I just never really put together that this quote had been used as an advertising slogan and it's making me crack up. Imagine your mental patient attacking you and slurping your blood off the floor, then shouting "Ba-da-da-da, I'm loving it!" while being dragged away. (I know that's not the most direct comparison but it's the one that popped into my head and it's very funny.)

Again, the British characters have more difficulty communicating with each other than with the Romanian vampire.

I ran with the price from the Dictionary of Victorian London of “three-halfpence”. By luck, I found an eBay auction where I could confirm it: someone was selling matches from the late 1800s. The original price, as printed on the label, was 1-1/2p for a pack of 48-50.

Order of Ecclesia had a camera and a phonograph. The phonograph was invented in 1877 by Thomas Edison. It’s been a maximum of 20 years since Shanoa defeated Dracula.

Then again, Symphony of the Night had TNT, dynamite, and neutron bombs before their invention. TNT was developed in 1863 as a dye and first used as an explosive in 1891. Dynamite was patented in 1867, and one of its main components, nitroglycerin, was discovered in 1847. We still don’t have neutron bombs.

There were also modern-style chainsaws in Order of Ecclesia, motorcycles in Castlevania 64, and all sorts of futuristic weapons in Curse of Darkness, not to mention New World foods in the games set pre-Columbian Exchange (Lament of Innocence, Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse, Curse of Darkness).

These anachronisms led me to develop a character to explain them away. More on that later.
