Day 304/365: October 31st 2018 | Halloween 2018 lol

Wanted to grab food with Vicky after my shift but by the time that we met up, everything was closed.......... W T F !!!!!! It was still fun to take photos with the mall decorations LMAO. The universe just really did not want me to spend money today. Happy Halloween!!??

Hello listener~Thank you so much i’m really glad you liked my fic!! I would absolutely LOVE to do a chapter 9 follow up but, just in case anyone out there hasn’t read it and doesn’t want major spoilers, i’m going to stick to the second half of your question. Thanks for the prompt

Hizashi lies under his duvet and two blankets. He is wrapped up in his dressing gown, beneath which he’s wearing his winter pyjamas. He has two pairs of socks on. His head is buried under the covers.

How is he still cold?

The sound of his teeth chattering sounds oddly loud under the roof of blankets. And even though he’s really- really really- tired, he can’t sleep. Instead, all he can do is stare at the underside of his duvet, and the bluish light of the streetlights peeking through the gaps that Hizashi’s missed whilst making this cocoon.  

His eyes are cold. How is that a thing?

After about ten minutes of trying to sleep, it becomes too much. With a loud, frustrated growl, he rips himself out from under the duvets and blankets. It brings on unpleasant consequences.

“Shit! Oh my God why is it so cold-”

Hizashi dances on the spot for a moment as he decides whether to run a hot bath, make a cup of tea, or a hot water bottle. Of course, he knows why it’s so cold. He and Shouta have the worst landlord in the universe and they haven’t fixed the heating in time for winter, despite the fact that they’ve told him multiple times that it’s caput. Shouta’s been moaning about it far less than him, but it’s reached the point now where they’ve both lost their patience.

Hizashi instinctively looks to the wall on his left. On the other side, Shouta’s in bed. They’ve lived together for years, and yet the thought of him being just on the other side of the wall sometimes makes Hizashi’s stomach flutter. Still.

After all this time.

Maybe Shouta is cold too, he thinks.

“No,” he warns himself, because he knows where this is going.

But his mind betrays him. Maybe Shouta could do with some extra warmth, like I could.

Hizashi measures this thought that drifts into his mind, looks down at his feet as he does so. They’re covered in fluffy, cat shaped bed socks. They even have little ears. And his pyjamas have Doraemon on them. Running a hot bath would be much more sensible than what he is considering doing next. But then, no man wearing a combination this silly has ever done anything sensible.

He looks back at the wall.

There is little point pretending to argue with himself, he realises. He made his choice as soon as the idea popped into his head.

Hizashi’s feet transport him to Shouta’s door, and then he’s knocking. And no one’s answering.

He’s asleep. Of course he is, it’s Shouta. Hizashi huffs to himself, watches his breath form a cloud in front of his face. Pretends not to be upset or frustrated. Paces around in front of Shouta’s door for a moment, feeling a bit like a lost puppy. Then, gritting his teeth against the agonising, illogical feeling of rejection, he-

The door opens. “‘Zashi.”

Hizashi stops in his tracks and spins round to face the man standing in the doorway. His arms are wrapped around him, and he’s wearing a turtle neck jumper. He’s unrolled the neck so that it covers his chin and mouth.

“Shou, sorry man, I just- it’s freezing.”Shouta doesn’t respond immediately. “Yes.”

Hizashi feels warm for the first time in hours. His cheeks, unmistakably, are hot. “You’re cold too?”

Again, Shouta doesn’t seem to know what to do with this. He’s never been good at small talk, and Hizashi isn’t exactly making this easy. “Obviously.”

“Cool, yeah. Obviously. No, I just came because- uh-”

Because I want an excuse to cuddle you?

Thankfully, Shouta doesn’t give Hizashi any more time to talk nonsense. He disappears into his room, leaving the door open for Hizashi to follow. He smiles to himself and takes the invitation.

And then he looks at Shouta’s bed. He’s been in here plenty of times, and never has his bed ever felt daunting. Hizashi combs his fingers through his hair, a nervous habit that he never seemed to be able to kick as an adult.

“Which side do you want.”

Hizashi’s heart stops at how casually he asks this, but, as ever, his mouth is on autopilot. “Right! I always prefer right.”“Thought so.”“Yeah?”

“Yeah. Remember when we were in second year and we went on that class excursion, we had to share a bed then too.”Hizashi does remember, but only now that he brings it up. Back then, it hadn’t felt so weird. They’d stayed up half the night eating junk food and talking about everything and nothing. Hizashi is usually the one with the good memory. He wonders what made Shouta remember that trip now.

“You kick in your sleep.”“Do not!”“Do, too. If you kick me tonight I’ll throw you out the window.”Hizashi makes an unconvincing sob. “OK,” he moans. “I can’t help what I do in my sleep though.”“Not my problem.”

Shouta gets back under the covers. When Hizashi doesn’t move at first, he stares at him blankly. Hizashi startles, joins him in bed without further hesitation.

“Oh my god it’s so warm. How are you so warm. You’re a little radiator.”

“Hmmm.”

Hizashi lies on his back and shuffles down the bed, so the lower half of his face is covered by duvet. Whenever he breathes his face feels, irritatingly, too warm. Shouta lies still, turned towards him on his side.

“What are you doing.”

Hizashi peers over at him, wide eyed. “Huh?”

“I thought the whole point of this was sharing body heat.”

Hizashi swallows. Trust Shouta to say something like that out loud and not be embarrassed. Never freak out or make things weird.

Hizashi, on the other hand: “Errrrrrrrrrrr-”

“Come here.”An arm suddenly wraps itself around his waist, pulling him towards Shouta. Hizashi yelps in surprise but allows it; is suddenly pressed up close against Shouta.

In his bed.

He can feel his breath at the back of his neck. Shouta’s hand lies against his stomach, although he can’t really feel it through all the layers he’s wearing. If he weren’t absolutely freezing, he’d be wishing he wasn’t wearing any pyjamas under his dressing gown.

And that’s exactly the kind of thought that’s going to get you into trouble. STOP IT.

Shouta wriggles, moves his other arm so that it lays beneath Hizashi’s head, rather than being bent awkwardly between their bodies. There’s something even more intimate about that, and it takes all the will power Hizashi has to steady his breathing.

“You remind me of that cat. Have you seen that gif of that cat?”“I’ve seen every cat gif ever made,” Shouta says seriously, and Hizashi laughs. His voice is quiet and low. “You’ll have to be more specific.”“You know, the one with the mummy kitty pulling in the little sleeping baby kitty in its arms. Like it’s a soft toy or something. That’s basically what you just did.”

“Hmm,” Shouta considers. There’s a suspicious pause. “Hizashi, do you consider me a parental figure in your life?”“Wh- No!”

Shouta laughs, and Hizashi playfully, and without much conviction, tries to escape his embrace. Shouta holds him there tightly.

“God, you’re so annoying!”

He can imagine the smirk on his face right now, even though he’s turned away from him. Hizashi’s breath forms clouds in his vision.

“This isn’t fair.”Shouta sighs. “What?”

“You’ve got the better end of the bargain. You can warm up your face-”

-By burying it in my neck? My hair? Is that really what you’re going to say, Hizashi, you MORON?

“I mean- you know- my nose is cold,” is what Hizashi eventually decides on.

Shouta snorts. He plants his hand directly on Hizashi’s face.

“Better?”“Eugh- God you’re in the weirdest mood tonight-”

“And you won’t stop complaining. Just turn round, Hizashi.”He does as he’s told, and finds himself just below Shouta’s chin, eye-level with his clavicle. It’s warm. Shouta is warm. His arm is draped over him under the covers, and Hizashi’s leg instinctively finds it’s way between Shouta’s. He doesn’t have time to regret it, because Shouta shuffles closer.

“Oh,” he says out loud.

“Hm?”“Nothing,” Hizashi croaks.

Hizashi can feel Shouta’s heart racing through his sweatshirt.

It’s enough confirmation that maybe- just maybe- Hizashi’s not alone in feeling like this. Whatever this is- he hasn’t found the word to describe it yet. He shuffles down and presses his face against his chest. He doesn’t miss the shakiness to Shouta’s deep, slow breath.

By the time Shouta’s heartbeat has settled, they’ve both fallen asleep.

Just bought Bran a bunch of ‘summer’ vest shirts to soak in water from Aliexpress, oops. (and a Pikachu sweatshirt, and a new jumper/sweater for winter. I was going to get the Doraemon one too but they’re limited to one per order??)  Thank god he’s an XL or XXL and not just too big for most of the cool stuff haha. Fingers crossed they actually arrive. And resemble the photos. I’ve never actually ordered from there before, and the time I ordered stuff from China (Amazon/Ebay) for Rosie they sent this tiny Chihuahua sized jumper and I had to wait for them to resend the correct size lol

Day 121/365: May 1st 2018 | Grocery Shopping at HMart

Woah. I haven’t gone grocery shopping with my parents in so long. I followed my dad to HMart because I wanted fire noodles LOL. I literally bought both the original and the mala HAHAHHAA. So sad that they don’t sell 2x nuclear anymore </3 or the curry </3 or the ice </3 (please restock djfdsfssd even though 10 packs will last me for 2 months).

She loved me since I was born. Growing up, she surprised me with a pink @GottaGetAGund polar bear 🐻, purple @FiskarsAmericas child size scissors ✂️, #Doraemon comic books 📚, and one time a huge authentic @Disney Winnie the Pooh 🍯. I hugged my polar bear and Pooh to sleep every night. She showed me how to draw rabbits, then she acted amused when I showed her how I drew #Totoro & other cartoon & animé characters. I stayed with her during my freshman year of high school - How she loved me and invested in me: helping me with homework, giving me all the hand me downs I wanted (I kept the #LooneyToons sweatshirt for a super long time!) and also taking me shopping. One time, after I started working in the Southwest, I visited my hometown. I went for a jog without planning ahead. I showed up at her door, asking to use the bathroom. She let me in, even though I was rude - showing up just to 💩. Her love and surprises for me never ended. She was the last minute translator for my dad’s speech. She was the one who wrote the funniest message in our guestbook. She is my #WCW. #WomanCrushWednesday (at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii)

Day 94/365: April 4th 2017 | Eventful Tuesday ft. Free Movie Night

Today was really long and tiring but it was good. Had a nice day. I went to bed at 12:20 last night (SO EARLY!! I KNOW!) but I didn’t fall asleep until around 1:30 (oh the struggles...). Anyway, I got up at around 8:20 as usual and went to school. Nothing special happened in any of my classes today other than the fact that I’d bumped into Erica on my way to lifespan nutrition and that was such a nice surprise LOL like suddenly I had this excited person running towards me!! Also, a 3 time stroke survivor (O_O) was a guest speaker during my neuropsych lecture today! WOW! After school, I finished up my POL assignment (we got another one today like WHY!? T_T), ate hot dry noodles nom nom nom and went to SUB for free movie night! Watched La La Land today with Charmy~ the theatre was 95% full... so many people came since the movie is so recent. A decent movie with good music (plot is bleak, though... but still okay because the cast is good-looking LMAO... watch it just for Emma Stone).

After the movie, I went to the library to finish up ALL of my readings for clinical psych!!!

Day 50/365: February 19th 2017 | Bubble Tea Date 

Woke up next to an angel aka Gaby at 9am. I woke up in the middle of the night at 4am and we just grabbed each other’s hand sjhfsjkh it was cute af :p LOL anyway we didn’t do anything until 4:30pm when we went to NoFrill’s for grocery shopping and Chatime for bubble tea. We basically just ate leftover pizza for breakfast and lunch LOL like 3 meals for two people for only $8!!! I LUV DOMINO’S AND STUDENT DISCOUNT... AND MY FREE GIFT CARD LMFAO! Whenever Gaby and I can’t sit beside each other on the bus, I’d just stare at her face because she’s so pretty (!!!) fhskjdag and she’d just touch my hair hahaha so cute XD. We didn’t spend a lot of time inside NoFrills but grocery shopping has never been more fun! After getting groceries, we went to Chatime, got bubble tea (pearl milk tea for Gaby and lychee yogurt QQ jelly for me), and drank them at the tables while chatting with each other. ^_^ 

Today was so nice!!! I’ve never been happier. ♡♡

Day 62/365: March 3rd 2017 | Child Aesthetics 

Went grocery shopping this morning and Ryan forced me to get SFC even though I wasn’t even hungry jsdhfsajkg I still ate 5 pieces lmao anyway we tried the cilantro lime and it was yum!!! Clinical was really long and boring but Kristin always makes the class much more tolerable. Spent my evening and night calling Gaby. Back to weekly Friday calls... back to being separated by a computer screen and 2000 km. Sigh.

Day 57/365: February 26th 2017 | Cinema Date 

Went to sleep at 3:30am last night because we wanted to talk to each other for as much as we possibly could LOL RIP but then I woke up at 10!!!!! RIP EVEN MORE djfasjkg. It’s ok.. it was worth it. We ate cereal as usual for breakfast and left the house earlier than any other day!!!! Arrived at WEM, found matching rings + matching necklaces (pizza necklace for Gaby + hamburger necklace for me!!!!). After walking around WEM for a bit, we went to the movie theatre to watch The Great Wall in IMAX 3D! Gaby wanted to see it because Luhan is in it (his character was so cute jhdsjghda). Kenny Lin was in it too!! His character was kind of an asshole but gdi he’s always so handsome *dies* and Zheng Kai was in it too but his character was so weird like the emperor’s assistant person LMAO omfg I can’t believe the emperor was played by a member of TF Boys wtf!!!!!!! ALSO the main actress was SOOOOO PRETTY OH MY GOSH!!!!! Anyway, the movie was really good but our row was super crammed. We ate expensive movie theatre food because we didn’t eat anything all day except for cereal in the morning. Gaby bought a small popcorn and we couldn’t even finish that during the movie because I bought a bacon poutine (that took the employees 38512 years to make because they didn’t know how??? and they kept talking to the other cineplex employees that weren’t working like yikes I usually don’t care but it was literally 2:38 and our movie was 2:45 so lmao yeah I was impatient af sjdghsjg) for us to eat and it was very filling (but it was yum so it was worth it).

After the movie, we took photos in the theatre, got free butter but that shit started leaking so I just ended up finished the popcorn because I couldn’t keep it in my bag anymore rip. Gaby tried the strawberry flavour of calpico water (!), and we found a place in the mall to take polaroids together and it was such a fun experience!!! We left WEM when it closed at 6, slept on each other during the bus ride home, and took more photos together when we came back home. Rested, talked, and I cried again because I WAS SAD!!! SAD BECAUSE MY WIFE BE LEAVING ME... ;’( Ended off our day by eating dinner and writing my blog posts together. 

The past week has been one of the best weeks of my life because I got to spend every single moment with my favourite person. Despite being sick for more than half of this week, I was still very happy because Gaby was here, constantly making me feel better. Every single day was filled with so much happiness and laughter. Honestly, I can’t even pick a favourite day out of this week!!!! Also, I’ve been struggling with writing this week’s 365 posts because no matter how hard I try, the words that I write never seem to be able to accurately depict exactly how I felt. I was just very, very happy. I will hold onto these precious memories and replay them a billion times until we can meet again. I couldn’t have asked for a better first meeting. Thank you for coming to see me, Gaby. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. ;_; ♥️♥️
