Zhanww, thank you for all your posts, I thoroughly enjoyed reading them. I have one for you, just my feelings as you mentioned learning Chinese. Pls listen to the bday song by zz, when he sings "thank you for sending me the good night", it does not sound like he sang "good night", rather, wan-ai, the word love. My mandarin is not great, but I can hear he did not sing the 2nd word for good night, zz sang the word love instead. pls ask your Chinese friends to listen carefully to the last word. tx

No matter how many times I listen to it, I always hear "an"... I did see ggdd fans on wb point out that the pinyin for "good night" i.e. 晚安 wan'an can stand for "wo ai ni, ai ni". But even if it does and that's what gg meant... so what? I took that video to just be a thank you to his fans for all the birthday wishes and fan support or whatever. Heck, if dd had made a public "good night" wb post that day, I would consider this meaningful but as it is, I don't really get what's special about what gg sang/meant, regardless of what those last hanzi are intended to be interpreted as. Oh and I don't have any Chinese friends lol. But I did listen many times myself and sure, gg sorta elongates the syllable cuz he's singing it but I still only hear "an" >.< Maybe that clip was just a snippet of an actual, upcoming song, tho? And if there really is a whole song, then that one line may make more sense within its context... Did you listen to gg's performance of 月亮代表我的心, tho? I may not have pointed that out (cuz it's too obvious lol) but the lyrics of that song are so f-cking romantic; we all know who gg was thinking of when he sang that~

I wish I were a bit more timely, but I've had so much going on IRL, I haven't been able to focus on my blog as much.

I've heard some new turtles questioning these things from a CPN perspective, and some have even read it as a negative, 'break-up' message, which is frustrating. Just a reminder, most things GG and DD post have absolutely nothing to do with their relationship, or with each other. (Not saying that's where you were coming from, Dottie, but I've seen this a fair bit so I figured I'd address that angle).

The domino sequence is actually "140915240915" which is the date range spanning DD's decade in the industry. He debuted on 15 September 2014, and 15 September 2024 is his 10 year anniversary.

As for the message, just a reminder that this is a (shoddy) machine translation, so it's difficult to get a real sense of what he's saying. However, my take on it is that he's essentially saying,

"As time goes by I adapt and grow, and find that I am able to be fully myself."

Yibo is a very independent person who - from my perspective - has been focusing a lot on self-actualization and shaping his life and career to fit his needs instead of the other way around (as was the case with his earlier years). I talked about it a fair bit in this post, and also in my anniversary post (which I'm still working on but will publish soon here it is). Basically, he doesn't want to take any more shit from people. He wants to do what's best for his well-being and happiness, and to focus on the aspects of his career and interests that gives his life joy, purpose and meaning.

Anyway, that's my take on things. I urge everyone to get to know DD and all of his material and form their own perspectives. 💚.

Tbh, I don't know how to answer your first question... it's too vague. I dunno what exactly you mean. What happened to them when/in what context? As for whether they're together; I know there are unfortunately still many (solo) fans who deny this but the truth is yes, absolutely, they are together, they have been together since early 2017 and of course, they have had to keep it hidden. Although, I very much think that they both try to show it any way they can, especially Yibo. As for that incident not being mentioned in my timeline... well, my timeline is a collection of events that ggdd both attended and of things that prove that ggdd are more than friends. And that incident did nothing of the sort, therefore it doesn't need to be in my timeline. I get that any new fans may want a thorough breakdown of what happened but to me, that whole thing was an appalling injustice done to gg that wasn't in any way his fault or even fully his fans' fault and as such, it's still frustrating and painful to think about. I def remember venting about it but I probably deleted any post mentioning it. It still makes my blood boil. The only thing you might wanna take away from it is that is deeply hurt both gg and dd and it damaged Zhan-ge's career. We, fans, barely got to see him for the rest of that year, cuz his antis did the f-cking most to get him cut/dropped from anything he worked on. Even gg's studio was quiet. And dd, God bless his soul, could obviously not openly show his support but I remember that was probably the year he shared the most kadian, trying to show his support for his man for those of us who paid attention to it. Anyway... that whole year is smth that I'm just very glad we've gotten past and I only saved the good and relevant things from that year in my timeline, not the negative ones...

I enjoyed plating our second annual New Year's Day Bulk Cheese Warehouse Charcuterie supper again this year.
