Strong dislike toward one another

EJ accepts that he’s a monster. He accepts that he needs to hurt others to survive. But he also makes the conscious decision every day to help people however he can to negate the harm he does. He chooses to do good

Ann is a creature of hate. She has suffered, so now everyone else must suffer, too. She drags people down and derives a sadistic kind of enjoyment from it

EJ knows what she does and he doesn’t approve, to put it lightly. He thinks that if she vowed to help people in her medical career, then she should’ve kept her vow—even in this other life. However, he does acknowledge that she’s a demon, one with much less of a grasp on her humanity, so he knows there’s not much he can do about it

Nurse Ann enjoys toying with him, just to see if she'd ever be able to break him. And, usually, when it doesn't work out, she gets frustrated and resorts to the one thing she knows best; attack

The two have gotten into a few fights, and while they wouldn’t actively get physical on sight, tensions are fairly high. They definitely don’t get along

Eyeless Jack & X-Virus

They have a really cute relationship—like the energetic nephew who’s always pestering the begrudging uncle kind of vibe

For some reason, Cody just loves bugging the shit out of EJ—affectionately, of course. He thinks it’s amusing that the hybrid’s so strong, yet so soft. He knows that whatever he does to him, EJ would never snap at him. The demon wouldn’t hurt a fly — so he certainly wouldn’t hurt Cody, and Cody loves taking advantage of that

EJ also knows that Cody’s bugging is all done affectionately, and the guy doesn’t have bad intentions (despite what he does for a living) so he just lets it happen

Both are also protective of one another, even though they probably wouldn’t admit it. It’s very endearing to see

Eyeless Jack & Doctor Smiley

Jack is pretty powerful—no doubt about it. Both he and the people around him know he can beat people’s asses if it comes down to it. So it really isn’t often that he feels… unnerved by someone

But, like, c’mon—have you seen Dr. Smiley? How could anyone not be creeped out by the guy?

Jack knows he could handle him in a confrontation—easily, at that. And, honestly, he isn’t one to usually want that sort of thing to happen, but with this guy, he kind of does. Partly because he thinks the doc probably deserves it, and partly because it’d just feel nice to sock that creep in the jaw

But Dr. Smiley never does anything that would merit a beating. He just stays there… creepily

Needless to say, Jack is not a fan

The doctor, on the other hand, honestly doesn’t care much about Jack. His interest in him goes only slightly farther than his interest in other people; it’d be more fun to pull him apart and dissect him, buts that’s about all he’d be good for

In terms of personality, well, Smiley thinks he’s a bit too much of a self-righteous rule-stickler. He doesn’t hold the highest opinion of him, but that isn’t anything new

Dr. Smiley hates everyone anyways, so Jack is no different.

Jack feels cautiously on-guard around the Dr. and the Dr. doesn’t much care for the hybrid. So their relationship is along the lines of formal acquaintances at best
