today's bird is pesquet's parrot (dracula parrot)!

- pesquet's parrot is the only animal in its genus

- they feed almost exclusively on a few species of figs

- their faces are bald to prevent complications with feathers while eating fruit!

Have you ever woken up after a deep sleep and found that you have a wound on you that wasn't there the day before? Well if so, its possible that in the night you fought with the great Fulgidus Dracul. This sneaky parrot yearns for everlasting youth and in order to achieve this he must feed his fig tree fresh blood. When he does so it will produce a beating heart fig that will grant any who eat it youth and strength. So make sure to lock your windows at night or he may sneak in and try to use you as his next sacrifice.

Wheee, I finally get to show the first of my birds I did way back in January! My theme was "weird birds I haven't drawn before", and then while doing research I found out that dracula parrots (or vulturine parrots to be more precise) eat fruit, I couldn't help myself
