the fact that it’s 2024 and i legit thought “nobody cares about me anymore” and then proceeded to think “wow that’s so exile arc c!tommy core” is frankly embarrassing

I need to talk about Exile Arc again because hindsight is 20 fucking 20 with that Arc man.

Sooooooo many fans never understood that c!Tubbo had no possible way of knowing what would happen to c!Tommy when he was exiled. As far as he knew, "exile" literally just meant that Tommy was allowed to do whatever he wanted, he just couldn't come back into New L'Manberg.

And let's not forget he was being told every single day by c!Dream that Tommy was still angry at him and didn't want to see him and that by visiting Tommy in his New Fun Beach House he'd just be ruining Tommy's day and pissing him off.

This PLUSSSS Tubbo tried so hard to save him. He said Tommy please let me do the talking, he tried compromise, he tried making Tommy sit in time out and write a journal and be babysat. And at this point NONE of us knew the full extent of c!Dreams obsession with Tommy, not even the audience, and c!Dream's demands really did seem reasonable at the time.

To top it all off, Tommy's proposed alternative to his Exile was taking the cabinet to ask Technoblade if he would help them fight c!Dream. You know, so that c!Dream would leave their government to govern in peace. Tommy wanted Technoblade. To help with that.

Like. Tubbo did not have a choice. c!Dream threatened to build obsidian walls around NLM. Killing anyone who entered or exited. To Tubbo, exiling Tommy was mostly just a method to buy time. He was never intending to abandon Tommy, he was trying to save L'Manberg, because he knew that's really what Tommy wanted most.

there’s something so dark and sad about c!tommy digging a little hole to hide in under technos house after escaping exile.

he was so scared of techno but he was even more afraid of dream, he knew techno would never hurt him in the ways dream did. techno may be violent, he may be emotional, he may be powerful, but he is not manipulative. he is not needlessly cruel.

tommy took his chances hiding near techno because ultimately he knew techno was safer. techno was strong enough to beat dream, techno had cared for him once, techno wasn’t a monster.

and even this is heartbreaking becuase it’s another example of how tommy unintentionally saw techno as a tool, a solution, instead of a person.

and techno knows this. he knows wilbur saw him as a tool in pogtopia, he knows tommy sees him as a tool now. but all he asks in return is loyalty. because ultimately he cares and hopes if he can be helpful enough people will care for him in turn.
