I CANT FUCKING SLEEP SO IMMA JUST POST THE SCU COUNCIL DRAWINGS AND HOPE TO THE GODS IT LETS ME REST.
Erm I really like pantheons and shit so uh. I made lore
Essentially each council member are gods similar to the Aspects from APOTHEOSIS, except instead of aspects of humanity they’re aspects of the universe. They each are gods of their respective campaign-worlds, the other council members can only interact with them through the creation of their player characters. I made three designs for these fuckers- their initial godhood form during the Hardest Difficulty Video, their present forms after their respective churches & worlds have been established, & their Higher Divine Form that’s basically just their fursonas (except Slimecicle since he’s just like. A Slime Hybrid already so now he’s just Cooler Magical Slime Guy yipey!)
Much like the aspects, the Council Members are referred to by their domains instead of their original names. In the case of Condi he has a secondary name, Yonder; in the case of Charlie, he can be referred to by either Fortune or Misery- more on that in a bit
the gribble -> Bloom
🍃bro is in charge of the biomes of the Overworld, including the tools and weapons that are crafted using its resources
🍃Bloom is ONLY in charge of the Flora, NOT the Fauna. The creatures of the Overworld are owned by Evolution
🍃weather phenomenon and natural disasters are also his strong suit
🍃MYTH TIME!!! Bloom hasn’t learned to change into his Higher Divine form until after his first Fall, thus his bright red and black wings were never appreciated. After he arose again, the ash of the Nether stained his wings and hair, turning them a deep grey. Many birds of the Overworld had grieved his loss, so after his return most of them had rolled in the ashes that fell from his skin in tribute- thus the Grey Parrot was born.
🍃he grew an affinity for the sea after the creation of his first universe (Mana; Riptide), thus a majority of his time is spent in the Overworlds ocean, where his presence is spotted through the whirling winds of a hurricane.
Condifiction. -> Yonder
🔥god of the Beyond- any of the upper and lower realms in any universe belongs to him, including;
🔥The Nether
🔥The End
🔥The Spirit World (prime defenders)
🔥The Chaos Zone (prime defenders)
🔥The Faewilds (riptide)
🔥The Celestial Plane (apotheosis)
🔥The Land Between Time (prime defenders)
🔥Yonder is also in charge of all the interdimensional creatures and entities that live in these domains. Potions are.. also technically his deal since to make them one must acquire interdimensional items such as blaze powder
🔥the boundaries between worlds and the magic to traverse them also fall under his rule
🔥Yonder has a spear called the Aether Piercer, a blade strong enough to even cut through the fabric of reality. It is the strongest weapon in the entire multiverse, and the boys use it for their “dnd campaigns”
🔥he is also called the Quartz Dragon
🔥 FUN FACT! He actually has TWO outfits- the Nether Regalia & The End Regalia. However my stupid ass drew the End one first despite the fact that the Nether outfit is his main one (molten lava dress and cape with deep reds and brilliant whites & gold). That’s why the end suit doesn’t really match his dragon form, but I ran out of time so I couldn’t draw it out. Also im never gonna use these designs most likely so honestly it doesn’t matter but STILL FUCJ IM SORRY :[
the bibbl -> Evolution
📡ok this one was hard to figure out but bear with me
📡Evolution is the protector of all living creatures and time- he can see the past, present, & future, and is in charge of the development of every single organism that can breathe. Humans, especially fall under his command.
📡Evolution is also the patron of technology, society, and history
📡he can personally control how mobs & humans evolve and adapt
📡his higher divine form is usually a strange gryphon like creature, but he can just about change into whatever form he desires. He is the only God who can truly shapeshift with no limitations- Yonder & Bloom only have their Higher Divine Form, while F&M is still pretty visibly Slime no matter what form he takes. Speaking of
the slible-> Fortune/Misery
🎰the god of many things, but can all be simplified into one word- Luck. Everything has a risk, and F&M can make it happen
🎰gambling, yes, is a part of his domain, as it involves a risk of either a win or a loss
🎰destiny & fate are intertwined with his powers, due to how extremely fluid they may be
🎰harvest & agriculture TECHNICALLY are his thang as well, since he’s not really in charge of the PLANTS per say but rather the possibility of either a plentiful harvest OR a miserable famine
🎰F&M have two different names for two different occasions- Fortune, for instances of prosperity, & Misery, for instances of disparity.
🎰he is also called The Great Gambler, Magician Of Chance, He Who Reaps, The Debt Collector, The Slime Lich, and The Nightmare King
🎰he’s like a Lich but not dead lol. More on that later
[ FORTUNE ]
🎰wealth
🎰dreams
🎰arcane wisdom and enchantments
🎰skills in crafting and smelting
[ MISERY ]
🎰nightmares
🎰plague
🎰curses
🎰loss of control
🎰debt
🎰punishment and penance
🎰yeah so haha if someone has cheated and exploited their way to fortune then Misery with a capital M comes down and basically sucks their life force out and turns them into goo, which is what he uses to sustain himself like a Lich. Luckily for him, greedy men spawn like rabbits
Some extra notes for the council in general plus some insight in how their religions work
☀️Yonder and Bloom are both patrons of Travelleds, Adventurers, and All Who Voyage On. However, Bloom offers protection from the world itself such as wild animals and weather phenomenon , while Yonder helps ease the passage itself. Basically Bloom helps people not die in a storm while Yonder focuses on getting to the destination in the first place I.e. not getting lost in the fucking woods
☀️Evolution y F&M are conceptual gods while Bloom y Yonder are more physical. Bloom y Yonder are everywhere, omniscient and omnipresent, encapsulating the world around us- meanwhile Evolution and D&M control the hidden sacred systems of the world such as time and luck/magic
☀️Evolution and F&M have highly selective religious followings, only specific followers are trained and perfected to wield the power of their gods domains. In the same vein, Evilution and F&M have two symbols- one for prayer and one for summoning. Unlike the other two gods who just have one for both of these purposes, the powers of time and chance are far too chaotic in nature to be possessed by many. Instead of being able to talk to plants and go to a funny new world, the highest followers of the Conceptual Gods can literally harness time itself and perform the Ultimate Spells that could level cities- thus not only are these followers specially picked and trained, but in Eder to actually USE them they must first reviver a blessing by their respective gods which requires a summoning. This requires their summoning sigil which not only requires EXTREMELY rare items BUT are also forbidden without express permission from elders. The summoning sigils are kept secret, sharing the sigil to others is punishable by death. The symbol for prayer is used to just represent the Concptual Gods following, much like the symbols for the other gods are used to represent them as well. the Pjysicak Gods need no summoning since they’re technically all around us soooo-
☀️slimecicle, bizly, and grizzly haveANOTHER outfit for their other campaigns (blood in the bayou, wonderlust, and total monster kill) BUT once again I had No More time Left so I sorta just Didn’t draw them my bad homeboy

Playing a Heroic Necromancer in DnD 5e
Necromancy is one of the most evil-skewed powers in just about any fantasy setting. However, unless you're running a villain campaign, most DnD parties are made up of heroes who won't like having an evil character in their midst. You want to play a necromancer, but you also realize that DnD is a very collaborative game. So, how do you make your party more amicable towards the thought of you raising a family? Here's some possible backstory ideas that can fuel a heroic necromancer for your next campaign.
The Scholar
The taboo, illegal, or forbidden nature of studying necromancy drew your interest. Whether you studied with a secret sect, uncovered a grimoire of necromantic magic, or made a deal with a devil for profane knowledge, you were driven by a desire to study magic. The sparse availability of necromancy forces you to remain mobile, making party formation easy. You may be hunted by law enforcement, clerics of Kelemvor, or other necromancers angry at you for stealing their arcane secrets. And now that you know what so many tried to hide from you, it's your choice how to use it.
The Chronicaller
History is written by the victors, the rich, and the powerful. But every life holds valuable knowledge and secrets. Ancient bones know things lost to time. Knowledge that was never written down. Stories which have not been spoken in centuries. Opinions of the common people during a historical event. Experience with phenomenon that can no longer be encountered. The Chronicaller wishes to unearth the secrets of the past already laid to rest.
The Physician
The Frankenstein of Necromancers wishes to understand the medical and scientific elements of life and death itself. To understand the body by inspecting it and digging into it. They may study how to cure diseases or how to spread them. Try to find a way to slow or even halt the slow decomposition that turns the body elderly and frail.
The Thayan Rebel
Once a Red Wizard of Thay, you have left Thay and the Red Wizards, letting your hair grow back slowly as you seek to expand your arcane talents beyond the limitations of Thayan conquest and oppression. The Red Wizards and Szas Tam become personal antagonists for your character and party as a result.
The Undead
Be they a Revenant, a Dhampir, a Vampire, a Lich, or something else, they are already imbued with undead power. They simply embrace their anti-life energy already flowing through them, channeling a power most others would avoid. You may be undead, but you desire to staunchly defend the living from other undead who are less compassionate.
The General
A wizard with a soldier background and optional martial multiclassing, your undead horde is your army of loyal soldiers, putting their lives on the line again and again to serve their general. An Oathbreaker 7/wizard 6 adds your CHA mod to undead within 10 ft, and proficiency bonus to all undead you control. But the steep dip into paladin locks you out from higher level spell slots for stronger undead minions.
The Noble
Similar to the general, the undead serve you out of loyalty, not fear or force. But where the general commands their soldiers, the Noble may command their staff of servants, their commoner citizens, their knights and soldiers, or their own noble ancestors. The Noble utilizes their horde to fulfil the services and duties of their noble house. They're just as likely to conscript skeletons to pave a road or build a bridge as they are to form a wave of zombies to break up a smuggling ring in their city.
The Immortal Guardian
You have or want to become immortal not out of power hunger or greed, but to protect the innocent forever as an unwavering guardian against evil. Everyday people can't protect themselves, and even legendary heroes die eventually. Only an immortal protector can be an eternal defender of the people.
I hope if nothing else, this gave you some ideas for some good and noble necromancers you could bring to your next table. Did I miss any Heroic concepts that you thought of? Let me know, and help make the world a more morbid place.

Seeing others thirst over your male characters makes me feel better since I thought I was the only one. Now tell me about this new guy with the scars I need to know for sinful reasons
Oh yeah, no. You definitely aren’t alone with this and I’m honored for that ♡!!! Bahaha yes yes, I can tell you about Aedric! Please enjoy xoxo and thank you for the love ♡ ♡ ♡ I added pieces with Zevlor so you can get a feel for his character as well.
Aedric was actually created pre Lofn since he was introduced fairly early in our DnD campaign. He and his little brother were orphans that were taken in by Lynnania (Lofn’s mother the Queen). Aka her first two children despite not being of her blood. Unfortunately Aedric’s little brother passed.
When it comes to Zevlor, the two had a very rocky start and Aedric never liked the idea of his sister being with some washed up hellrider that couldn’t even protect his own people… During Lofn’s childbirth, as she was struggling to give birth and her screams could be heard, Aedric was pacing next to her angrily.
As Zevlor rushed into the chambers to be with his beloved, Aedric immediately drew his blade and held the sharp edge against Zevlor’s throat, growling- threatening, “Should she die, I will ensure you spend every waking moment haunted by the knowledge that her blood is on your hands thanks to that child you sowed inside her.”
It was only when the two went into battle and had to cover one another did Aedric begin to trust and respect Zevlor. And when Zevlor eventually killed Aradin that’s when Aedric finally accepted Zevlor. Hehehe ooops spoiler.
One time when Zevlor returned back to the castle, his form bloodied, his men trailing behind in a similar state. Aedric leaned against a wall, eyes narrowed as he listened... Watching as Lofn demanded what happened.
Zevlor’s gaze flickered to one of his men, his jaw clenched, an arm encircling Lofn as his other curled into a fist, “you fool! We were all nearly slaughtered because of your incompetence!”
Aedric pushed off the wall and quickly swept Lofn up, carrying her out from the room before locking her out. The air was thick as he turned, his eyes dark as he strode towards the accused man. The sound of his blade leaving its sheath before striking down the man that nearly got Zevlor killed…
Due to being raised by Lynnania and spending much of his time with her before her actual children were born he took on many of her traits. He’s ruthless, cold blooded, and does not hesitate to eliminate those he sees as obstacles. His actions often include lethal force, whether in battle or political maneuvering.
He tends to operate in shades of gray, making decisions that can be remorseless but always has his family & the people of Thay in mind. The people of Thay recognize Aedric as an incredibly skilled and deadly warrior as well as a capable diplomat, having help negotiate a peace treaty with a neighboring kingdom.
Aedric is known for his stoicism and dry wit- he often comes across as gruff and serious, but has moments where he’s humorous and has his guard down where he reveals deeper emotions.
Lofn and Aedric are extremely close, for example, when Lofn was little she often sought Aedric and Signa (her eldest blood brother) out. She would always cling to Aedric’s leg whenever they walked around the palace, and at times she’d even step on his toes so that he could walk around with her on his feet. During nights where terrible dreams haunted her she was usually found dragging Signa to Aedric’s room so that she could crawl in bed with him and have them both read her stories until she fell back asleep (though tired they didn’t mind doing this for her <3)
After proving himself worthy, Aedric gained the blessing of and became the rider of the third largest dragon in Thay, the Ancient Black Dragon.

The “Adventure Time is a dnd game” is one of my favorite cartoon theories so heres some of my headcanons about it:
Finn, Jake, and Marceline are the only consistent players, PB is a dmpc, and bmo is also an npc but when Finn and Jake’s players’ little sibling wants to play they pull out his character sheet. Marceline is dating the DM which is why she was the only one to read the entire lore document and use it in her character.
Flame Princess and Huntress Wizard are also PCs played by the same person, who is also Finn’s players’ irl gf. She tried getting into it after her boyfriend convinced her that it would be fun, but didn’t really like it. But they already committed to a plot with FP and Finn being together so they made an agreement that Finn would take a moral nosedive to resolve it. Around a year she decided to try again with a new character that she liked playing much much more.
The game wrapped up when The DM and Marceline’s player had to go off to college. All the players got together for one last session fighting against an ancient evil being named GOLB that the dm pulled from her ass at the last second.
Distant Lands were continuations of the story set in the same universe. BMO was Finn’s player setting up a game for his little sister and one of his friends, Obsidian was a surprise oneshot by Finn and Jake’s players as a gift for Marceline and the DM (who played PB as a pc for this) when they came back from college for the summer. Wizard City was the DM setting up a game for her college friends. And Together Again was a game the DM tried to set up online for Finn and Jake’s players years later. Marceline’s player played the villain for this one.
Because Together Again actually worked out well, the DM decided that maybe they should pick up the game again online, even just for a few sessions, but wasn’t sure what to base it off of. Then one of the players brought up that time they drew their characters genderswapped and the Fionna and Cake campaign. Marceline’s player co-dmed. Huntress Wizard’s player decided to come back but she didn’t want to play the character she made and wanted to focus more on rping and less on combat, because thats what she really liked about the game. So the DM slid Simon’s character sheet across the table and she said “understood.” And she prepared to do the most heartwrenching roleplaying any player had ever seen.
Marceline’s player would also go on during college to start her own campaign with her friends about alien rock women and their little human brother.
Finn’s player starts a much shorter and less well remembered campaign about a team of space faring warriors with a half bug half cat as a pet.
Jake’s player starts a campaign set in the far far future where his favorite recurring npc is a morally challenged robot. (He also played a game before adventure time with the same DM with a pirate theme where he played an angry sea captain with an obsession with candy)
And BMO’s player many many years later would start a campaign about a magical robot girl and her pet alien cat dog thing.

another lore dump for my dnd campaign :)
sister wizard-demigoddesses teitoca (on the left) and mao (on the right.) teitoca was the goddess of chalk, and mao was the goddess of salt. they grew up during a time of strife, with their secluded home-village of lo'kureen threatened by the machinations of another, much older goddess: ruee, the goddess of blood. ruee had spent about 20 years prior to the girls' birth leading a crusade on the eastern coast of tunturioma, turning the land inhospitable to all but the hemoids over which she ruled. with starvation rapidly becoming a problem in lo'kureen, teitoca and mao were chosen to lead the townsfolk on a pilgrimage to find a new home.
teitoca, the goddess of chalk, collaborative magic, and ceremony. four years older than mao, teitoca was decisive, charismatic, but decidedly cowardly. she was the first to propose evacuating lo'kureen, suggesting that they seek a safe, hidden area in which to settle. about six months into their journey, by which point already had many lo'kureenians perished to the perils of the road, the walking town discovered a small, angular, concrete shack in the middle of the jungle they were passing through. this shack stood inconspicuously above ground, betraying neither its origin nor the sprawling bunker-complex buried underneath it. teitoca knew instantly upon descending into the bunkers that it was exactly what she had been looking for. she moved in that day, cultivating the underground community with her magic for years to come, christening the newly founded settlement "dur'elesh."
mao, the goddess of salt, abjurative magic, and resilience. more cunning and ambitious than her older sister, she devoted herself at a young age to the practice of battle magic, quickly rising the ranks in their town to become an official guardian of lo'kureen by the time she turned 17. around this time, with ruee's dark magic beginning to overtake the surrounding lands, mao took up the helm and started teaching defensive magic to the townspeople to ensure they could defend themselves. once lo'kureen was evacuated, this preparation proved invaluable, drastically reducing much of the risk of travel. upon discovering dur'elesh, a massive rift suddenly formed between mao and teitoca. despite being an optimal location to remain undetected and stay safe, living in dur'elesh would mean being near-entirely severed from the outside world. despite teitoca's pleas to stay, mao left dur'elesh, continuing west. during the continued travel, mao grew ever-stronger and ever more adventurous, establishing a distinct sect of warlocks who drew immense abjurative power from her. she and her group roamed for almost 5 more years, before finally discovering a frigid swath of snowy land at the northern tip of the continent, on the opposite side of a treacherous mountain range. it was here she founded the town of "mejya'nul." with mao's warlocks to keep them warm, the people of mejya'nul slowly developed the city into a thriving bastion against the cold.
#this ended up being 100x longer than i expected and that's okay <3#tunturioma#mao#teitoca#dnd#illustration

New Model Mercy from Myrmidon LLC.
Marcy turned into a robot in recent events of the campaign so now i get gender envy from my own dnd character even more than usual
inspiration talk under the cut
Big one is pretty obviously Signalis, I couldn’t resist when her colour scheme is already heavy on reds blacks and silvers
but the other big thing is the danger days by mcr album cover. I was trying to give her some design parallels to my other OC, and during sketches i accidentally drew her torso with the bottom legs of the spider. naturally i did the. normal person thing. and i listened to all of danger days and conventional weapons and put some quotes from them up there that if i explained why they apply to marcy might take forever. In fact if i explained why she even turned into a. robot. we’d die before i finished

Do you have any Jai+Damian bromance hcs?
😂😂😂
Jai is the forever DM for the boys DnD campaigns. Damian had a specific sketchbook and drew all the best scenes/favorite NPCS for Jai’s birthday
They both love anime and are usually chatting about new ones they’ve watched
Jai actually made Damian some cool watercolor paints using plants, which Damian really loves
They have DOMINATED during multiplayer games, especially sharpshooter games
Everyone is good about the other’s dietary restrictions/preferences, but Jai loves finding vegetarian Koren recipes for Damian to try
I think Jai is a big reminder to Damian that not all of them are rich. Like he’ll talk about the tiny room he and Irey shared, Damian asked why they didn’t move into another room, and Jai said something like “Hard to do that when your parents can’t afford a bigger apartment.”

Couple of my arts based on my friend's D&D campaign (or TTRPG) that we are playing online!
My friend has been creating and writing his original steampunk style world called "Wellistarm" for a couple of years now. He recently started organizing DnD-based games that I and my other friends actively play in.
Here are our playable characters, from left to right: Hugo, a quiet reclusive engineer (played by me); Arthur, a strange old man from the forest; Liam, a very suspicious street magician; Relofia, a young and naive adventurer; and Noret, an aristocrat and chemical engineer (with sometimes dark thoughts...)
They make a very interesting group, creating a lot of problems and funny moments! I've sketched a couple of memes that I'll probably show you later if you want ;)
I also drew a couple of Game Master's NPCs that we met during the sessions, such as a funny mafia boss or a kind lost girl:
If you know Russian, you can learn about the world of Wellistarm in all its details here:

Hey wait where ELSE are you hiding art from me on???
asghahda LOL I'm sorry!! This side blog is for my DnD (Pathfinder actually!) character Marwind :D;;
During the pandemic we started a campaign led by @dragonwithgoggles who is amazing DM and just knows how to enable his whole party lol It was also my first time playing in a DnD campaign and I was super duper excited and nervous! :D;; Marwind developed as we played and he became such a huge inspiration for me. I drew him... a lot ...and I still do even if our sessions are so rare nowadays! I didn't want to flood my main blog with Marwind spam so I made a side blog, like the good ol days of side blogs xD;;
I started to throw ideas for potential story for him cause I super enjoy his character and I know our campaign will eventually end :D;;; but that's for future me for I have too much on my plate now!

For the Artist ask things bestie, I would like to know 4, 11 and 26. ♥️ This is a THREAT !!
HI NOOT!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Answers under the cut!
4. Favorite character/subject that's a bitch to draw
Hollow Knight characters. You'd think they'd be simple but nooooooo, the horns are SO hard and proportions never look quite right. Either them or Hau Thor, who's design was made exclusively to kill me.
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what?
Depends on the time of day. At night, it's music. Recently it's been a lot of Fallout Boy or P!aTD, but musicals are also a huge thing though I bet you know that from Riftcord.
If it's during the day, I'll put a video essay or Spigg video in the background. Music is very rare during the day, but if it is playing, it's almost always a video game OST or a Moti cover of it. And then if I'm drawing in public, I don't listen to anything but the background noise of the area I'm in.
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended?
Hard to say. I don't really get feedback on drawings, so other people having different interpretations of it isn't something I get. Or, I intentionally draw it to be misleading/have different interpretations, but that's mostly for art that has to do with a story/project, such as Dnd campaigns or a certain Ahit fanfiction.
That being said, there's been a couple drawings where the end result is so wildly different that I interpret it differently than how I wanted to. I once drew some art of an OC, Kit, who's for a superhero story I worked on with some friends. It was supposed to be a badass, saving-the-day kinda thing, and ended up the exact opposite: She ended up looking extremely villainous. It worked out though, because that inspired me to write a villain arc for her and it's to this day one of my favorite villain characters I've made.
Thanks for the ask!! Ily Noot, have a cookie 🍪
#Noot <3#Marci Answers#Ugh. Could ramble about Kit for ages man#I haven't worked on that story in a while#But I still don't love her any less. She's my girl

dnd campaign stuff is Happening tomorrow btw. so nephrite (my grave cleric) has been kinda taking the position from day one as the Person who will do the hard stuff. especially as the oldest pc for most of the game. so she's been the one executing their foes, dealing with the bodies, making tough calls like that ok. and another thing to know about her is that she worships Death & feels like she betrayed her god by surviving a fatal wound. right
we've been finding and dealing with a series of area bosses for the majority of the campaign. so far 2 of them we've come to an agreement with bc they're reasonable people. but when we got to the third major city, the guy in charge there has been running it as their personal playhouse, has a museum full of tortured people who slighted them, and also kidnapped the party's loved ones to try and force us to make a deal. we did kill them & in the aftermath again neph made the hard moves (mercy killing the tormented people, including a former ally who's been recaptured twice, displaying the boss's body IN the museum). AND then she had to put down her undead former spouse. so she's really gotten into the mindset of She Has To Do These Things. and still feeling like her god is disgusted with her, everything she's doing is to try and restore them & earn their love again
(side note: in this campaign setting, people have been unable to die since the current ruler claims to have killed Death. so the fact that our party Can kill is a big deal)
last session, we met up with a Life-worshipper (basically the heirarchy that now rules the continent) who opened by saying she wanted to help our party, that the way things are right now is bad and people are suffering. Great :D except she wasn't offering anything helpful, and just kept coming back to asking our party to pause on their quest, sit down and figure out how to deal with the repercussions if we successfully take out Astraea (big boss) & repeatedly trying to get neph to consider the hypothetical that they'll fail to restore her god
and like. nephrite is very much driven 100% by this goal. she can't let herself conceive of a world in which she fails, especially because then all the shit she's done to get the party here will have been meaningless. & furthermore life lady is now proposing that if they can't fix death, her and her party (as people able to kill) can be employed by the state to perform euthanasia basically. when neph is a GRAVE cleric, not Death, she believes in the natural order and hates killing, she's been doing it to further the quest & save her party from having to be their executor. right
so this argument's getting more and more heated. lifegirl asking what neph's gonna do if they DO bring back death and suddenly everyone's starving and dying, nephrite getting angry enough to say it won't be her problem (due to her backstory of cheating death, she believes that success will let it finally catch up with her), lifegirl calling her selfish & neph saying she doesn't give a shit what a Lifebringer thinks about her. & it's getting worse and nephrite interrupts life girl to say something like "i'm a cleric, my god needs me, can you try to understand for a second why i would never agree with your plans, you don't believe we can succeed but i have faith" to which life girl is like "faith ain't shit without action". SO the last thing that happened last session is nephrite drew her weapon
we are gonna be jumping right back in to that moment at our session tomorrow. and i've thought a lot about this, bounced stuff off the dm and i feel like. okay.
nephrite doesn't actually trust her party anymore for one. our druid did a big aoe spell during our last boss fight that nearly killed her. our rogue was revealed to be lying about infiltrating the lifebringers - she WAS a lifebringer and was imprisoned for unrelated reasons. our fighter is kinda a centrist & although he wants our quest to succeed, it's not with the same drive as neph does. and at the start of the session, i'm 100% sure they're going to try and talk her down. and at this point i can't imagine a way that works
(especially since they HAVE talked her down from a murder once - when we went to the torture museum, neph felt very strongly like she couldn't leave without killing the guy running it & freeing/mercy killing the people there. because it felt like an affront to both the natural order and her god. neph is So affected by when it feels like her god is being insulted - part of why she attacked life girl. so the gist is neph feels like she's made a concession to the party once, and now they won't do the same in return to support her)
so all this is gonna be dredged up next session. & probably culminating in something like "it's great that the rest of you have people you love that'll be there for you even if we fail. i don't. i have nothing left in this world that's worth anything, the only way i can ever see her again is if my god forgives me, i CAN'T give up now. and if you're not with me, you're against me"
(side note because the cheating death backstory: neph's fellow cleric who she was in love with even though she was legally married (but left them to join the church like 80years ago). new sentence. the two of them were fighting some undead or whatever at the moment that Astraea did whatever she did to end death. specifically: nephrite died, and the other cleric sacrificed herself to bring her back. like moments before the end of death. after which point nephrite no longer felt the presence of her god, and by the time she mostly recovered from her injuries the rest of her church was wiped out. so she feels like she offended her god, and the only way she'll ever get their favour back is to save the world. there's simply no way she would ever choose to give up)
and also important is that nephrite is Wrong. she's just stubborn and angry and has way too much survivor's guilt. she DOES care what happens to the rest of the world if she succeeds on her quest, she DOES want to help people, but she also can't let herself doubt for even a moment or she's gonna break down.
so she's just going to be defensive if the rest of the party try to convince her to calm down, she'll attack them for asking her to disregard her faith yet again, that they've lied to her and kept important things from her when she's been basically honest with them in turn. and my gut feeling is that she's either gonna die or leave the party at the end of all this, it's just a matter of whether she manages to take out life girl on the way which will have CONSEQUENCES for the rest of the team
:D
