An employee of Dreamworld Entertainment is invited by a friend visiting town to come over to his work to get a gift. Tape is believed to be edited and or tampered with.

Beginning tape playback…

The video begins with two photos on screen, showing a call playback.

On the right is Cesar Torre’s High School photo, showing him smirking at the camera.

And on the left is Mark Heathcliff’s employee ID photo…he is not smiling and looks bored.

“Hello?”

Mark groggily asks, sounding like he just woke up.

“Heya Mark, are you doing good?”

Cesar asks.

(To make reading easier, we will use shortened names to indicate who is talking.)

MH: “Cesar? Why the fuck are you calling me in the middle of the night?”

CT: “Because I came to visit you but the flight got delayed a lot.”

MH: “Look right now I…what?”

CT: “I just got off my flight and can finally call you.”

MH: “...Did you seriously come here, all the way from Mandela County…just to call me?”

CT: “Of course not. I wanted to come by since I forgot to give you your Christmas Present.”

MH: “You could have just mailed it to me.”

CT: “I know but I didn't want to seem like a jerk and just mail you a gift late.”

MH: “Fine…when are you going to get here?”

CT: “Soon…Mind visiting your work first?”

MH: “What? Why?”

CT: “Come on! It's pretty close to you so you won't have to travel 10 miles just so I can give you your gift. Especially with that snowstorm coming in.”

MH: “...Fine. But if Sara fires me I am sending you home with a drop kick.”

CT: “Alright, mind bringing your old video camera to film? Your sis wants a video to see how you're doing.”

MH: “Fine. Let me just get rea-dydydydydydddddddddd-”

Audio glitches out, as Cesar’s face is replaced with Sara Covetmen's face.

The video cuts to dashcam footage of Mark Heathcliff driving to Dreamworld Entertainment.

Snow covers the streets as the radio plays “Let it Snow” before being interrupted by a Weather alert.

“Please be advised that a snowstorm warning has been issued in Erie County, Huron County, Richland County, Ashfield County, and Knox County. If you live in any of these counties, it is advised to stay indoors, light your fireplaces if you have one, turn on heating machines, and wait out the snowstorm. It is advised to stay off the roads and stay indoors-”

“Fucking Ceaser making me come out to my work during this storm…I hope he stays safe.”

Mark sighs as he turns up the heater in his car and turns off the radio.

The camera skips ahead to Mark arriving at Dreamworld Entertainment Facility. The lights were off but the front door was open.

“Seriously Cesar?”

Mark sighs seeing this.

“I am so fired if Sara finds out about this.”

He says beginning to get out and-

The footage cuts to grainy Security Cam footage of Mark entering the Lobby, taking off the hood of his hoodie as he looks around the area.

“CESAR!” He yells, shining the camera’s light around, over cardboard cutouts of the cast and murals. “Why is it so warm in here…shouldn't the night crew have turned off the heater?”

He says confused as he makes his way to an open door to the stairs, leaving the view of the camera.

It then cuts to footage from earlier, showing Cesar walking around Dreamworld. “Mark!...Mark!” He yells, seemingly looking for Mark despite calling him there, suddenly there's the sound of something falling over, and Cesar investigating, once again leaving the view of the camera.

It cuts back to Mark’s camera, walking around the halls Seaventure as he grumbles. “The minute I find him I am going to-”

“To what, Little Guppy?”

Glory asked, revealing herself hidden under the water. It is unknown what to call what Mark did as the camera shakes a lot as he makes a lot of noise. “AH GAH GHUGH! AH!...Glory can you…not do that?” He sighs, after nearly having 20 heart attacks.

“Sorry.” She giggles a bit as she raises her head above the water. “But who exactly are you looking for?” “My friend, Cesar…soon to be Exfriend when I find him for pulling this joke on me.” He grumbles. “Cesar…l-like the Roman Leader?” She giggles a bit

“Yeah, though more annoying and less leadery.” He chuckles as he looks around. “Seen him?” “Sorry hun. Haven’t seen him all night…but I did hear someone heading to Staract.” She says. “Thank you…Have a good night Glory.” He chuckles with a smile beginning to leave. The footage cuts ahead to Mark making it to Staract. “CESAR! You there?!” He yells as he exits the stairwell. Nothing, just empty halls of Murals of stars, and Pictures of Starlight. “Christ when did it get so cold? It feels like-” He was about to finish…when he heard music coming from the Theatre. “Cesar?” He begins to walk past more murals and paintings, as he walks through the doors to the grand theater, rows and rows of star covered seats empty, spotlights shining onto the stage, and at the center…Cesar, a big grin plastered across his face. “Heya Mark. Glad you could make it.” He says, tilting his head to the side as Mark and the camera stare at him. “Uh yeah…Mind explaining how you set this up-” “Oh, Sara helped me silly! She saw how great an employee you were and wanted to help me.” He chuckles, tilting his head to the other side now. “In fact, your gift is with her backstage right now…all you have to do is come here and get it.” He says, his grin growing. “...Yeah let me just get something real quick.” Mark said, turning around and beginning to walk away.

“That’s not Cesar.” He says to himself as his footsteps are joined by Cesar’s. “Markkkkk~ Come back I have a gift for yooooou~” Cesar says, as Mark goes from walking to running. The footage cuts back to Mark’s Dashcam, pointed still towards the front doors to Dreamworld, As Mark comes out of them with a large gash across his right cheek on his face and missing his hoodie.

“Get the fuck away from me!” He yells, opening the car door and shutting it, beginning to try and start it as distorted lobby music is heard coming from the open doors. Mark tries to start the car, headlights flashing on as Cesar is seen slowly walking towards him. 

But quickly Cesar begins to change, growing taller and thinner as his grin grows wider. 

Until finally Mark starts the car and drives off.

It cuts to later, Mark’s camera on the bed as he frantically dials 911.

“Come on come on come on!” He yells, redialing over and over again as a loud weather alert plays on TV.

He seemingly gets an answer.

“PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME, SOMETHING IS FUCKING WEARING MY FRIEND AND IT’S AT DREAMWORLD AND-” Suddenly the call is cut off…along with the power. He quickly swears under his breath and grabs his camera and flashlight. Heading to the living room about to leave…as someone knocks on the door.

“H-Hello?! Tell who the fuck you are or so-” “MARK WAIT! It’s me Wiatt, You know from work? I…I got your call about Dreamworld.”

Wiatt could be seen a little through the frosted glass window on the door, Mark doesn’t move. Listening to Wiatt.

“I think Cesar was killed by Sara and had his soul taken, and she might be coming after you to tie off loose ends. But don’t worry, me and Damien can help keep you safe-”

“I didn’t call you.”

Mark interrupted, backing away from the door.

“What? But I-”

“I tried to call those two nutjobs who investigate paranormal activity and keep trying to break into Dreamworld…but not you.”

Mark says slowly backing away from the door.

“...Well, that’s an actual surprise.”

The voice chuckles, becoming distorted and sounding more like Sara.

“I must say, I’m real impressed, really! You saw through my disguise so easily I thought I wasn’t wearing one at first. I mean Cesar was fooled when he saw me in the Staract.” The doorknob shakes as the voice tries to enter.

“But not you, of course though it doesn’t really matter…Let me in Mark.”

The television in the living room suddenly turns on, showing a distorted warning as Mark points the camera at it suddenly.

“If an alternate enters your home, lock yourself in your bedroom, acquire a loaded firearm, and END IT ALL MARK.”

The last part is repeated over and over again. The front door begins to break as the thing slams into it, over and over again. “MARK. LET ME INNNNNN!” The door breaks as Mark runs away, laughter filling his house as he enters his bedroom and locks the door.

He runs to his closet, opening it up and looking through it for something as loud footsteps come closer and closer to his door. Finding a loaded revolver, turning around and facing the door.

Knock, knock, knock. Something begins to knock on the bedroom door as Mark places his camera on the bed, pointing it at the door as he points his gun at it.

“Marrrk. It’s hopeless Mark. We all know what happens next.” The doorknob jiggles as a distorted version of twinkle twinkle little star plays.

“I know what you love.” The voice changes back to Cesar’s voice as the door slowly opens revealing his face.

“I know what makes you human.” The video distorts as Cesar’s face is replaced with what looks like the face of the angel Gabriel.

“I know what you dread.” The voice distorts as Gabriel’s face begins to break apart as eyes open up all over it.

“Nobody is coming for you.”

Mark is heard crying as the door opens more and more. The…thing begins to smile more as it hears this.

“I…have…WON-”

“STOP OR I’LL SHOOT-” BANG.

The footage cuts back to earlier, showing the dashcam of Private Detective Damien Klein’s car, heading home as the radio plays what can be best described as…Smooth Jazz.

Only stopping as he is overtaken by Mark. “The hell?” Damien begins to follow Mark’s car, sensing something off as he gives chase. Pulling up to a stretch of road leading to Mark’s house as yelling is heard in the distance.

He gets out, pulling out his handgun from the glovebox as he walks down the road, dashcam capturing him as he leaves towards Mark’s house.

It cuts back to the…thing getting shot by something off camera, yelling as it falls to the ground.

“You…YOU! WHY ARE YOU HERE?” It yells bursting into Mark’s as Mark fires a shot at it, making it yell out more.

“I came because I saw you on that kid’s car!” Damien yells.

The thing tries to say something but Mark grabs his camera and pushes past the thing in the hall, nearly tripping as the thing roars.

“No matter, it’s already too late to help. I might as well get rid of you along with Mark.” It says as it shapeshifts into a black blob covered in eyes and teeth, laughter filling the hall.

“I have fooled the Shepherds, and I shall kill the angels.”

It laughs as Mark stands up, pointing his gun at the thing with Damien.

“Oh Mark…Do you want to know what Cesar’s last words were?” It chuckles as Mark and Damien stand in silence.

“...OHGODOHGODHELPMEPLEASESOMEONEHELPHELPHELP-” One of its mouths opened up, yelling and screaming from Cesar filled the room…only drowned out by Mark.

“YOU FUCKING BASTARD!” Mark fires at it as the video distorts and glitches out, ending.

Aftermath: On the morning of 01/14/20XX, Damien Klein brought Mark Heathcliff to the hospital, both heavily injured after what Mark claimed to be a fight with a demon. After their wounds were dealt with, Damien brought Mark to his home to fully explain what happened and showed Damien the footage. Mark is currently living with Damien claiming that he doesn’t feel safe at his home. Cesar remains missing.

Time to talk about my headcanons for Henry and Eileen because I like to think about them

I never want to be like “my HCs are canon, TAKE THAT” because honestly most of my headcanons are boring and soft. A lot of these went through my mind when I was writing an embarrassing fanfiction (I am embarrassed by all of my writing).

Henwy:

Boy howdy, does he have problems disorder!

More accurately, the fun cocktail of depression and anxiety. 

Alsooo probably on the spectrum, but never officially diagnosed.

Bear with me, I’ve thought about this guy’s childhood way too much

SO LIKE... I imagine he was a child out of wedlock. Mistress and comfortably wealthy businessman situation. He grew up with his mother until he was seven or so, when she suddenly passed.

(also I imagine he’s Mexican on his mother’s side... some of his voice lines seem to have a bit of a lilt to them so I imagine he grew up bilingual... hasn’t spoken any Spanish in like two decades though)

He moved in with his father after Tragic Mom Death™, who wasn’t into the idea of parenting and threw money at the problem. Getting nannies to raise him, sending him off to boarding schools, etc.

Also, they moved around a lot

Which kinda just caused... a lifelong issue of having trouble connecting with people. :’) Lonely kid.

It is where his love of photography came from, though! Traveling introduced him to a lot of beautiful scenery, and photography was a great way to keep memories.

He is not in contact with his father anymore.

He majored in photography (not at an art specific college though, he probably would have been happier there) but kinda regrets it. It was nice having access to legit photography equipment, but he feels that his degree is useless and he kind of hates commercialized photography, so any job he could get in the field would be selling out hard for him to enjoy.

Instead, his employment is... clerical work. A boring 9 to 5 job where he digitizes documents or something. I don’t think he minds, though--he has enough patience for doing boring repetitive work, as long as his coworkers don’t try to get chummy with him.

I hc him as asexual because same hat, but I don’t think he’s sex-repulsed! He just... doesn’t really get the appeal and gets way more out of cuddling.

He’ll watch just about anything, though mostly for background noise rather than enjoyment.

Eiween:

My HCs for her are a lot more boring just because I think her life was a lot more... average. compared to Henry’s. :| At least before (gestures at sh4) happened.

I don’t think she’s ever lived outside of Ashfield, and she moved to South Ashfield Heights when her parents decided to move away from the city (since she’s been there for like... at least three years apparently?)

The city has a rich history, and she’s a history nut!!! She’s working on getting her master’s degree in museum studies and her end goal is museum curator.

She works as an educator at the local history museum, but not full time because school.

...But since she’s lived in a city with a functioning public transit system for her entire life, she never learned to drive.

Has a lot of friend groups, but it doesn’t take her a lot to consider someone a friend. She probably considered Henry a friend even if they hadn’t really spoken much, just because she liked talking to him and he never seemed annoyed by her.

Definitely pan or bi... she’d probably refer to herself as bi just because she likes the flag’s colors more, lol

Short!!!

I am always conflicted as to whether she should only have the numerical scars post-otherworld or also the broken arm and eye injuries, since it seems like the numbers are the only things that carry through into the real world. At the same time... I like eye patch. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t think they’d ever officially ask each other out, as much as it’d just... happen.

Henry just worries that he’s hanging around her too much and that she’s probably weirded out by him and being polite by letting him stick around.

He’s bad at connecting with people! It doesn’t make sense for her to like him... she’s probably just stuck with him due to the mutual trauma.

And yeah, that’s definitely part of it. They share a unique trauma, and existing safely in each other’s presence is a way to confront it.

...but also? She thought her neighbor was cute already, and that was before he rescued her from an otherworldly death. She likes to spend time with him. :)

He’s. Not. Used to people wanting to spend time with him..... help....

Her friends and family don’t get what she sees in him and it makes him uncomfortable, heeeelp....

But she’ll shut them up!!! He’s kind and she feels safe with him and she could listen to him talk about camera technology for hours.

...And she does, because his voice is comforting,

Eileen’s the big spoon, partially because, even if it’s Henry, she’s still pretty uncomfortable with her back being touched. But also because she’s a hugger.

The ideal endgame for them would be for Eileen to make enough money for them both to live comfortably so Henry can be her photographer househusband who maybe gets his photos published sometimes but never has to make a living taking pictures of food for advertisements or whatever.

(But he’s still driving her everywhere.)

and BONUS: I don’t do gender hcs because I’m a boring old cisgirl and don’t think it’s my place to speculate, but I do like the idea of transman Henry because I can imagine Eileen seeing his top surgery scars and being like !!! what the fuck did Walter do to you to cause those and he just... stares into the camera like he’s in the office...

what if i wrote a fic about dan cain being from western mass. idk if he has a canonical background but ive just now decided that he is from williamsburg. or ashfield. worthington. he went to a regional high school with a graduating class of 100 kids and took his girlfriend on a date to the fair where he won her a stuffed animal at the midway and then carried it around the whole rest of the day. dan cain in 4H. dan cain getting his learners permit as soon as possible so he can be the one to drive everyone to baseball practice in his mom's van.

dan cain going to school in east mass so he can be far enough away from home to feel free but close enough that he can come back for his grandpa's birthday party. after a late night of burying failed experiments he drags herbert to the only restaurant he knows is open and it's a friendlys. dan says "wicked" and gets coffee at dunkin.

Silent Hill: Downpour - 2004 Part 1

In this game we follow Murphy Pendleton, a newly convicted prisoner (number RS 273A) of Ryall State Prison. Due to an arrest of car theft, resisting arrest, and evading the police force.

Murphy grew up in an orphanage run by nuns that ran the place similar St. Maria's Monastery (a place that comes up later, I’ll loop back). It’s also known that after he left the orphanage, he worked in a cinema as a juvenile but also became involved in criminal behavior but eventually stopped, got married, and had a child. Murphy was a happy family man, married to Carol Pendleton in the Brahms (the town not far from Silent Hill) and a loving father to Charlie Pendleton.

Him and Charlie use to enjoy flying kites, playing ball and had a shared passion for cars.

One day when Charlie was walking home from school the family’s neighbor a man named Patrick Napier.

A then unknown pedophile managed to lure Charlie into his van before driving to a remote location, presumably sexually assaulting Charlie and putting him into a brown sack before proceeding to throw Charlie into a lake, drowning him, his body was later pulled out of the water by the police as Murphy looked on in horror and Napier was arrested. The couple's marriage fell apart after the death of their son, due to Carol blaming Murphy for being unable to protect their son from his killer and sent him a letter telling him to never contact her again.

Grief birthed Murphy's desire for revenge that overwhelmed him in his desire to get his hands on Patrick Napier, during a night in February is when he decided to hijack a police patrol car and proceeded to evade arrest for ten hours, before being arrested in Ashfield.

Murphy strikes a deal with George Sewell, a corrupt corrections officer at Ryall, to secretly grant him access to a sequestered Patrick Napier in the prison's shower. After reminding a confused Napier that they used to be neighbors, Murphy savagely beats him. The scene cuts to black before Murphy lands the finishing blow.

Sometime later, following a riot at Ryall, Murphy and a few other inmates are scheduled to be transferred to Wayside Maximum-Security Penitentiary.

Anne Marie Cunningham, a Wayside corrections officer, accompanies them on the transport bus. The bus route passes just outside of eastern Silent Hill. Sanchez another inmate starts to ask Murphy a question but Anne yells at them to stop talking, leading to M.Koons, the bus driver to turn around momentarily to see what the commotion is only to turn back and discover the road gone ending at a sharp drop. Panicked, he swerves the bus, sending the bus hurtling through the road barriers and rolling down the cliff into Silent Hill.

(Okay so this lady also gets like a comic on what her time in Silent Hill was like that I will deff be posting about)

Murphy regains consciousness in a forest next to the wrecked bus and decides to make a run for it. Anne finds him in the wilderness and attempts to apprehend him, but slips into a deep ravine, barely managing to hold on. You can choose to either leave her or assist her but regardless of your choice, she falls into the chasm.

Murphy winding up on the outskirts of Silent Hill, where he meets Howard Blackwood, a mailman. (Howard shows up right at the start in 1867 – Go look at my thing for Silent Hill: Past Lives. Howard himself has been delivering mail in Silent Hill for over a century.)

During their weird brief convo Howard tells Murphy that the roads are all out and that the best way to leave town is via the nearby sky-tram. Suddenly, Murphy glimpses a mysterious, wheelchair-bound creature in the window of a nearby house. Apparently not noticing Howard excuses himself to deliver the rest of his mail.

Puzzled Murphy makes his way to the abandoned Devil's Pitstop diner.

In the kitchen, Murphy discovers a gas leak and tries to turn it off, but accidentally causes a fire instead. He activates the sprinklers to put out the fire, but as the sprinklers fill the room with water, the diner transforms into a water-filled Otherworld enviroment.

Exploring he encounters the Void, which rapidly sucks in everything around it. Realizing he can't fight the entity; Murphy flees and finds his way back in the normal version of the diner.

Back outside he decides to enter an abandoned house, finding another escaped prisoner, Sanchez, attacking what seems to be a helpless woman. Murphy intervenes, but the woman turns out to be a Screamer, which immediately kills Sanchez by slashing his throat.

Murphy attacks the monster and defeats it. Freaked out he looks around and finds a change of clothes and a police badge. The badge is decorated with a black mourning band, indicating that its owner is dead. After changing out of his prison attire, Murphy plays the arcade-puzzle Jail Break and gets a ticket for the sky-tram, which takes him to the Devil's Pit gorge in southeastern Silent Hill.

Here we come past John P. Sater or JP, a depressed former tour guide for the Devil's Pit. JP tells Murphy of an old railcar train in the mines that can take him into the main town. In the caverns, Murphy discovers a newspaper article detailing a train accident in the Devil's Pit that resulted in the deaths of eight children it seems JP's on-the-job drinking as the cause.

Soon after, Murphy finds a suicidal JP hanging over a lookout rail, and the player is given the choice to either console him or taunt him. Again, despite the player's decision, JP jumps to his death. Murphy finds and powers up the railcar, but his ride through the mines turns into the Otherworld version filled with monsters until the train derails, and Murphy becomes unconscious.

**** A Private Gentleman by Heidi Cullinan Review - Lord Wes has a stammer, but his chance first meeting with vision impaired courtesan Michael is a sweet thing. One can only write what he wishes to say, while the other struggles to understand what is written. Michael has a horrendous past, however, and Wes is intimately linked to the events. Their single time together brings on flashbacks that render Michael incapable of continuing his profession and haunt his dreams when he does manage to sleep. This has possibly the most nurturing plot line I’ve ever read, in any genre, but things get much worse before they get better.

** Stormhaven by Jordan L Hawk (Book 3 of the Whyborne & Griffin series) Review - Whyborne & Griffin have been a couple since book one, and Whyborne new his partner had horrific nightmares. In this installment, he finally learns just what happened to Griffin when he was put in the asylum, and how men like them are treated by the medical community.

- Robert Townsend does his level best to see that his family his comfortable, and that matters run smoothly when his elder brother is away. Even if it does mean treading lightly around the stoic and handsome Ian Cameron. When Damen discovers he must work together with Laurent to save both their kingdoms, it leads to more than he might have imagined, but he still finds that reaching freedom is a questionable thing and Laurent does not always play by familiar rules.
