i need everyone to know that community is what will save us all in every single way imaginable. you forming a bond with your neighbour or coworker might help them move house or feel less alone or have the courage to leave an unhealthy living environment. you helping a stranger might provide them with hope. in turn, being able to lean on your community in times of need will save you. your broader bonds with your community are the revolution we need. our society seeks to divide and separate us in so many ways but we are all so much more united in our struggles and joys than you are made to believe. we need to hold onto each other very tightly.

I don't like to post on Tumblr much. In general anymore. Especially about politics. But I will say that if you're going around harassing random folks belonging to vulnerable minorities who you know didn't vote or suspect didn't vote or don't even live in the US in the first place and you just don't like their attitude towards the election. Saying some shit like "look at what you've done you'll get what's coming to you" or saying that Harris losing was their fault I need you to take a good long look in the mirror and fucking think about why you think that is acceptable actually. To continue to make the lives of vulnerable and small populations, many of whom can't even fucking vote anyway, into a living hell everywhere. You'd rather yell at marginalized people for "ruining the election" than Trump supporters for foaming at the mouth to kill more children abroad and continue to mass jail and murder poc here? Not that the Democratic position was better anyway, and you're disgusting for harassing people over the Democrats' loss. Don't claim to be fighting for human rights if you'd turn on the people suffering most so quickly.

i'm working on a article about the recent aid run KCM did with STFNB and Pal Pals Tampa to Cuba but like the fact that I can take my ass to the dollar store and get the makings of a meal for relatively cheap or I can break my arm and be administered a IV painkiller in the street (neither of which are possible for my friends and family in Cuba) is a privilege that is born of imperial spoils. A 6 pack of menstrual pads costs the same as a cheap serviceable meal in Habana. There's barely rice on the island. My dear friend cried when she saw I brought her brownie mix and rice. My cousins praised me like a monarch when I brought them aspirin I bought at the dollar store. I've never stopped taking the ability to walk outside without instinctly looking up for a warplane for granted since my return from a volunteer medic in a war zone where I had to use my harm reduction experience to show people how to clean needles for reuse due to lack of supply that has certainly only worsened since Nov 2023 when I and half the MSF convoy I was with got blown up. i spent a portion of time living with family in morocco who live year round with no electricity. never took the lights for granted after that. idk how are we not getting it.
