The dead always answered the Ghost King, and even the Master of Death had to obey the king.

So it didn't matter whether those who were resurrected were alive and not dead anymore. Those who were once dead would still have to answer to the Ghost King.

Voldemort learns that in a hard, humiliating way.

Especially when Danny Fenton, the long-lost twin of Harry Potter, comes back to Magical Britain.

Danny came here to meet his twin, and like hell, he would let that snake man harass his brother.

DP x HP Crossover Prompt

Okay so I don’t know why I need this but I do and have been thinking about it a lot.

There aren’t that many fics where Draco and Danny are brothers but I am so here for it. Hear me out. Not twins per say , a couple years apart and Danny is most likely younger. Listen…

Danny stolen as a baby, hired by someone who lost much in the war and wanted to give the Malfoy’s what they ‘deserved’. As a way to teach then a lesson the hired kidnapper decides to leave them with muggles, but not just any muggles, witch hunters. That’s right, the Fentons continue their ancestors work of hunting the supernatural, specifically witches.

Due to some spell or artifact, Danny is unable to be tracked and the Malfoy’s are forced to believe their second son is dead. It isn’t until their son’s name is written on the envelope for his Hogwarts letter because magic. Danny is eleven and Draco is in his fourth year.

The Malfoy parents, Severus Snape who is also the boy’s godfather, and a Ministry official all go to the address on the letter and find the Fenton’s. As a whole they are not impressed with the Fenton parents or their eccentricities.

They establish they are there to talk about the boy that lives there and the Fentons are confused but sure “oh you mean our son Danny!” Both of the Malfoy’s and Snape sneer at the plebeian name which of course the Fentons don’t notice.

They call him down and Danny slows to a stop as soon as he looks over the ‘guests’. Because yes he’s made friends with the local clockmaker who is kind of a grandfather to him and is a squib. He confined in the older man about the weird things that happen around him sometimes and Clocky has answers and explains about magic. Danny knows that these people are wizards and witches. Was this about his Hogwarts letter Clocky told him he should be getting? Do they know what his parents do for a living?

Narcissa and Lucius on the other hand are staring at this boy in recognition. The coal colored hair and jawline were unmistakably from the Black side of the family. The straight nose and body shape however came from the Malfoy side. A perfect mix of both parents.

Introductions are made and they can see the understanding in the boy’s eyes when Snape says he’s the potions master at Hogwarts. The Fentons don’t catch it, but they were studying the boy with hawk-like attention.

“Potions?” The large Fenton asks suspiciously.

Before they can start explaining why they were really here, the boy, their boy speaks up nervously.

“He means chemistry! They call it differently because Hogwarts is a special school,” he lies without remorse.

Yes, this was their son.

“Special school? Like for gifted students?” The woman Fenton clarifies.

Danny glances at them anxiously.

“Yea! Like that.”

The parents don’t ask him how he knows about Hogwarts even though this should be his first time hearing of it. Instead the woman turns to them in confusion.

“Then why did you ask for Danny? Did you mean our daughter?”

“Oh! Jazzy-pants is super smart, already reading college books I tell ya!”

They don’t notice Danny’s face crumble and his confidence wither right in front of them. Narcissa wanted to tear these people apart for being responsible for the bright light in his gorgeous crystal blue eyes dimming in self-doubt.

“Actually, it is different than you are thinking, we are wi-“

“Mom, Dad, did you tell them what you do?” Danny interrupts urgently.

“Young man-“ the Ministry official continues.

“That’s a great idea, Dann-o!”

Which leads to explaining they are witch hunters and they all just stand there processing what they were just told and figuring out how to go about this. And they look at Danny who gives them a ‘see?’ look that explains the interruptions. He was protecting them.

Oh he was definitely their son.

Danny eventually goes with them because duh and he finds out the name he was born with.

“Corvus? Like the constellation? The crow?”

Narcissa is so proud of her son, he already knows the stars and the story to his name.

There are some bumps in the road with Draco and him getting along, and yelling at Lucius for mistreating the elves because they have feelings too, and adjusting to wizarding life in general.

Danny (Corvus) mets Tucker, a muggleborn who was kinda in the same boat as him with learning this whole world, and Sam, a pure blood witch who’s parents were both Hufflepuffs but her grandmother is a seer and she might have inherited that gift.

Danny on the other hand seems to have gotten a gift from his mother’s side as well. Necromancy. Thus starts their adventures of skirting around the professors to learn magic for each of them that are not encouraged. Danny with necromancy, Sam with her seer abilities, and Tucker finds an interest in runes and arithmacy.

Don’t know about an actual plot but I think the idea could have potential. It’d also be funny if all three of them get sorted together in either Slytherin or Hufflepuff. And Draco trying to be a good brother, has warned him about a bunch of things before going to Hogwarts, one of them being Harry Potter and the golden trio. The first time Danny and his friends meet the golden trio, Ron makes a comment about him whether it’s about him being another snake or another Malfoy. Danny just blinks and they just look at each other.

“My brother was right about you. You guys are bullies.” And walks passed them, Sam shoulder-checks him and Tucker gives them the stank eye.

“WHAT”

Draco just being fiercely protective of his little brother he thought was dead. Danny being the baby of the family and the parents actually trying to do better to make him happy.

I just really enjoy this for some reason.

DPxHP Prompt: Haunted Twins

Harry and Danny are twins separated after the events of Halloween 1981 and Dumbledore/Clockwork sends Danny to live with the Fentons and for reasons you can come up with, neither twin is told about the other. Danny gets his powers years earlier and gets two years to be a ghost before his eleventh birthday, where someone unorthodox comes to get him, Sam and Tucker can come with if you want. The twins meet the day of Gringotts and Danny asks the Goblins if their parents had wills/blood tests to confirm relation and new keys. Danny learns that either Clockwork/infinimap shenanigans give him, Tucker and Sam an absurd amount of money.

At Hogwarts, the Haunted Twins and crew deal with the philosopher's stone, ghost attacks, and Danny has to deal with kingly business after the blood test revealed he was ghost royalty. Danny makes friends or remove hostilities from his rogues and he learns that he is a natural at magic.

Harry is encouraged by his new brother to do good in his schoolwork and together they cause chaos for the forces at play at Hogwarts that want the downfall of Harry

Vlad can have a redemption or not, but he is somewhat involved during some actions at Hogwarts. Dani comes and visits sometimes, to the chagrin of the Hogwarts staff.

You can choose if Dumbledore is bashed or not. He could have been looking for ways to have Harry or Danny not have to die or anything.

I can't stop imagining various routes this can go...

From Danny slapping some sense in his descendants, Danny bailing Sirius out of jail when he feels something fishy about his imprisonment, trying to remake the Black line...

A lot can happen I want to write all of them...

Ok I want to preface this by saying fuck terfs and that I am posting this with death of the author(tm) in mind.

I’ve been completely loving all the dpxdc content that’s chokeholded me back into the fandom but a part of me misses some of the old crossover stuff like American dragon Jake long (and secret trio/quartet), supernatural, and Harry Potter. Just. So many unfinished fics lingering in my ao3 subscription pages.

So if anyone’s willing to go back and write in the hp verse (out of Just Kidding Rodentling’s sticky hands), I have a prompt!

Danny due to time travel shenanigans is somehow the ancestor of the Black family line. That’s why the traditional names are all stars and the traces of ectoplasm in the dna of all his descendants is the cause of the Black madness. Also why Sirius’s animagus form is a grim.

When back in show canon era, Danny has to come to terms that his family line is primarily known for being batshit bigots that did a lot of incest whose main branch was just wiped out in a war he never knew about.

Or maybe with some timeline finagling Danny ends up in book canon era where he looks up his last living direct descendant and finds him in wizarding jail for very bad things which doesn’t seem much better than the first option at first.

Also maybe Sirius’s dog form isn’t a grim but just Cujo.

An idea came to me and idk if people have actually done this. What if Jazz was a witch and competed in the Tri-Wizard (re-named Tetra-Wizard) Tournament as an American champion. She can attend either Ilvermormey or some other school (cause the US is too big for only one magic school). They would probably bring Danny in as the hostage for the second task.

One scene I keep thinking about is her and Harry being the ones to get the Cup/Portkey in the maze, and her being transported with him instead of Cedric. Imagine Danny’s reaction to that.

You could even add in some kind of relation between Harry and the Fentons (from cousins to twins with Danny). Maybe a little Ghost King Danny for some ✨pzazz✨

How do you choose your titles: remember how the entirety of 2018 i used only billy joel song lyrics? Don’t Ask Me Why

Do you outline: usually! I write by breaking stories up into pieces and leaving a quick line of summary for each piece, and then from there it just spirals into mass disorganisation (I don’t necessarily write the pieces in order) - but I do tend to have the ending in mind already because that’s the most important thing to me (and probably something that comes through in my writing). I dooon’t like writing without outlining because it makes me feel like I’m not in control (as if having an outline does! ha! lies!) and anyway, a lot of my stuff needs to be tightly plotted otherwise it just. devolves into very Little (i.e. a hot mess).Even in terms of character studies, which I adore but don’t usually have strong plot points, I’d plot out what I want to say about this character and then see how I can weave that into a story.

Complete: Literally never published an incomplete work in my life, i feel like it goes against my asian school work ethic

#1: Witch Hunters by sorenalice

Fandoms: DP & Harry Potter

Summary: “The Fentons are a family of witch hunters and anyone can be a muggle born. So of course, it had to be one of their own.”

Yes, yes, the obligatory HP crossover. But it’s very well written and the Fentons seems like they were always meant to be in this world. The lore is worked seamlessly into the narrative as Danny finds himself suddenly with a whole new slew of problems to deal with. Normally this trope is worn out, but this oneshot leaves me desperately wanting more.

#2: Burn the Streets, Burn the Cars by anthrop

Fandoms: DP & ParaNorman

Summary: “The boy at the door has a ghost under his skin. It's a close fit, but green light still seeps out. It paints him smeary shades of radioactive green. Under the smoky light you're fairly certain he's a teenager with dark hair, a couple years older than you. Beyond that, it's hard to make out details. When he looks at you, his eyes flare like glow-in-the-dark stars.”

One of, in fact quite possibly the best, 2nd person POV story I’ve ever read. It’s no secret that 2nd person is the hardest to write, and this story executes it darn well near flawlessly. The style of writing adds to the ethereal quality of the overall tale, and Norman’s thoughts (projected onto the reader’s own) are natural to that of a boy his age. Highly recommend.

#3: Collide by The Writer Es

Fandoms: DP & Chronicle

Summary: “"You're flying," "Um, yeah, I'm a ghost." He peered closer at the other guy. "Um, and you're obviously not a ghost, so, uh, what are you?" In which Danny is flying, and collides with a certain super-teen. Rated T for one swear and for mentions of killing.”

I don’t know if anyone else even remembers the 2012 movie Chronicle, but definitely don’t read this if you haven’t seen it. There’re spoilers (and it probably won’t make sense if you haven’t seen it). But I enjoy this story because it not only gives closure to one of the characters from the movie, but it’s an entertaining “what-if” of these two universes.

#4: A Half Ghost Mutant? and its sequels, Mutant Reality and An Ounce of Perspective is Worth More Than a Pound of 'Cure' by Miriam1

Fandoms: DP & X-Men

Summary (1st one): “During "Million-Dollar Ghost," Jack shot Tucker with ectoplasm, prompting him to ask, "I'm not going to grow a third arm, am I?" As responsible scientists, the Fentons tried to find the answer. Some unexpected people took interest in the answer as well.”

These take place during the 2000′s X-Men movies (aka: the best ones). Taken all together, these three can be quite the read, but I promise it’s worth it. The author does so so well in taking less-than-liked characters and delving into their minds to find the reasons for their actions. (There may be some redemption in there, too,,) This trilogy is action-packed, philosophical, and simultaneously heart-warming and heart-breaking. Five stars.

#5: Belief Is Like an Ice Cream Cone by MewWitch

Fandoms: DP & Rise of the Guardians

Summary: “One day two boys with ice at their fingertips meet. They decide to seal their newfound friendship with ice cream.”

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love Danny and Jack Frost interacting? We’ve all seen RotG at least once (and if you haven’t, you should). This oneshot is told from the perspective of the ice cream vendor, and that makes it all the more enjoyable and unique among its “DP/RotG-Danny-and-Jack-meet-and-shenanigans-ensue” brethren (imo). It’s short but sweet, and it couldn’t be better. Certainly it never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Maddie Fenton may not talk a lot about her family, but she comes from a squib line of the Lovegoods.

She is lucky she hadn't been disinherited by her family, especially since her youngest child, Danny, was born with the ability to use magic, and he's a powerful Seer too.

And now The Dark Side wanted her son because he could See, and he couldn't protect him in America and had to send him to Britain, exactly where the Death Eaters were.

Danny had told her it was important that he was to be there.

Bad things would happen if he wasn't there to prevent it.

She sometimes hated how her son's ghost obsession involved some type of hero-complex.

When the Dark Lord cast the killing curse on Harry Potter on 31 October 1981, it did kill the baby... but not all the way.

Harry Potter was half-dead, an Halfa.

And that fact was never discovered till Danny Phantom proved the existence of ghosts to muggles, who began to question if others supernatural creatures existed.

Harry was watching the telly when Phantom appeared on the news, and the young wizard started to connect the dots about how he could turn intangible and invisible if he wished, and why he was more comfortable in the presence of the dead.
