#draculaura dark lipstick

Core Refresh Draculaura. This has to be my favorite G3 Draculaura so far. I am obsessed with the dark lipstick and her outfit is so G1 Draculaura even if the material isn't as good as G1. She is absolutely perfect.

Some new g3 MH dolls dropping this year, so I (someone that does not collect dolls) am once again giving my ratings/opinions of them that nobody asked for:

I'm gonna just say it, I enjoy Frankie significantly more when they take the neon yellow out of their outfit lmfao. Don't get me wrong, the neon pink/blue/yellow look works for them, I just prefer it w/o.

so suffice to say, color palette wise, I like this Frankie.

now, their actual fit itself... I like some aspects of it more than others. Things I like: The dress (I think the one poofy sleeve works for them), and the hair piece and earrings.

I also really like their face on this doll, it's very pretty! I don't remember what color Frankie's eyebrows usually are, but this dark blue shade looks nice, and I like their lipstick.

Things I don't hate in themselves but would change in some way: I think the blue strappy bits of their shoes would have looked better either as the same silver color as the rest of the shoe or black. The necklace I also think should have been silver, to match the rest of their accessories.

Also, I'm on the fence about the pink, I wonder if it might have just looked more cohesive overall to have just left it out? I almost feel like their isn't enough pink in the rest of the outfit to make the accent bits of pink work with it? Maybe a pink hairclip in their bangs would have helped?? Idk.

As per usual, I love Cleo's look. Her balloon is a scarab that is kinda heart shaped...that's cute. I do wish they'd given her some stockings or tights or something?? maybe some stockings with li'l black bows to match her arms, and to carry the black down to her legs, but also it looks fine without.

Cleo's always just so pretty...

I DO wish they'd be more experimental in her hairstyles, tho, I feel like it's almost always a High-Pony for her, which, she rocks it, but it'd be nice to see them do summin else !!

CUPID!!! I'm excited to see her be brought over into g3 style. :)

I love that they gave her big poofy curls, very cute. Also I'm glad that they kept her heart lipstick!!

I like her upper eyelashes being white, so they stand out against her make-up.

I like the little heart marks under her eyes, but I don't like the three on top lid—maybe if they were different sized hearts, instead of all being the same size??

I also like that they carried over the black of her legs, but I wish they'd kept it on her arms, too.

Glad to see they kept her bone-wings, though.

Her outfit... I like the red and gold, and I expect there to be pink but I feel like there were better ways it could've been incorporated; I think the pink lace would have looked better black. Instead, the XOXO of her headband could have been painted pink, so it'd be more easily visible (also the arrow thru the heart should have been black), and one of the hearts on each of her shoes could've been pink instead of both hearts being red. Also the blue hearts of her headband is SO random, I think THOSE should have been pink, literally nowhere else on her outfit is blue...

Draculaura, as always, is my fave.

This hairstyle for her is very cute (and also a first? I know g3 drac has been given pigtails before, but not yet with bangs?? It's cute).

Once again I think some stockings or tights or something would've been a cute addition, but the doll certainly isn't ruined by not having them.

I DO wish the pink of her shoes was a lighter pink, so it would match everything else she's wearing, instead of being a darker pink, but the darker pink at least matches her present and balloon.

speaking of her shoes, I DO wish they'd put in the effort of painting the obvious strings of pearls to be white, so they'd match w/ the other pearls of her accessories.

Also I like that they gave her gloves (I feel like Cupid ALSO could've benefited from gloves if they didn't want to carry over the black on her arms from g1, it would've been a nice nod, at least. I can see lots of doll customizers buying up extras of this drac to swap her hands w/ Cupids, for that purpose actually).

Birthday haul 3, the final birthday haul

last but certainly not least (in fact, i saved them for last because they are my favorite of the 3 i picked up) is Monster Fest frankie! as irl unboxed photos started to be released, this because the monster fest doll i was the most excited for. i am so happy to have them in hand… this doll is so, so cute. yall.

face card! this frankie has a lot of my favorites on frankie -dark lip (this shiny metal grey… it’s probably the best lipstick color they’ve ever had.) -asymmetrical makeup (and this whole doll goes ham with the asymmetry) and…. Bangs! i love bangs on frankie… and these are really cute. the chunky streaks are similar in execution to fearidescent, but lay much nicer in saran. im also a huge, huge fan of this mostly black hair blend for frankie. it stands out so much!

screen printed detail check. a lot of frankie’s have been going ham on the trans colors, (and this one has all of them too,) but this one is loud and proud pan flag. this is a really really cute and well balanced color scheme overall.

shoe check. this frankie has these cool, disco ball heels, that have these separate yellow pieces attached to them. and also a unique leg mold! frankie’s prosthetic blends into the shoe on the side it’s on, and i think it looks cool as hell. i do love when they do something fun with the prosthetic, though in previous dolls that’s usually just been changing the color of it, so to see a whole new mold is super fun

another detail. these cute little fingerless gloves! theyre separate pieces, but they stay on very securely unless you remove the hands.

accessory check! this time we’ve got another bag, another camera, another ticket (and two ticket rolls, one of which i almost lost when unboxing bc it was so tiny, lol.) a fancy lightning bolt shaped drink cup, a black-bun hot dog, and of course, another pair of sunglasses. i do like the mold on these ones tho

with some accessories on! i have to say, i think the bag isn’t doing much for this look. it’s a little much and less cohesive than clawdeens. probably won’t display them with with it. again, as well, the glasses are cute, but i want to see their face.

now that i’ve unboxed all of them, i had to squeeze them in somewhere. i ended up sitting frankie down on this shelf to make a little frankie corner (since that blue-haired peach riot is also a frankie… maybe i should get a little one piece franky to put with them too.)

i have to say, frankie has become easily my second fav of the g3 mh cast. them being nonbinary is an awesome change, and they’ve been getting hit dolls recently that i really love… welcome committee, when they figure out where the hell they’re releasing you… i’ll be picking you up too.

as for the monster fest pair i picked up, i really don’t have a spot or stands for them. i just have the one stand, so i decided to sit them down in the misc section on my desk

absolutely obsessed with these two. can’t wait to pick up the cleo and lagoona from the line too! (and draculaura… well, she’ll be a project doll. i think i can save her.)

I feel like the only person that doesn't like the core refresh draculaura...it's a cute tribute to the original drac, but I hate the vinyl clothes and think they look really plain. I also prefer the triangular bangs that look really unique and vampy. I like the dark lipstick, just not with that hair.

I love clawdeen's and cleo's refresh a lot (their originals were hate crimes) and I'm thinking of getting the new cleo. I have mixed feelings about lagoona, her outfit and hair are way better but I'm not sold on the orange lip.

I can't stand frankie's omg. It's giving 2010s nightmare before christmas hot topic merch. I can't look at them for more than 3 seconds, they trigger my traumatic zillenial memories I've tried to bury. I just know this frankie has invader zim gir knee high converse I can sense it...

Brand Boo Draculaura doesn't have black lipstick, she has a dark burgundy lipstick. I think it's the same shade as the color her G1 Signature came.

Monster High: Monster Ball Thoughts

Clawdeen

Love the suit. Even if G3 Clawdeen is worlds apart from G1, it's nice to see they decided to maintain her nonconformity. I don't like the stripe down the side of the pants though, it makes it look like track pants. I also would've liked to have her glasses here, I think it'd be the cherry on top since the whole look feels very 70's.

Cleo

I think Cleo looks gorgeous! The hair is very Nefra but it still works for me. If I had to change anything, I think this look could be elevated with dark lipstick, even an indigo or black! But otherwise, she's divine.

Draculaura

To die for, she is so adorable. I especially love the giant bow in her hair and around her dress! I would've liked if the bow was a hot pink instead and the shoes' colours were inverted so their primary colour is black. The earrings don't really fit the outfit either. Still, she's absolutely lovely!

Lagoona

I love her hair style and the shoes are probably my favourite of all of them! Her dark lipstick suits her surprisingly well too and the coral pattern on her frills look super nice. Despite that, the colour palette looks haphazard and oversaturated with a lot of conflicting pieces.

It's hard to tell if Lagoona's dress is slim-fitting because the top ruffles obscure her entire torso. It makes the dress look baggy even though I don't actually think it is. I wish her right shoulder was strapless instead and I'm not sure if it's a hem on the top frill but it adds to the cheapness of the look. I also think the scale outline should've been a light colour other than black so the scale pattern is more subtle and textured looking. There's a black hem before the bottom frill starts that we could've done without as well.

I understand Lagoona's outfit motif is always nautical but I wish they had a more specific theme here than just any random sea thing. Her necklace and earrings are octopuses which is an interesting idea but then her bag is a shell and her hair accessory and shoes are lilies? I wish they stuck to one thing and had that exist throughout the outfit instead.

not the biggest fan of lagoona but i don't like her g3 design in general so it's def just me. i do think she has a stronger style in her refresh, but shes missing that swimmer aesthetic that i think is so important to her design. also less blue in her hair she really is lagoona pink now /j

FRANKIE WITH PANTS LETS GOOOOO i think the leaked prototype had a stronger color scheme (the pink streak in their hair isn't doing it for me) but i LOVE what they've been doing with frankie's style recently, really hype for that welcome committee doll 👀 also NO MORE PINK LIPS HUZZAH

tbh cleos kinda giving nefra in her refresh??? i do really like it tho, a MUCH stronger design vs her og core doll. i do think cleo's dolls have been some of the strongest out of g3 so this is no surprise to me

draculaura and clawdeen leaked a while ago but MAN did they do them justice. giving clawdeen her dark hair back and the fur on the jacket is SUCH a better execution, i love that they gave drac a sun hat i think that's so cute and i love that her outfit feels like a callback to g1 :) and again BLACK LIPS WERE FREE FROM THE HOT PINK NIGHTMARE-

i was wowed by last year’s deluxe line (monster fest) that i had considered getting the entire line but didn’t go through with it. SO HAPPY I DID NOT. THIS will be the first full G3 line i will get !!!!! Monster High x The Sims

Monster High as Sims (No occults)

These are my interpretation of some monster high girls in the sims. I tried my best to keep close to their designs on the wiki. As for their facial features I just kind of went based off of what I thought they looked like. Honestly its always fun doing things like this in the sims and if you are ever bored of the game I suggest trying something like this. However, I only did one outfit for each sim bc I can get stuck in CAS for hours on one sim alone. So if you download them from the gallery every other outfit will be naked lol. 

If you think Lagoonas hair looks weird, it is bc I used a hair acc for a different hair to create the blue highlights. You could probably find a better alternative but I kind of like it lol. It looks alot better when the color for the acc is close in color to their initial hair piece you are using. like using the dark brown option for the original hair, and then using the ‘broken’ hair acc in the lighter brown option. It adds great detail.

💘 Favorite Doll Line?

School's Out and/or I <3 Fashion

Everyone's designs are so well done and they look so good together! I love how Lagoona's fishnets are not even, Clawdeen's whole outfit really suits her, the preppy look works perfectly for Frankie and once again the uneven leggings are so good, this Cleo's design is one of the best, brown lipstick looks really good on her, Draculaura is adorable and I'm glad Clawd didn't only get sporty clothes. And of course Abbey's and Spectra's designs are iconic. The shoes in this line are so so good too!! (picture credit)

I couldn't find a picture of all of the I<3F dolls together but I adore this line too. There's not a single bad looking doll among them, even if Whisp's clothes are noticibly cheaper than the rest, but her gold shoes are really cool. Frankie has to be one of my fave Frankie's ever with her hair, blue lipstick and cute socks. Abbey has dark blue/purple lipstick too which I wish they would've given her more of because it looks really good on her. Clawdeen is underrated I think, imo she is one of the best Clawdeens ever, the purple lipstick and pops of green work really well together. Cleo's (once again) dark burgundy lipstick is lovely and I love her metallic skirt and boots! The designers did a great job at making Scarah very 60s but make it MH, especially love those ripped leggings! This is Venus' most punk look which works really well on her with the short hair and black accessories and vines. Iris' clothes are really cute and I think this version of her looks better than her signature SDCC one. And Wydowna is super cool, not only a 6 armed doll but I love her comic book inspired clothes and her blue lipstick. I didn't think about this before but I might like this line this much because of the dark and fun lipstick shades!

top 10 monster high dolls that are- in my opinion- just plain ugly

to save myself some time and effort i will not include any reboot doll line because let’s be real those alone would fill up the entire list AND i wont consider the pre-reboot-budget dolls since- you know you can’t really compare the save frankie dolls with the ones 13 wishes had.

1. lagoonafire

so much- went wrong here. the outfit looks thrown together, the face is ugly...yeah just- noooo...

2. clawvenus

another freaky fusion doll that could’ve spared us from it’s existence...honestly clawvenus’ outfit is so fucking ugly, like it’s just plain hideous- the entire color sceme of the doll is. even the doll itself just has this- foul looking dark green color that looks even more rancid with the light pink lipstick. 

3. astranova (the pink skinned one) 

the dark blue astranova doll was good the way it was until mattel decided:“hold up- let’s be racist!”. changing astranova’s skintone from dark blue to light pink was one of the stupidest decisions mattel made for monster high in literally every situation. production of the doll had already started and the doll was ALREADY SOLD TO PEOPLE, the movie included the original skintone- and of course official art of the character as well...honestly why.

5. kala mer’ri

i just- don’t like her face at all. 

6. viperine gorgon

nothing offensive but just- not intesting man. we could’ve gone without her. just a bunch of uninspired snake-looking stuff.

7. the haunted dolls for draculaura, clawdeen, rochelle and twyla

again dolls with really ugly face-up’s. look good in promo-stuff but in real life they make me nauseous.

8. “love in scaris” rochelle 

would be okay but her headband is fucking hideous. that big-ass-rose spoils everything :,)

9. catty noir

wouldn’t be as bad if the character wouldn’t complain within the show that she just wants to be a normal ghoul...before showing up in school in her big ass stage clothes. 

10. the entire fucking ghouls alive line

god these dolls were just- creepy. often they had shiny skin making them look sweaty, the outfits were replicas of thier main outfits but- just worse. and by god clawdeen’s eyes were demonic.

...man mattel did clawdeen dirty so fucking often like girl you deserve better.
