Like just in case ppl dont know this (which i dontblame you if you dont this is some really sweaty "I Read The Fandom Wiki" shit to know) if you play Tav then it means Orin sucessfully murdered Durge and you can find the default white dragonborn sorcerer Durge dead in her room at the temple of bhaal. But if you play as Durge, then Tav was investigating the bhaal cultists murders in bg a few months prior to the game and was murdered by Durge, who then obviously went on to survive Orin's attack. In other words, Tav and Durge are customizable but explicitly different characters, and in timelines where one lives the other is dead. If you play Tav it means Orin either got Durge earlier or you got lucky and narrowly escaped an encounter with Durge before you got tadpole'd. If you play Durge, it means Tav was one of your last victims before Orin betrayed you. Kind of dizzying to think about, but honestly, it's kind of a really cool story detail.

I saw a post idk how long ago that was like. "I hate when people act like durge and tav are the same thing/durge is a sub-catagory of tav" or w.e. and at the time i was like. I agree but who does that?? But ever since then i see people do it allllllllthe time and gotta be honest it is in fact a little annoying lmao. I believe that teaching accountability and taking responsibility, which basically sounds like the same thing is in shortage. I don’t always like swallowing those hard pills myself, but I do recognize it’s 100% tied back to the kind of person I want to be and definitely the kind of parent I want to be. I’m sure my kids are sick and tired of hearing me tell them to take ownership and responsibility for their actions/choices but too bad. I don’t plan on stopping.
