Final Random Sinclair Headcanons Because I Can't Get Them Out Of My Head

Hello my darlings. We've reached the final part of my random headcanons. There's only one person left - you know him, you love him, it's adorable waxy boi Vincent! Again, these are all just random thoughts I had, I don't really write on here much, but these just kept coming to me so I figured I may as well share em. Hope you enjoy!

Vincent Sinclair

If you didn't happen to see this on my last post, I believe Vincent is the younger twin and Bo is the older one. Only apart by seconds for obvious reason, but Bo was technically born first

Even after the separation surgery, baby Vincent had a hard time sleeping unless Bo was with him. Having his literal other half suddenly not be attached anymore took a lot of adjustment for him

He also exclusively sleeps on his right side, or at least with the right side of his face against the pillow. Kinda like a subconscious need to feel something against the skin there since Bo wasn't attached to him anymore

Vincent is actually able to talk, he's just selectively mute. This comes from the abuse he witnessed on Bo by their parents

I kinda touched on this last time, but restraining Bo to the chair every time he "misbehaved" or threw a tantrum really just taught the kids that it wasn't acceptable to express their emotions. So even tho Vincent never actually experienced the same punishment, it scared him to watch that happen to his brother

That's why, in the introduction to the film, you see little Vincent seemingly just ignore Bo while he's strapped into the chair, just quietly eating his cereal and swinging his feet

This is NOT because he didn't care about his brother. He was just scared of getting the same treatment that Bo did. He had the idea that if he behaved in front of his parents, he'd be able to sneak off to comfort Bo later

We all see in the film how he's immediately concerned for Bo when he notices the arrow in his chest. He hates seeing either of his brothers hurt, and he just started feeling more comfortable openly expressing that after their parents were gone

So yes, he can talk, but usually it's not unless he absolutely has to. His voice is often harsh and raspy because of this, but it's still there

I don't see Vincent as the meek, timid, and abused twin like a lot of people do. Bo isn't just his brother, he's Vincent's TWIN brother. He's literally been dealing with Bo since they were in the womb

Vincent is just calmer by nature and it's much harder to actually get him angry. He's learned that Bo says a bunch of shit he doesn't mean when he's angry and it's usually best to just let him cool off on his own. Vincent doesn't take it personally

This doesn't mean they don't fight. It happened more when they were kids, but as fully grown adult men Vincent rarely ever gets so pissed off he actually fights with Bo

I think most people agree on this next part but I'm gonna say it anyway - Vincent started growing his hair out so that he'd have something to hide his face with if he ever needed to take off the mask

Even with that in mind, he's not afraid to throw hands if Bo really manages to piss him off 💀

Like they have gotten into legit brawls and fist fights as children if they got on each other's nerves

He does genuinely like the look of it long now, but it started mostly as a security blanket type thing

Speaking of his hair, his is naturally darker than Bo's, he doesn't dye it or anything. We see in pictures that they were blonde as young kids and their hair got darker as they grew older. Bo's hair just stopped darkening at the dark brown we see him with. Vincent's hair just kept on getting darker

He actually does take pretty good care of his hair. He's not super concerned about it, but he doesn't want it to be a rat's nest either. He makes sure to keep it brushed, washes it regularly, and he's generally good at keeping wax out of it

Vincent wasn't really bullied as much for his mask as most people think he was. The Sinclairs were basically local celebrities, so everyone in town knew who they were. Their birth and separation surgery were announced in the paper too, so everyone kinda knew it was from that

What really bothered him was the pity from other people. Kids could be assholes about it every now and then, sure, but hearing adults whisper about it was what he'd really hate

He got into wax kinda by accident. It was a day while Trudy was working on a new mask for him, he was sitting around watching her. She gave him some extra wax she had lying around to play with

Saying stuff like "poor boy" or "shame he didn't turn out as good looking as his brother" when they thought he wasn't listening. That's what really got to him

Vincent also isn't really shy, he's just introverted. He found that hearing people talk about him and feeling sorry for him behind his back exhausted him, so he really just prefers the company of his family

Trudy and Victor often told the boys old mythology stories at bedtime, so Vincent decided he wanted to make what he thought the monsters and creatures in the stories looked like

Since it was his first time using wax, it was far from perfect, but he'd spent so long watching his mom work on her art that he had an idea of some of the technique

He actually used a spoon to shape the wax for most of it lol

Even for such a young kid, he definitely showed promise. That's when Trudy really started to take him under her wing. She was delighted to be able to bond with one of her boys like that

Vincent always felt a little guilty for having a closer relationship with Trudy because of how she and Victor would treat Bo (and how they'd pay much less attention to Lester). He still loved his parents, but it definitely added a huge guilt complex

That's why he's so concerned about always being there for Bo and Lester to help take care of them. He just tends to let Bo take the initiative in taking care of him and Lester because he knows it makes Bo feel better

Just like Bo, he was taught to play the piano growing up. He's pretty good at it, but he never had the same interest in it that Bo did. He enjoyed listening to music more than playing it

Vincent has a very broad taste in music, he listens to a lot of different genres. Classical music is pretty much exclusively for when he's sculpting or making any form of art in general

It's a habit he picked up from his mother. He finds it less distracting so it helps him concentrate more

Like Bo, he was also very good at sports growing up. Really all of the boys were (Bo was just the most involved in it so he got better than his brothers eventually). He's actually surprisingly active

He tries to take frequent breaks when working with wax, even if it's just for a tiny bit. If he doesn't, his muscles get very sore, making it hard for him to work later on

However, when I say he tries I really mean that he only remembers to take breaks with smaller projects. Bo and Lester (or even Jonesy) usually have to remind him to step away for a bit

Speaking of Jonesy, she is in fact Vincent's dog. Yeah, she's the family dog too, but Vincent is the one who found her and raised her

He was going for a walk in the woods and found Jonesy abandoned as a puppy. Even though she was young she was still much smaller than she should have been. Her mother and litter mates were nowhere to be found

So Vincent gently picks her up and carries her home in the pocket of his hoodie. He stays up all night feeding her and watching over her to make sure she recovers physically

Bo was surprisingly chill with Vincent keeping the puppy. As long as Vincent was responsible for taking care of her, he didn't mind having a dog around

Lester lost his shit when he found out Vincent took in a puppy (in a good way, of course)

Vincent basically treats her like his baby (we stan a girl dad) and takes VERY good care of her. She has a great diet, has constant play sessions, and is overall very well cared for

It bothers him when Lester sneaks her some roadkill meat because he's always scared about Jonesy potentially getting sick

Jonesy also sleeps in Vincent's bed with him and has seen his face more than his actual brothers have. She loves to give him kisses on the scarred side of his face and it makes him melt

When Bo first came up with the idea of killing people to use as a base for Vincent's wax sculptures, he was hesitant. Sure, he knew killing people was wrong, but he was more worried about the danger it could place his brothers in

But once he actually used the first victim as a live "model" of sorts, he was convinced that this was the perfect way to finish his mother's dream. It didn't take him a lot of convincing

His collection of knives are all gifts from Bo and Lester. They'd often either buy them or find them on victims before cleaning them up to give them to vincent

The dual dragon blades are his favorites because it was a combined present from Bo and Lester for Christmas

He has much more morbid curiosity in killing because of his father's work. He found anatomy very interesting (and not to mention useful when it came to sculpting people), so he often takes pictures or videos to use as references when painting or sketching

Alright, we've now reached the end of my insanity. I hope you all enjoyed my silly little writing spree. I may or may not write more Headcanons in the future, idk. You know every time I think about the story of House of Wax all I can really think about is the fact that Vincent and Bo’s dad is the one who did the surgery to separate them.

Which confuses me because I thought the whole reason the Sinclair family ended up in Ambrose was because Victor (their dad) lost his medical license for doing weird experimental treatment on patients when he wasn’t supposed to.

So like where the hell did Dr. Victor Sinclair get the supplies, medical facility, and assistance it would take in order to actually separate conjoined twins.

Why didn’t he take the boys to an actual licensed doctor to get them separated? They don’t even tell us if Dr. Victor Sinclair was even an actual surgeon or just like a general practitioner.

Like if you google it it’s illegal to perform surgery on a family member if there’s someone else available to do the surgery. And I know fucking disgraced Victor Sinclair wasn’t some incredible surgeon specializing in the separation of conjoined twins.

We all know that. Vincent’s absolute hack job of a face makes that crystal clear.

Also I don’t understand if Dr. Victor Sinclair retained his medical license after the whole “giving patients experimental treatments when he wasn’t supposed to thing” but I don’t think he did, even if it was the 70s. So he 100% did the separation surgery sans license meaning he should have been in jail. Because that is a class C felony.

Especially considering just how disfigured Vincent is as a result of said surgery. Like it looks like they didn’t give Vincent a skin graft or anything, there’s just a great big hole in his face where the back of Bo’s head used to be attached to him.

Born to a turbulent family on a Mississippi farm, James Earl Jones passed away today. He was ninety-three years old. Abandoned by his parents as a child and raised by a racist grandmother (although he later reconciled with his actor father and performed alongside him as an adult), the trauma of his childhood developed into a stutter that followed him through his primary school years – sometimes, his stutter was so debilitating, he could not speak at all. In high school, Jones found in an English teacher someone who found in him a talent for written expression, and encouraged him to write and recite poetry in class. He overcame his stutter by graduation, although the effects of it carried over for the remainder of his life.

Jones' most accomplished roles may have been on the Broadway stage, where he won three Tonys (twice winning Best Actor in a Play for originating the lead roles in 1969's The Great White Hope by Howard Sackler and 1987's Fences by August Wilson) and was considered one of the best Shakespearean actors of his time.

But his contributions to cinema left an impact on audiences, too. Jones received an Honorary Academy Award alongside makeup artist Dick Smith (1972's The Godfather, 1984's Amadeus) in 2011. From the end of Hollywood's Golden Age to the dawn of the summer Hollywood blockbuster in the 1970s to the present, Jones' presence – and his basso profundo voice – could scarcely be ignored. Though he could not sing like Paul Robeson nor had the looks of Sidney Poitier, his presence and command put him in league of both of his acting predecessors.

Could I possibly slide this idea over…

House of Wax… are you trying to tell me those men are doing makeup on wax figures? Because there is NO WAY IN HELL BO IS DOING IT. That man would get ANGRY if the wings weren’t even! Victor- I can see him doing it. So I present this thought. The reader teaches Victor about makeup and tricks to do it. Victor won’t let you do it on the actual wax people, but he’ll give you fake wax faces to show him and help him learn.

Teaching Vincent Makeup

Vincent Sinclair x Reader

Vincent would probably get the idea to have you teach him first. He’s a very secure man. He knows he’s talented and he isn’t afraid to admit his short comings.

He either gets the idea by seeing you put on makeup and getting impressed by how easy you made it look, or you criticize the makeup that is done on one of the wax figures, commenting that the blush looks too heavy or the eye makeup is wonky. He knows that you have makeup on usually, and he quickly gets to work on a few wax faces to practice on.

You learn that Vincent has been using his run of the mill paint on the wax faces, and even though you don’t know as much about wax, you know that this won’t mimic the look of real makeup. So, you teach him ways to use some real makeup on his wax that’ll look more natural and aesthetically pleasing for his beautiful figures.

He will struggle the most with the lips, surprisingly. His favorite part is drawing on eyelashes, delicate lines and beautiful swoops come naturally to him, but the softness he needs to achieve for the lip like to look natural frustrates him. The first few practice faces end up looking like they’re toddlers getting into their mothers lipstick, thick lines of red smudged over the lip line.

Even though Vincent is a painter first, he has a hard time translating this to using the different materials. He commends you for looking so beautiful each day, and when he finally gets the hang of it, he’ll be so excited to actually make an official wax figure of a beautiful woman with bold lipstick and pretty eyeliner. He’ll go get you and bring you to the House of Wax immediately, showing off his hard work and your tutoring skills.

You’re so proud of him for not only admitting something he can’t do so well, but taking the time to learn and execute it in a way that makes both him and you proud. You love him, and every single time he makes a new figure, you take extra time to tell him how good the makeup looks.

Yet something else the movie left out. We heavily imply Dr Victor did the surgery and with both boys the surgery went wrong (Doing something to Bo's brain with his angry outbursts and of course Vinny's face) but the script comes out to just say it.

Like, the Sinclair parents really weren't shit. They both cared more about their image and careers than they ever did their sons.

Imagine being more concerned with money and keeping a practice going and arrogantly thinking you could do a life threatening surgery just fine on your kids by yourself because you're just such a good surgeon and if you fuck it up all well it's better than having attention drawn to you and not being able to be a back alley doctor in a small town making money like wtf fuck my kids! If it fucks their lives up who could've predicted?

And I thought in the movie he lost it for seperating the twins when ACTUALLY he lost it before even having them with Trudy so Sir what kinda fucked up shit were you doing???

“You look half dead.” Zee Snoops remarked as Hannah trudged over to her.

“Darius and Willow are sick, Elara won't stop crying, Marcys and Lysander aren't eating, and Fiona won't stop talking about the place with the trees that she came from.” The eight year old pirate captain groaned, slumping down in her chair in her room/office. “I FEEL half dead.”

It had been a long year since she had first taken Fiona (age four), Marcys and Elara (age 1),and Lysander (age 2) and since then she had taken in two newborns (Darius and Willow) from their dying single parents. 

That wasn't even counting Noah, also four, who spent the majority of his time with them like his older siblings did when his mother, Persephone, was gone for the Spring. Or little Thomasina 'Tommy' Wonderful, age five, who spent most of her time with them when her mother was too sick to care for her. Which, due to the magical barrier and her mom being a witch, was often.

Or the various funerals they'd been having to handle for their dead friends.

Or the comforting they'd had to do for their friends with recently dead relatives.

To say they were all exhausted would be an understatement.

Zee picked at her cuticle. “I don’t know what you were expecting, trying to parent half the island’s children.”

The smaller brunette rolled her eyes. “It is not half the isle’s children! And if I don't take care of them, no one will. The last thing the isle needs is more deaths.”

“We could pawn some off to your sister,” Zee suggested.

“No we can't. Harriet already had to take care of your sister, the wee smees, the Younger twoClayton brothers, Wyatt Wiggins, Na’vi, and the Lefou-LeGume-Bimbette children,  among others.” Hannah grumbled, frustrated. “And she's stressed enough as it is.”

“You’re stressed enough as it is.” She pointed out, deadpan. “And we have, like, no money left. At all.”

“We have enough money. We just need to make more and I'm sure we will figure something out.” She rested her head in her hand. “I just need to figure out what that is. Hopefully before Skia and Luke get off work and River gets out of school.”

Zee rolled her eyes. “Gee, if only you could get paid for being…you, Hannah. Like, negotiating with people, finding loopholes, and getting people to do the right thing. We’d be fucking loaded.”

An odd look overcame Hannah’s features. The same look that crossed that of Nya Kaminari’s  in Auradon’s Ninja Warriors when a light bulb appeared above her head. 

The only cartoon either of them had ever seen. 

The same look that both the cartoon ninja and Hannah always got before they got one of their crazy ideas that rarely ended well. 

“Ohhhhhhhh no. You got them crazy eyes again.” Zee leaned back from her friend, like she expected her to explode.

The smaller girl got up, suddenly full of the energy she'd been lacking lately. A slightly deranged smile slowly creeping on her face—one that made it easy to remember just who she was related to. “Zee?”

“....yeah?”

She clapped her hands together, before rubbing them against one another,  almost bouncing on her feet now. “I think I just found the perfect solution to all of our problems.”

Zee blinked at Hannah, before it finally sunk in what she meant. “Wait, you’re actually gonna try to get paid by being yourself?!?”

Her captain smiled innocently at her. “Something like that.”

It was official: Hannah Hook had finally lost her fucking mind. 

And her first and second mates, Lucas  ‘Luke’Tremaine-Westergaard and Skia Aoratos of the Underworld, as well as her other close confidante, Bernard ‘River’ Le Beak, had lost their minds with her. 

“You’re all going to hell. Goodbye!” Zee had facepalmed so many times in the last few hours, she was sure to have a permanent mark on her forehead.

“Hey that's my line!” Eduardo Frollo, the main cooper of the crew, (who was one of the few other people present at the moment) protested. 

The others, on the other hand, just ignored her.

“You son of a bitch, I'm in.” Luke said, snapping his fingers after Hannah finished explaining her idea.

River mumbled “It's crazy enough that it might just work.”

“We should call a meeting and tell the others—” Skia hummed, bouncing Elara on her knee. 

“Pause. We shall not call a meeting to tell the others. Why do y'all motherfuckers think that this will work!?”

“Cause it will!” Hannah said, feeding a fussier than usual Darius with a bottle she had somehow managed to get her hands on in the twenty minutes that Zee had spent gathering all the crew members she could. “I don't know why you think all of a sudden that it won't. This whole operation was your idea.”

It was an awful bold statement coming from someone wearing pirate footie pajamas. 

“I WAS BEING SARCASTIC!”

Hannah paused. 

And Luke snorted. “Well, it's too late now. Hannah and Skia already started drawing up the plans and making risk… ass-ess-ments.”

“And if it doesn’t work, we can always bite them.” Tiger added from the rafters, startling all of them—except for Hannah, who somehow knew she was there. What bullshit. 

“Tiger no, we can’t just bite paying customers—”

“But I can.  I don’t have a problem with it—”

Luke nodded. “She makes a good point—”

Zee facepalmed…again. “Well, guess we’re gonna hafta see how this shitstorm plays out. Can’t wait to see it crash and burn.”

“I'll get my dad’s final rights speech ready.” Eduardo snickered, leaning on a mop. 

Skia shot him an unamused look, blue hair falling in her face. “Isn't it last rites? And you're still in trouble! Get back to mopping!”

“Tomato, Tamoto.”

All of the Stormbringer’s crew members were crammed on the ship’s deck, waiting for their captain to make her announcement.

Hannah walked out from behind the curtains she'd put up, tri fold board in hand and dressed in her finest clothes.

“Oh boy. Here we go.” Zee muttered sarcastically. Someone shushed her.

Hannah cleared her throat, setting up the board and grabbing her sword. “I'm sure you're all wondering why you're all here.”

“I mean, this is…our ship. So no, not reall—OW!”

The brunette sighed. “Thank you Treycor, but you really don't need to hit your brother to shut him up.”

“You're welcome, Captain.”

The pirate straightened up. “Does anyone else have any questions or remarks before we get started?”

Darcy raised her hand. “Uh, yeah. Why are you dressed like that, Cap?”

“Because this is a special occasion!”

“That’s never a good sign.” John muttered.

“You don’t know the half of it.” Zee stage whispered in response to him.

Hannah ignored them, readjusting her blood red doublet frock jacket along with her equally as red Bicorn hat. Trying to look somewhat serious and sophisticated. “I'll take that as a sign to start—”

“Go ahead, Hannah!” Peachy grinned and gave her a thumbs up.

The brunette smiled at her. “Thank you Peachy! Alright, so, Zee gave me a brilliant idea for how we can make a livin’—”

Isaac cringed. “That’s not a good sign–”

“Shhh. You've had your chance to talk—” Hannah waved the seven year old off. “—now, as I was saying, Zee gave me the idea to charge people for what I do. Meaning—”  A spot line shined down on the trifold board, revealing the words ‘Villain Wrangler and Isle Representative Hannah Hook’ written in big, messy, uneven letters. 

Words that were clearly written in crayon. With many, many, childish doodles strewn about the surface of the board, such as King Beast with his head cut off, Skia’s sister Mal with her hair shaved off, Gaston being eaten by a crocodile, and Frollo in a frilly princess dress.

Zee was on the defensive even before the crew turned to stare at her. “Okay, FIRST OF ALL–”

The brunette quickly continued. Cutting her off. “—that I am going to become the isle’s representative and villain wrangler with y’all’s help!”

Dead silence.

“...yay?” Peachy clapped a few times. “What does that mean, exactly?”

Hannah beamed at her. Clasping her hands together (almost stabbing herself in the process, as she was still holding her prized sword ‘The Nut Slicer’ in her hands). “I'm glad you asked! It means that—” 

She gestured at the ink stained, dirty, ruffled board with the sword. “—we need to make flies to pra-mote our new business and set up a phone line,” She moved the sword down before continuing “as well as make contracts and business cards after we decide what our terms and… con-ditions?”

Hannah looked at Yen Sid’s daughter, Hope— one of the oldest living member of the crew at twelve years old—to see if she was saying it right. 

She reserved a thumbs up and a reassuring smile in response. 

“So…you plan to make money from…what? Being nice to people?” Darcy wrinkled her nose.

Hannah shook her head, bouncing on her feet. “No, no. From manipulating people into doing what I want them to do to make our lives better and–and…” She paused for a long few minutes. Before settling on “And making their lives better in the pro-cess or making them think their lives are better if they're a big meanie.”

John nodded, like she’d just said something wise. “I like that plan.”

Treycor, on the other hand, did not like the plan if the way he had his head in hands said anything. Which it did. “Y’all are out of your Zeusing minds.”

Olivia, who usually just tolerated Treycor, was mirroring his pose. Looking like she was regretting ever joining the crew.

Moxie apparently agreed. “Zee, why did you put her up to this?”

And Nate? He just cackled from the crowsnest where he and D.E (who's face they still hadn't seen because she still refused to take off her mask and hood, and Hannah kept telling them to drop it) were sitting. 

Zee spluttered. “I WAS BEING SARCASTIC!”

Hannah didn't seem even remotely bothered by their reactions. “So… does anybody have any questions or suggestions?”

When most of her crew left for the day (the ones that had somewhere else to go, that is), Hannah got out her colorful ink, favorite quill, and parchment paper and started drawing out plans.

Laying on her stomach on deck and kicking her feet up in the air, head in hand. 

“Whatcha doin’?” CJ’s voice was suddenly very close to her hearing aid.

Hannah jumped. “What are you doing on my ship?”

“I’m bored.”

“That’s not my problem and what have I told you about knocking!” 

“I did! You just didn’t hear me.” CJ’s all-to ‘innocent’ grin told Hannah that she did not, in fact, knock.

The younger girl scowled. “That's not funny and you know it! Only I'm allowed to make jokes about my hearing and eyesight! Daddy said so!”

“You can’t prove that I really didn’t knock! Because I did!”

Hannah tried to kick her. “Go away.”

“But I’m boooooooooored, Cradle Snatcher!” CJ promptly laid herself over Hannah, who swiped at her.

“And I'm working! Geeet off!”

“Working on what, a coloring book?” CJ snarked, decidedly not getting off.

“On a flier, assbeast! Now GET off or I'll kick you in the crotch!”

CJ snorted, but rolled off of her sister anyway. “That only works on boys, dingus!”

Hannah promptly kicked her in the crotch to prove just how wrong she was. 

“OW! Why you little–” CJ grabbed Hannah’s hand and bit it. 

Hannah yanked on her hair in retaliation and bit her cheek hard. 

CJ yelped and tried to smack Hannah, but her eyes caught the flier she’d been working on, and was instantly distracted. “What’s a ‘isle representative?’”

The brunette shoved her off of her and sat up, breathless. “My… new… job.. title! That I made myself!”

CJ wrinkled her nose. “What do you do?”

“I'm gonna make and enforce contracts between vks and vks, villains and villains, and henchmen and henchmen and so on. Mediate and negotiate. Oh and provide some ser-vices! Like… like a boss!”

CJ just blinked at her. “That's boring. You're boring.”

“I'm not boring, you're just stupid.”

“You’re stupider.” CJ stuck out her tongue.

“... My name is betterer than yours!”

“It is not!”

“Is too!”

“Is not!”

“Is too—”

do you have any thoughts about the sinclairs being cajun?

I think it's definitely plausible, although their surname is primarily of Scottish origin and not really linked to the Louisiana Arcadians. They could be deemed Cajun culturally and without necessarily having direct lineage to the Arcadians as other settler groups mixed with the Arcadians (Spanish/Basque, Irish, German, etc.) So it's really up to the individual's interpretation! Nothing in the House of Wax film jumps out at me that would suggest they're Cajun except for the area in which they live, Louisiana, and maybe the church since it looks like it might be Catholic. I think Bo mentions to Wade and Carly that Dr. Victor Sinclair, their father, moved the family to Ambrose but it's never clear where exactly they moved from. It could have been another town or city in Louisiana or it could have been in a completely different state. Unless the writers have made statements, notes, unused segments of the original script, or something similar that provides more information on their origins then it's basically up to the fans to interpret further. Though I don't have any detailed headcanons about them being Cajun, I do think it's interesting and could be a great addition to a fic if you want to really expand on their universe. 😁
