when i’m feeling overstimulated i listen to simulation swarm by big thief on a low volume on repeat

This piece is inspired by a song I've had on repeat lately. It's Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You by Big Thief. I wanted to try and capture some of the magic from a few of its lyrics.

"It's a little bit magic

Like a river of morning geese in the new warm mountain"

"There's a dragon in thе phone line coughing up a mighty flame"

There's a line which flows right into my heart like a river.

"I believe in you

Even when you need to recoil"

There's so much love there. It's reassurance, that despite what your mind may try to tell you about how distance gathers and the worries it comes with, you have people who understand and will wait as long as you need.

change by big thief is so beautiful especially when you consider that adrianne and buck used to be married. obviously it may not be written about each other but since it's essentially a song about people who are no longer romantically involved but who will always care so deeply for each other, i think you really feel that continuance of love when they perform it.

Feel back in a similar place to a couple months ago - uncertain about my relationship, unsure on my feelings and scared of my capacity to cause tumult and pain in peoples lives.

The weather is terrifying. It’s 20 degrees Celsius in October, it’s not right.

Some of Adrienne Lenker’s songs are both getting me through and intensifying the grief.

My mum is still struggling so much with her housing and relationship situation, my grandma is mentally vacating and I can’t be with either of them because there’s too much risk of destabilising myself.

I want my cold October, I want my future, I want love and I want any steadiness in my life

I don’t think I will, and I don’t think that is an irrational thought
