Going from a 9-5 to chasing my Passions, it was never an easy switch but a choice I would never regret. It was something that didn't happen over night but it was often seen from the outside as an overnight success. Simply because I was doing what I wanted to do, unlike a vast majority who are stuck and hate their 9-5's. After all the pitfall that was the end of my corporate career landed me at bottom of the hole/ground zero. But it was at my worst moments that somehow I shined the brightest. Picking myself up off the ground, I went at starting my business with a vengeance. It all began with the 1st call I made to my 1st potential client. What changed? Well it was when I was at my lowest that my desperation finally became my hardest instigator. Somehow I got the courage up and I brought to life a little dream that I named DPomalesCreative. It was a simple idea that I had to go into business for myself and find zero opposition or competition in my field of interest. We are a support services company offering our experience and skillsets as services, meaning we utilize many of our abilities and experience to help you or your business to thrive in or survive the never ending growing pains that exist in any business. In doing so, we have found great pleasure in helping others. Thats where we find the most gratification. We have found even greater success in our ability to survive and thrive in such a hostile economic time. We adapt and blend to the world around us. One thing was for certain, I was not going to go backwards or fail. This had to happen! There was no other choice as I was not going back to another useless 9-5. My time with such a waste of effort was done. This was gonna work no matter what. And that's what I told myself 15 years ago. To this day , now a Freelancer of such a span of time I can say I made the right choice at the right time. I am a Photographer.. a Graphic Designer and A Writer by trade... Those roles are the most key elements in DPomalesCreative. From there it branches off into Branding/Marketing. Now in my corporate career the jobs I had usually engaged or offered me an educational benefit to the roles I currently hold. Meaning, the jobs I took always offered me something to learn or takeaway in return. No job was ever a waste of time. Some jobs helped me become a better Photographer. Some jobs furthered my Graphic Design experience. Do you get what I mean? As I've said many times, I've always chased my passions. So I was always strategic in the roles I took on or acquired as employment. That being said, it's been my passions that have inspired and pushed me to be a better person in business and in life. And in retrospect, my passions have blossomed and flourished in so many ways. My experience in so many different fields and industries makes me vastly prepared to handle a variety of scenarios or situations. But it has been my passions that have lead me the whole way. They have built the man/persona you see today. All I can say is, chasing your passions is the most fulfilling and freeing feeling I've ever felt. So o yourself a favor and offer yourself at least 1 opportunity to chase your passions. You will never regret it. I have always been a creative since as far back as I can remember. Last I can recall was around 5 years old taking art classes instead of going to recess. I've always been able to do what I wanted to do. Why, because I make it so. But getting back to topic, my many jobs and lengthy work history have allowed me the ability to blend and morph into many different identities/roles. Meaning I wear many hats with ease. Wearing these many hats allows me to provide a variety of services. This variety of Creative Services allows me to work cross-platform in many areas with little concern for switching gears, as they say. And so, long story short, I have clients that need those various services. So Far this week: (1) I've pulled a Rabbit out of a hat... By finding a backdrop hidden in a dark deep closet without my recollection of it being placed there by me. Let's just thank my Guardian Angel for psychic abilities. (2) I've worked with 2 photography companies helping them to grow their business. One as a Photographer and the Second as a Floater helping them both to satisfy the needs of their client(s) and to fulfill the event requirements. (3) I've worked (working with) a RockiN Roll legend now in the HardRock Museum of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame... for a double page spread in a global Magazine for Daytona Beach Bike Week (4) I've worked (working with) a Political Giant...making big changes in our State Congress!! Needing a new logo for a new Local Festival. As she embraces her community and district. (5) Ive worked with an International Soccer League engaging the thousands of fans during live production at Universal Studios and Rocked it!!! You see... this is simply what I do. I have been a Freelancer since 2008. It has certainly brought me great joy and freedom. It has allowed me to shift away from a corporate world career and into a contractor for higher position. I have found great satisfaction in being able to offer my abilities/skills as services to those in need at my chosen pay scale vs what others think I am worth. As we are here to be of service, it is with great pride that we can do so without hinderance, conflicts or worries. We are here to be of service. Working as a Freelancer, I have helped so many companies with their business needs. We have provided support to so many projects and events it's actually mind-boggling to think it took us so long to switch gears from corporate to freelance. I have found great success with little if any Marketing or Advertising. We have always been and remain as "word of mouth" advertising. It's been by the grace and support of our clients and network that we have remained in business. As 2022 comes to an end. We put our sights and focus on the year to come. Unfortunately, many of our clients or customers have had to close their business doors. So we have felt the repercussions or decline in business this past year. Regardless of the situation, we remain encouraged to push forward. In 2023, we look to expand our abilities and services or inevitably change our current direction and intentions to suit the needs of new clients/customers. We have seen massive growth in our Branding and Marketing services so much that it has carried us through these last few months. There is great importance in branding and marketing your company. So we have moved focus from some of our services (photography, graphic design) to make room on the schedule for new endeavors and opportunities. What's great about being freelance is the ability to switch hats. Each day, we are capable of wearing a different hat, but as a Freelancer we have the freedom to do so. BLoG: Receiving a Medal with a Message!

I received this medal from a small 5Krace I photographed just yesterday. It was a moral builder for a company, so there were maybe a few hundred in attendance. It was quite enough for 1 photographer to handle, but something we are highly trained to handle. Though I did not run the race I was running around trying to capture the many areas of interest. As a momento of their appreciation they gave me a medal for my participation in capturing the many moments that transpired throughoutthe 2 hour event. It was a very kind gesture indeed from the client as these medals are fairly heavy in weight and must have cost them a pretty penny, so to speak.

And today when I pulled it out of my pocket, it's message struck a chord in me. It is a New Year after all. It is indeed a BOLD NEW ERA for me, if I will it to be. Coincidentally, I am making some changes this year, behind the scenes, to improve the longevity and productivity of DPomales Creative Services. But Time will only tell how well we accomplish our goal...to leave a legacy of some sort. Or to make some sort of profound impact on those who seek out our help or look to us for answers in the form of our various manners of support that DPomales offers. We are here after all to provide business solutions that work and count.

A BOLD NEW ERA... is an amazing way to look at the possibilities of tomorrow and our future beyond today. Though we must live for today, there is nothing wrong with planning for our futures. It takes a brave soul to set out on such a journey. After all we must look past our horizon to see the bigger picture. It is a commitment to seek out new opportunities, new relationships, new projects, new everything. It is time to stop doing what doesn't work and start to discover new ways to make things happen or bring to fruition. Bottom line we have to find out what does work and focus on those elements. DAY 730 of 730 Today makes 2 years That I have been writing Man that shits exciting To think I have been Journaling Every Day for 730 days is crazy This therapy has worked greatly Allowing me to vent and explore My emotions and feelings Allowing me to rid myself of un-needed baggage seriously I've never felt better mentally I've gone down the rabbit hole deeply Further than I thought it could go really But I've made it to the other side bravely Facing all I had to face emotionally Life don't seem so bad as of lately 3 years of therapy Man Has it changed me I'm a walking miracle...baby!
