Now onto the question:

Advice for Worshipping Lord Apollo

The first step in worshipping or working with any of The Theoi is to understand and connect with their domains (the areas of life and existence they rule over). Lord Apollo has numerous domains, but is primarily associated with the following:

Prophecy & Oracles

Music, Song, & Poetry

Plague, Disease, & Healing

Archery

If you (or anyone) is seeking to worship Lord Apollo, the first step would be to identify which of Lord Apollo's domains align with you and your life. As an example, I have a deep love for divination and tarot - and am also a musician. In such, it would be best and easiest for me to connect with and worship Apollo by utilizing these domains.

When worshiping Lord Apollo, consistency is key and something He values from His devotees. Whether it's once a month, once a week, or once a day - having a set schedule for your worship is something I would heavily advise.

As far as what you should do in order to worship Him - it is again important to align your worship with His domains. Pulling from my own alignments, I have found joy/success in dedicating acts of creativity to Him. I've done this for both crafts made specifically for Lord Apollo, but also for artistic projects that have nothing to do with my worship.

In my experience ,Lord Apollo is a god who values gifts and the dedication of objects. I own a kalimba and recently gifted this instrument to Him. In the context of my worship what this means is that the kalimba is always stored on my altar so that it is kept in His "house". I also, as part of this gift, made the commitment that all the music I ever play on that kalimba will be an offering to Him.

As someone who believes The Theoi are a reflection of us (just as we are a reflection of them) I would also like to acknowledge some different qualities I have found when working with Lord Apollo. He can be a jealous god and is not keen on sharing the spotlight. And while I would not categorize Him as angry or vengeful, He is quite human like in that if you do not keep your word with Him, He can be put off (and is not above giving a devotee the cold shoulder).

Additionally, it has been said in myth that Lord Apollo leaves in the winter to spend time with the Hyperborea:

"Alone among the Twelve Olympians, the Greeks venerated Apollo among the Hyperboreans, and was thought to spend his winters there amongst them." (Wikipedia)

I personally have found this to be an accurate reflection of His attendance (for lack of a better word). Starting at the Winter Solstice and ending at the Spring Equinox, I do not hold specific rights for Lord Apollo. I still call on him and honor him during my daily rituals - but I view this as more akin to writing him a letter; whereas holding a right for him is like throwing him a party.

How to Replace a Dishwasher Door Latch

I don't know if I should add a content warning to this. I probably will a bit later.

An idea for a PSA, inspired by all the bleak child and domestic abuse ones I'd seen... and a keychain I have. (I'll take the warning off so that you could see the idea. I'll put it back on if necessary.)

(We see a family of five, represented by keys and a puppy key chain. He is our narrator.)

"Hello, my name is Liam. I am 6. My family is very big."

(The bigger and smaller keys lock the first door. They cling to the chain.)

"Mom and Sis are a real good team. We talk to each other..."

(The biggest key locks the second door.)

"... Daddy plans trips for us..."

(The doorlatch (the one you press instead of turning to open doors) opens the door outside.)

".... and Gran always looks forward to things being "culturally appropriate". *chuckle*"

(The keys are then dumped into the backpack as it starts to shake.)

"Not everything goes to plan, tho. That's when my folks start chattering, talking, discussing..."

Of course, the AI was giving her a second chance. That was what they would have wanted for themself. How could they withhold a second chance from someone else when they themself was living on one?

"Thank you." It is unclear what the android was thanking her for. Even the AI themself wasn't so sure if they were thankful that Doom was physically helping the blue ranger or that Doom had not pulled away from them again. Perhaps it was for both.

The trip back to the base felt longer than it actually was. Between the tension of a relationship hanging by a thread and the increasingly incessant alerts from the unit's systems. Fivemind allowed themself to feel at least a little bit relieved at the sight of a familiar subway tunnel. Or well, what was going to be the entrance to a tunnel before construction was discontinued once previously overlooked flaws in the local geography were made known. So now all that was left was a half-finished segment of a tunnel.

"We have-- have arrived." There's a noteable static tinge to the blue ranger's voice. The unit itself was starting to stall. Additional warnings of a low battery level were being thrown into the mix.

A little ways into the tunnel and they would find a door sealed with a padlocked doorlatch that looked way newer than the door itself. The door itself was also locked with its own preexisting lock.

Unfortunately, with one arm used to support herself against Doomsday and the other arm hanging uselessly by her side, Blue Two was going to need some help with both locks.

A little panel on Blue's forearm, the one on the side Doom was supporting, clicked open.

"The keys are-are in there." They've already gotten this far. Might as well rely on Doomsday just a little more......not that they had a choice.

Oh hell. That hand on her shoulder feels like a scalding hot hunk of rock pressed down on her. It's not that Blue is putting too much weight on her or that Doom herself can't support Blue's weight - in fact, it doesn't take much effort on Doom's part at all to support her mechanical friend - it's the gesture itself. The fact that she's touching her, leaning on her, asking her for support where she could just as easily have pulled away and told her to fuck off instead. That's what Doom would have done. But Blue hasn't. Blue has decided to trust her. To let her help. To listen to her, To... possibly accept her apology and let the two of them talk. Where she certainly hasn't deserved it. And that's the pain of it. The weight of that gesture is what hurts so much.

But Doom can't pull away from it like she normally would have, like she might have done before or like she might have done for anyone else in this situation. She endures it, because if she pulls away, it's all over. This is her last chance to fix what she broke, and she if breaks their connection now, there will be no fixing anything. It'll be over before she even had a chance, and it'll be entirely her fault.

"All right. All right, if you say so, then I'll- then I believe you," Doom says, trying her best to will herself to stay calm, to will herself back into a state of calm, because she knows she became a bit desperate back there. Couldn't help it. And she knows that her state of panic isn't solely over losing Blue as a friend, but losing her entirely. Part of her knows it's probably ridiculous to be this scared over Blue being injured, given she's a mechanical being and injuries don't work the same for her as they do for organic beings. But still, Doom doesn't know that for sure, and she's not about to make assumptions where that's concerned, especially not after what happened to her Stanley. Once upon a time she thought he couldn't die either. And then he did.

There's a terrible battle being waged inside her, one among many, and this one is trying to decide whether she should be quiet or whether she should be saying something. She's afraid that if she says something, she'll fuck it up all over again. But staying quiet is terribly awkward too. So she nods and says, "Me too. I mean, I know you said to wait until we get back at base, so that's- that's what I'll do, and ah... right." And so, Doom begins trying to carefully script in her head exactly what she wants to say when it's time to talk. None of it makes any sense, even to her, and she doesn't think any of it is going to come out the way she wants it to.
