Alright, hi. And thank you for your insight and opinions. I really appreciate them. I do. But in regards to everything you've mentioned, I have a few counter opinions of my own.
As for the Snow Elves, we know that Vyrthur lived as long as he did because he was turned into a Vampire by another Snow Elf initiate in the Chantry. (one we would assume is dead by now). But Gelebor has also been alive for as long, without being undead or 'immortal'. And Gelebor himself says that, while it may be highly unlikely (and possibly highly improbable, given how much time has passed since the Snow Elves supposedly went extinct or evolved into the current 'Falmer'), that there may be small conclaves of Snow Elves remaining in the world.
And that was entirely my reasoning for creating Azariel and her clan. The chances that some Snow Elves escaped Mereth when the Atmorans came back are there. It's not as if Cyrodiil was non-existant at the time, and the chances of there having been strict border control in that Era were probably very slim. Not to mention the Snow Elves wouldn't be highly affected by the weather passing over the mountains. Chances are there could be Snow Elves, but there are so few of them, and they live in hiding to avoid detection, that no one ever sees them.
And that's what I did with Azariel's clan. Not to mention the added effect of including Illusion magic to blend in with other races. Which is the only reason her clan has survived for so long.
In regards to the 'seer/foresight' bit, I would have to refer you to the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Mage's Guild questline. During the beginning of that questline, as you try to get recommendations from the different Guild Halls, you meet an Altmer mage character who has visions. And in fact, even one of her ancestors had visions. I find it highly doubtful that the foresight ability would be restricted to any one or two races, as that sort of power could appear in anyone, of any race or gender.
And yes, the Elder Scrolls offer a look into both the past and the future. And in fact, when read by a Moth Priest who has taken the careful precautions needed to read the scroll, they obtain what would be considered a full view of the past or future that can be discovered through the scrolls. The Elder Scrolls offer a 'True Sight' when read, but at the cost of one's sight.
When it comes to Azariel's visions, I have only ever made reference to her visions being in the future. She can't see into the past. And her visions are blurry, fogged, and often shadowed to the point where she can't understand them. It's not like reading an Elder Scroll. Everything is uncertain and she never knows whether or not the vision will eventually come true or not, as these random insights often show things that happen decades into the future, and the future is always subject to change. Her visions don't always show her what she expects and they're usually too foggy to understand or even see anything clearly. In fact, she never really sees anything clearly in them, and they come on at the most random of moments (sometimes in the middle of fighting). She has no control over it, not like one would have control over when they decide to read an Elder Scroll for whatever purpose.
Also, I've never tied in the whole birthmark + seer thing. Both of those things exist with Azariel for different reasons. Yes, that means I actually had a reason for the birthmark, though I myself am still unsure as to what exactly that reason is (which is why I'm inclined to just nix the whole birthmark business). But the visions are what led Azariel to Skyrim. It was made as part of who she is, but also as a plot device to get her to Skyrim in the first place.
Yes, Azariel hates the Thalmor and that may have eventually led her to Skyrim, but not likely at the exact timing as in-game. I would imagine there would still be plenty of Thalmor running around in Cyrodiil, and if it hadn't been for the fact that Azariel's visions were leading her elsewhere, she would have stayed in Cyrodiil. She wouldn't have left at all, and this blog would be kind of pointless in the whole Skyrim rp thing. Unless people were willing to have their characters drop everything to visit Cyrodiil just to interact with my character, which again seemed pointless.
And as for the whole thing with Gelebor, sure, it would make sense to have a Canon Snow Elf be the savior of their race (in a manner of speaking), but Gelebor is the Knight-Paladin of the Chantry. He's basically a Holy Warrior, and he gave a vow that he wouldn't leave the Wayshrine or the Chantry unprotected. So the chances of him travelling and 'saving' the remaining Snow Elves, or even getting them to the Chantry just don't exist. And there are no other Canon Snow-Elves in Skyrim that we know of.
Not to mention that with all the other Snow Elf OCs I've seen so far, I haven't seen any others come up with a similar idea. And that's not to say I want Azariel to be super special. Like I said, I was trying to avoid that. I didn't want anyone to think that she was meant to be this super special and amazing Snow Elf or anything. And even if I decided to go with that storyline for her, Azariel still has a lot of issues. She's not exactly the best character around, nor would she be the sort of 'savior' anyone would expect. But she would still be able to do something for her people, and her family (since she's constantly worried about them being discovered by the Thalmor or Aldmeri Dominion as she believes the other clans were found by them).
Even though it may seem like I'm trying to justify all of the details here, I'm still not entirely sure. I'm still mulling over whether or not I wanna play Azariel as something more than she is. And it's not like Azariel herself knows of any of this 'importance'. And she likely won't know about any of it unless someone would be willing to roleplay the plotline with me. As in, if I roleplayed with a Gelebor willing to 'point out' all of her traits and label her as a savior (because Gelebor is the only character likely capable of placing that label anyway), which again seems doubtful, Azariel will never actually come to that twist in her storyline. Or at the very least, she will continue to remain unaware of her so-called 'destiny'.
#dovahvamp#thank you so much for the input#the only reason this is so long is#there are in fact Canon things in the ES lore#that allow me to think about this sort of plot seriously#but as i said the first time i didn't want to go that direction with Azariel#and yet at the same time i kinda do#because although Azariel is certainly no hero#she would do ANYTHING to protect her family and her clan#and if that resulted in her finding them in Cyrodiil to lead them to the Chantry#and in turn lead other Snow Elves to the Chantry#she would do that#while her other goal includes destroying the Thalmor#some might view her as a savior#and others might only see a Snow Elf trying to do what she thinks is best for her people#and Azariel is by no means a Prophet#nor would she ever consider herself some prophecied savoir#*savior because she isn't#at least she just doesn't see herself that way#important muse stuff

Just give me an umbrella and a meal and maybe I can last 5 minutes, tops, sunbathing.
"As long as it's near sundown and you can carry my ass to the nearest shrine come nightfall to keep me from turning." He actually considered it. The male wasn't like normal vampires anyway, even if he was still terrifying.

Elder Scrolls Opener from halcyonsMonolith
Hal sat on the roadside. By Akatosh, this world was so much different. So basic and so small, he thought. The cold Skyrim wind whipped at his black longcoat, which looked similar to the radicalistic Thalmor Justiciars he'd seen before. However, he wore a white Dragon Priest mask that he made for himself in his own time, to not only conceal his identity to protect himself temporally, but also because he liked Dragon Priest masks from the old text books.
He looked about. The scenery was utterly beautiful. almost as beautiful as the silver skyscrapers the Y'sraler brought from his era.
He grimaced. He needed to stop the Y'sraler from arriving, and that involved 'Enlightening Nirn'. That basically meant 'Tell Nirn that stars are big balls of burning gas and are not holes into Aetherius' and things of that sort. The more scientifically prepared they were, the better they had a chance of beating the Y'sraler, should they come.
He glanced to Whiterun. Maybe he should start there?
He stood up and approached the city, passing through the gates after a brief greeting to the guards outside. He had to stay strong, or people won't believe him. Who would believe a person with a stutter that's trying to tell them that their perception of the universe was wrong? That would ruin his chances at getting word across to these people.
But now that he was in Whiterun, what exactly was he going to do to get everyone's attention? He didn't know how to call a crowd's attention. Not to mention if he were to stand on a box and start ranting, they'd probably give him strange looks, or even throw things at him. He might even get detained for 'breaking the peace' or something of the sort.
With this in mind, he proceeded to walk about Whiterun, observing the people, and seeing what the best course of action would be.
#Elder Scrolls RP#AU: Hal comes back from the future to stop an alien invasion on Nirn#dovahvamp#anyone can reply to this though~! ^^

dovahvamp said: -There is a slight flicker of fire magic on his fingers- Really? Have you ever seen a dick? When someone’s in use of it? I could burn your fuckin’ hair off if I pleased. Isn’t that hard.
The lick of flame, however fleeting, did not go unseen by the catatonic Arch-Curate. It is matched by a shock of frost arcing between gelid fingers, the frigidity of that spell enhanced by a defiled touch colder than the grave. "Really, now?"

☠ - For an Angry Kiss!
You, the vampire thought venomously. Always asking for some kind of pleasure, asking for a kiss or to get in bed. For a while Dalamus thought Nergui had finally found someone else to pester. Apparently it had not lasted long.
With a tight grip on the other vampire's collar--knowing the greymage magic would make him do it eventually--Dalamus gave Nergui a hard kiss before shoving him away. "Does that satisfy you?"

Silaithas frowned as he sat on a small outcropping of stone, chewing on a bit of bread and drinking from a skin of water. His cloak was wrapped about his shoulders, but the hood was thrown back so that he could still see the surrounding area whilst he ate.

While I rather enjoy killing things as well as fucking them, I could think of a thousand ways to kill you with a dagger. Six of which involves it being set on fire and being shoved up your ass.
"i'm a dovah, we are resistant to fire remember?" he gave him a sarcastic look. "and last i checked vampires, are not." he blew a small plume of fire to demonstrate his point.

dovahvamp replied to your post “Dammit, Vyrthur! Why be an ass to someone who simply wants to see things turn out better for you?”
A comedian and an imbecile? My, your talents are simply limitless.
As is my dick.
I believe the descriptive term you were looking for was "limp and lifeless", in the context of the aforementioned crude noun. The entirety of you will match that description shortly, if you do not leave.
