Supporting Drag Queens reading to Children @candy_licious._ This wonderful and joyful initiative has been torpedoed by non-tolerant groups. Even major political parties in Vienna are seeking to instate a law (seriously?) protecting children form drag queens. Their arguments are as follows: “Stop the transgender-madness” <> Well, Drag Queens are not (necessarily) transgender, and I fail to see any madness around it. Certainly, media are happily picking up any LGBTQ+ news, because those topics seem to polarize, but the social phenomenon is not taking over main-stream. It’s just about showing children the diversity out there – this is a part of education. “Protect our kids from sexualizes images” <> Drag Queens or cross-dressing people are not per se sexualized images. Maybe it’s in the eye of the viewer 😊, and the criticism is merely their own anxiety or shame (certainly unreasoned) being attracted to queer people 😊. We are talking about a fully dressed person reading to children. What is a bitch, exactly?

Of course, biologically-speaking, it's a female canine; I have one, The Chipster -- rescue Collie, and failed sheepdog because she can't tell the difference between sheep and birds. Note to self: must ask youngest son to take video of the Chipster trying to herd pigeons!

Sparkly male-dominated DragWorld-speaking, bitch is a term of semi-endearment for a fellow competitor you pretend to like but secretly you're hoping his tuck-tape fails and his Can-Can becomes a Can't-Can't.

Femalely-speaking (and trust me on this, Mad doesn't require tuck-tape but she likes to use it anyway) I don't often use the word as an insult to other females. I have a very wide vocabulary, and bitch is quite limiting in its applications when there are so many better words to choose from!

The last time I used it was when Eldest Son's female supervisor wouldn't return the cookie tin when we baked some birthday cookies for Eldest Son to share with his colleagues. I mean, that was definitely a Bitch Moment! She basically stole my favouritest prettiest cookie tin, that I use [recte: used to use] when Mad bakes cookies or brownies for middle son's fellow paramedics and youngest son's team-mates. She has deprived us of a cookie tin that I have far better use for. Bitch!

Dammit, I said it again. But she deserves insults, and sometimes bitch is just so handy when I’m seriously miffed!

I don't understand how anyone would equate bitch with difficult. Or strong-minded. Or insanely smart. I equate bitch with someone who lacks respect and thoughtfulness, or who is so self-obsessed she thinks she deserves my cookie tin more than the Ambulance Service does.

The Chipster is a bitch because she's female and canine, not because she's difficult. She's utterly adorable, she just has this thing about trying to herd birds and cats and postmen -- if she sees more than one at once she has this uncontrollable urge to round them up and bring them home to show me how well she's doing. She's only difficult if you're a holiday relief postman who doesn't know that it's Chip’s job to guide you to my house and trap you by the wheelie bins.

The Chipster is beautiful, blessed, brilliant, beguiling, blissful, bedazzling...

Everything that Her Markleness isn't.
