ROB: "Well, now I know we're doing a different show than Hercules. In Hercules the only time we had two women talking together one of them was chained to a wall."
Yikes... is that really true? That can't be true, right? I don't know because I don't watch Hercules besides the Xena crossover episodes. If that's true... that's pretty freaking concerning to be honest. There's no W/W scenes or interactions unless they're stripped of agency?
Maybe that's just how it starts off. There's no way they went on for 5 seasons without any legitimate female-on-female dialogue scenes.

do you know what nemesis means?
Generally, people who are scared of farm animals are scared because they're not familiar with them, don't know how to properly handle them, and don't know what they are like.
Except for pigs. People who aren't scared of pigs aren't generally familiar with pigs.

Other dndads characters and the entities I think they'd be avatars of
Paeden: Slaughter, I dont think I need to explain myself
Erin O'Neill: flesh due to her fucked up meat forest in season 2 💕
The Library: the Beholding, all he cares about is his books and information
Mark Likely: The spiral, the amount of gaslighting he does is insane, straight up had ron thinking he was going insane
Scam likely: the web, hes a little scammer of course he needs to be in control of every little thing. The thing that sets him apart from others aligned with the web is he is only in it for the goof. Mf baby trapped a couple and tricked Jodie into falling in love with him and being in a years long committed relationship with him cause he thought it'd be funny. You gotta be pretty good at manipulation to be doing the kinda shit he does.
Jodie Foster: Stranger, he just straight up replaced Glenn in the memories of his wife and child and was also trapped in an inanimate object. A very NotThem man
Doug the intern: the End, he died and came back
Pepperoni Tony: lonely
Shade Witch: desolation, she's gonna set the world on fire so people buy her sun glasses
Candlethorp: the dark, fully supports the sun being extinguished so that more people buy his candles

Dick's memories:
I've been working on this part for 6 months. I wrote a lot of it from memory and then went to find the panels and check I was characterising them correctly (and add the attribution).
There are some big moments in Dick and Tim's relationship referenced here, of course. But wherever possible, I tried to choose slightly less well known moments, or an alternate panel from the main one pointed to in that issue.
Some fun facts:
38 footnotes, referencing 34 separate comics (I use two scenes from the same issue for 4 comics: Batman, Nightwing, Robin, and Gotham Knights)
15 different comic runs are referenced (Batman, Detective Comics, Azrael, Birds of Prey, Nightwing, Robin, Red Robin, Batman: Shadow of the Bat, Gotham Knights, New Titans, Showcase '93, Joker: Last Laugh, Identity Crisis, Infinite Crisis, and Blackest Night: Batman)
The years covered by the comics are the following: 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.
The years missed are the following: 1989 and 1991.
1989: I skipped because I really, really wanted to open with Tim's first actual team up with Dick after A Lonely Place of Dying. Plus, Dick didn't really look and see Tim until after ALPoD. That's why no circus, no baby Tim, no origin story.
1991: Dick and Tim do not interact in any comic labelled 1991. They do appear in a single splash panel together.
I struggled with myself over whether to include 2009 or not, because I wanted moments of brotherhood between Tim and Dick, where they clearly cared for each other, and I didn't want to include any of Battle for the Cowl or the Red Robin fight. There were in the end only three stories that really qualified: The end of Heart of Hush; the 2008 Holiday Special (which has a Feb 2009 cover date); and Blackest Night: Batman. The only issue of Heart of Hush with a 2009 coverdate simply doesn't have any conversation BETWEEN Dick and Tim to use (they're too busy explaining to Tommy how much he screwed up); while I do like the Wonderful Life story, the costume handover was a bit too twee to fit anywhere into the flow of memories plus Owen Mercer's there; and in the end, I used the panel AFTER the panel of Blackest Night. This was a slight cop out in terms of the whole 'avoid the Red Robin fight' aim, but it's the one big moment that shows Dick and Tim were still in sync during that time, and in terms of the scene build it slotted quite nicely into the explosions-building-to-dead-Tim run of memories.
14 different writers created the comics (Marv Wolfman, Alan Grant, Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Dennis O'Neil, Devin Grayson, Scott Beatty, Brad Meltzer, Geoff Johns, Adam Beechen, Fabian Nicieza, Peter Tomasi, Christopher Yost, and Scott Snyder)
The most common writer was of course Chuck Dixon, who wrote 10 of the issues; Devin Grayson was in second with 6 issues.
The comic that appears the most often is Nightwing, with 6 issues; Gotham Knights has 5 issues appear.
I had great fun constructing this; I hope while you were reading it many of the scenes also played in your head.

So I ran a DNDADS campaign for my friends and I feel the need to share some of the shenanigans they got up to (I've thrown in a mix of S1/S2 NPCS and some folks from ATMOD)
-Called Doug for everything
-Agreed to kill infants for Erin O'Neil
-Attempted to kick Mark Likely in the groin so many times and failed
-Immediately adopted Hermie and Normal
-Got tricked by Paeden into drawing from the Deck of Many Things
-Still adopted Paeden, convinced him to attack a rock
-Gave Hermie meth ice cream
-Started an empire selling hats through Doug, who gets 40% of the sales and cried over it
-Killed Gartok
-Have been very flirty with both Erin O'Neil and Meryl Streep
-Did a lot of drug flowers
-Decided one of the Purple Robes was Gordon Ramsey and made that the main recurring joke until they discovered Gordon was actually their terrible father
-Attempted to seduce the Robes before finding out who they were. Also attempted to befriend them.
-Have called their loved ones for help. A LOT.
-One player cheated on their wife with a Death God but not in the BDSM side quest??
-Elected Paeden king of the Baby mafia and made zero attempt to return him home to Walter
-Dropped a pyramid on the only entrance/exit path on or off of Ravenloft Castle
-Had a magic fish attack many of their enemies
-Created a weird joint custody arrangement with Scam Likely
Should also point out 3 of them were playing as John Constantine, Percy Jackson, and Mike Afton--

Batman (vol. 1) #488: Costumes
Read Date: July 14, 2023 Cover Date: January 1993 ● Writer: Doug Moench ● Penciler: Jim Aparo ● Inker: Jim Aparo ● Colorist: Adrienne Roy ● Letterer: Jim Aparo ● Editor: Dennis O'Neil ◦ Scott Peterson ●
**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers
Reactions As I Read: ● the one downside to skipping around these issues while following podcasts is I don’t know what happened in the previous issue(s) to cause Lucius to have bandages on his face or Batman to collapse on the stairs ● I really like how the narrative describes Batman losing consciousness
● 👏👏👏👏👏
Synopsis: Jean-Paul Valley begins work as a security guard at WayneCorp, and also begins training with Robin, foiling the plans of the Skulls biker gang to steal industrial secrets from Wayne's companies. In the process, Robin discovers how impetuous Valley can be, and they discover that the System will tend to compensate for this. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne finally admits that he is burning out, and contacts Doctor Shondra Kinsolving.
