Thunderstorms rage through the desert plains with sands turned to glass from lightning strikes and treacherous sinkholes hidden across the lands. Among the sands is a temple long forgotten, hidden away between hard-packed cliffs, behind the sandfalls, is the rumored lair of an ancient dragon with scales bluer than the sky above. Now that you’ve come all this way, will you pop in to say hello?

Hey everyone! Here’s another map in our dragon lair collection, this time the lair of a blue dragon! We took a lot of inspiration from Petra as well as the cool concept of 'sandfalls'!

One Lures the Beast with Gold

For InkTober daily prompt: 18. Trap I'm pretty sure this won't go as planned. But if your quarry is this crafty, you try new tactics. When I had this idea I thought of Wile E. Coyote's bear traps that never catch anything but himself; but when researching I became aware again of how cruel hunting traps are, especially when not catching live animals in cages, which I guess can be justified. So if you come across this subject, speak up to help put an end to trapping.

It's Magic's first Simic Spider! There is no other spider with blue. Seriously, not even Aquastrand Spider has blue.

So Vilespawn Spider is 2/3 spider with Reach for GU. It also has two other abilities.

First: 'At the beginning of your upkeep, mill a card.'

Second: Pay 2GU, Tap, Sacrifice Vilespawn Spider: Create a 1/1 green Insect creature token for each creature card in your graveyard. Activate only as a sorcery.

This seems like a solid card for those who play small token generation. I like that it creates Insect tokens instead of Spider tokens. The only other spider that does that is Dragonlair Spider.

This card is like Spider Spawning on a body but with Insect tokens. This could go into an Insect deck with the Insect token generators currently in Standard.

Oh, hi again hehe. So my friends gift me some boosters from new Theros for my birthday and i pull it a Gallia foil. The card is pretty and a want to use the gift y'know. I thought about doing a "party hard" theme, but didn't found much cards to do so. I want to make a deck that is fun and functional in someway, but don't know where to go, so i was thinking if you could give me some advice.

Oh absolutely. Gallia wants creatures to swing and like Jori En people probably won’t target you, so you’ll get lots of Gallia triggers. Gruul combat tricks seems good. Token generators like Dragonlair Spider and Predatory Advantage are important.

BUT THAT ISN’T IN THEME ENOUGH SO ITS TIME FOR ACT OF TREASON: THE DECK

You’re sure to swing for Gallia’s trigger using your opponents’ things! Insurrection makes for a thematic finisher. Get em all drunk off satyr wines. If you want to be exceptionally rude green has creature sacrifice like Evolutionary Leap. For your own creatures spawn tokens and secure safe swings in combat.

Sometimes you are so sure you're totally up to the task, but find out too late you were literally biting off more than you could chew. There've been more scenes with actual events in my sketchbook lately, as opposed to sweeping vistas with tiny travellers, so I'll see where that leads.
