tips on the regular, and Soap decides to bother him one morning on base when they have fuck all else to do because he's bored and a little horny.

So, he finds himself outside of Ghost's door and just lets himself in instead of knocking because he's like that and instead of finding an angry 'built like a brick shithouse' man glaring at him angrily, he finds a very asleep Lieutenant in his bed. Ghost is sprawled out, hair sticking up at every angle, and Soap can hear him snoring quietly, but what he really cares about is the fact that Ghost has a death grip on the corner of the ghost blanket and the rest of it is under him.

Soap would wake him if it weren't for the fact it's the most peaceful he's ever seen the man, and Ghost is drooling onto the blanket where his face is smushed on it. Suddenly, Soap is overcome with this warm fuzzy feeling in his chest, and it hits him like a truck. He isn't content, just banging his lieutenant. Nope, he wants Ghost. All of him. He wants to wife up his lt.

i envy people with camera rolls and have collections of pictures, how can you stand to scroll all the way through your gallery, picking out what has to go, how can you stand to run there? you're 12, then 13, and then 16 tomorrow, and it's just a tuesday for you. you even tell yourself that the little kid in the frame is ugly, or worn, worrying about stupid things like if your haircut was slightly off, if you had a little oil on your skin, if there was acne all over you like a fire, if your teeth were crooked, if you looked pretty or not; what a stupid thing to worry about! stupid stupid stupid! look at how wealthy you are! look at the richness of your memories! what i'd give to see it all laid out like that. glimpses of life! old friends! how could you hate them like that! stupid! these are parts of you that will never happen again that were lucky enough to be remembered by the light and you turn your nose up at it, how could you? if i had a gallery like you i would turn all of those pictures into thread. i would weave a tapestry like a blanket. i would love that little kid so well and i would tell them, please remember this, please, please, please, don't stop wishing that you were me, but don't stop being happy about now, your haircut's pretty, your skin is pretty, your face is pretty, your teeth are pretty, you are beautiful, i love you.

I was absolutely devastated, ended up just writing script and doing crummy thumbnails with my finger. Luckily the first thing we did in Tokyo was go to an electronics store to buy me a new one.
