Wukong and nezha's dragons having less spastic reactions to eels, simply stretching there bodies away from the offending sea creature. Just physically "nope"ing away from it.

He sure learned quickly not to bring eels around mei XD

Smokey (Macaque's dragon), Ao Lie and Ao Bing just crawl away from the eel while staring it down.

Summary:With few friends at the Little Palace, Alina must work to win the favour of her fellow grisha and their commander, who makes her feel light headed every time she sees him.

After training in Os Alta for two years, the king grows tired of waiting and demands the Sun Summoner joins a western post near the Fjerdan border along with the rest of The Second Army to test her abilities.

Something happens. Suddenly, Alina wants blood to run down the rivers and those who stand in her and The Darkling’s way will be blinded by her light and swallowed by his shadows.

Chapter 5: Heartrenders

Days went by, and they turned into weeks. The leaves fell off the trees, a crunchy sea of red, orange, yellow and brown, and Alina wanted to pile them all on and throw herself inside.

She'd do it the first chance she got, but for that she had to beat the gardeners before they took the piles and burnt them to depressing ashes.

She talked to Michail some more during they rounds around the lake and had her rematch with Natasha.

She lost. Again. She laughed it off. Again. Natasha said she hadn't been so easy to defeat that second time, to which Alina smiled almost genuinely. Progress.

Baghra refused to see her still, and Alina was too proud to go back to her, so she tried to practice on her own. She'd hide away on the far sides of the gardens where the other grisha rarely went to and try to gain more control. It was a slow process; the temptation to let her power run free and vast was always there and trying to tame that always left her exhausted. She had no trouble falling asleep, yet each day the bags underneath her eyes seemed to deepen, as did her appetite. Alina was pretty sure that summoning should be for the better, but more than once, she had thoroughly considered laying down on the cold grass and take a nap there instead of walking all the way back to the Little Palace.

The General wasn't back yet, and much to Alina's confusion, frustration and shame, she worried. Maybe that too had something to do with the bags underneath her eyes. She tended to dream of him in all kinds of scenarios, each less pleasant than the last. It made her wake up sweaty and choking for air.

More than once, she almost wrote to him, only if just to make sure he was alright. But he had to be. Otherwise, word would've spread quickly…right?

She always talked herself out of it though. His presence was missed, her mind was making up all kind of tricks to make her reach out to him like a pathetic girl begging for attention.

The thought reminded her of Baghra's opinion of her, which only strengthened her resolve to not write to him.

She had had enough of begging, enough of getting scrapes of affection from a man who hadn't even bother to write once; she wouldn't do it again, no matter how much her heart tried to pull her to him.

But then her eyes would drift back to the black, shadow rose that laid on her nightstand, the little bit of gold on its inside long dead, and her heart would race and some form of reassurance would fall gently over her, like a blanket shielding her body.

She'd reach out and take it in her hands. It had no thorns. Her fingers would run through its petals, as soft as those of a real rose, but with something deeper in there. There was something more alive inside that rose than in any flower in all of Ravka; it was deep, powerful, and dark. It scared and alluded to her in the same measure, and she'd stare at it fascinated for an unfathomable long time.

She wondered if The Darkling could feel her caressing his shadows; and how he'd feel about it.

Besides Michail and Natasha, Alina didn’t seem to be progressing very much. They exchanged niceties and some jokes, even paired up during training, but there was not much more to it.

She told herself to be patient. These things took time.

One early afternoon, Genya showed up on her room unannounced. Alina hurried to hide her rose inside her nightstand; she wasn't sure why, but she wanted it to be her little secret.

"The Queen just left Os Alta." the redhead smiled. "As did the king. They'll be gone for two days on a hunting trip."

"A hunting trip?"

"Yes, where they kill animals for the fun of it. Like one of those brutish size competitions men seem to like so much."

Alina snorted.

"So?"

"So…"there was a gleam to her friend's eyes, and the summoner leaned back and frowned slightly, almost scared. "I could sneak you into the Grand Palace and into Her Royal Bitch's wardrobe."

"We'll get in trouble, Gen."

"Oh, please; have some faith in me." she placed her elbows on the desk and her chin atop of her hands, almost looking angelic. "Do you really think I'd get you in trouble?"

"Yes."

"Well, then you're wrong." she straightened up and tugged on Alina's arm. "C'mon; there's so many gowns and habits: she rarely wears them twice. We're not stealing; no one will know."

"How many gowns?" she asked, genuinely curious. She had seen the queen on two official occasions, the first time when she arrived from the camps near Kribirsk, and the second when she was invited to her ridiculous tea parade. Still, she had seen her in passing a few times as she strolled the grounds. A part of Alina felt ashamed of the jealousy she felt upon seeing her beautiful clothes and jewels.

There she was, living in a palace, wearing a kefta and being pampered, yet she dared to want more.

"Hundreds!" the Tailor whispered excitedly. "And they'll look much better on us anyway."

She gave in a little to temptation. They would just try them on and leave them again. No one would know, and maybe she'd be satisfied then.

"Alright, alright. But we better not get caught."

"Don't worry, we won't."

They left the bedroom and ran down the stairs, Genya holding onto the blue sleeve of her friend as she rambled about all the different fabrics and patterns and accessories while Alina tried to keep up with her, listening to every word while watching her step. The last thing she needed was to trip down the stairs.

That'd be a sad way to go for her.

"You'll love it. I promise!" Genya turned to give her a smile, but Alina's eyes drifted to the looming figure appearing in her line of vision.

The Darkling walked into the Little Palace accompanied by Ivan, Fedyor and a third heartrender.

It was a woman, a little bit older than Alina probably, but only for a few years. She was tall, with long, brown hair cascading down her back. Her kefta, which hugged her rounded figure nicely, gave her away as a fellow heartrender.

The Darkling noticed them approaching. Alina tried to search something in his eyes, anything that gave away any sort of emotion that could cause in him to see her again, but she saw nothing but his usual coolness.

The Summoner and the Tailor came to a stop and bowed.

"Moi Soverennyi." they bowed respectfully.

"Miss Starkov, Miss Safin; it has been some time." he looked from one to the other. "May I inquire as to your present activities?"

"Nothing we're not supposed to do." Alina spat out, earning herself a dainty elbow to the ribs.

General Kirigan rose an eyebrow.

"I see. See to it that it stays that way."

"Of course, sir." spoke Genya, serious all of a sudden.

The man turned and contemplated the strange woman for a moment, then gestured at Alina with a gloved hand.

"This is Alina Starkov, our Sun Summoner." he looked at her, those pools of grey catching her breath. "Miss Starkov, may I introduce you to Nina Zenik. She is one of my best agents and has just recently returned from an assignment in Shu Han."

The woman's green eyes settled on Alina, taking her in. Something glittered in there.

"So, she is real after all."

"Would I lie to you?" was The Darkling's reply.

"You forgot to mention how pretty she is." Nina ignored him, taking a long, stealth step towards her and catching a tendril of Alina's dark hair in her fingers.

"Um, it's a pleasure to meet you." The Sun Summoner managed to say, nervous under the woman scrutiny.

"Oh, a pleasure indeed, sun bean." Nina smiled, amusement shining in her eyes as Alina's face heated up. "I can't wait to make your acquaintance."

Before Alina could even think of an answer -for the woman's pretty eyes were too distracting- The Darkling cleared his throat.

"Not for some time, I am afraid." he said. Alina finally turned her gaze to him. There was something dark and intense in the way he was staring at Nina's back, his jaw tense. "Miss Starkov has quite the busy schedule."

Alina felt Genya tensing beside her. Nina's eyes slid momentarily, as if she could see The Darkling behind her, and nodded, winking at her before receding.

"Certainly. I can only imagine." she turned a charming smile on him. "Should we discuss my mission in private?"

"Of course." he answered almost, almost too quickly. He made a gesture for her to go in first.

"See you around, sun bean."

Alina choked on her own saliva as she struggled to say her farewell.

Ivan left with them without even glancing in their direction; Fedyor was kind enough to give them each a courteous smile.

Genya was giggling like an idiot.

"Shut up."

Now she was laughing. 

During their training one day, Alina decided to pair up with her. Many grisha gave her a myriad of odd looks, and for a moment, Alina feared she might be about to face another Zoya.

Nina seemed to not to notice them and beckoned her forward.

People seemed to like Nina, Alina observed. The woman had charm and wit; the Sun Summoner really had to try to not get jealous of those traits. She reminded herself that Nina had been at the Little Palace for years, not one season and a half.

They circled each other, taking their measures.

Alina didn't want to be the one to strike first. That always had seemed to go wrong thus far, so she waited.

The heartrender went to the left, so Alina turned, only to be tricked as she received a blow on her right. She winced and stood back, more alert. She didn't want to make a ridicule again.

"You're small and skinny." the heartrender whispered. Alina arched an eyebrow. "I'm bigger and stronger, so your best option is to tire me out."

"I'm not exactly the fastest person."

Nina threw a punch and, luckily, Alina blocked it successfully.

She shook her head.

"Speed and resistance don't need to go hand in hand."

Alina didn't dare to look around to see if anyone else could hear them. She hoped not. Botkin would most certainly disapprove of his students giving each other advice on how to defeat them.

So, with Nina's words in mind, Alina did her best to block and recede. She tried, mostly unsuccessfully, to punch and kick, and received a wince and an "ouch" as Nina rubbed her calf.

The Summoner could feel everyone still watching, Marie and Nadia cheering her on; Sergei and Michail more reserved since she was fighting a fellow red sporter.

Then, Alina caught a glimpse. It was a second, and before she even knew it, she was taking a chance.

Nina was placing her foot down, twisting it as if to test it, and the next she was laying on her back, Alina having all but hurled herself at the woman, grabbing her middle section with all her strength and pushing.

They landed on the ground, and in the disbelief, the Summoner almost forgot to fully immobilize her opponent the way Botkin had taught her.

"You know," Nina gasped, the breath having abandoned her lungs. "There's better ways to get on top of me, sun bean, but if you like it rough-"

Alina blushed in embarrassment, both for having potentially hurt her and for the path those words were leading to.

"Are you alright?" she interrupted hurriedly. "Did I hurt you?"

Nina tried to laugh and cried instead.

"Shit, sun bean. You do have some strength in that tiny body after all."

"Alright!" Botkin clapped his hands twice, coming over toward them. "The little girl wins again, …finally."

Alina was almost offended. At least Marie and Nadia were cheering, as were some others Etherealki. She noticed Sergei and Michail exchanging some coins and scowled.

"Healer." she called, and one hurried to Nina's side.

"It's just a broken rib." the woman said, setting herself to work.

Nina raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I'm impressed, sun bean. I didn't actually think you'd win."

Alina found a new hiding spot where to practice her summoning. It was a most secluded corner, surrounded by old trees, an unkept stone bench and a dirty sculpture of a woman.

She really wanted to be offended.

With eyes wide, she forgot all about her practice, raced and jumped in, laughing childishly to herself.

She looked up and took in the warmth of the sun with pleasure, her face basking in it as her hands ran through leaves and sticks. It was actually a little uncomfortable, but fun.

She almost wished she could sink in and stay there forever, with the sun warming her body and the crunchy leaves all around her.

There was a big pile of leaves.

"Did you fall?"

A shadow took the light from her face, and she found The Darkling standing over her, looking down with something akin to curiosity.

"No. I just jumped."

"Into a pile of dirt?"

"It's not dirt. Besides, it's fun!" she extended a hand. "Wanna try?"

He huffed. Her cheeks heated up. She should've known better.

He took her hand and pulled her up, the mere contact making everything about him feel more intense as usual.

She held onto him.

"How did you find me?"

"You are my Sun Summoner; did you really think I would let you wander about the palace grounds unguarded?"

"Do you have me followed?" she had never noticed.

"For your safety."

"I thought this was the safest place in all of Ravka."

"I am not taking any chances with you, Alina." he replied, eyes guarded, face soft.

"Well, I've never noticed them."

"It means they are doing a good job. I would not want you to live scared, looking over your shoulder all the time."

"I might as well start now that I know."

He opened his mouth and then closed it, thumb rubbing the back of her hand. Alina wondered if he noticed what he was doing.

"You are right." he stepped closer, pulling a leaf off her hair. "But you need not fear, especially while I am on the palace grounds."

"Because not even the dumbest drüskelle would dare to cross paths with you?"

"Nor would the boldest noble."

Alina frowned. The nobles of Os Alta?

She nodded slowly.

"I have scared you." he stated, studying her face. "I apologize."

"No, no." she let go of his hand. "You just made me wearier."

"That is just how life at court is." he offered, not unkindly. "This is not just an army sometimes, especially for you and I."

Alina looked at him, questioning.

"There is no one else like us, Alina." he said, approaching her once more. The calmness, the facts were gone, replaced by a fire she wanted to step into. The vehemence in his voice made her shiver and want to take refuge in his cloak. "There never will be."

She thought about it. What exactly did he mean by that?

He reached out again and plucked another leaf from her hair, then took her face in his hands. She tilted her head up, desperate for a look into those eyes.

Her heart drummed on her ribcage, wanting to break free.

"I-" words failed her as he studied her face, like she was something unique he wanted to memorize.

His thumb ran over her lips, and she exhaled heavily at the feel.

"I forgot what I came here to tell you." he whispered in confidence, his eyes on her parted lips.

"I don't care."

One of his hands left her face and wrapped around her waist, pressing her against his hard chest. Alina almost gasped, hands coming up to rest on his shoulders. He pressed his forehead against hers and closed his eyes, hiding the conflict she had briefly witnessed there.

Alina made a choice.

She leaned forward and pressed her lips to his.

He reciprocated immediately, holding her tighter and pushing his tongue inside her mouth, demanding a dominance she was more than willing to give him.

She had been kissed, but never like this. It was a first kiss that felt like the last; its intensity so beautifully crushing and chaotic. It was like he was a missing part of her, long searched for and finally found. It was like she was the most precious, addictive treasure, something to be cherished and corrupted at the same time.

Alina was willing to let him do as he wanted with her.

Her hands pulled at his hair, earning a growl. Their eyes met briefly, the desire in them fighting to see whose was grander, before kissing again.

It was like he wanted to pull her closer still, the barrier of clothes too much. Something told Alina that the lack of them wouldn't satisfy either of them anyways.

He kissed her jaw, travelling his way up to her earlobe.

"You make me weak." he whispered harshly, only to proceed to ravish the parts of her neck that were exposed.

"You make me strong." she answered, craning her neck to give him better access.

Growling, he gave her ass a hard squeeze and pushed her back against a tree. She could feel the tug and crunches of the leaves as he buried his hands in her hair but didn't care.

She wanted more.

And more.

She drew his lips back to hers. He reached for the belt which held her kefta closed.

"Sir!"

The next thing Alina knew was that she was standing against a tree, her back aching and her body cold, yet her face hot.

She looked at The Darkling, who seemed almost unperturbed as he smoothly fixed his hair and clothes, standing at a respectable distance from her.

Ivan appeared, seeming to be in a hurry.

Alina narrowed her eyes at him. As if she didn't dislike him enough already, the little shit.

"Moi Soverennyi, you are needed in the king's counsel immediately."

"Tell that grump I shall be there shortly."

Ivan bowed and left, not even acknowledging Alina's presence.

The Darkling cleared his throat. She turned her dark gaze on him, cheeks burning against the cold air, lips probably bruised.

What had just happened?

She wasn't sure, but she wanted to do it again. The Darkling, on the other hand, remained stoic as he stared into her eyes, as if nothing had occurred between them.

"I understand that you have been training on your own;" he said, as if he were talking to any other grisha, ever polite and smooth, voice reassuring yet commanding." I shall speak to Baghra so you may return to your lessons."

"But I don't wann-"

With him gone, the early winter sun felt cold.

"Miss Starkov." he bowed to her respectfully and marched away, disappearing from view within seconds.

I just left a homebrew dnd campaign I've a message for new DM's

If your running a campaign for 2 ppl and there level 3 do not throw cr 6 and 9 monsters at them. For the love of the divine do not.

Extremely fustrating and deadly. And dont use the monsters from a homebrew forum bc it just sounds cool. Bc that "cool" cr 6 hag going against a lv3 party with multiple attack. Multiple spell cast and spell immunity and able to polymorph into any creature it wants at will is devastating.

Just to rant here. I lost 3 characters in 1 hour. My lv 3 barbarian (minotaur zelot). My battlemaster (centaur) and my wizard (yuan ti)

To be a dm ya have to balance and make sure every fight isnt designs to just upright kill ppl at the start bc. 5d12 worth of dmg with multiple attack on a hag or any creature. Is friggin broken.

There no way in hell a monster for a party of 2, level 3 adventures should hit for 5d12 (3 times) and be able to cast 2 spells (at will without using a spell slot) EVERY ROUND. And on top of that have a movement speed of 90 and an ac of 23. (I asked the dm to let me see what he was using and thers more. Swim of 30, fly of 300 ect this is pretty much a god with its stats but the cr says 6. It dosent even feel like a 6. More like a lv 20 broken sack of crap)

This is the reason there are tutorial guides in the book(s) and youtube to show you why you should look at cr then your players levels b4 u design an encounter.

I cant describe how fustrating it was to see my barbarian. Who I spent 5hours making just get tapped lightly and die. Bc 48 hp at lv 3 and taking well over 10 pts of dmg bc apparently she crit me on all attacks and only did like 1 attack to our female player (for 2 dmg with a level 6 scorching ray [its bs] ) was "Fair bc your a barbarian and should be able to tank this EASILY" (quote the dm.)

If there is a way to piss off players it's this and having a game were you get railroaded so hard it's a traveling trip with skill checks with a minimum of 18-20 to notice something like a bear on the road when the weather is CLEAR and everyone is PAYING THE HELL ATTENTION ON A BANDIT HIGHWAY. Not to mention the SCREAMS OF A CYCLOPS AS IT LITERALLY SMASHES INTO THE CARAVAN ACROSS A PLANE WITH A FEW TREES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

Oh and let me not forget the NPCS WHO WANT TO SLEEP WITH EVERYONE BC THEY THINK THERE HOT AND DESERVE A NICE HOT MEAT ROD FOR THEIR SERVICES OF INTRODUCING THEMSELVES.

"GEE-WILLY Mr. Person surely it couldnt be that bad?" This guys campaign was pretty much parappa the rapper, jojo bizarre adventures, bloodborne, Resident evil and memes.

I had a character who came in and apparently they caused the world to have wormholes? (Somehow) and referenced it everytime we played even when that character died. In session one. Bc apparently a company named (I kid you not) Shoe Rack was the equivalent of resident evil's umbrella cooperation. Complete with a drow leader and a litch bookkeeper who turned everyone into zombies to work for free while they apparently made diamonds to sell for millions of gold and keep the workers working g for 1 copper every month. Only giving gold to ppl that would sleep with them.

Not to mention apparently everyone in this world had magic resist or spell immunity to everyone except to females. And when I made a female char apparently that rule became I valid and it was just a straightforward

Me: does a 17 hit?

Dm: well it would but .... *they grin*

Me: but?

Dm: they use a special ring to catch the spell and cast meteor swarm on you point blank.

Me: well they get hit too I just stabbed them with a dagger.

Dm: no you see it's a SMALL METEOR THAT ONLY HITS THE PERSON THAT HIT THEM

Me: so they and my teammate. Who has literally been stabbing them are fine?"

Dm: yes

Me (takes like 589 pts of dmg and is ded)

Dm: the litch turns to you and asks if you want a cup of coffee.

Female player: umm sure?

Dm: whoo-yeah. Combat over you get 500 go and a date with the litch.

Me: I'm sorry what?

Female player: umm...ok. awsome.

Me: ......ok cool so I'll just bring in-

Dm: no that's cool the litch revives yorubas a female zombie slave.

Me: why?

Dm: and you need to have sex to keep yourself alive.

Me: yeah no. I'll just bring in my centaur battle master

1 hour later

Dm: you take umm..let's see *rolls dice.*

Me: (waiting)

Dm: *rolls a shit ton more dice*

Me: (waiting)

Dm: oh oh no *grins*

Me: (takes 40 dmg) I'm still up

Dm: how?

Me: I have 48 hp....I'm still up

Dm: ok it's your attack I guess.

Me: rolls a nat 1 "ok I guess I have disadvantage on my next att-"

Dm: rolls a d100 and a d10 (the percentile)

Me: what are you doing?

Dm: rolling for severity of your fail. Btw how much dmg does your lance do?

Me: it does 1d12 dmg and why are you using severity. That's not in 5e and you said we-

Dm: as you fail you accidentally stab yourself in the throat as your spear hits a rock and you take *rolls dice* 35 pts of dmg

Me: ok I'm out that's bs. Number one and two I have a lance and thers no way I can do 35 dmg. I get about 24 dmg on a crit and 28 if I use my racial feature to kick a person at max with a crit.

Dm: oh your just being salty, you dont play fair!

Me: excuse me?

Dm: ALL YOU DO IS PLAY SPELL CASTWRS AND THATS CHEATING!

Me: bc everyone has spell immunity for some reason or only takes 1/4 the dmg. I'm pretty much useless and am being fored to play melee unlike our LOREMASTER BARD who got an item to DOUBLE HER DMG AND SPELL SLOTS AND CRIT ON A 15 PERMANENTLY (this is the female btw)

Dm: well maybe you should have slept with the litch

Me: she literally found that item in a store for like 3 silver and when I looked (with a 17 arcana check) I found a rusty dagger and a flask of poisoned potion.

Dm: well maybe roll higher?

Female player: umm I rolled like a 10 and found this that's kind of cool but I dont think it's fair. But o wanna keep my items

Dm: ugh fine. You keep yours. Ummm (to me) I guess you get a potion of greater healing for....umm 500 go.

Me:.......nah I'm good, FUCK IT. I'll just make another spell caster Oops. Cant do that. How about a nope. Cant make a barbar I'm going to make a artificer

Me: why?

Dm: they're broken its not good.

Me: *with the book* not broken..ulyou know what why dont you make me a character and I'll use that.

Dm: hands me a sheet

Me: reads "Zonia the sexy zombie elf sex slave that gets stronger every time she has sex?" *Looks at everyone* ok I'm out enjoy the campaign.

Dm: we cant have a dnd adventure with only 1 person.

Me: yes you can you've been doing it since session 1. I'm out goodbye. I'm still running my campaign on sunday. I wont hole anything against you. But I will not sit here and be shit on bc I refuse to kiss yur ass and make a slut of a character. Pull your head from your ass. I'm taking my stuff and I'm out.

Dm: but I need the dm screen and the mat and the markers.

Me: then buy your own or use theater of mind. I'm out.

Like how bad is it to want to be a dm to shit on ppl. THIS, THIS IS NOT OK. and no one wants a zombie sex slave that can only have sex and has a str of 0 a con of 30 a dex of 1 a cha of 40 and so on. Its friggin stupid!

Anyway that's my rant. Im....I think I'm just done with dms and crap I just want to play a dnd game I can be happy with. And not always be the Forever dm. Who has players challenge everything. Like why as a monk they cant use sleight of hand to CATCH A FRIGGIN FIREBALL AND/OR AN ARROW AIMED AT ANOTHER PERSON.

James just texted me that he has another flat tire. This boy!! I will go pick him up after work. I am not thrilled that I will have to leave the house but it is okay. I am glad I can rescue him. 

And today was a pretty excellent day. I really need to get more sleep. Its just been a lot. Like I leave the house a little after 7 and get home a little before 6 every day, Its a lot of work! And I just feel very burnt out. But I am holding it together. James gave me some good hugs and sent me on my way. 

I had a good drive in, even if I had a scare when a person almost merged into me. I had to honk my horn to let them know I was there. Scary. 

The work day itself was good though. I helped with drop off a little. And then I had 4 classes and honestly they were all pretty excellent. I love working with the older kids. And I had Olive's group first thing and that was fun. They were very good kids. 

And I felt really good because they were all really into this project. A few of the kids just did the random thing, but some of them went full in. I said this was a memory jar for camp, and they really took that to heart. They explained to me what parts of camp meant the most to them. Swimming. Horses. Hiking. Friends. It was so sweet. And some of them did amazingly well with the actual mosaic aspect. It was great. 

I was worried that I was going to run out of the ceramic adhesive, but Heather was going out to grab the package with the new container, and I was able to make it through the whole first class without an issue. So that was good. 

Once that class was over though I went to sit at the office for a bit. I thought Heather would be there or would be coming back but she ended up going past the office and just dropping the box off for me at the art shed, so I went back up there. 

I chilled out for a while. I read the book I brought. Its a memoir and honestly. Pretty upsetting. I am going to finish it because Im like half way through but honestly its very upsetting. 

Though I am really excited that I am reading again. I missed reading so much and its just been so good for my soul. And my mind. I am already feeling a little better. I dont want to lose that feeling. 

The afternoon was also really good. I got to hear some gossip and drama. But mostly we all just made art and enjoyed the 4 hammocks I have now! The 4th one camp yesterday and that should be the last hammock I should need. My idea is that when we go camping next month with Evan and Noelle, each couple will have a double hammock and a single hammock to use, I hope we have enough trees to make it work. I just love hammocks so much. 

It was really just a nice day. I was kind of cold for a lot of the day. I have been switching into my rain boots and sock out of my sandals a lot.  But I noticed that I have worn them out. I have had them a lot of years so it may be time to replace them. Ill be on the look out I suppose. 

The end of the day brought me cleaning and getting ready for tomorrow. It would have been the last day of camp. But there are 2 extra weeks now. And when I went to the office I got looped into a discussion about how they will break down the day because the different grades are laid out differently for their online schooling. So well see but I am hoping I can work out a half day situation so I can get more sleep. Well see how it works out. I was glad to be a part of the conversation. 

I headed out after helping with a couple kids getting to their parents cars. I got home and ran into Kim and Kia the dog. Kia saw me across the street and was already wiggling with excitement. I love dogs. 

I actually did some studio stuff today!! I got upstairs and gave sweetp hugs. I cleaned a little. I had dinner. Made stuffing. And then I worked on my quilt. Its my brother's birthday today!! And I plan on giving him this quilt on sunday when I go up to visit my family. I am hoping to finish it all on saturday but I got to use my free quilting foot on the sewing machine for the first time and its like super easy and I am thrilled. So the quilted bit will be done quick I think. I only work on it for like a half hour and then I was like. Very tired. But I did do work and that felt good!

I have been hanging out since then. I got the mail. My scrunchies came. And another book. And soon I will head out of here to go get James. 

Tomorrow is going to be the last day of camp for a lot of people. So that will be weird. But it will be a good day. I hope you all have a good day too. Sleep well and be safe!!

Dean Winchester x Reader

The torturing of Dean went on for days. Sometimes it was just the two of you, his emerald eyes void of any emotion as he stared your way. Many of the times you had your eyes closed, not wanting to see the talented hunter torn down a peg.

Each and every night Alistair would greet you as you left, smiling gleefully at the blood covering you and your torture devices. Making you tell him every little detail, clapping his hands together with the news.

“I think you have broken the famous hunter,” he exclaimed. “Soon, he will become the torturer beside you.”

A part of you hoped that wasn’t the case. You wanted him to resist no matter what you did to him. You wanted him to fight, to show you that steel backbone you knew he had.

Walking past Alistair, you made your way to your tiny little room, knowing that tomorrow would be exactly the same as today.

With the smell of sulfur stronger than ever, you made your way down the hallway. Things seemed more frantic than normal, screams louder against your ears. “There’s something in the air,” one of the Demons muttered as he walked past, and you had to agree. Something was going to happen today, but you weren’t sure what.

Alistair was nowhere to be seen, and you were relieved. Taking the blade from the stand, you quietly walked into Dean’s torture chamber. He was already hanging on the rack, dark circles under his eyes, his shoulders slumped. “Hello Dean,” you spoke, the blade hanging heavily in your hand. “How are you feeling?”

“Like you care,” he mumbled, never looking up.

“Dean…,” you started, not sure what you wanted to say. You were a Demon. You should be laughing in his face, ready to stick the knife through his blades, feeling the warmth of his blood against your fingers. But there was something about him that had you hesitating.

“Dean, I know you don’t trust me. And I don’t blame you. I’ve tortured you, every way I could think of. But that’s because I have no other choice,” you tried telling him.

He finally looked up, his emerald eyes rimmed in red, full of distrust and hatred. “I call bullshit. You always have a choice.”

You continued on as if you hadn’t heard him in the first place. “There’s something different with today. I don’t know what, but we can all feel it. Do you feel it?”

“Yes,” he answered, dropping his head back down. “I have no idea what it means.”

“I think it has something to do with you,” you admitted, laying the blade down on the ground before gently grasping his chin and tilting his head up. At first he fought your touch, trying to pull away. But when you made no move to hurt him, he stilled, his eyes searching your face. “I think there’s some powerful being that is mad that you’re down here.”

“I don’t know anyone powerful,” he grumbled.

“But you do have a reputation,” you insisted.

“So what if they’re coming? You know, and you’ll stop them before they get very far.”

“What if I don't?” You thought out loud. “What if I make sure they can make it through to you?”

“Why would you do that? You’ve tortured me every day. You’ve used my Dad and my Brother against me. This is just another trick of yours, and I’m not going to fall for it. So pick up that blade, and do your worst.”

“No, I don’t think so,” you told him. “Alistair’s gone, and he’s been the one ordering me. Today we will watch. And wait. For what, I do not know. But something big is going to happen.”

Leaving the blade on the ground in front of Dean, you went back towards the door. The air current was so thick it almost crackled with electricity. The brimstone and sulfur burnt at your nose. Souls screamed for forgiveness, to be saved, even louder than normal. Demons ran back and forth, lost and confused. Nothing was like normal, and even you felt the pull of chaos.

Suddenly the lights vanished. Pitch Black filled your vision as screams picked up even louder than before. Your eyes struggling to get used to the light, you could hear other Demons muttering about, before that was gone, much like the lights.

Knowing your prediction had come true, you shut the door, turning back to Dean. Only his outline was seen, his head up as he struggled against his chains.

“Dean, they’re here,” you told him, searching the room for something to break him free of his chains. Sure, releasing him would mean your life, but you couldn’t help yourself. Dean Winchester needed saved to go on and do better things, and you would die happy knowing you had a part in that. “We need to get you freed!”

“Why? Why are you helping me?” He asked, stilling as you came closer.

“Because you don’t belong here. You belong topside, where you can save people from monsters like me.”

Picking up the blade, you smashed the heavy handle against the shackles, wishing that you had stolen the key from Alistair. With your Demon strength, it took only a couple of minutes before the lock cracked under the pressure, and Dean was free. By this time the entire building shook, the screams eerily quiet.

Dean was weak, almost falling out of the shackles and into your arms. Holding him up, you slowly made your way to the door, the sound of rustling wings heard outside. “Y/N, you’re a Demon,” Dean started, his words no doubt meant to hurt. “Whatever is out there to save me will no doubt kill you.”

“I don’t care,” you insisted. “Dean, I’ve lived a long time. I’ve tortured a lot of souls. I will die happy knowing that I finally did something good.”

“You are different than the Demons I have met,” he stated. “I hate to think of you dying because of me.”

“I can put you back on the rack,” you sassed at him, knowing that time was growing short.

“No!”

“Then let’s get you out of here.” With him finally able to stand on his own, you opened the door. Peering outside you saw bright glowing eyes right in front of you. Much taller than you, their wings spread, they were a sight to behold, even in the dark.

“Demon,” one spat, his voice rough and deep. “Meet your death.”

“As long as Dean will be safe,” you pleaded, stepping to the side to show Dean free from the rack.

“A Demon worried about a soul?” The strange winged creature muttered, turning to his friends. His eyes were an icy blue, bright in the dark.

“Worried about this soul,” you corrected him. “He needs to be free. Topside where he can save people.”

Moving faster than light, one of the creatures had you pressed against them, a cold blade pressed against your neck. “Don’t!” Dean exclaimed as the blue eyed one held him up. “She helped me!”

“She tortured you!” They argued.

“True, but she also knew you were coming. She released me. I think we should do the same for her,” Dean argued.

You could see the creatures considering his request, the blade still tight against your neck. “Angels don’t usually offer plea bargains to lowly Demons,” he muttered. “But because you asked, we will. This once!”

“I can show you the way out,” you tried as the blade slowly moved away from your neck.

“Lead the way. Any funny business, and you will be dead before you blink.”

Shakily, you turned down the hallway, taking them to the seldom used tunnel in the back. It led out to one of Hell’s gates, one long forgotten. They could escape that way, and you could as well. Because there was no way you would go back to face the wrath of Alistair.

“How far?” The blue eyed Angel asked you, making sure to keep Dean behind him.

“Not much farther. This exit isn’t used much,” you explained. Rounding the corner, you came to it. Nothing more than a sliver in the wall, barely big enough for you to squeeze through. But it was freedom, and that’s what you needed more than anything right now. “There it is. You still have to fight to go topside, but you’ll be out of Hell.”

Reaching behind him, the Angel placed his hand on Dean’s shoulder. Dean cried out in pain as the Angel floated through, Dean in his grasp. The others followed suit, and as soon as they were gone, the lights came back on. Demons yelled throughout the hallway, and if you didn’t vanish now, you never would be able to.

Jumping through the sliver. You closed your eyes, feeling yourself falling. Time seemed to freeze, and you had no idea how long you had been falling before you landed on your rump. “Where am I?” You asked. Surrounded by trees, the sun beat down on you. It had been decades since you had been topside, and you wondered what had changed while you had been gone. Knowing you had no choice, you began walking, looking for some sort of landmark. All the time wondering what the Angels had planned for Dean.

"Day three - I have no idea what I am doing"

Natsuki sat under the shade of a tree, writing her diary. "I have evaded recapture for three days straight. I saw a girl yesterday, she was really cute and distracted dad for me. She didnt wanna play unfortunately. :("

"Im out of food again, but what else is new?"

"On my map there should be a hiking trail rest stop. There I can drink the free water and beg for money. I am hoping there are some generous people there, or I will be in a seriously desperate situation... In other words, if I dont get any food, im fucked.""

Natsuki stopped writing and chewed on her eraser for a bit, before erasing "fucked" and writing "screwed" in its place.

"There!" She thought. "Now if someone finds this, they can give copies to kids!"

PISHH

A thick layer of leaves crunched as the small Finland rocket, Kuusi Palaa, crashed into them in order to land. "Holy cr- oh, um, konichiwa!" natsuki said politely.

Kuusi Palaa dragged herself out of the leaves, and waved to Natsuki. She was smiling but not saying anything, as she assumed extremely few people in this country speak Finnish. In fact, most Americans had no idea where Finland even was. Or anything about it.

"Omae owah, de shinderu!!" Natsuki cried out, drawing her toy katana. Kuusi Palaa immediately shook her head and held her hands up.

Natsuki narrowed her eyes. "...Nani?"

Kuusi Palaa did not understand what on earth she was saying so she tried to communicate anyway. "Hijoy malaa polkken sijarven min kioski daa." She explained. "Kyoo musui?"

"Uh..." Natsuki Nagasaki could only shrug at that. Then she sheathed her katana and tried to give Kuusi Palaa a handshake. But she ended up just shaking the whole upper body of the Finn.

Then natsukis stomach growled, and she rubbed her belly while making sad noises. This struck a bit of sympathy from Kuusi, who went to go bring her something to eat. She motioned for natsuki to stay there, since Kuusi Palaa might otherwise be unable to find her again. Then she darted off.

...

Some criminal actives later, Kuusi Palaa returned with sandwich of cheese grill. Natsuki was dozing happily under a tree. In her lap was the manga book "Dino in Kyoto! (5)" with a picture of two dinosaur girls dressed in cartoon caveman outfits. One seemed to be representing an Allosaurus, who was playfully nibbling on a Tetradon. There was also a pterodactyl girl flying about in the background, but she wasnt important to the story and was mostly there for fanservice since she often flew at an angle to the POV so that you could catch a glimpse of her-

Wait, I am going into much too much detail about a manga book Natsuki Nagasaki likes.

Plop!

The sandwich fell on natsukis head.

"Kuo! Nani?" Natsuki Nagasaki picked it up. She smiled at the Finn who was still flying around. She wanted to thank her, but was not sure what "Thank you" in Japanese was so instead she shouted "Sugoi!"

Kuusi Palaa did not know what that meant, but she was having trouble finding a nice spot to land. The leaves from before were scattered and too spread out to safely slam into.

She knew that Natsuki Nagasaki would help her if she could, but Kuusi Palaa had no way of asking for help. She could show distress, but how would her friend know what the problem was?

Kuusi Palaa did not have the fuel to just keep flying on and on, so she had no choice but to crash into the one potentially soft thing around: Natsuki Nagasaki.

She cut the throttle of her engine, and swooped down towards her. She closed her eyes and wanted for the impact.

Instead of landing on Natsuki, however, she landed on the ground next to her and was consequently knocked out.

Natsuki Nagasaki snorted and started giggling, thinking it was a joke. Then became seriously concerned because Kuusi Palaa wasnt moving. She gave her a light poke, but the Finn did not budge. Then she waited for a few seconds, but nothing. Then she picked her up and examined her and realized with a shock that she wasnt sure if Kuusi was breathing, so she still needed something. But what? Then Natsuki realized: Now was the time to give CPR!

Kuusi Palaa was quite tough for such a small rocket, and came to quickly while natsuki tapped her chest. The first thing she saw was natsukis cupcake-chomping mouth looming towards her.

She immediately screamed in pure "Oh god not this again" terror and throttled her rocket back on, flying straight out of natsukis hands (thankfully without hurting her.) and into a bunch of branches in the tree above, where she got stuck. Her rocket flame lit the branches and leaves ablaze, and with a terrified yelp thrashed her way out of the tree and plopped down onto natsukis lap. The flame burnt out, unable to spread on the damp spring leaves and branches.

Natsuki Nagasaki began petting her and making conjoling noises, realizing that she must have thought she was trying to bite her. At the same time Kuusi Palaa realized that she must have been attempting to preform CPR on her, due to the chest tapping involved.

The two them read Dino in Kyoto! (5) together, neither understanding the words but both somehow enjoying it anyway. Neither of them knew that they were both being hunted by seperate parties still.

Life seemed harder now then it did before daily chores now seem impossible. Newt walked around with walls built around him afraid someone would notice the sadness hidden in his eyes. Everybody else always seemed so happy most of the time, somhow able to live a normal life not always thinking about the bad things. Oh the bad things thats a thing all in it’s own: bad things seemed to be all newts mind was made up of, it was a whole bunch of bad moment put together. Not that it was anybody elses fault but his own,he wasn’t smart enough, he didn’t have abs and he lived a poor life, a sad life, a life alone. 

Whether it’s the weather or the ledges by my bed

Sometimes death seemes better then the migraine in my head

Let it be said what the headache represents 

Its me defending in suspence it’s me suspending in a defentless test 

Being tested by a ruthless examiner 

Some days were better then others but the good days still weren’t good days they were just better then the bad ones. The bad ones were spend in bed looking up at the ceiling with a feeling of numbness not sure what to do but not wanting to do anything. The days after those were the worst getting out of bed was like trying to win an unbeatable war, except the war was against my mind. The mind is always going to win and there isn’t much you can do about it, atleast not over night. You can figure out ways to beat it but you will always be a slave to it. It’s a never ending unstoppable force that can kill you without even trying. Somedays were better then others but that didn't mean they were good days because Newt forgot what a good day felt like.

 As much as newt didn’t want people to see what happened behind closed doors he wanted them to see him and not walk past without a smile. He wanted them to see that he almost never left his apartment and that he was never with anybody but himself. His friends, newt had friends he had great friends or so he thought. He had tried to act normal when his friends were around. He would go out and party he would go on their crazy adventures and would smile a normal amount. It was never good enough though, they started to notice something was wrong.

“Newt are you okay” Minho asked?

Newt froze in place afraid to do anything but knew he had to do something. He turned around slowly and looked his friend in the eye.

“I know your not” Minho said answering his own question. 

Newt looked at him as fear clouded his vision. “I’m totally fine, I don’t even know what your talking about” newt lied. Minho looked him over as if trying to get him to tell the truth but newt had been hiding this secret for too long and he wasn’t about to give it up now. Minho stood silenly as minutes passed not doing or saying anything. 

“Why are you lying to me, I just want to help you?”

Newt knew he was lying and he knew he needed help but for some reason hearing somebody else say it made him angry. “I don’t need your help even if something was wrong, why won’t you just leave me alone?”

As soon as the words left his mouth Newt regreted it but he could’t take them back it would bring up questions he didn’t want to answer. Newt looked up at Minho expecting anger or surprise but he looked casual he looked the same as before. “If you do ever decide you want me for any reason you know how to find me.”

“I don’t need you and I won’t need you what part of that don’t you understand” Newt screamed without thinking! Minho nodded his head walking off and newt hadn't seem him since.

Behind my eyelids are islands of violence

Life was still managing to get harder, Newt looked back to just a week ago and laughed at how easy he had it then. He could no longer look in mirrors not wanting to see himself he didn't want o go out and witness couples finding love and friends becoming closer. He knew he was getting worse and he knew if he got any worse he wouldn’t be able to handle it. He already couldn’t handle it, he constanly thought how easy it would be to take those sleeping pills or to just slide that knife up his arm. Everytime he came close to doing it his mind would stop him, telling him how selfish he was for only thinking about himself and not thinking about how others might feel when they have to clean up his body. 

This was a constant cycle if he didn’t have to work this is all he would do. He would poke at his skin for hours somehow thinking if he poked hard enough muscles would grow. Newt was getting worse by the second and he needed it all to stop so he tried counseling. He was still going but it had been three months and he only seemed to stay the same but he supposed it was better then getting worse. After that he tried to excersise and try new hobbies but all that did is make him tired faster which in the end made things worse. he was so close to the edge one more step and he was gone.

And I will say that we should take a day to break away

 From all the pain our brain has made, the game is not played alone

And I will say that we should take a moment and hold it

And keep it frozen and know that life has a hopeful undertone

As much as things were looking down Newt was tired of it. He had tried everything and as much as his therapist didn’t want to admit it therapy wasn’t working. Newt didn’t know what to do so he sunk deeper and deeper into his depression. After so long of sinking he no longer felt like there was a way back up so he gave up trying. He no longer cared about himself. 

Newt was packing up boxes as he had to move out next week and he had been to tired to pack anything until the last minute. He worked hard for hours trying to get atleast one room in his apartment done. He started on his bookshelf shoving hanfuls of books in boxes and works his way around him room. Newt pauses when he sees a picture on his nightstand. He walks over and takes a quick look at it. It’s a picture of Newt and Minho at the carnival from three years ago. A smile slips on his face as the memory washes over him.He stopped in his steps as he realized he was happy even if it was only for a second. Newt stopped everything he was doing and rushed to his car. Newt did’t even think about where he was going he just went without a second thought. As he pulled in and parked he rushed up a flight of stais and stood at the door. He was too afraid to knock but also to afraid to leave. He stood there for a few minute before knocking. He moved back and forth on his feet suddenly second guessing his desicions but before he had the chance to leave the door opened.

“Newt is that you” Minho asked a hint of happiness in his voice?

Newts eyes started to tear up but he tried to stay strong “I ju-just need help.”

Minho brought him in for a hug and let him in his house and slowly newt got better. It took time and patience but with those things and love he somehow made it through.

Remember if you are going through something there is always somebody to help you through it. Dont be afraid to ask for help it doesn’t make you weak. You are worth it and you are important!!

When it is written in the stars Chapter 4

Faenthor knocked on his sisters Chamber door, no one answered. He opened it slightly and peaked in, the room was empty. That was weird he thought as he had not seen his sister anywhere in the Palace on his way over to her room. He walked inside and threw himself on the sofa, the fire was still burning, Faeniths hairbrush was laying on a wooden table next to a half full cup of  Cold tea. He desided to stick around and wait for his sister to come back, he needed to air out some frustrations about the Prince, he needed somethin or someone to distract him. Maybe Faenith could dazzel the Prince into forgetting about Elanoreth. The door creeked open and Faenthor snaped out of his thoughts as his sister walked Down and slumped Down next to him on the sofa With a Heavy sigh.
