Dr. Theron Sherman X Researcher! Fem! Vampire! Reader Headcanons

Dr. Sherman is and was always open to befriending anomalies.

So his girlfriend being one—a vampire in particular—wasn’t a shock to anybody in Site-42.

With Theron himself being the site director and his girlfriend being a researcher (him practically being her boss), there were obviously people who called their relationship unprofessional and unethical.

Did either of them care?

Absolutely not.

Since vampires can’t see their reflections, I think she would always go to Dr. Sherman to make sure she looks good and nothing’s out of place after getting ready.

Vampires can’t have garlic! Dr. Sherman always makes sure that his girlfriend’s food doesn’t have any of that in whatever she’s eating when they go out.

Dr. Sherman is such a softie. His girlfriend definitely has given this man Squishmellows.

And he totally schedules her sessions with 999 when she’s having a bad day :)

Since vampires can’t be out in the sun, Dr. Sherman will go and run errands for his girlfriend!

And also, since vampires are nocturnal, Dr. Sherman has drastically changed his sleep schedule in order to spend more time with his girlfriend <3

I sincerely apologize for how short this was, I really wish I could’ve made it longer, but I’ve been suffering from writer’s block, and I really didn’t want the requester to have to wait any longer. I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless!

Private log 1 : The Escape of Doctor Owens

Hello there. My name is Dr. Catherine Sherman Owens, however, I'm more well known as Dr. Owens or my nick-name Cathy. I am of female gender identity and 22 years of age. I was a junior researcher at the SCP foundation, specifically stationed at Site 42, along with my cousin, Dr. Theron Sherman. I've only left the foundation recently. At the time of this log recording, it has only been 3 days since I ran from my old place of work. I had never wanted to truly leave the foundation but had no choice. If there was any chance of me surviving, it was far away from the foundation. I had been working on an experiment on scp 682 with Dr. Jack Bright. Because of Bright's actions, the experiment went terribly wrong, and SCP 682 breached containment. But, when the foundation got 682 back in containment, I had tried to explain that it was Dr. Bright who had caused it to happen, the files were edited, so it was never recorded with him being a part of the experiment. They had assumed that the containment breach was my fault and were going to demote me to D-class. I had always had pity on our D-class personnel, wondering if there was a more humane way to test our experiments. I know how D-classes are ruined because of our experiments and how they never get anything close to a break. I knew that I was going to die in some horrible way if I was demoted, so I had to run. I found the machine that allows MTF agents to travel universes, put coordinates for a random universe, prayed to our long and merciful lord that I would end up in a safe universe away from the foundation and jumped through. I'm now at the outskirts of a large metropolis. According to the locals, this city is known as Tumbler Town. Anomalies don't seem to be contained in this universe, as anomalous creatures seem to converse with normal people. There is also the presence of superhumans taking on the roles of superheroes and Supervillains. I believe this universe might not have a branch of the foundation and hope to find a new place of work here. If the foundation finds me again, I have no idea what will happen...

I’d like to remind you all that Dr. Theron Sherman, director of site 42, thinks the gun that makes things shitty is “pretty cool”. (See link for more info.) The nerfing gun was one of the Gamers Against Weed’s most valuable weapons against the stoners until its capture by the antagonistic janitors. Details of its history are sketchy, but the only problem I have with this is the fact that its inventor would’ve had to have thought of something worse than weed to make use of it in battle. The Astronaut’s Wife (1999)

While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...

Rosemary’s Baby is given a fresh coat of paint in The Astronaut’s Wife. Well, theoretically anyway. Neither sexy nor scary, it’s the kind of movie that might’ve had potential but didn’t even try. Talk about a letdown.

After a communications blackout while orbiting the earth, NASA astronaut Spencer Armacost (Johnny Depp) returns home to his wife, Jillian (Charlize Theron), and vows never to fly again. When his co-pilot Streck (Nick Cassavetes) suddenly dies and Spencer begins exhibiting strange behavior, Jillian wonders if he's still human, and what sort of baby is growing inside her.

If you’ve seen Rosemary’s Baby there’s no reason to see this film. If you haven’t you may not be able to foresee the story’s beats… but I doubt it. Everything it does you’ve seen better elsewhere. We’re supposed to wonder whether Jillian is imagining the strange noises she hears coming from the radio, if Spencer’s radical personality shift is nothing to be alarmed about and if Dr. Sherman Reese (Joe Morton)/his theories are pure hogwash. You never do. There is simply too much evidence siding towards the theory of Spencer having been replaced or somehow possessed by some kind of extraterrestrial being. You would only believe him human if a) we received concrete proof that Marzoids don’t exist b) someone proved they do exist but have better things to do than spawn human-alien babies or c) Jillian was just a straight jacket away from the loony bin or otherwise untrustworthy. You might’ve been able to get away with it if the character of Sherman Reese wasn’t there. As a matter of fact, why is he in this movie?

The Astronaut’s Wife would’ve been better if it were worse. You’ve got Johnny Depp. You’ve got Charlize Theron. It’s about a woman who thinks she’s been impregnated by a little green man but there’s no nudity and no tantalizing sex scenes. Talk about lame. I was bored waiting for the film to catch up to what I already knew. I know you’d be bored too. The only thing that could have saved this movie was a brilliant conclusion.

The ending is a double whammy of lame horror-wannabe twists which will have you rolling your eyes. No satisfying answers are given, and nothing cool is shown. It really is a generic “is my baby the devil?” movie where someone did a find-replace to switch “Satan” with “Spaceman”.

I guarantee after it’s done, no one who saw The Astronaut’s Wife will give it a second thought, even if they do manage to stay awake during the whole thing. When you leave the audience fondly looking back at Species 3, you’ve got problems. (On VHS, March 15, 2019)

Addendum 049.3: 04/16/2017 Incident

Starting shortly after SCP-049's initial containment, Dr. Hamm conducted a number of interviews with the subject regarding its anomalous properties, and over time began to note its displeasure with its subjects and the SCP-049-2 instances. This continued for a period of several months, during which SCP-049 never exhibited any aggressive behaviours.

On April 16th, 2017, as Dr. Hamm was entering SCP-049's test chamber to conduct another routine interview, the entity began to grow anxious and asked Dr. Hamm if he was feeling well. Following protocol, Dr. Hamm reminded SCP-049 that the interview was required, after which the entity became hostile and attacked Dr. Hamm, killing him. Due to a lapse in security protocol, and because Dr. Hamm did not activate the in-chamber emergency system, Dr. Hamm's corpse was not discovered until three hours later, by which point SCP-049 had converted it into an instance of SCP-049-2.

In the aftermath of this incident, SCP-049 was interviewed by Dr. Theron Sherman.

Interviewer: Dr. Theron Sherman, Site-42

Dr. Sherman: I need you to explain yourself.

(No response)

Dr. Sherman: SCP-049, you are being directed to explain your actions, and I will remind you that failure to cooperate will result in further restrictions during your containment.

SCP-049: (Pauses) My actions do not need to be explained.

Dr. Sherman: You killed Raymond Hamm and then butchered him until he-

SCP-049: (Interrupting, angrily) Not dead! No! Not… not dead. He is… he is cured.

Dr. Sherman: Cured? Cured of what?

SCP-049: The Pestilence, sir! I had thought you, at least, would realize what luck it is I detected it before-

Dr. Sherman: (Interrupting) What pestilence? You keep going on and on about this pestilence but you have not once been able to properly identify this "disease". What could you have possibly seen in him today that you had not seen so many times before? That it would be worth his life?

SCP-049: He… (pauses) The Pestilence presents and progresses in unforeseeable fashions, and has a queer way of- of creeping into the unprepared, and… (breathing becomes heavier) call it what you want, doctor. It was a mercy I did to him. He is cured.

Dr. Sherman: He is a vegetable!

SCP-049: (Pauses) I… I would not expect you to understand. You and your… your ilk have proven time and time again to be not men of science, but men of- of emotion. You cannot appreciate the horrors I have seen, those many millions who have succumbed to the Pestilence and been changed, who-

Dr. Sherman: Your cure cost Ray his life!

SCP-049: No good SIR I have saved it! You would allow this world to slip back into the, the- the despair of disease and death, ignoring that I have created a miracle and-

Dr. Sherman: (Talking over SCP-049) What disease? What pestilence? He was a healthy man! He was a good doctor!

SCP-049: -am offering it freely to the afflicted! You are not worth this argument, sir. You are shortsighted and foolish. Dr. Hamm was sick, and I… (breath catches) I cured him. I am the only one who can do this. My work must continue, there is so much still to learn, so much to-

Dr. Sherman: I've had enough of this. Consider your allowances revoked. Welcome to containment, oh-four-nine. (Away from mic) We're done here.

SCP-049: -do, and others can be saved! Even you, though you do not deserve it, might be saved! I can save them all! I can cast down this plague, once and for all. I can do this! Only me! I… I… (labored breathing) I saved… I saved him… Dr. Hamm, I… I cured him… he was sick, I know he was sick, I know he was, and I… you are all sick, but I… I can save you. I can save all of you, because I… I am the cure.
