Update on the messy Raze x Dual x Charlie x Vaggie polycule situation: I finally have a ship name. Actually, I have several! :3

Here’s the basic rundown:

ChaggieDaze:

Full Raze x Dual x Charlie x Vaggie polycule

The non-monogamy is all consensual and negotiated, because monog-style drama bores me 90% of the time.

There is drama, but the non-monogamy itself causes none of said drama.

Daze:

Dual x Raze

Starts out with Raze scaring the living daylights out of Dual.

Turns into a friends with nonsexual kinky benefits situation when Raze learns the full extent of how much damage Dual’s body can cause.

They both start to care about each other.

Romantic? Queerplatonic? I haven’t decided yet!

Somehow, despite both being horribly dysfunctional beings, they make each other better <3

DoubleRainbow:

Charlie x Dual

Strangers to friends to FWB to lovers

Charlie is one of the only people who can touch Dual’s fire-half without being burned, and the only person who is both interested in and able to have sex with them.

RazeFallen:

Raze x Vaggie

Not romantic, not sexual, frankly, they don’t even like each other

And yet, aside from Dual, Raze spends more time with Vaggie than anyone else.

Best way I can describe it is a predator toying with its prey, in no rush to eat.

Raze is a feral cat and Vaggie is a particularly interesting bird that they’re going to catch, maim, and release until it gets bored or someone stops it.

Raze knows exactly where to prod Vaggie to get a reaction.

Coincidentally! Those places are mostly flaws in Vaggies world view due to her time as an Exorcist, and poking at them causes Vaggie to reevaluate her views.

Raze keeps accidentally improving people’s lives, and it has no idea how this happened or how to make it stop.

Charaze:

Charlie & Raze

Platonic

Charlie has gotten somewhat attached to Raze since it started going to group once a week.

Raze sees Charlie as a source of entertainment: less interesting than Vaggie but more interesting than most of the other hotel residents/staff.

I thought the shipname looked like it could be a word, so I looked it up and (in spelling at least) it’s the subjective form of the verb charaza, meaning “to beat” in Swahili, which. Yeah, that checks out. That’s how Raze interacts with everyone, actually, including Charlie.

Dual & Vaggie:

No ship name

A bit standoffish around each other

In part because (this version of) Vaggie has an avian respiratory system, which makes her more sensitive to smoke inhalation.

And unlike Raze, she isn’t a raging sadomasochist who gets a kick out of not being able to breathe.

Sexually and romantically incompatible, due to the smoke inhalation/burn risk, but also because Dual will never date another monosexual woman and Vaggie has exactly 0 attraction to Dual’s fire-half.

They’re friends though!

Not very close friends, because Dual tends to close themselves off when they think they might hurt somebody

But they have an amicable, if awkward relationship.
