I don't know if anybody noticed it, but Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is the only Mario Kart game where the characters celebrate by riding somebody's car without driving, obviously only the winners (the runner-ups still drive around). Most characters are grounded, but this game introduced a very large selection of characters and some of them are not grounded. It just so happens that two of them (King Boo and Koopa Paratroopa) are airborne! That gives a perfect opportunity for a cartoon.

Here's a dumb thing I thought as a child

When I first played Mario Kart Double Dash on the GameCube as a kid, whenever Mario said "Let's-a-go!" whenever you opened the game past the title screen, I thought he was saying "Mexico!"

This legitimately made me think that the game took place in Mexico, and for some reason, playing the DK Mountain track for the first time after hearing that is what made my undiagnosed autistic child brain say "Yeah, that checks out."

Drawing Every Mario Kart Character Pt. 3 - Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Double Dash introduced ELEVEN characters so I definitely had my work cut out for this one. I think the posing on all of these guys is great, and I real happy with how everyone came out in general.

Do Super Stars Come In Different Forms?

So in a previous post I mentioned how Power Stars and Power Moons are the same thing but in different forms, and that they can change form to suit the situation. This got me thinking if this is the case for a Starman or Super Star.

There is the most common appearance of Super Stars which we see in most games. But we have see Super Stars that have taken on a different appearance as seen in the old art for the first games, but also as one of the items in Mario Kart Double Dash.

There is also the Rainbow Star from Super Mario Galaxy which while it has a different name and looks different, it still has the same effects of a Super Star.

So I think these are all just Super Stars in different forms, what do y'all think?

Wii rainbow road - nostalgic banger, made easier in this game tho

3DS rainbow road - fucking beautiful, was my number 1 but wii just had a special place in my heart

Big blue - a masterpiece

Mount wario - another masterpiece

Coconut mall - let down by its remakes but still a classic

Maple treeway - pumpkin spice latte

Waluigi stadium - it’s fucking waluigi stadium

Daisy circuit - a beautiful and classic course

Sunshine airport - the star cup in 8 is just the best cup
