Hi :) my name is Elizabeth. I'm a swiftiemom. In 2013, @taylorswift made my daughter's dream come true 💞 I wanted to do something special as my thank you to Taylor. I decided to write a book (a memoir). I'd never written a book before, and it took me a long time because of my illness (2yrs!!). I didn't do it for profit, in fact my family donates ALL the profits, + we give away free books to anyone who'd like one. I did it to say "Thank You". To share with the world how truly kind Taylor is, and to pay forward her kindness to help others. Amazingly it has now won 4 awards & I hear from people all around the world about how it is inspiring them as they battle illness or adversity. This makes my heart happy. My hope is that it makes Taylor proud, and that it is a help to you or someone you love. If you'd like to read #DreamAccomplished, the kindle version is free on Amazon until 10/1. Pls use the above link. If you are reading this past Oct you can find more info at http://www.dreamaccomplished.com or @ourtaylorstory on Twitter, or you can email me and I'll send 1 to you. My email is [email protected] :) From my family to yours, we hope you all have a wonderful day, ❤e :)

Cocijo has been awakened...well, kind of
Last night saw the successful launch of my first ever book.  As I searched the web for someone to help make my dream a reality I stumbled upon some amazing people:
I would like to thank my editor Amber Byers of Tadpolepress.com for her spot-on corrections. The guidance provided was delivered to me in an extremely professional manner and resulted in a book of which I am extremely proud.
A special thank you to Sue Campbell for the design and production of Awakening Cocijo. An absolute joy to work with and a true professional!  The amazing book cover in previous posts was her design.  https://suecampbellgraphicdesign.com/

So incredibly thankful for those who push me everyday and are there through my darkest times of self doubt. Yesterday was a HUGE step for me in realizing one part of a dream that is quickly transitioning from a dream to a plan. For those of you dreamers out there, don't just dream! These dreams can become our reality if we not only dream, but make them our plan as well! #dreamer #plan #piyoinstructor #bigstep #hugegoal #goalmet #dreamaccomplished #steponetowhereiwannabe #soexcited #realized #inspirationalquotes #inspiration #inspire #engage #lead #turnthosedreamsintoreality #goals #motivation

Chapter One:
You know what, Mom? Taylor always makes me feel better.
Tumblr media
( @taylorswift @taylorswift13 )
"We wanted to say ‘Thank You, Taylor’, to you, & all we know who helped our daughter, Page, on our mission to meet you; Charlie, B., Mr. Clarke, Erika, Andrea & Scott Swift, Craig T., your neighbor on the right and to any others who helped that we’ve accidentally forgotten or never knew were involved. Thank you all so much! From Cleveland, Ohio, to Nashville, Tennessee, on to Omaha, Nebraska and back to Cleveland…. This adventure has given us something happy to focus on, and you’ve put smiles and hope back into our lives that we will remember always. Thank You! We wish you all the best! -Sincerely, Elizabeth, Marc and Page Gross”
That note accompanied a thank you letter we sent to singer, Taylor Swift, just after our adventure ended. An adventure that reaffirmed in us the goodness of others, and rekindled our enthusiasm to go for and accomplish our dreams. An adventure that turned our lives around, put my focus back on track and one that we will never forget. An adventure that started with the simple phrase, “You know what, Mom? Taylor always makes me feel better”.
My, then, 8 year old daughter Page, said this to me in the fall of 2012. She said it simply and without thinking. A smile softly lit up her face as she passed me on her way through the kitchen. I stopped washing dishes and thought that that smile was the first one I’d seen from her in quite a long while.
Standing there as I listened to her quietly singing in the other room, I thought back over our life and realized that she was right. Ever since Page was about 6, Taylor’s music and the closeness Page felt with her, did cheer her up whenever she was down. And down we definitely all were. The lives of my family and I, had been on an emotional and physical roller coaster ever since we’d heard my doctor say, “Elizabeth, You have cancer”.
That news had come out of the blue, and I realized that even though I felt like my life was spinning out of control, that I wasn’t the only one that news had affected.
My husband Marc, and our daughter Page, had been right there with me all this time, helping me cope. Navigating with me through multiple doctor visits, holding my hand as I endured painful, nerve wracking tests, traveling with me cross country to see specialists, waiting and praying with me as I endured bone marrow biopsies, surgeries, and chemo. Keeping up with the house, picking up my slack, sitting quietly with me when I needed to rest and spending many, many hours reading, researching, and trying to help me answer unanswerable questions.
This had become our life. Yet they’d never complained. They’d tried to keep me positive and just adjusted their lives to our new reality. Our life now was so much more different than it was just a few years ago.
Page’s smile reminded me of all those happier, normal days when Page would wear her hot pink cowboy boots and a salmon colored t-shirt with the face of Taylor Swift on the front. We’d found that shirt one day at a garage sale, and it instantly became her favorite. Each morning we’d get ready for the day and out she’d strut. T-shirt on, boots on, hands on her hips, heel down, toe up and grinning. Marc and I would look at her and then at each other and smile. Wash after wash it was her favorite. By the time it no longer fit, that picture of @taylorswift was almost gone.
I realized, hearing her softly singing, that Page was still turning to Taylor. She was wearing different Taylor Swift shirts now, but she’d lost that happy pep to her step. So, in that quick moment in passing, thinking about those happier days, I decided right then and there that I was going to do something special to cheer my family up.
Pulling out the kitchen chair I sat down to think of what I could do. Unfortunately thinking about those good moments, only intensified the changes in our life and brought back into sharp focus my memories about when we’d found out the worst....
(thank you for reading along with me today 😊 i hope you have enjoyed this first chapter of my memoir #DreamAccomplished: A Story of Cancer, A Mother's Love & Taylor Swift. This writing is © and published. For more info pls visit http://www.dreamaccomplished.com )
