Thank you, may I have another?
Well, it only took my entire life to work up the courage to write a book.  Now that I'm here with other writers, I feel...………..belonging. In other words....I've started the journey towards writing another book, and I have no idea as to how long it's going to take

Tuning out or tuning in?
I need to start reading a new book!  I have several downloaded and ready to go, just need to choose one.   I've found the news to be way too stressful and depressing.  When this happens, I personally like to turn my attention to something that will consume my imagination...binge watching entire seasons of shows or, lately, just reading a book.

Did I just do that?
Well, Its official!  I am attending my first writing retreat!  I am super excited and ready to meet a bunch of really interesting people; people that share my passion.
Yes, I have written and published a book; but I am aware that I am a work in progress.  One cannot climb a mountain if they are already on top!  Ascension requires work, and sometimes, failure.
Glasses raised to chasing your dreams!!!!

Reflection
We had storm after storm here in America's southwestern region.  We've had rain that's all but defied the laws of nature.  People have lost their homes and even their lives...I believe this calls for inner reflection.  The type of inner reflection that reminds us that while we think of ourselves as the caretakers of this planet, we are NOT in control!!! As we stop to remember those we lost and celebrate the lives of the living and of the deceased.  We gather strength from the environment that we must now realize we are merely a part of.  Whether you believe in religion, natural selection, both , or maybe something different, admit to yourself that life is a fragile and beautiful miracle. I am reminded by the flowers blossoming, seemingly greeting me as I walk out of my front door, that life continues to flourish despite what we have lost.  I am also reminded that our environment is not ours alone; It belongs to every living thing on this planet. This is not where I preach to you about global warming or of contributing to the greater good of our world.  This is where I encourage you to soak in your surroundings and to make an attempt to do something, anything, positive.  Just take a few moments, breathe it in...……………………………………………………………………………………….…...Juarez

attending something I hope will inspire me
Now that I have written my first book, I believe I need a bit of re-centering.  Sales have been low and uninspiring :(  So, in an effort to improve myself, I am planning to attend a retreat for writers.  I am hoping to find my way to and through this.
It just seems as though every outlet claiming to help aspiring authors seeks only to exploit them.  If there’s anything out there that’s real, let me know.

Ending friendships
Has anyone besides me felt the need to end a friendship?  My best friend of over 20 years got upset with me months ago.  I have tried to no avail to make amends.  I think I’ll just take the easy way out and send him a text tomorrow to tell him I’m done.  If he’s not over it yet....apparently we weren’t that close anyway.
It’s been weighing heavy on my mind for weeks what to do.  I’m just done stressing over it.  If he ever feels the need, he knows where I am...

Petunias
The Maya and Inca believed that the scent of petunias had the power to ward off underworld monsters and spirits. Their flower-buds were bunched together for magical drinks.
Petunias will only thrive where there is "positive energy" and will not grow in places where there is "negativity"

Working, working, working...
I get up before 6am to get ready for work.  I put in a full day, day after day.  The relationships made through a lifetime of schooling, soldiering, working, playing and loving have all left their marks on never-ending brain activity.  My mind fires, fires and fires some more, leaving me exhausted from all of this arguably useless information. I decided in December to finally quit messing around and put those menacing (yes I said it) thoughts to work!  The decade I sat on my outline made way for my never ending fear of failure...Maybe I should put myself to the test.  Could write a cohesive story?  Perhaps attempting to do so was better than letting my thoughts haunt me even further. Well, I did it!  Awakening Cocijo is no mere book; Awakening Cocijo is a dream...my dream. The story still echoes through my mind as I look for a reason to write a second part to the story.  Please...please...join my journey and tell me if the story I have written is deserving of a part 2.

A smile and something more...
What he lacks in size he makes up for in lightheartedness and laughter. His rosy red cheeks are highlighted by his never-ending smile.  Smiles, he insists, are just as infectious as frowns; best to wear the face of merriment.
