I’ve been high on Heirloomist book launch fumes for months. I’m an author now! I tell stories about stuff!

One phone call from @lauradoyleny brought me right down to humble in the best possible way.

Laura is the second generation steward of her family’s business,  @doylenewyork, the legendary auction house whose job it has been for over 60 years to celebrate heirlooms, honor their stories, and preserve their histories for future generations.

Laura was calling about a collaboration. Wait what. Me? *pinches own arm.

Together we masterminded these two Heirloomist photographs which will be auctioned this weekend in East Hampton, NY at the18th Annual East Hampton Antiques and Design Show Benefit —one of the year’s largest fund raisers for the East Hampton Historical Society. Doyle is a sponsor.

Money raised from the event goes to educational programs in the community and there is no better cause for my work than reminding the kids where they come from! ☺️

While photographing these hats on location at the Historical Society, I even got sprinkled with that Heirloomist magic—I learned one of the hats belonged to the man for whom the street I live on is named after. God I love a small town with deep roots.
