I looked back on my Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return twin self inserts that I've had for a long time. Being able to dimension jump into different fandoms. I tore A LOT out and rewrote their and Dorothy's backstory and life.

It starts out with Dorothy's family. My headcanon, being Dorothy, had two loving moms. One is human, and the other is a witch. Unfortunately, Dorothy lost both when she was barely a toddler to some unknown illness. So she doesn't really remember them very well. Some blurry memories, but not much.

Now, where did Dorothy's witch mom come from? She's really not sure. Not even her aunt, whose a witch herself, knows where they came from. When Dorothy is in Oz, she has a weird inner feeling about the place. It's not bad. It just feels part of home, like with Kansas.

earthspark official guidebook says the final battle took place 15 years ago (the Battle of the Bay, right?) and that Dorothy and Megatron first met. She was helping wounded Decepticons and Megatron was impressed with her. Then it says in the same battle, Dorothy lost her leg and Megatron took her to Optimus for treatment. Does that mean.......

Megatron was captured himself to save Dorothy????

That's why that battle was the "final" battle, because the decepticon leader was taken prisoner so war was oficially over?????

(the Space Bridge Battle was definitly after that.......omg...)

.....if so, it makes sense Dot doesn't like Optimus that much, she wouldn't be happy about he taking advantage of the favor Megatron gave her in such a way – even though he had to do.

She was likely unconscious when she was injured, Megatron had no choice because he didn't know how to help human.

and Optimus probably didn't tell her Megatron saved her life while she was recovering. He had to suspect Megatron's true intentions and couldn't let her get caught up in it, but I can also see Dorothy was very upset when she found out.

It would have taken no time at all for her to get to Megatron's cell in her wheelchair while he was trying to come up with a rational explanation for why he saved a human soldier and was captured.

Further notes:

The stage version of The Wiz looks like it is currently only licensable for school productions; but the script itself also appears to be separately available, and I believe there is currently a revival running on Broadway

Wicked is apparently licensable in Australia(?) and not elsewhere, but it is still running on Broadway, too

All the movies/shows are available on DVD or streaming

There's also a direct Wizard of Oz stage musical, but there's actually like *four* of them and some of them seem to build off each other to a degree? And multiple versions are licensable. I didn't want to include all four versions (this polls is at the max amount of things I want to include even without any of them) and I am not entirely sure which version is the one that is most commonly revived/considered the main version, so I've just opted to leave it off the poll for now.

Honestly, if I had the opportunity to ask Mads or Hugh questions at a con, I probably wouldn't ask them Hannibal questions. Or maybe I'd ask Mads a Hannibal question, but I would wanna ask Hugh about his role in Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return.

Hugh's character Marshal Mallow is such a comfort character for me, and he has been since I saw the movie for the first time when I was 12. I think the scene where he uses pieces of his marshmallow body to repair his love interest's shattered china body permanently altered the way I think about romance.

Mainly though, I'd wanna ask him about his singing in that movie. He doesn't sing for roles very often (Marshal Mallow and Prince Charmont are the only ones that come to mind), but he actually has a really beautiful voice. Of course just because he's good at it doesn't mean he enjoys it or has to do it regularly as part of his acting repertoire, but I'd be curious to ask if he's ever thought about taking on or been offered any other singing roles after he played Marshal Mallow.

Ragatha is Scarecrow

Jax is Tin Man

Gangle is the Cowardly Lion

Gummigoo is Toto

Kaufmo is the Wicked Witch of The East

Kinger is the Mayor of Munchkin land

Zooble is Princess Langwidere/Mombi (specifically the version of Mombi in Disney's Return to Oz who is based on and a combination of both)

The Gloink Queen is the Wicked Witch of The West

The Gloinks are the winged monkeys

Caine is the titular Wizard of Oz

Bubble is Glinda The Good Witch

Princess Loolilalu is Princess Ozma

The Fudge is the Nome King

For some of these I'm obviously stretching. If you can come up with better ideas for this please do so. If you don't recognize a Oz character's name assume there only in the Land of Oz book series and not in the Mgm Wizard of Oz movie. Also please watch Disney's Return to Oz.

It is missing Portland hours. I can't believe that a year ago I got to check several things off of my bucketlist: traveling to Portland with great friends, attending RCCC, and cosplaying Princess Ozma from Return to Oz with my adorable friend as Dorothy. I won't be able to go this year, but maybe next time!
