Hi tonight I decided to add like twenty inkheart characters to the hunger games sim for shits and giggles (old men were exempts) so here are some highlights I thought were funny.

Pairing meggie with doria was apparently a very bad idea as she pursued to immediately bury him six feet underground on day one lmao.

She also kept shooting people and getting explosives from random sponsors, effectively getting the highest bodycount of five only to die of hypothermia on the last day.

Somehow roxane's death went past my radar and i haven't realised this until i skimmed thru everyone's cause of deaths and found out she was set on fire by none other than mo at the very beginning of the game 💀 apparently basta didn't take this very well and proceeded to track him down and kill him on day one. Avenge her, king!

Dustfinger attempted to climb a tree for no apparent reason only to fall from it and die. Sootbird did the EXACT same on the same day, of course not before he'd snapped the piper's neck. The art of seduction is not for the streets.

Basta and firefox kept teaming up despite coming from different districts and jumping people. What did fenoglio mean by this?

i think as an adult i prefer reading middle grade fantasy to YA fantasy (if i have to pick one over books written for grownups) because i'm not necessarily expected to care about a romantic relationship between twelve-year-olds and there is usually a DILF involved somewhere having very complicated grownup relationship problems in the peripheral vision of the protagonist. this happens in both his dark materials and inkheart. i do not care about lyra and will's romance and i do not care about any of meggie folchart's little crushes or her relationships (i like farid as a character though!) but what i DO care about is the insane complicated relationship between asriel and marisa coulter, and the shockingly convoluted love quadrangle between mo and resa and dustfinger and roxane. WHAT was going on there.

I just created this blog because I'm reading the inkworld series for the first time in full after only ever reading inkheart and tumblr has the only semi-alive inkworld fam community that i'm aware of.

Can I just say that I do not care for Doria. idc where else to say this. He is my biggest problem with inkdeath (well, not my biggest, but he is up there). I'm like Regina George over here: "Mrs Funke, stop trying to make Doria and Meggie happen. It's NOT going to happen." I know it is, but I'll be dead and buried before I accept it. Huh, I think a lot of people think that. I actually rather like Doria, but he did appear a bit out of the blue i guess... And it's pretty baffling to me that Meggie just stays together with a guy she met when she was 13

I have read the first three mirrorworld books and all 4 of inkheart.

The references I've noticed are just little mentions really. In Color of Revenge, there's a woman that turns into a fox because of a dress, there's another woman in the mirrorworld books named Fox (her human name is Celeste) who does the same.

The place where Meggie and Doria were going to travel to in the beginning of Color of Revenge was said to have a mirror that takes you to another world. Which is the way Jacob Reckless from the Mirrorworld traveled between our world and the mirrorworld.

I've heard that Cornelia Funke wants to connect the two worlds but they take place in different times. The Inkworld stories don't have nearly as much technology as they do in the Mirrorworld books so maybe Mirrorworld takes place after? But then that brings the question of how time differs between that world and ours because the "real" world in Inkheart is probably like the early 2000's meanwhile the "real" world in Reckless was set in the 19th century/during an industrial era. Of course, there could just be that much distance between the two settings in the other world that the technological advances didn't reach that far. This is backed by the fact that in the Mirrorworld books, there's species such as the goyl who are nearly as common as humans that make no mention in Inkheart.

Sorry that this is a longer reply than you were probably expecting (i just really love Cornelia Funke's books)
