Hugos design i just wanted to put him in something more Loose. hes a thief, a professional escape artist. i dont think wearing clunky metal is ideal for him. i also gave him a prosthetic arm (blond w no arm design trope!) but u cant see it in the ref so i added another drawing of him in his under layering👍 i vaguely referenced russian(?) clothes for him as well... yong came relatively easy to me, if it wasn't obvious i did rip gaming from g*nshin's hoodie. i thought the lion hood was Adorable and freaking perfect for what i had in mind for hos character. since the og notes said the fire kingdom is loosely Chinese inspired i basically just kept that. i mashed tgt a buncha diff dynasties though sorry for how inconsistent i was... i think he looks Okay. anyways i changed yongs role a bit, ill explain why im adjusting some of their roles later but i kept yong as the Jinx Type character. hes the eldest in his family and has a buncha younger siblings, hes a lion dancer and does performances w his family/siblings. he rly like special effects n keeps tryna incorporate his fireworks into their performances (it flops and he has to sew up the dmg) ill explain more of yongs role in another post maybe shrugs... miss nuru was a bit of a struggle for me i might share my full design process with her coz i did a Bunch of mockups for her😭😭😭... i didnt have a specific country of reference for her but i chose to make her vaguely south asian inspired. i also really wanted to keep the sheer fabric w the star / constellation map. i love that idea its so cute so shes still technically the navigator. but she also wields a sword too, fencing or whatever. (her and varian r Huge Cass fangirls which is probably why she started tryna use a sword (snuck out to watch cass compete) Okay ill talk abt this later) in my head, okay ill Probably make a whole nother post talking abt how im interpreting/writing each chara, but in my head i think nuru is the youngest and her kingdom's archivist. shes mostly in charge of like Her kingdoms history / artifacts / etc. ok im getting too side tracked ill save the lore dump for later but thats Nurus role in the party. uhm below i made their character stats mostly to help me with planning / role developing. the yellow is their base stats the color behind is their end stats i guess. i was gonna explain my reasoning for their stats but ermm this post is kinda Really long so sorry😭... varian max int for obvious reasons, also max charisma just coz i feel like u kinda learn a thing or two being around a couple manipulators and spending time in jail idk shrugs... (also lets not forget the "ud b surprised what ppl would do for a cookie!") Hugo slippery guy, if a brick is thrown at him as hes running hes gonna try n run faster to shatter it, his mindset is Run Run Run! i think hes relatively agile too but yeah mostly a Speedster. i think he n varian got no Physical strength varian maybe just like A little coz Farm boy but I rly doubt quirin is making him do a Lotta heavy lifting. yong has incredible stamina and agility because hed a performer. nuru is the strongest coz this team would literally Flop without a proper Offense😭... i think varian n hugo r able to outwit plenty of their opponents but i think nuru is pretty good in a fight, same w yong. On any normal day (Y/n) didn't mind the chaos the boys caused her, after all they were under a lot of pressure, so she let them unwind while cleaning up after them. But today was not one of those days. Ever since the preparations for the next Blue Lock phase started she felt like they were more and more chaotic, while she was losing herself more and more in all of her work. The whole week was just a whole mess for her, from running errands for Anri and Ego, to breaking up fights between the teammates, she just felt like giving up. Right now, she was enjoying some quiet time in the lunch hall, just drinking some tea while fighting back sleep.

"This morning was so tiring...." She winced while grabbing her stomach. This morning, Rin accidentally kicked the football past the goal, which ended up hitting (Y/n) in the stomach. This caused a loud argument between the captain, Isagi and Barou. (Y/n) tried to stop them, but the fussing coming from Aryu and Hiori stopped her. She was annoyed that they didn't let her handle the issue, instead Kurona and Yukimiya ended up dragging her toward the infirmary.

Next thing that happened was an hour after the first incident. Karasu and Otoya were practicing with Bachira and Aryu, (Y/n) was as usually sitting and taking down the stats of the 4. Nothing unusual. Until Bachira decided to goof around with the football and yell at (Y/n) to watch him do some tricks. She admitted, they were impressive, and she commented on how great they are. Her comments along with the impressed look on her face caused the other three to start doing the same. The problem was that there were 4 of them and (Y/n) would have to look every 2 seconds at a different player, which did make her dizzy. Ego had noticed the commotion and yelled at all 5 of them to get back to training.

The 3rd incident happened barely an hour ago at lunch time. (Y/n) was sitting with Gagamaru, Isagi and Chigiri during the time, and while talking with the 3, she didn't notice an argument between Kunigami and Nagi unfolding. Everyone knew that (Y/n) barely ever ate her dessert, it had too much protein, so she would always left it to one of the players to eat. The dessert was pretty much the highlight of their day and the team agreed on whoever got the most points for the day, will get the sweet treat. This arrangement worked for 2 months, but today was the first time that two players were tied in points.

Kunigami and Nagi were both known to be level headed and somewhat apathetic towards everything, except when it comes to their manager and her attention,  that's when both are pretty much irrational.

"I think you seem to misunderstood me, Nagi. I am getting it today." Kunigami said, sending a tight smile towards the albino.

"And you seemed to have misunderstood me, Kunigami. But that pudding is mine."

"Calm down, you two." Niko rolled his eyes, still mad that he lost this time.

(Y/n), blissfully unaware of that whole agreement, noticed Gagamaru staring at her dessert. Knowing she won't eat it anyways, she decided to give it to him.

"Here. I won't eat. Hope you like strawberry flavor." She said, handing the surprised Gagamaru her food.

Chigiri and Isagi gasped silently. They shortly sent the flustered goalie jealous glares before looking at Kunigami and Nagi, who were staring degers at Gagamaru.

"A-are you sure?" The boy asked as (Y/n) nodded her head, smiling warmly at the boy.

"Of course-"

"Gagamaru, you traitor!" The two flinched and looked in surprise at Nagi.

"Ha?" (Y/n) panicked a little as she saw Kunigami and Nagi glaring at the duo.

"Keep it down, you two." Reo rolled his eyes, earning a nod from Tokimitsu.

"M-maybe we should let Gagamaru have-"

"Shut it, Tokimitsu!" Kunigami and Nagi yelled and then started arguing with Gagamaru. It eventually spread across the whole lunch room, and (Y/n) started twitching a little. Nobody was listening to her as she tried to calm it down. Was it the exhaustion or pure desperation to shut everyone up, but (Y/n) eventually started crying silently. Lost in her own thoughts while crying, she wasn't paying attention to what the rest were saying.

"I am the fastest. The dessert is mine!" Chigiri earned a show from Aryu at that.

"You forget I was in the top3 and I am the one with the better hair."

"Oh, shut up you peasants! You all are beneath me and (Y/n), therefore the pudding is mine."

"Says who? You, Barou? You do not have the charm to be anywhere near (Y/n)."

"Otoya, you cheated on your girlfriends. What makes you think you are worthy?" Yukimiya sighed.

"And what about you, Yukimiya? You are so plain, there is no way she will fall for you. Now me on the other hand-"

"Oh, shut up Karasu. Your charms are below Antarctica's temperatures." Niko groaned.

"I think the cutest one of us should get the pudding. So me-"

"Bachira, that would be me. I am also the ace, so that's just a bonus." Isagi smiled, earning a glare from Rin

"Pipe it down, you two can barely pick up a 2nd language." The captain added in.

"English is hard." The two protested.

"I think the richest one should have a say in the dessert." Reo smirked, earning louder protests.

Tokimitsu shivered a little in fright and looked over at (Y/n), freezing for a moment as he saw her crying.

"What's up, Tokimitsu?" Hiori wondered, one of the few who decided not to argue. Kurona looked over to where Tokimitsu was looking, and his eyes widened in surprise as he saw her crying too. He nudged Hiori.

"Look." Kurona said and the cyan-haired boy looked at (Y/n). He wasted no time and ran to her side, followed by Tokimitsu and Kurona.

"He-hey, don't take it to heart. They are stupid like that." Tokimitsu said as he patted the sobbing girl's back. Kurona and Hiori moved closer, both trying to calm her down, all three felt their hearts breaking as they watched her cry. The room grew slowly quiet too, as the rest looked at (Y/n) in concern and guilt.

"(Y/n)...." Chigiri gulped.

"It's just hard to keep up with you all. You keep arguing and destroying things at times... and it's just hard to keep up... I can usually take it, but I guess today isn't my day." A wave of guilt hit the team as they quickly scrambled for the right words. The last thing they wanted was for their (Y/n) to cry, or worse, contemplate on leaving them.

"Tokimitsu, go and take (Y/n) somewhere quiet to calm down. The rest of you stay here." Rin said, quickly getting unto his captain mode. The rest said nothing, deciding not to make things worse, and they watched with guilt and sadness as (Y/n) got dragged out by Tokimitsu.

"Alright, listen up." Rin spoke up, causing the rest to look at him.

"We need to pull our shit together, unless we want (Y/n) to leave and for some other manager to replace her. The team pretty much shuddered at the idea, there was no way someone will replace her!

"So, what's your idea, captain?" Barou wondered.

"I will tell you, but first... Reo, I need you to do some calls." The billionaire heir raised his eyebrow and slowly nodded his head.

And soo, that was what had happened. (Y/n) ended up crying for about 30 minutes as Tokimitsu stayed around, just in case. The boy was collected and calm, no sign of his previous fidgety demeanor. After she calmed down, she apologized to Tokimitsu for inconveniencing him, but the boy didn't mind.

"If you feel down again, don't be afraid to tell us. We will listen." The boy said with a smile, which calmed her down a lot.

After lunch, she went back to her normal duties, helping the other staff members and the team out. To her surprise, they didn't cause any ruckus, they were calm and friendly. Even Rin, Isagi and Barou stayed away from arguing with each other. Unbeknownst to her, whenever a staff member tried to scold her, Karasu, Aryu and Nagi would send them warning glares. They alone caused them to back off quickly. All in all, the day went pretty well, and (Y/n) felt a lot lighter now. She slowly walked into her bedroom, and stopped at the entrance as she noticed a box on her bed. Slowly walking towards it, she looked at the note on the box and slowly started reading it. (Y/n)'s eyes widened a little as she read it through, realizing that the team sent her this, and her heart melted at the apology they wrote out.

'They are chaotic... but I love them like that.' She smiled and slowly opened the box, only to find various treats that she could only buy outside of Blue Lock's facility, she even got a small (f/c) bear.

'They probably made Reo get this...' She chuckled and plopped on the bed, hugging the bear close to herself.

'I will make it up to them... maybe Teieri-san can help me get them some small gift next week.' She thought, slowly falling asleep.

Ahh Yuu Shi, of course you've heard about her- the nrc rumor mill is at least 50% her. always coming out with something new- sometimes contradictory, sometimes outlandish, sometimes very sweet, sometimes, honestly, a bit concerning. whats true and whats not is always in the air, and you find yourself having a hard time trusting...pretty much any interaction you have with her despite currently occupying the same dilapidated dorm. And it feels as though most of the other students agree with you.

Except... having seen a bit more of her than the others, you feel as though something is... off. You can't help but be curious. It's like she does practically nothing to dispel the rumors- if anything she perpetuates them. but why? you can't help but think about the one bit of gossip that is flying around that, for once, everyone seems to agree is true: she's corrupted.

Well, upon beginning your investigation, it very quickly becomes obvious that you're not the only one who was curious about it, and that Yuu seems to enjoy watching you toil over it. She'll tease you and banter with you- and even offer studying remedies or other solutions to your problems in what you're not sure is genuine kindness or not.

You, with your growing interest of her, make it your job to find out the truth, with her making moves to stop you each step of the way. Playing games with someone who you feels sees right through your motivations- and your growing feelings.

Yuu's route is about, actually, allowing her to feel comfortable with you. yep! that's right. the mind games are fun and all- but play too much into them, and she'll be determined to win. To be better and bigger and more powerful than you through any means, even if that means breaking your heart. so in order to get the good end, its simple: you dont play her game. subvert her expectations.

become a safe space. allow her to come to you, like a you're setting out a bowl of food for the feral cat that wanders the neighborhood- letting it get used to you slowly. because you are aware its just doing what it does as a means of survival.

Bad end 1: Game after game after game. You win some. You lose some. You think that you both get nowhere- but in subtle ways- in quiet whispers through the halls... you hear more and more rumors not about her- but about you. And, with time? they'll only grow louder. and louder. and louder. more devastating to your name. eyes follow you wherever you go. scrutinizing your every move. Your social life is destroyed within the year, whether you find out more about her or not.

Bad end 2: She's picked up on your feelings- be it through your blushy shyness or outward flirting, and by the SEVENS is it such an easy and devastating way to break you. All she had to do was play into it. Bat her little lashes and smile oh so sweetly. Egg you on just a little bit. Suddenly, her angelic facade drops.

"You mean nothing to me," she said it so plainly and bluntly- without even a slight twinge of pain in her expression. without any of her faux sweetness. you insist- its another game, another facade, surely- and at the end, she just exhales a quiet laugh, and leaves you all alone. Just another game.

If the route continues- there is a shift. there are no more games. and honestly- Yuu is confused by this. She comes right out and tells you so- snarkily yes, but honestly. this is where the truth begins.

Having allowed her to settle down a bit, she has taken the time to deem you as nonthreatening. She doesn't tell you EVERYTHING, obviously, but she also doesn't tell outright lies anymore. Lies that were- once so, so convincing, she now cracks open the methods behind her acts for you. In actuality...

She thrives off of bending peoples expectations. Being a pain in the ass if people underestimate her- she LOVES proving people wrong.

In that aspect, she's just a little cunt. No- not corrupted, but trying to make a name for herself in an environment that has already deemed her to be something equivalent of your local phantom. Why not play into it if it helps her get what she wants? Especially when people will think that way regardless.

From this point onward, she comes and "bothers" you all the time- the feral cat becomes more comfortable with people, bumping its head against your leg. Reach out to pet it, and it will still bare its claws. but its progress. There is constant teasing. CONSTANT. affectionately, though. it's clear she doesn't actually mean to harm you (anymore). her kindness and little offerings towards you feel truthful now that they're accompanied by a smug grin. You realize now that she was never truly sugary sweet or overwhelmingly sour... just... in between. You know, like an actual person.

Neutral end: and things just sorta... stay that way. you're friends now, at the least. You chat together and goof off- study together at times, but it feels like... there's still something she's not telling you. Like that cat still runs away when you reach out to pet it. Confessing to her in this state leads to a swift friend-zoning. But, hey, if it means anything, she doesn't ghost you after that. You ARE actually still friends, i spose.

If you have been patient enough with that stray, however-

She is again, confused. Often wondering WHY you've stuck around despite having gotten to know her so well. She knows 100% certain now that there isn't- or at least that there isn't any more- an ulterior motive. She trusts you fully, but she still wonders.

Even when she's tired and stressed and cold- snarky and sarcastic, always poking fun at one way or another. but you stay. She's able to pinpoint your feelings on her own this way. What? She's been in relationships before- she knows the signs.

She comes right out and asks if you like her- one cold night out on the front patio of ramshackle. she's worried now. She hates that she's worried- Worried and afraid that she'll drive you to leave. Be it through her shenanigans or because of that fear. That deep. deep fear that drives her to put up so many walls. That drives her to grasp something so tightly within her fingers that she can feel every beating pulse of it. The fear that drives her to survive.

She's just- afraid. and she hates that she's afraid. Because she knows that there will be people who think that means she is weak. And if she is weak- she is a target.

She is evidently very troubled. and she doesn't want to trouble you.

Bad end 3: You've finally found the truth. The truth you wanted all along- and its actually that she's afraid. Like prey driven back into a corner, wild and frantic and baring its teeth. Thats what you wanted from the start, right? after all the chaos she caused? after putting on a show of comforting her- the next day, all those rumors are properly dispelled. her games are finally over, and you are finally free. It's not like she didn't plan on just doing the same thing to you, right? (betrayal end. played the long game eh?)

Good end: You confirm her suspicions- as well as make a point that it is, in the end, YOUR choice to stay despite her flaws. Everyone has flaws after all- You know everyone has walls. It just takes time to get cozy and comfortable. So why not make it easier on her? you can both survive. And you can survive together. With a halfhearted laugh, she accepts your feelings. laying her head on your shoulder soundly. for the first time since you've known her, she apologizes. So softly and sweetly.... but in a solemn way. A genuine, honest, truthful way. Because these feelings are real.

The feral cat finally lays next to you, purring soundly as you stroke its head.

Astarion: He is a Ghost Bat! I like to think him being a vampire and being a bat are entirely unrelated, it's just a coincidence and he's honestly pretty mad about it. Ever since I first started playing bg3 I had him assigned as a Ghost Bat or a Spectral Bat in my brain, just arbitrarily, and I went for the former just because the colours work.

Gale: He's a Eurasian Lynx! I had to make him a cat. I just had to. And I trawled through the wikipedia pages for pretty much every type of cat and Lynx was about the only one that fit in my brain. The fluff kinda evokes his beard and hair I think, and I almost didn't have him have proper hair, just the fur, but in the end I wanted to be consistent about it so he got it. Peep the greying muzzle because mans is stressed and dying.

Karlach: She's a Bongo Antelope! I knew I wanted her to be some kind of large hooved mammal, because of the horns but also because their builds and general sturdiness really suit her I think. It was a tough pick, there's so many cool ones, and when sketching I was actually going to have her be a Mountain Nyala, but I changed my mind last minute just because the colours of the Bongo fit SO well. They're also my favourite antelope. Let me have this. She's so cool and she gets to be one of my favourite animals.

Lae'zel: She is a Pterosaur! My specific reference was Dorygnathus, but I was fairly loose on the details and so she doesn't super resemble them beyond the teeth and tail. I wanted her to be something prehistoric since the Gith are aliens or something (i dont know dnd lore that well), and so I wanted her to be in her own sort of category apart from the rest so, prehistoric! I considered making her a dinosaur but the idea of a Pterosaur just really appealed for whatever reason. Kind of parallels their dragon riding if they can fly, I suppose? And their Enhanced 10 Foot Vertical Leap.

Shadowheart: She's a Hare! Very specifically a Hare rather than a rabbit. Hopefully that comes across. I wasn't super sure what to do for her honestly, but in several scenes she has these big scared eyes, and she's generally just kind of having an awful time and being harmed by the gods for the whole game and I was like 'hey I know an animal that looks like it's been personally slighted by the gods' and so Shadowhare was born. There is a part of me that wishes I'd made her a cat for the warrior cats joke though.

Wyll: He's a Pine Marten! I just kind of got it in my head he should be a Mustelid of some kind, I'm not sure why, he just has that kind of vibe to me? Maybe it's the way he moves, maybe it's his skill at killing, maybe I'm just biassed because I love him and I love mustelids, who knows. I looked through em all and I didn't want one of the bigger sturdier ones like a Wolverine because. Strength stat of 8. So I went for one of my smaller favourites, the Pine Marten. The reason he's not an animal with horns naturally like Karlach is because I still wanted them to look out of place on him! I toyed with giving him wings (because they're cool) but ultimately didn't wanna stray toooo far from Pine Marten.

And that's all! Perhaps I'll get around to anthropomorphising the non origin characters, but who even knows. Halsin would almost be too easy. I could make Jaheria a cool ass fox or something though. Much to consider. If I do them then I'm gonna be doing my Tav Deimos and my Durge Lethe though. That's da law.

Hello friend, so for folks who aren’t great with reading or writing, I think the best approach is to use systems that provide you with small amounts of information that you can keep in your head, or games that provide you with a lot of visual cues. I’m going to include some systems that seem pretty rules-lite (because they allow you to create a character pretty easily) but I’m also looking for games that give you visual or tactile aids to help you remember what’s going on in the story or with your character.

The Best Job on Earth, by Hilander.

Players will take on the role of unpaid interns working for SolTech Industries, a perfectly ethical research consortium funding a Better Tomorrow! Of course, when these experiments get out of hand, our fine interns are deployed to clean up.

The Best Job on Earth is not a very long read for the GM, and probably an even shorter read for players. Your character sheet can fit on 1/3 of a piece of paper, with three stats and a little bit of space for the items you get from a d20 roll table. This game isn’t necessarily a one-shot: your interns can spent earned XP in order to get a promotion, which involves increasing personal scores and getting an extra Luck point, which basically is a resource you can use for a free re-roll. This game is great for fans of horror, paranormal science, and the crushing weight of unpaid internships.

Mausritter, by Losing Games.

Take up the sword and don the whiskers of a brave mouse adventurer in Mausritter, a rules-light fantasy adventure roleplaying game. Mausritter is built on the chassis of Into the Odd, with new rules for setting, character generation, magical artifacts, and mouse-scale adventures.

Mausritter has very concise character sheets, with only 3 stats to keep track of and a card-based inventory system. If you buy the physical version, or if you decide to do some printing, you can use these cards to put in/on your inventory slots, as visual reminders of what you are currently carrying and how much room you have left. The book is 25 pages, but character creation is one, maybe 2 at the most - and most of your creation process just involves rolling on tables! Make your mouse in minutes and you’re ready to play.

Flyover Country, by Headstone Hills.

Fields of wheat and corn ripple in the wind, hungry eyes peering out between the stalks. Billboards along the road advertise strange and dangerous attractions. Smiles are too wide, manners too polite, secrets buried too deep. The neon light of a diner glows in the distance, but you may never reach its doors. An empty highway stretches out to the horizon before wrapping back in on and around itself, twisted on into the forever horizon. This is Flyover Country.

Flyover Country uses a tarot deck as a resource and oracle as you play the game. Character creation is simple and quick - although I recommend the GM do a bit of reading and prep beforehand. Each character gains a score (or pool) of points for three aspects: Body, Mind and Wyrd. Every time they use their ability, they draw a number of tarot cards equal to their score. The player can then choose which card they want to use to represent their outcome. Characters that are injured will reduce the score of a relevant trait by 1.

One way to make this game a bit simpler is giving each of the players a card with their character’s Ghost and Haunting already written on it. This is a combination of your character’s dark secret and the strange ability that will manifest inside them once they make that secret known. When I played this with my characters, we used poker chips as tokens to represent our ability Scores, and players would hand in tokens whenever they had to reduce their scores. I think the tarot cards make for an exciting mechanic, although the game’s success certainly depends on how well the game master can interpret the outcomes of cards being drawn.

This House Will Outlive Us, by pludmale.

Residents change, but the house remains. Everyone is changed by the house, and the house, in turn, is changed by its visitors.

In this game players take turns building the story of a house. The narrative is guided by flipping a coin onto different areas of the game board. The game is played in 3 stages: determining the type of house, picking out character roles and playing out the history and future of the house itself.

This House Will Outlive Us uses a map of the house, a number of cards with prompts, and a coin that you flip in order to tell its story. Each card has to be read to figure out what happens next, but the amount of information you’re expected to retain and communicate is very small, and because the game is so collaborative, you could potentially have one person do the bulk of the reading while the table shares the role of providing answers to the prompts.

This is a game that also doesn’t really require anyone to write anything down, as it’s meant to be played in a single session, and the changes from era to era should be pretty easy to remember - although you could also assign someone to be a note-taker if you like.

Horse Girl Infinity, by Jordanfish.

Some especially difficult challenges may require a group roll, where everyone has to roll their dice and contribute Victory Points dependant on your success.

Your characters’ advancement is built around their goals, which takes a mechanical effect. Your Dream is something about yourself that you want; when you act in accordance with it, you gain Determination or XP. Determination can be spent to give you an extra dice on a roll, while XP can be spent on a separate grid that gives you a new narrative advantage. I think the spatial organization of information may make it easier to find and keep track of, and you can use tokens like poker chips or coins to help you keep track of your Determination and your XP.

If you want a slightly different genre, you can also check out Demon Blade Ultimate, which is more aligned with Shonen-style anime.

I don’t own Crescent Moon, so I can’t say for certain that this is super non-reader friendly, but I’m willing to go out on a limb and say it is, because the character sheets remind me very much of Mausritter character sheets.

The most obvious connection is the hand-drawn inventory: you draw the objects you carry, as well as items and conditions that may affect you. Because you use cards to represent what your character is currently carrying, I think this element has the potential to reduce the amount of reading and writing the player has to do. The GM on the other hand, likely has a little more work to do in terms of planning an adventure - although I don’t think the work a GM does in this game is as much as say, a D&D DM.

what is your skull cavern strat? i feel like i spend way too long in there to ever really get enough loot (i’ve already done the related quests i just wanna get perfection already 😭😭)

okay im gonna try to sum it up in key points so its easy 2 follow.

you need to go on highest luck days only.

you need your axe to be upgraded, at MINIMUM, gold. but you shouldnt be using it often though but if you do need to use it - it needs to be fast.

you need to bring bombs and you need to bring a good weapon. if you dont have the galaxy sword, spend the 25k gold and get the lava katana from the adventurers guild

YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BRING FOOD. i think this is obvious but not just food, drinks too. goldstar cheese or salads from gus are preferred.

your main stats are +luck and +speed. you can only have one food buff active at a time, but you can get buffs from drinks. my combo is the spicy eel (available at dessert trader in exchange for rubies) and a triple shot espresso (takes three coffees to make) but you can do things like a lucky lunch, a pumpkin soup, a ginger ale etc

personally though i think spicy eel and triple espresso work best and they're pretty easy to get up to this point in the game.

you need to get there as EARLY as you possible can. im talking you need to forfeit your day plans and drop everything to go do a run. the desert trader has warp totems for calico desert in exchange for omnigeodes, buy them BEFORE your plan to run- they are always available.

(you'll also want a warp totem for the farm so you can pass out closer to home. you could pass out in there but the former is easier for me lol)

as for strat itself - the key thing in the skull caverns is that you're trying to get as far down as you can possibly go.

now, there are some ways to do this to circumvent having to find shafts and holes to jump in. specifically - people make sheds of crystalarium with jades to trade for staircases at the desert trader. but this takes sooooo much fucking set up lmao so i dont often bother with it. if you want to get down quickly in one go, its a good method but it takes a long time to get up and running.

but you can get pretty far down if you just focus on getting down as far as possible. don't clear floors unless you're really really low already. if there's a spot with a shit ton of ore thats easy to blow up, then you can stop and do it then but for the most part time is money.

it seems counterintuitive but you will accumulate a lot of stuff simply breaking rocks with bombs and picking them up while you get down. it is not like the normal mines so its best to just ignore any ore that would take up a lot of time.

so the strat is place a bomb, find a ladder or shaft, jump in and repeat. stop to get easy ore but focus on going down. always take shafts over ladders and make sure to heal up because you do take fall damage.

also if you're struggling to find a ladder, try killing mobs. it is much, much more lucrative to do it in skull caverns and the drops are extremely good depending on the monster.

also keep in mind that time runs about 25 percent slower in the caverns compared to a normal day so try not to stress too much.

its pretty easy to have a good run if you just keep all of this in mind. the hardest thing imo is getting bombs

personally i don't like buying them so i usually just craft them but if you buy them it gets costly fast. you can always replenish your reserve for ore but money can be tricky. thats just me.

It’s been two weeks since Yuuji was bitten by that god forsaken spider, and while the bite itself had simmered down and was no longer irritated, everything else about his body was becoming stranger and stranger. 

He’d noticed a bunch of little things that seemed to add up pretty quickly with how significant they affected his daily life. The sticky hands, being number ONE on that list. Seemingly the hardest thing to write off as a coincidence and something that was just… odd, it also wasn’t just something he could ignore when it happened, because then his hand was uncontrollably stuck to something, and he couldn’t UN stick it. The number of times that he’d been late to class over it this past week was becoming a nuisance because now, Nanami was stepping in to ask Yuuji if everything was going alright outside of class.

How was he supposed to tell him, yeah, everything’s just dandy! My hand just glues itself temporarily to random things at random points in the day, but I’m figuring it out!

He’d be sent to the nearest psychiatric ward. Or maybe, Shoko would pick apart his brain, which might just be worse.

Among the other things he’d begun to notice were things like an increase in his strength, which suddenly seemed to become inhuman. Yuta dropped his pencil when they were hanging out the other day in he and Toge’s dorm room, and Yuuji nearly threw his desk across the room when he lifted the corner so Yuta could retrieve it. 

“Holy shit, Yuuji, that definitely wasn’t necessary,” Yuta laughed awkwardly in shock at the desk which now sat on its side. All Yuuji could do was stand and stare at it, dumbfounded.

“I literally only meant to lift the corner, I’m being so serious right now,” his flat voice really showing that he didn’t even know what to make of the situation.

Yuuji also noticed his reaction times (mostly becoming apparent at his football practices) were increasing too. Something he wouldn’t normally even see coming because it was when his eyes were closed, or when his back was turned, he’d have taken care of before he even realized what he was doing. Like his body was reacting before he was.

The last thing was his oddly fast healing time. Bruises would only last a day or two, depending on the severity of the injury, and past that there’d be no evidence that there ever was an injury in the first place. This one especially was a bad thing for Yuuji of all people to deal with because that just meant he could be as reckless as he wanted and not face many consequences, if any at all. He was already a klutz and an airhead most of the time, so now he was just a ticking time bomb for stupid decisions. 

Since all of this started around the same time that Yuuji received the spider bite, he’s a tiny bit suspicious that the two are related, but he can’t reasonably put the two things together in a way that feasibly makes sense in his mind. Why would a spider bite give him weird superhuman powers???

Disclaimer: i know nora sakavic said that Neil and Andrew won't possibly happen I respect that, hear me out.

I have seen this too many times it might make sense. If Neil and Andrew "were" to get married. It would be for financial reasons. Of course they go to the court house, wake up Wymack in the middle of the morning to ask him to be a witness.

Not tell anyone because "not a big deal its marriage of convenience" to say the least. Of course the foxes will be like all over the place. Bets will be lost for sure, Renee might be a second witness and keep quiet. Once everyone finds out well, Allison will be pissed for not being able to set up perfect wedding, Kevin wouldn't care much, Matt and Dan will be upset for not knowing because "technically they adopted Neil as their son" but will get over it. Nicky will loose his marbles and cause a ruckus. Its nicky. Aaron's reaction will be his usual "I dont care bla bla bla," but aaron will sent an anonymous message to Andrew and never speak about it.

Neil figured if he and Andrew get married, it will benefit them when those two decide to find a place of there own or new car, pet insurance for Sir and King, being financially responsible while taking on their pro exy career. Its a pretty smart move and logical if you think about it.

They way I see it play out is:

Neil: "Ever thought about getting married?"

Andrew: [Glances over, expression unreadable] "What would be the point?"

Neil: "Tax breaks, maybe. Legal stuff. Easier to buy a house together."

Andrew: [Snorts] "Right, because that’s exactly what I want more paperwork and people in my business."

Neil: "So, never crossed your mind?"

Andrew: [Shrugs] "It’s a piece of paper. People act like it changes everything."

Later after the discussion which is yes.

Neil: "We’d need two witnesses. Wymack could be one."

Andrew: [Deadpan] "Wymack? You want our coach at our wedding. That’s... disturbingly sentimental."

Neil: "He’d show up. And he’s practical."

Andrew: [Already pulling out his phone] "Sure, if you want Wymack to lecture us halfway through. I’ll call Renee."

Neil: [Raises an eyebrow] "Renee? Not Kevin?"

Andrew: [Smirking] "Renee would bring something useful like sanity. Kevin would bring a sports drink and talk stats the whole time."

Neil: [Shrugs] "Fair enough."

Andrew: [On the phone, calm as ever] "Renee, you busy? Good. You’re witnessing a wedding. No, not a real one. Just sign the damn papers."

Honestly this is just a head canon, im probably not the only who came up with this or different results.

Also Wymack's reaction to being asked to be a witness for Neil and Andrew's so called wedding would probably be a mix of surprise, exasperation, and begrudging acceptance. He wouldn't say no to them if he wanted to. As long as he doesn't have to do a speech or wear a suit.

siffrin: disabled after the loops. but also very adamant about the fact theyre Fine. Honestly. (they took three steps out of bed and collapsed. they get better about this with time)

mira: considers herself a jack of all trades and master of One. that One is actually Several Ones, but because its One Per Thing (like being really good at one part of cooking or sewing or cleaning or what have you) she still counts it as One thing she excels at in any given moment. i do think she gets over this with age, though

isa: get this boy some glasses!!! Stat!!!!!! far sighted dummy how are you supposed to make good stitching like this!!! (he does Surprisingly well without glasses actually, but hed have a Much easier time with them)

odile: actually Amazing at improv if she decides to play along. can go for long stretches too! she tends to stop sooner rather than later though, so youd have to make it clear you want to keep going and hope shes in the mood if you wanted to keep the ball rolling

bonnie: this is one ive never seen anyone else say but i love the idea that they have intricately ranked each veggie theyve ever tasted on a very concise scale that nille knows as well as they do (because they made her memorize it). currently at the top is cabbage (specifically fried) and trailing at the bottom are carrots of any kind

loop: they dont mind being compared to siffrin as much as one might think. too much or about certain things will still easily set them off, but they actually quite like being able to see themself in him. its all about how you word it ultimately. "you and siffrin both hug the same" for example would be completely fine and even good vs something like "you and siffrin both make the same face about x." the second one would depend on the variable to truly rank it, but assume things about appearances arent the best comparisons to make, while things with personality are marginally better

the day does get ruined when people pretend that lando hasn't had an amazing season. he went from "lando nowins" to "lando nochampionships" within less than six months, and that's a growth of its own.

i really do believe that oscar will be wdc one day, but 2025 is not his year. not unless he can fix his qualifyings and managing his tyres. lando has a higher chance of being wdc in 2025, because he learned this year what its like to be in a title fight. he was thrown into it halfway through, and he didn't know how to cope with the pressure, but he learned and he adapted, and he will come back stronger next year.

"lando hating glasses" <- yeah, thats a pretty accurate thing for the haters. its the same as always. he has started beating their favs, and they can't handle that, so they hate on him for no reason. abu dhabi was a masterclass race by lando, and he fully deserved the win. qatar would've ended with him on the podium, if not for the stop and go penalty, and anyone who has watched the race and has at least a little bit of normal and rational thinking would agree.

idk how people came up with this narrative that lando is a horrible driver when he finished SECOND in the drivers standings???? <- its the same confusion i have with oscar being "a top three" driver. no hate to oscar, he's excellent at defending, and god it's hot to watch him defending. just yesterday i channeled my inner oscar piastri and defended against a car that kept honking for no reason. but, we know lando's not a bad driver. if he was, he wouldn't have had all the achievements he has today. he has two crucial stats backing him up, which is fourth mcl driver to get 8 poles in a season, and a very small group of drivers who got most wins in the same season as their maiden win (the highest is 4, which lando did last night).

Imagine like- a main game that takes place at NRC, then playful land dlc. Very special circumstances need to happen for creek to appear- (spoilers for playful land ofc) (also creek is a freak so expect some darker themes here lmao)

Catch a glimpse at the number calling Fellow whilst trapped in the cage with the other students. Call it after Fellow drops you back off on Sage Island. I spose in these circumstances theyre a bit of a secret route-

You accept. The next few days pass as normal- attending classes and whatnot. As your local isekaied individual, money is always a need. And as an adult in this route, you would be 10x more productive working on whatever you can rather than reattending school- though I'm sure it makes you question your sanity to go work for someone who literally runs a human trafficking ring after LITERALLY BEING KIDNAPPED AND NEARLY TURNED INTO OBJECTS but its too late u want to romance the creature for the logic of dating sims knows no bounds. Safe to say morality has left the building

Speaking of kidnapped-

You went to bed in the dorm like usual, woke up on a fancy, red leather couch in what appeared to be a fancy lounge.

Isola is there with you, unfortunately, by alerting Creek to your location, they are able to acquire her as well. She is quite frankly miserable to be back after a small taste of freedom- and she's out of commission for most of the run. Simply meandering about or confined to a room that already belonged to her, seemingly devoid of any hope to get out. She doesn't trust you at all either anymore, naturally. Talking with her too much will lead to Creeks bad end.

You are both in a seemingly very large estate, with a built in greenhouse- and no known exit. A voice echoes out over a very well hidden speaker system, calling you through two large, ornately decorated doors carved with patterns of flora.

into a surprisingly cozy little nook- with shelves lining the walls containing tanks and tanks of little critters and books, and a large window spanning the entirety of the back of the room to view the open ocean: you're on a boat again. cricket song hums from the glass tanks- so loud it reverberates through the very walls. But it all seems to dull to a quiet hum once it speaks:

"Quite the unpredictable one."

From a neat little tidy corner at the edge of the room, Creek spends a lot of their time at their desk in their office, almost always wearing a crooked grin... the entire route is about keeping up that unpredictability and keeping Creek entertained with new experiences. That is one of the main ways to make them feel- well, anything at all after their many years of life. You are offered a temporary position on the boat as their assistance in order to prove your worth and capabilities- given they were already impressed that you managed to 1) get their contact info at all, 2) sink their damn amusement park, and 3) help them get Isola back.

The job is simple enough- though devoid of any and all morality. You handle whatever small jobs Creek tells you to do: unpacking new shipments of "puppets", aiding them with feeding their many animals and bugs, and helping other workers on the ship.

There is an odd... tenseness in the air. A void of white noise. You can almost always hear the sound of some sort of bug, but rarely people speaking to one another. Like everyone was on the edge of their seat.

In order to get your desired romantic end, you dont mind this at all.

After all- any mention to creek about how "wrong" things felt will simply result in them responding with "but you knew what you'd be getting into, didn't you?" as well as their affection for you quickly tanking.

The more emotions you are able to make Creek feel, the more successful you will be. be it those emotions are good or bad. The more entertained it is, the more it will keep you close.

oddly enough: they offer you a lot of advice. Genuine guidance. Any aid from them feels so tender and careful. like each touch from porcelain and resin hands are meticulously thought through. You learn a lot. and you learn quick. Simply enough, Creek was feared for a good reason. Not only because of it's job and power, but because it knows JUST how to snare you if you cross them. But it also learns from you. It learns that there are endless possibilities for new experiences: from the horrid, to the mundane, to the exciting. They feel like they have purpose again- like they can make an even greater legacy with you than the one they already have.

In that way, they offer you protection... on the better route ofc.

Needless to say, you also very quickly become well acquainted with bugs if you weren't before. Creek's... views of them definitely border on the obsessive in ways you can't understand and are sometimes too uneasy to ask about, but also have an underlying appreciation for nature which comes to be respected.

Route branch! basically in this whole run, you're both very morally questionable, but quickly become codependent. in a toxic way. duh. its creek what did u expect /silly bro is not redeemable- and their mannerisms do not allow for anything even close to a healthy partnership. they will not change for you. its "i can make them worse" time.

Um. i will put what routes are "good" in creeks pov. then like. the actual connotations in parenthesis.

Good ending (bad <3): you match each others freak. 17 injured 9 dead. the bond between you two becomes so strong- but oddly enough its never spoken aloud in any official way. It's all the actions you take for one another. Its how you've made them feel ALIVE again for the first time in decades. Now, they never want to go without the feeling again. You'll stay. and you'll stay oh so close. until they can finally find a way to grab your soul and put it into a body that wont age or decay, just like them. Eternal. (welcome to hell)

Neutral ending (bad <3): They... don't know how to feel about you. sometimes you're fun. sometimes you're boring. you have the potential to do great things with them- so you work together: nothing more, nothing less. Running a human trafficking scheme on a ship out at sea, making bank. (go to jail)

Bad ending (bad <3 and also probably the canon ending if you pick this route lmao): They're bored. Worse than bored- theyre annoyed by you. You and your contrary insistence that everything here is "bAD" despite literally wanting to come here in the first place. Soooo you're fired! yeah :( sorry. Oh, you want to go home then? HAHHAHAHAHA no. you think they're just gonna let you go like that after all the shit you've seen and know about? no. become bug food. (ur dead)
