Ugh, that's ridiculous. As is the "she was confused/trying to help" excuse An additional suggestion if she ignores the flamingos. Brick/concrete pavers instead of the little plastic edging. It's not a fence! But if you mortar a couple layers of them together it will be a very obvious barrier that you can't get a mower through. Perennial/native bushes might be a good idea too. You could plant raspberries. Delicious... and thorny. >:3

We talked about shrubbery too, but the space is really too small, plus the city has height rules for the area closer to the curb (the front two feet can't have anything higher than eight inches!). Bricks is an option we're still keeping available, even though we're pretty sure that if we actually stick them to each other, the HOA will say it's a fence and make us remove it. (HOA rules apply much more strictly to us than anyone else on the block, which I know sounds like one of those exaggerated "ugh everyone is unfair to me personally" things, but no seriously housemate has notes on like a dozen specific examples.)

I'm glad you've called the cops over this already. Hate is a strong word, so I mean it when I say that I have a very strong hatred towards people who disrespect plants and people who disrespect boundaries, and she's hitting both of those triggers. Next you'll tell me that she's a tailgater (in the driving way, not the party way).

She runs into mailboxes and trees and things, and parks perpendicular to the curb with her door hanging open for up to a couple hours at a time, but I'm not aware that she tailgates!

They kind of just hate us doing anything in general? We told them at the start of covid that we were going into isolation, which meant having to revoke our permission for their kids to bike down our driveway (we have the steep driveway, I get it, I very clearly remember being a kid doing the same thing and I was very pleased to be able to let these kids have their fun pre-covid), or indeed enter our property at all (no more shortcuts across the lawn). The kids kept trespassing, the parents accused us of lying because their darlings would never and then *really* got angry when we showed them footage from the security cameras we specifically started putting in to document their trespassing. It's been escalating ever since.

We literally just want our neighbors to stay off our property and not block the street, but they don't wanna, so we're the bad guys. [EDIT oh my gosh I totally forgot the other unfair demand we made, which is that the second set of neighbors stop literally storing piles of construction detritus and food garbage in their yard between our houses, because we had to have an exterminator out two years in a row and he specifically told us that as long as that junk was there it would probably keep happening]

My house has a little strip of front yard between the driveway and the property line (kind of a very long skinny triangle, three feet or so at its widest, maybe twenty feet long). Our neighbor on that side really really likes to cross the lawn and go down our driveway instead of her own when she wants to get to the street, unmasked even at the height of covid, even though we told her that we were isolating for our own safety (hers is the less steep one). So last summer, housemate turned that narrow bit of lawn into a native perennial garden, because surely the neighbor wouldn't just drag her gotdamned trash bin through a clearly maintained garden.

Last fall she spent a full hour (we saw it after the fact on security camera footage) raking out the entire thing, taking all the mulch and tearing away all vegetable matter above the ground, such that we had no way to tell how many plants she'd actually left with any roots in the ground so they could grow back this year.

This spring, most of them grew back! Then today she mowed some of them.

We're not allowed to have any kind of fence there, including those painted wire garden fences you can get at Home Depot. We've got the generic black plastic edging that's like two inches tall, but she's apparently happy to both rake and mow right across that, so it's no use as a barrier to plant destruction (the cops also will not consider it trespassing/property destruction/etc if that edging is the only physical barrier).

How, then, are we supposed to stop her from destroying our garden, when the cops say we have to actually physically block her access to completely avoid any possibility of confusion, but we're not allowed fences?

Well. We're allowed to have lawn ornaments.

Twenty bright pink flamingos of various sizes and designs, purchased over the winter, are now staked into that long, narrow strip. We positioned them between the plants and her side, so she will have to very knowingly reach past the birds to damage anything again (possibly damaging the birds too). Will she do it anyway? Probably. Will the cops say it's okay, she was just confused, or maybe just trying to be a good neighbor, again? ...I mean, probably. But I can dream, right?

So far I've only gotten to do two attacks, but I think I'm pretty happy with'em (and the recipients seem to be as well?)

The little guy is Lucifer (Oonaugh is mine), who belongs to kaithekitcat (on Insta!) and Piceous is @dotstronaut 's cool oc. Donno who the square is behind her, I was kinda just riffing. What can I say hi like drawing tall foreboding figures with animal skulls for heads.

Also: red. It's a color that may or may not be best used over 90% of an image. Woops.

There are such great AUs of such great artists out there. And, damn, it’s demon Azirapahle who I love so much. I just couldn’t help it and had to draw him. But I couldn’t decide, so I drew my three favorite Au-Aziras. And i drew them topless, cause i love my men without a shirt. :3 Everyone of them is a great character, who designed with passion. I really love them. ♥ I had a lot of fun drawing and hope you like them too. :)

It was so hard not to post this at 2 am this morning after getting it done because I was excited about it.

But the night before my brain decided to wonderfully chant at me that I gotta draw a companion piece later. You gotta do it. You drew all the au Crowleys so why not draw the respective Aziraphales too? And knowing my fool self I wouldn’t be able to resist my own damn siren call for doing another Leyendecker inspired piece of artwork. The sketched out companion piece in question can be found over here which I am also going to paint. Both of these are going to be painted and all of the boys are going to look so dashing.
