Everyone acting like Erik and Joey never played in the recordings of any Warrant album because fucking Beau Hill decided they weren't good enough to play the solos on DRFSR. They still did all the rhythm parts and played EVERYTHING on every album since. Plus they always nailed it live which to me is more important than on a fucking recording anyways.

I think your collection is incredible because all the Warrant albums with Jani on CD are my dream haha.This year I bought two albums with Jani on vinyl and it was quite expensive (about 50€ per record) since it is a limited edition.

I hope you can find something suitable in this store! Wow the Joan Jett song is a really interesting choice! It has some interesting slides and I did a cover with ghost notes that sounds pretty cool. And I’m sure your performance is even more beautiful.

i did dress like paul it was so fun & i loved when they played war machine & shandi! it was such a good show

oh yea those limited records will get ya. i got the limited coloured pressings of each of the warrant albums that they made (drfsr, cherry pie, dog eat dog, greatest and latest) and they each cost me about $60-80 so it was a lot! except cherry pie which was about $200 before shipping bc that was the signed one. it was worth it though bc i think they only press 2500 of each record!

the joan jett song was pretty fun! i think my school changed the arrangement because they made the bass have the solo instead of the guitars which was good for me but then i listened to the original song and i was like hey... this sounds different...

and yea! i can definitely show you some of the stuff in my collection! the patches are all sewn onto my vest so i can show you the whole vest, but all the picks n stuff i keep safe and stored away so i'll grab pics of those as well

i knowww if i had a time machine i'd set it to 1986 sunset strip start with poison and their first album and just go from there following tours and meeting bands, collecting original merch y'know?

the good thing is i only have to work until 3:30 on christmas eve so i can get a good afternoon's rest before christmas day! i'm working boxing day as well but at least i get public holiday pay for that

i actually started out my glam listening with bon jovi last year! my favourite songs are i'll be there for you, have a nice day, i wanna be loved, wanted dead or alive, bad medicine, it's my life, and also jon's solo song billy get your guns

i still need to listen to some more skid row stuff but rn my favourites are in a darkened room (i'm a sucker for a good power ballad), here i am, get the fuck out, 18 and life, and rattlesnake shake

if i had more free time (which i will hopefully be getting in the new year) i'd restart guitar lessons! hopefully i'll be able to do this in the new year once we (crossed fingers) get a new team member for our store so we all don't have to overwork ourselves as much

i don't really cook just because i'm not rly a foodie or anything but kfc chicken nuggets are a comfort food for me :)

as promised, some Warrant recs, with links! turns out I really love Warrant so so so much and have a lot to say, and would love to talk with you about literally any of this:

there are some live concerts that I massively recommend, such as this from Japan (1991) and from Lafayette (1991). the second is from the tour they did with Trixter and Firehouse, and this particular show is when the 3 bands do the "Fight for your Right to Party" at the end of the show.

I rec the concerts because those will have some of their best songs, plus they have this like amazing and intense stage presence that you can't fully appreciate just by listening to the music (which is of course awesome on its own, but the live stuff is what really sucked me in). some personal favorite songs are "Song and Dance Man", "Mr Rainmaker", "Big Talk", "I Saw Red" (real emotions here, definitely listen to that one, and it sounds totally different and awesome live too!), "Machine Gun", "Down Boys" (iconic), and idk I haven't heard a song yet I don't vibe with, out of the first two albums and most of the third. I am almost certainly forgetting some faves but this is a good start!! some slow, some fast, some wild. ("Machine Gun" isn't in either of the concerts up there bc it's from their third album but here's the music video that checks all my bisexual little boxes.)

Their first three albums are all solidly awesome and with the core classic lineup, though the third one (Dog Eat Dog) is a little different and heavier in sound bc it was getting into the 90s and they wanted to stay strong in the industry. the first two (DRFSR and Cherry Pie) are probably my faves, just because that's the sort of vibe I tend to be looking for when I listen to Warrant, but Dog Eat Dog is still awesome. (both concerts linked above will have songs from both albums!)

they are: Jani Lane (singer, who also did almost all the songwriting, and he did NOT have to go that hard on the ballads but he did and we love him for it); Erik Turner (guitar, mostly rhythm but shares some leads); Joey Allen (aka my icon picture; guitar, mostly lead); Jerry Dixon (bass); Steven Sweet (drums). every one of them is a ten.

This is a strong start!!!! Also I know Lauren made a post recently about good videos to watch as a Warrant fan, and she is 100% right about all of them. MASSIVELY recommend that 1987 concert - it changed my life. and I will happily talk with you about literally anything to do with Warrant!!!!! pls my dms and asks are always available, esp for these loveable idiots!

hi!!! uhh honestly not as much as i’d wanted to. 

bon jovi - i never actually explored their discography and don’t have a lot of their songs in my playlist, but their songs that i do listen to fill me with, idk, that visceral joy that i can’t even describe 

cinderella - tom keifer’s voice is definitely a gem, and some of their acoustic songs have very nice bluesy feeling

warrant - cherry pie is overrated, but i really loved their albums dog eat dog and DRFSR!

hanoi rocks - they’ve got that punkish undertone in their music, and michael monroe is super pretty 

poison - super soft super pop rock, but they’ve got some jams

twisted sister - have only one good album, but god damn, does this album SLAP

also i used to listen to some santa cruz back in the day, they’re modern but also glam

and not glam, but deserves an honorary mention because they also formed in 80s and i just love them:

w.a.s.p!! they’re heavy metal, but their first albums have lots of parallels with glam. however, in my opinion, their best albums they started releasing only since 90s and y’all should go check out their the crimson idol album because it’s so so SO good and changed me as a person

and queensryche!! they’re also heavy metal, and honestly their vocalist is fucking amazing. they’re almost completely unknown in classic rock fandom and i really don’t understand why
