Another Drawfee inspired challenge -- if any artists follow me, feel free to have a try! -- where you put your playlist on shuffle and select first two songs as the characters, and the third as their vibe or relationship

The first song is about overcoming hardship (likely heartbreak?) through going with the waves as they come, I reckon. I went with a wet kitten sorta guy. The second is very rural summer, troubled youth, chosen family kind of song. So I imagine these two are having their rough teen years, but they are able to stick together and make it out alive. This worked out really well actually! <3

I do admit I have a lot of water-based songs in my every day playlist :D mermaids, lighthouse, river, through me (the flood)–

I thought of her silly ass name months ago and couldn't get Drawfee's 'lorem ipsum dolor sit, lauren epsom solo shit' poem out of my head. I'm relieved Mipson is an actual rare surname in the US, I double checked lmao. A writer character with a name resembling the jibberish placeholder text just felt right to me. I HAD to design her or I'd die.

Referenced Lily Cheng's box art for her pose bc I can't anatomy. I think I got pretty close to the RH/SH style!

She has the Scarlet Rose syndrome of having long nails while being a writer lol. It doesn't make sense but I will push the long nails agenda on these girlies

OK real colour theory discussion? Idk if her skin colour is "fantasy" enough for Shadow High. If I make her greyer she looks washed out. If I make her more saturated she looks sunburnt. So she just ended up with a similar skintone to mine but redder lmao. I think it contrasts better with the dark hair and clothes

clearly I watch too much a lot of Drawfee because sometimes I'll see something and go "[DF host] would be great at drawing that"

like a good shape and thinking that Jacob could make a dope character from it. or seeing a pose and knowing Karina would absolutely nail the anatomy. or thinking "if Nathan drew this in his style it'd be so tattooable".

Anyway the inspo behind this post was because I was rewatching Possibly In Michigan and thinking that Julia especially could do some really great art of Sharon because of how she draws bone structure and does shading. (Sharon is the one with straight dark hair)

anyway. kind of the same face shape as some of her "Julia Handsome Men"

My biggest question is who inspired you to be so great at drawing or who you are today?

(was confused at first abt what you meant by this but i think i got it lol)

i want to be great at art mostly bc i like doing it. my original inspiration to start pursuing art as a skill was partially that, but mostly bc it was the one thing my dad complimented me on and seemed proud of me for lmao

ig now that i think abt it, there are a lot of artists who continue to inspire me to get better. too many to name or remember. streamer/youtuber wise i'll say Drawfee and RedBeanPorridge(on twitch) are two big ones.

and a few tumblr artist i'm inspired by: @/sans-guy (fren <3), @/mothiepixie, @/itsxroxannex, and @/sunnydayaoe.

and for who inspired who i am today? (assuming that's what you meant by that) mostly i think the streamers i watch!

team Neat Dude on twitch is full of great ppl, but the biggest inspos for me are jasonsulli and detune. highly recommend! most of Neat Dude also have amazing chats! nicest most welcoming communities on twitch! and that's not an exaggeration! (wanna build a rly nice community like theirs some day :'>)

17. What inspires you?

that’s a very broad question hmmmm i guess other peoples art, mostly! i like watching people draw (shout out to drawfee) and that often gives me a lot of motivation and ideas. also listening to music! i listen to a lot of music and sometimes that gives me ideas and inspo. as for inspiring how my art looks that’d also be other peoples art, But Then Also i really love alt fashion/subcultures and old web aesthetics so i get a lot from those :D i feel like that may be a little obvious

24. How do you deal with artblock?

very apt question because i’m dealing with a bit right now lol

because i primarily do digital art, i usually switch to traditional for a little bit! or alongside doing digital. kinda resets my brain a little, because i think part of art block for me is just my brain getting tired of always doing the same thing (this is why i change up brushes and how i draw things a lot too — i don’t really have a solid process i just trust that the end product will always look like My Art) so i’ll doodle in my sketchbook instead of on my ipad. or, like right now, i’ve started doing a painting :D on a real canvas :D i haven’t done that since i was like 13

another way would just be taking a break orz that’s usually when i end up writing a lot instead because if i’m not doing Something creative i will explode and die
