Hi hello! I want to use your "repel unwanted person" charm from Grovedaughter (my favorite book on the subject ever since I found it, by the way!) but I'm at a loss as to where to find thistle leaves this time of year. I'm thinking of substituting it with cayenne or maybe garlic, but I thought I'd ask for your advice first as the one who wrote it. What substitution do you recommend? Something I can find at the grocery store would be ideal since it's not good foraging season. Either way thank you for taking the time to read this and for writing such good books ^^

The lovely thing about the internet is that there are quite a few sites that will carry the herbs we need for our spells year round. It may take some searching to find the right one if you're outside the U.S., but at least a few of them deliver worldwide now.

My go-to's for single ounces are Penn Herb and Mountain Rose Herbs, both of which currently have thistle leaves in stock.

If you wanted to, you could also substitute something spicy or acidic to be your repellent instead of prickly leaves. Cayenne, garlic, chili peppers, and lime peel are all excellent options.

[Dig... Dig!?] Both @radioves and @dragonboyteeth went to the digsite intent on uncovering the spot ∆∞ at the same time! Initially, there is some anxiety between the two of you. You think about fighting each other briefly, before deciding that it must have been fate that you would try to dig at the same time and place. You work together shoveling and dusting away at the harsh sand for a couple minutes. Before you both see the side of a large iron container simultaneously. The container is not rusty despite being very old, and is not locked but has five latches at the front and a hinge. You open it up and inside is a porcelain tea set, it has a shiny finish but is still grey. It is decorated with a minimalist design containing small crimson fishes and flowers. One odd thing about it is that the lid of the teapot seems to be fused with the rest of the teapot, but the teapot itself still feels hollow. As Radio touches the handle of the teapot, it whirrs from within as if there is a machine inside, and starts slowly getting heavier. Dragon looks within the small peephole spout and notices a warm aroma coming from within. You pour out the liquid from the teapot into the two cups, and it is bluish-clear in color. Radio sets the teapot down and it stops whirring and becomes lighter in weight. You both hazard to drink the tea, and it tastes very good! Sort of... a sweet... floral-ish taste. With hints of honey and berries. Over tea you both decide to submit this artifact to a professional college for further study, and have joint ownership over it.

I know we've got that other post circulating but fuck we are desperate, we need food and to stay on top of bills really badly and the universe is fucking conspiring against us in some fucking bullshit ways, if you can spare anything so we can safely afford food and housing in this tough gap we'd appreciate it so greatly.

We are a mixed race trans plural system with several disabilities and an outright phobia of being made homeless again after the last time, if you can do anything it'd mean the world to us.
