Exactly my final thoughts on Athena during case 4. You guys said it very well ;) Capcom was actually pretty mindful about her character development and raised this question again : what does it mean to be a lawyer ? Now she managed to save Simon, the answer still has to be found… It reminded me of that great quote from Phoenix at the end of Trials and Tribulations :

“ It’s only natural for living creatures to fight to protect their own lives. But what makes us human is that we fight for others. But who do you fight for? How hard must you fight…? That’s the true measure of what human life is worth. We defense attorneys are warriors who are constantly challenged by that question. Even when the battle is over, and the bonds that connect us are severed… We always return… Time and time again.“  (Phoenix Wright at the end of T&T)

So yeah as you can see the answer isn’t the easiest to find xD however Phoenix and Apollo both found some kind of answer at the end of their game… I can’t remember Athena doing the same at the end of DD though. So it HAD to be done in SOJ ! Luckily, Simon was here and gave her his own definition of being a lawyer. He talked about the notion of duty, which hasn’t been very broached by Phoenix or Apollo. Duty implies that you don’t always need a reason to help someone. You just have to. So here we have our three lawyers with a different definition but all aiming for the same lawyer’s goal : saving the innocent people !! ( •̀ᄇ• ́)ﻭ✧

I just want to thank you for doing the "Press Buttons n' Talk" series for Phoenix Wright, this is literally the best way to relive the magic. You and Manky are truly a gift.

In the Wright Anything Agency, the Wrights and Athena were coping with their loss.  News of Apollo’s departure would no doubt spread soon to Prosecutor Gavin and eventually to the public proper.  For now, one of the many that did not know what had happened quite yet was making her way from home to the Agency with a basket in hand.  Athena, Apollo, Trucy, and Mr. Wright had apparently been called out of state for a case last week.  Juniper only knew because she'd been sent a hasty text asking her to take care of Charley in their absence.  Upon their return, Juniper had been swamped with a large school event and was unable to visit until now.  Though she knew where the hidden key was, now that Mr. Wright was back home it seemed wrong to let herself in without permission.  Instead, Juniper knocked lightly and waited to be invited it.

3. Do you have a favorite AU?

For this blog? Probably the LTOLOXA AU, since it’s so versatile. It’s also the only real AU I think I have here that I’ve stuck with, so there’s that. I guess that might be because it’s only an AU in the sense that it didn’t happen in canon nor was it probably intended to happen, but there is nothing it technically contradicts in canon. Usually. So it’s more like a pesdo-AU?

8. Any other blogs?

I’ve made so many over the past few years, but the only real active ones right now are this one, @saltygempearl​, and on a much lower scale, @byakudanloner. I also still can’t bring myself to truly give up on @drathenacykes, but that has been dormant for some time. Oh! I guess there is also my side blogs that branch off my Pearl. Technically I have six there, but the only real active ones atm are @dauntedonut and lowkey @jargoonlawyer.

Yeah I guess I have a lot still oops. 

11. What one character you’ve thought of RPing but haven’t yet?

The two that readily come to mind are Garnet from Steven Universe and Tom Lucitor from Star Vs. The Forces of Evil. Not sure if I ever will though, I don’t think I have enough of a connection with them atm.

17. What is your weakest point in writing? Angst, fluff, dialogue, etc.?

Hmmm, probably setting a scene, tbh? Like describing the set of a story, that’s something I never really felt like I excelled in. It’s also not something I need to do in detail a lot in RP, especially when using icons, so when I have to do it in fanfics (or the RARE occasion in RP), I always think it comes out clunky. I usually end up minimizing that part of the piece as a result, which I need to stop doing.

Hi!  I’m really glad you’re interested - I’m amazed the project has taken off like it did!

… you’re right though.  I didn’t realize that, but there’s no easy way to find the results charts again.  Huh.  Man, Google Forms could use some redesigns.

     November had arrived in its typical blustery fashion, with a cold snap that stubbornly made itself at home in the city of Los Angeles -- a relatively uncommon occurrence, and yet when it did happen the chill was positively blistering -- and it seemed that the Wright Anything Agency had seen a slow month. At least, that was how it appeared to Chief Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, who had decided to pay a visit to the law office ( if it could even be referred to by such a title ) and discuss a few matters pertaining to business with Phoenix Wright, himself. The place was practically deserted; he supposed it was good enough that people weren’t in need of Wright’s services, but he would be lying if he said he wasn’t at all concerned for the office’s financial standing.

     As he strode from his automobile across the parking lot to the front door, Miles tugged his woolen black jacket closer to his body, his breath coming out in short bursts of fog from between his lips. If the early weeks of November were quite this frigid, then he could only imagine the miserable December they were in for this year -- as if he needed another reason to detest the winter season as a whole. Already, in the short span of seconds it had taken him to reach the front door and slip quietly into the lobby, his cheeks and the tip of his nose had gone ruddy from the bitter cold.

     When the doors closed behind him, Edgeworth looked up to find the lobby in a state of complete disarray. It had been some time since last he’d paid a visit to Wright’s workplace -- of course, he wasn’t so foolish as to believe that it wouldn’t have changed at all in such a length of time, but he had to admit, the clothing and outlandish props strewn across the room were . . . jarring, to say the least. More important than the mess, though, it seemed that Wright was nowhere in sight at the moment. 

     One of his younger lawyers, however, was.

     “ . . . Miss Cykes,” he greeted at last, inclining his head in a stiff but polite nod. “Ah -- you wouldn’t happen to have any idea where Wright has gone at the moment, would you?”

Trucy had heard every horror story about the Wright and Co. Law Offices in the book. The most common theme being Maya taking on clients without even so much as informing Phoenix of them first, and Phoenix being in for quite the surprise because of it. Trucy had laughed at these kinds of stories, and as she got older, made to promise she’d never do that, despite practically being the boss of the office.

Well, now was a great time to break that promise, and luckily just the person she was looking for was sitting at the couch when she walked into the office. Trucy plopped her backpack down beside Athena and hopped over the back of the couch to sit criss-cross beside her.

“Do you have a case right now?” Well, that was one way to get straight to the subject. As far as she knew, Athena was totally free, so really, the question didn’t even need to be asked. “Because if not, you’re about to have one in about...” A quick glance at the wall clock. “Fifteen minutes!”
